  1. Hot chocolate is great

  2. I must say I would have rathered they re-used Mata Nui AND Makuta, or not use either. It does feel kind of odd having one without the other. That being said I'm guessing they decided the Makuta name was iconic to the line similar to the Toa Mata, whereas Mata Nui who appeared exclusively in the media and story until the end of the original series probably wasn't particularly iconic for the line to the majority of fans.
  3. Either Onua and Gali to keep with tradition like others - or Pohatu because he looks cool.
  4. Strong yes for first 2 - it has a lot of potential I think. As for the last one, I do find it a bit weird that they've retained some of the original names, but not others (I would have preferred to not have Makuta or at least Mata Nui to go with him). That being said it's clear they've taken the most popular words from the old series and reused them so I understand why, but I think I would have preferred new names to be honest. Hopefully the Toa characters don't have too many differences to weird me out.
  5. I really like the general premise they've gone with and the style of the setting and story - very similar to original Mata Nui, but different enough to feel separate and unique. It does seem odd they re-used Makua and the Toa names but not Mata Nui, but I'm happy enough with the new names/characters they've used. I actually might have preferred it if they'd used a different name instead of Makuta. Must also say I really liked the animation/visual style of the video and hope we see more media of that sort throughout the year (I prefer the cartoon kind of style over the CGI sort of style). As for the story itself I really like the fact there's those three "legendary" masks it seems and the origin behind the one Makuta created. I also really really really really hope we get a game (RPG? ) set in Okoto and get to see the villages and lives interactively like with the previously online games. Overall I'm quite excited as I think this setup has a lot of potential.
  6. I quite like the general design of the sets (lots of features and elements I like such as the gears and weapons etc...) though I do agree the colour schemes seem a bit odd - I'm guessing there's a reason they put in the gold. Overall am quite happy and based on the sets I think Pohatu would be my favourite at the moment.
  7. Omg we almost saw things! Either way hopefully it ends up being a good showing.
  8. Thank you! I have never thought about it, but yes, the arms looks a bit our of proportions (even tough they aren't any longer than Mahir Nuparu's arms). I’ll experiment with some other arms, see how that goes. Also I don't quite get it what you mean by him looking busy, but you mentioned it may be the photo, and I kind of have like a 3D model off him in my head... so... and yes, the blue connector pieces is annoying, but I have ordered some gray ones - Hard to explain but I guess like when you first look at it, it takes a second to discern things and focus on each part of his structure? It kind of suits the style I guess though and I suspect it may very well be the photo. EDIT: Looking through the full album more carefully, I think it's my eyes getting distracted by the Onua claws on the front but also seeing the silver blades behind those? They both serve a similar purpose but clutter up his armpits a bit - maybe try experimenting with smaller silver armour pieces where the Onua claws are? Like the Nuva shoulder guards or something else (I'm not sure what would fit or look good I'm not super good at this stuff ).
  9. I quite like it! You definitely have the armoured tank look right. A few things that could be improved would maybe be the arm proportions (they look a bit long?), the many blades/long silver pieces aligned with each other make it look a bit busy in the photo (that could just be the photo though) and those two blue connector pieces used on the silver Onua claws on the chest are bugging me. Otherwise a nice version of Nuparu.
  10. There will definitely be increases in activity from new fans, I think the question is how much. The internet has evolved since the original line and whether the next generation choose a traditional bulletin board style forum or some other news discussion forum remains to be seen. I think the fact BZPower has an established community and resources will hopefully entice a good amount of newcomers here I hope.
  11. Probably a mix of something like Lewa,Takua and maybe someone like Zaktan or Mutran. I thought about this for a while and couldn't really think of any singular character that stood out to me, but those 5 are ones who's distinctive traits are shared with myself I believe.
  12. This looks a lot better and more creative than the regular combiners, I wonder why they didn't use this design in the west. I guess the style is a bit of a departure from the rest of the line.
  13. Man this community has some skilled sleuths! Such dedication! :') I quite like the name though, I'm liking all the little bits of info we've been picking up they seem to be pointing to a direction I quite like.
  14. Masks or other similar mystical collectibles in low cost packs I can mass purchase.
  15. No to all of them more or less - I wouldn't object to him being in the story in some way, but not as the role of any sort of primary antagonist in the plot. I'd rather something new and unknown in general. Same thought process applies to the use of other Makuta.
  16. The Slave ships have always been Lego Star Wars sets I've really wanted but never got and this seems to be an amazing iteration of the design. That being said not sure I'll be able to justify buying it hmm...
  17. I think the biggest mistake they could make in a broad sense would be trying to do too much with the line. Over analysing what made the original series successful and trying to emulate too many different aspects while additionally trying to put in new ideas they've thought of since then. I think they should begin by keeping things simple and not try to do too much initially and focus on doing what they do do, well. (If that makes sense). For a more specific answer I'd really not like them to ignore the themes and style that has been associated with the series, that is basically just using the Bionicle names for some generic dime a dozen line. :/
  18. This is so cool! Not just for what it actually is, but also kind of seeing how Lego presented the story and concepts behind closed doors. Thanks for sharing! Must be a very prized (collection of) possession(s).
  19. The tweet feed is nice - little social media integration things like this I suspect will become important for the survival of the site.
  20. Annoying, makes it harder to collect the set, particularly if its not available in all usual regions.
  21. Got the 256 GB i7 model - I'd been planning on getting one since the beginning of the year, so decided to go the bit extra and get one of the higher end models. And yeah I have a friend who uses OneNote for their lecture notes at uni, though I haven't attempted yet, may try so after the break to get used to using it. I have terrible hand writing as it is though so will see how it goes.
  22. Definitely seems like in the 90's and early 2000s the design process for the new lines involved reiterating some core elements and changing the variables. It seems very methodical in many ways, seeing which combination of elements (which were determined based on market research probably) would be a hit. They probably still do that but in a less noticeable way I guess? (Like so instead of story spill over, spill over in terms of the way the expanded universes and multimedia elements for certain lines are developed perhaps?)
  23. As mentioned previously - the images of him with the golden Kanohi in particular look straight out of the MNOG animations (specifically the Onua fight scene one). A really good MOC, my primary criticism would be the wide hips (makes his body shape/silhouette seem closer to Pohatu), but beyond that not much to say.
