    Ultimately I'd say the new story and setting/characters didn't gain traction fast enough for people to develop a connection to them and so on that side of things it kind of fizzled out rather than building to the climax as was originally planned. Can't really say for the sets, I thought they were pretty good for the most part - maybe I didn't like them as much as the previous years, but I wouldn't say they were bad and there were a few really good ones amongst them I thought.

    Pridak and Karzahni are probably my favourite two I'd say with a slight edge towards Pridak, I really liked him and his strategic methods and I thought he was a good leader.

    I agree, makes me think there will not only be some sort of time powers (or characters? Probably not but time characters would be cool....) but it will probably be a key plot device in someway. I'm all for this makes for super interesting stories when done well.

    It's worth it to feel like an internet forum lord - I'd go for it if you have the money - if not get a smaller one and save up for a lifetime when that one runs out?

    I always thought it came from the Lego theme Adventurers. Learned something today. That incidentally was one of my favourite themes back in the day - didn't play a part in the creation of my name though as far as I'm aware. Maybe subconsciously.

    This username and a couple of my others were basically chosen since the letters in it vaguely resemble my real name and "Adventurer" in particular evokes a nice Bionicle feel I think (the Takua/MNOG kind of Adventurer ).

    As mentioned above, they seem to be shown to have strength in numbers as well as their being higher ranks/larger types of spiders. In addition to that though, it's good to start the new series with a somewhat less formidable foe IMO as it means it won't be too difficult to "up the stakes" for the next villains - an issue present to some extent in the original storyline (not really an issue IMO but it was a factor when you look at how powerful a Piraka was compared to say a Visorak or something). I actually am liking the spiders as villains - reminds me of the Rahi in 2001.

    Really love these videos - the artstyle, dialogue and manerisms of the characters are really well done! The narrator himself is quite good, though the Toa could probably use a bit of work. Great sense of humour throughout these and really liked a few allusions to the original series (or what I thought were allusions, like Tahu's first line ). Looking forward to having these come out over the coming weeks - I also think they should be quite cool to watch as one once they're all released. On the note of the Takua like character - it'll be interesting to see if they follow similar archetype developments with the parallels to the original, or take a different route. Either way will be exciting to see.

    Possibly one of my favourite bits of the movie (except maybe for the where are my pants guy ), but have been struggling to justify the cost - I will be getting a a chunk of new money in January and this does seem to be the best set in the series... Time will tell if I man up and get it. This review was certainly helpful to my decision, thank you!

    Pretty good trailer - had the right "Bionicle" feel to it imo, however I do agree it would have been better with some sort of narration or dialogue.

    Congratulations to all of them, I was right in assuming nothing I could build would hold a candle to the top tier entries. Must say I'm really fond of the second place one, it feels like it conveys a really distinct character.

    Well this is definitely more than an easter egg (or at least I believe so, otherwise they would have just dropped it in once maybe twice ). Question is will this be the link to the original series, or will it stand alone? Traditionally the Vahi's powers wouldn't directly allow for a link along the lines I would assume they were aiming for (using a timeline split or some kinda thing like that), but that being said the story is written by them so is a possibility. Personally I kind of actually hope it's more an element of this year's story independent of the old stuff - not sure why but I think it'd be cool.

    I wish him all the best, he's definitely a very talented man and from what I've seen also a really nice person.

    Hard to say - I'll probably say the original Avohkii has a special spot in my heart. <3

    Oh man those old displays got me hyped. Most of the stores I visit these days tend to have Lego sections smaller than that so the Bionicle section is relegated to one set of shelving.

    My canister sets remained built and I've brought a few of them out - I've also got Toa Ignika who has come out to play as well.

    Takua/Takanuva and his adventuring.

    I was going to vote Exo-Toa, Bahrag or Nuhvok, but settled on the Boxor because I liked having a mainstream Matoran set at the time and it fit in really well with the online content from memory - or at least I had fun reliving those bits of the story at the time.

    Was initially thinking Lhikan, but decided to go with Nidhiki because his design was a bit more creative I think and still looked really cool. I also really liked Vakama and the Vahki in genreal (specifically the Onu and Ga ones).

    Mata Nui canister because Mata Nui in set form, yellow and had a really cool design and appearance.

    Toa Ignika because yellow, mask of life and sweet hoverboard. Second choice would be Takanuva.

    Initial/default vote for me would have been Takanuva since he's my fav character basically, but went with the Rahkshi because it was really cool to have a Rahkshi I'd heard about years ago finally in set form (and I'm highly biased towards the colour too ).

    This was another hard one, but ended up going Muaka & Kane-Ra. I could have voted one of the Toa or Nui-Rama as well, but I decided that the Muaka & Kane-Ra stands out not only for 2001 but all years.
