  1. Couldn't not vote for the mega pretty Mask of Creation.
  2. Lesovikk and Vakama had the best characters personally, or at least the most interesting character developments. However my personal favourite is Takanuva.
  3. 2001: Muaka & Kane-Ra 2002: Nuhvok 2003: Takanuva 2004: Lhikan 2005: Keetongu 2006: Axonn (Maybe Brutaka too though...) 2007: Lesovikk or Hydraxon (Some of the Barraki are pretty high up there too though...) 2008: Bitil or Takanuva 2009: Mata Nui 2010: Takanuva
  4. well, i think the main thing shouldn't be to invent new physics, but rather to, i dunno. stop breaking the law of conservation of matter? just a suggestion. (elemental powers are something non-bionicle things have used without claiming their physics were "different", so that doesn't really stand as an excuse for this kinda stuff. :0) A way I like to think of it is if it were possible with the physics of our world, why can't we do it? see, that's where the "it's fiction" comes in, before you even say the word "physics". Bionicle is fiction, it doesn't need to explain its stuff, but it felt the need to anyway, for some odd reason. :0 I agree fictional world with fictional physics. I don't ever remember in the primary story or medium when it was explained? Most of the "theory" we have behind how things work has come from online and not really had a large part in the story?
  5. 1) Pohatu 2) Gali 3) Onua 4) Lewa 5) Tahu 6) Kopaka Hard to determine, my opinion on Lewa, Tahu and Onua are quite fluid a the moment. Pohatu is quite definitively at the top for me at the moment though.

  7. Australian and I say BeeZedPower. I do feel BeeZeePower is more appropriate, but saying Zee feels mega awkward and wrong for me.
  8. I think this kind of approach to the rules is a good idea with the size of the community at the moment. It can encourage a bit more discussion in terms of topics lasting a bit longer and evolving as well as members feeling better about opening topics. Typically in the past I feel topics were closed once there original purpose had been served to keep the forums neat and orderly and easy to navigate and find discussion you're interested in, but since the forums aren't as busy as they once were this isn't really a huge issue so I feel in general a change in this regard would be good. (Not really saying much here except it was something I was thinking a couple of weeks ago so I'm glad the staff are thinking the same things I have been. )
  9. Given how much trouble we had/have understanding our universe, it's kind of understandable Greg didn't/doesn't have a complete theory of how the physics of Bionicle work. well, according to Greg, yes. granted, that's regarded as one of his worst canon decisions ever, but it's there. On this point, the physics -has- to be different, there'd be far too many things happening in the Bionicle universe that aren't possible with out physics. As far as I'm aware he tended to take the fairly reasonable stance of "the physics is the same except where it can't be". That is it's only different where it needs to be to allow him to do what he needs to in the story. um. what, may i ask, required the physics of the world to be notably different from our own? (outside the proto-matter-garble, that is. though i don't think that really counts as a physics based problem? :0) Pretty sure you'd run into conservation of energy and action problems if you took our current approach. Like there are work around, but I suspect any work around you had would just lead to another violation later on. I could go through a specific example at some point, but I'm fairly confident the ability to generate elements etc... and the transformations of elemental energies into actual effects wouldn't fit any current model we have.
  10. Toa Okoto or Toa Masters are the most logical and immediate and thus I believe simplest answers to this question. A lot of other options would either be unambiguous, confusing or not add clarity to their classification - the whole point of having a name. This could change in future though depending on any possible future Toa/Masters. But for now I think either of those terms suffice. Toa Okoto is nicer personally since it fits with other naming conventions nicely.

  12. Onua and Gali Mata - I chose to get Onua first but got Gali as well and built her first.
  13. I voted first option as that's the largest audience and the one that the majority of the work is aimed at. That being said that's not to say the older fanbase has no stake in the franchise and that shows in how Lego has gone about including us in the unveiling of the new line. It's obviously not a black and white "who can claim it", it's shared, but definitely weighted towards the primary targets, with some considerations to the secondary targets.
  14. Getting the Witch King set now with some other small thing I've been meaning to get - will save the larger ones I want (probably Smaug...) till I have more money.
  15. This is so cool! Whilst I know without a doubt nothing I put together will stand a chance - am super keen to see what people create for this. With such a big contest and such a cool prize, I think people will be pulling out all stops (or whatever the saying is) so we should get some cool villains. (May still try and enter after exams - 0.0001% chance is better than 0%, right? )
  16. Probably more the story - but for me it's not so much the storyline itself, rather the lore and world that is developed and that incorporates the set designs too so I voted both.
  17. Personally I would say 2005, though 2010 did feel pretty weak but I understand why and it feels unfair to include it in such a comparison. Also to whoever said 2006 had bad online games or whatever - I really really liked VNOG.
  18. I like this, more time to plan ahead and get a good final product and shows they're not trying to cash in the short term. Also probably a result of a large amount of high profile project Lego seems to have in the pipeline - moreso than ever before it seems.
  19. "Primary weapon: Jeterangs that can be used as Stormarangs." A made up things that can be used as another made up thing. Sweet.
  20. The armour pieces make it look like he should be able to transform into an armoured ball or something like a Bohrok or something similar. That being said I think his design is fine but as with some of the other Toa, the colour scheme probably could have been done better. I'm actually quite curious about the whole metallic piece thing. It feels a bit erratic - they must have something specific in mind.
  21. I feel like a good name would incorporate the word "Chronicle" somehow - given it's recurring significance in the franchise (or at least the original one). Between Takua, Hahli and the name Bionicle itself... Also in addition to references to the Archives - references to the Wall of History or anything like that could also be cool.
  22. Hopefully they have enough material for the Batman parody kind of character to stand on its own for a full movie - part of the reason TLM was so good is nothing was done too much IMO and there were lots of hilarious little elements. Still Batman was one of the strongest bits of TLM so hopefully it will deliver.
  23. They might be a nice edition if done correctly. And the best guide was definitely the locations guide - the artwork was beautiful and it gave so much interesting and tantalizing information on places and cultures we knew of but hadn't seen properly. The writing style was also better than some of the others I thought too - gave information, but not too much. It created more mystery than it revealed. I'd definitely like another book of that style.
  24. I'd say 2006 had a good storyline - the problem was it didn't really feature in the game at all beyond the setting and characters used.
