  1. Picked up the Lego Movie game just earlier, may get some others too if I'm feeling rich.
  2. I'm wondering if Skull Slicer will look vaguely similar to General Grievous structurally. I'd very happy with that.
  3. Since we don't really know the link to the original Pohatu this isn't really an issue of any sort of issue in that sense, so the thing more to consider is whether this personality suits his role and element. Element? Definitely fits as far as I'm concerned - not necessarily better than the old personality personally (he was one of if not my favourite personalities in the Mata). As for his role in the team I think it also works quite well since it does't seem to double up too much with the other personalities and it is a fairly common archetype to have. Furthermore having a stalwart hard kinda character is probably appealing to a decent portion of the target demographic - moreso than the chilled relaxed personality. Additionally as mentioned before, I haven't really seen him actually speak or show his personality much yet - so it's possible he still retains elements of his old personality (if so though would have to be rather subtle). For example he may have an action/stressed/battle persona and his more relaxed out of action persona. Overall I'd say I prefer the original (but I'm biased ), but am not against the current one and hopefully it works.
  4. Only ones I explicitly prefer in AM would be Tahu and Kopaka I think - makes them seem super slick.
  5. That's a really cool interpretation of Taka and 'Kuta - great find! Makuta kinda reminds me of that villain from the original Digimon series.
  6. Mask Maker sound exciting! Hard to judge in general based on the information given but sounds like could be good.
  7. It's pretty noticeably different from what I just saw. :S The colors and links are different, but other than that it's pretty much the same. Not really, there's a bunch of different content and subforums for starters. Like I get the original post I was talking about was referring/making reference to the frontpage similarities, but would say it's hyperbole to say you can't feel nostalgia because it's too similar.
  8. It's pretty noticeably different from what I just saw. :S
  9. Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere but earlier today they posted saying: I wonder if they'll give us another "harder" one?
  10. Three three hours long movies and so little Beorn. I just can't cope. He was barely in the fight at the end at all - literally 1-2 seconds. My aunt didn't even know who he was after having seen all three.
  11. Woot! And I saw Birdman today - was really clever I thought and whilst it seemed self-indulgent at times it did so knowingly in a pretty meta way since that whole part of the industry was a large theme of the music. Was also quite enjoyable to watch, lots of nice little bits of humour and industry references scattered throughout without ruining the intensity of the movie itself. Also left me thinking after I left the cinema - probably one of my favourite movies of the past year.
  12. MNOG wins instantly based on some of the most incredible nostalgia I will probably ever experience. More objectively - in terms of what I want to see more of - VNOG, but with more cutscenes and conversations like MNOG (shouldn't be as hard to do nowadays). MNOGII really loses out as I couldn't run it very well on release and bugs prevented me from playing it properly which tarnished my memory of it. I agree in that MNOGII felt quite ambitious but didn't quite hit the mark.
  13. From what I've seen I wouldn't be surprised if Makuta ends up being one of those characters who is introduced as an antagonist and becomes either an ally or neutral helper (as in that's his role from then on - not like in Time Trap or something which was only because he had to really). of the protagonists once the story moves on. They certainly haven't depicted him as being the epitome of all evil and have shown us somewhat why he is acting as he is in a relatable manner. Could be a cool turn of events I think.
  14. Skipping over a lot of the discussion from the past two pages - my general thoughts on whether cool sets/characters from G1 should return is probably more along the lines of rather than having say the Bohrok come back, have something that's basically the same in appearance and maybe even in function, but is named differently and has a different story role and progression. I'd personally prefer if the new series didn't retread too much of the old ground. At most I'd want the names the same with a new look and lore similar to the Toa, but for the most part I'd rather have original additions I think. Still I'm open to whatever as long as it's done well.
  15. Ehlek is definitely a really cool set and mine doesn't appear to have any issues. If you acquire an unopened canister I'm guessing he should be fine if you don't reconstruct him or stress the lime pieces too much. I'd go for it personally. Worst comes to worse you can repair the piece or try and even get two sets if isn't too expensive (I do that sometimes).
  16. Well deserved - always good to hear it getting the recognition it deserves.
  17. I was already annoyed about the Golden Globes lost but for it to not even be nomtinated for the Oscars is insane. The only other animated movie that held a candle to it IMO would be Big Hero 6 and even then I thought TLM was far superiour in many aspects and a lot more creative. They probably didn't nominate because it's based on a consumer product but that's such a shallow non-reason. Man I'm mad. Also no Jake Gyllenhaal nomination for best actor?! WHHHYYYYY :'(
  18. My little brother isn't aware of the existence of the new sets yet (I mentioned to him when I last saw him but don't think he remembered. ). If not through me, he'll probably become aware of their existence one he starts school again. Suppose he becomes a fan and is the type of fan that would join chat online - it'd take a time period for him to become attached to the line, then another period of time for him to migrate to an online community. So in that little scenario there's at least three lag periods between now and when he'd end up here. I'd say the base new demographic could be quite a while away from arriving. That being said there'll be an increasing flow I suspect, the question is how large it'll get I guess.
  19. Sweet!! Was waiting for something like this to land!
  20. There's still some more specific reference sources in S&T itself regarding certain story/lore aspects and various collections of Greg quotes - but as an official feature of the site it has largely been taken care of by BS01 and such even since before the end of the line really.
  21. Pohatu and Kopaka would make for a good mix of female personalities I feel. If you chose Onua - I feel that would clash with Gali since you'd have two even more similar wise/voice of reason type characters. Lewa and Pohatu again could both fit a similar happy/optimist sort of role - I chose Pohatu because I having a sporty/physical kind of girl would be cool. I feel that having Kopaka/Tahu would allow for a fun relationship between the two and chose Kopaka in the end from personal preference probably due to Tahu being so iconic as he is.
  22. Congratulations! That must have been amazing news! The circle of life from fan to creator is now complete.
  23. Totally getting this!! So little for the greatest invention ever!
