    Glatorian

    As it stands right now, I'm planning on getting the Glatorian in this order:
     
    Skrall
    Strakk/Gresh/Vorox
    May or may not get Malum and Tarix
     
    So yeah, I'm having a hard time deciding. In some pictures Strakk looks incredible, and in others not so much. Gresh looks fairly average as far as actual design goes, but the colors are so beautiful they bring tears to my eyes. Plus the weapon(s) and mask look awesome. While Vorox has a very boring torso, his tan makes me happy and I want to support the color with my wallet.
     
    Malum and Tarix are both pretty cool-looking and decent sets, but their designs are boring and old... Still, the gold is good on Tarix and if their personalities in the story turn out good enough I may buy them cheap somewhere. (Surprisingly good mask on Tarix, as well. I had expected it to be completely boring, but it looks pretty good in some reviews I've read.)
     
    And Skrall's number one because of the colors and the patterning running all over him. Very purty.

    Usually I just go out and buy some Bionicles (Which I'm obviously familiar with) for my little cousins, but now they've decided to be harder to buy for.
     
    One of my little cousin apparently wants "the yellow one," but that means that I have to get him either a 2008 set or Vorox or Malum, neither of which is quite yellow. I've always gone out of my way to get him one of the upcoming sets, though, so I'm not sure what to buy. (Besides that, I could've sworn he liked the ice characters best last year...) And to complicate that, he wants in addition to his Bionicles a "Bakugan with the highest G's." I don't even know what that is.
    Can someone point me in the right direction here? Anyone a fan who could tell me which has the highest G's?
     
    Of course my other little cousin is easy to buy for. I call him up to ask about his favorite color of Bionicles and he says blue, followed by red. So that's nice and simple. Concise.
     
    So yeah, what should I do? Malum, Vorox, or Bitil?
    And which "Bakugan" has the "highest G's?"

    It's weird how you can be researching something that you already know is completely bizarre, and then when you find out something really bewildering about it you're still really bewildered despite the fact that you already knew it was completely bizarre.
    Like goblin sharks. 25% of their body weight is their liver, and nobody knows why? That's no explanation! Why?! Why is 25% of their body weight their liver?!

    I'm not sure when it'll get a part in them, but I'm coming up with a mythology for a pre-Matoran race in my epics. I'm thinking that their creation myth will deal with a being known as The Planet Weaver or, in their language, the "Hagru Zadarai."
    I'm quite happy with the name...

    One thing that's been astounding me lately is the inability of people to see similarities between the Mistika and their original versions. Granted, they are very different, but many parts (Masks in particular) are not far off at all... Except the Kaukau...
     
    I'm going to start this off with the Hau Nuva Mistika. It actually resembles the classic Hau far more than the older Nuva version, which I think was a great decision. This will be the end of BIONICLE's first chapter and it's good to see Tahu's mask resembling its iconic beginnings.
     
    First off, observe the shape of the forehead. Not the fin or that little hole, but just the forehead itself. It's nearly identical. It has the same rounded, largely featureless appearance we've gotten used to- Both include a small feature to throw off the monotony, too.
     
    The eyes show a great deal of resemblance as well. They are similarly shaped and arranged in proportion with the rest of the mask the same way. The main difference is that the new ones are slightly less down-turned, but I personally like it because it makes him look more noble and less angry, representing his increased maturity.
     
    I don't know why so many people insist he has no mouth. It's certainly not as deep or pronounced as his original, but there's no doubt that it's there. Just look here- You can easily spot the lines outlining it. It's actually shaped more than a little bit like his classic Hau.
    Outlined in light green you can also see the slits to the side of his mouth on the original, and also that it has the same amount of ridges on the new one, this time moved inwards and joined in the middle.
     
    I'm personally quite happy with his. I've always preferred the appearance of the Mata Masks to the Nuva masks and I'm happy to see the Mistika's embodying the first collection to such a degree.
     
    I'll do Onua's next... Tomorrow, maybe.
