Pop music hasn't been good since the 70s

False. Today's pop music is just as good as pop music from the last several decades. The only difference?

It hasn't aged yet and become "retro" and "vintage" and "cool". 90s music that was decried as vapid and shallow and not as good as the classics is now experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity and whatnot because all the people my age (mid-to-late-20s) are looking back fondly on it. Not all of it, of course. Just like not all the big songs and music from the 70s is still remembered as "classic". In twenty years the music from today will be remembered just as fondly as the music from the 70s is.

    Sorry to make you sad.

I was going to post something like this but then I saw someone else already had.

So, I'm going to take this post and marry it. It will be a musical ceremony.

  2. To be honest, I was a little disappointed to find that Balrog Boogie was really the only track on their first album with any actual swing influence... The others were mostly orchestral or operatic additions.

Still an awesome album though. XD

Same here. The Latin fusions made up for that a lot though and the second album has more.

But really, I'm just so happy that something like Avant Garde Metal-Swing Fusion exists.

  3. I vary per character. Most don't trust themselves with Control, some consider the Geth a valid price to pay (or had already killed them), some chose survival at the cost of diversity, one chose to tell the Catalyst where to stick it.

That one made me smile, even if it felt like Bioware was a little bitter about it.

  4. Since you mentioned Bluegrass, Punch Brothers are a great band.

I also recommend Jenny Owen Youngs, The Protomen, the Ditty Bops, Franz Ferdinand, Biffy Clyro (start with the newest album), The Protomen, Mika, Florence + the Machine, Mumford and Sons, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Jonathan Coulton, The Protomen, Flight of the Conchords, fun, Tom Lehrer, Justice, My Chemical Romance, and the Hadestown album.

That's not counting the classics like Queen and The Beatles or my collection of soundtracks.

    Or my singles.
