  1. Hey LO, I'm need some help - do you have any custom-made Toa bodies that I could perhaps get instructions for? I want to MOC a Toa or something similar again, except my only resources are Inika builds and I'm tired of using those, but I can't do anything custom on my own, yet...halp?

I don't mean to intrude, but I think I have some interesting torso designs that I can show you, that is only if neither you or LO minds :)

  2. Actually I feel the latter years and the ending were the most elegant. 2001-2003 seem like really simple stories; it starts to get complex in 2004, but it's not as complex as 2008 yet. I guess what I really like are all the story serials, even if the Olmak is way overpowered and too convenient. Now I did mention that I liked the ending, but I still think the golden armor was dumb - it just came out of nowhere and seemed to have had little to no explanation, other than everyone needed to fight over it, because...well, it was shiny, I guess. But everything with the moons reuniting and the Matoran living with the Agori and everything post-Stars, story-wise, I did like.
  3. It's my belief that it's completely impossible for Greg to write himself into a corner; he's always got some explanation or another, even if it's just made up on the fly. I think every Toa team suffers from this problem, to be honest. The problem with having masks that are too convenient - such as Detection (as mentioned), Water-Breathing, Translation, Fate, Kindred, Summoning - is that they suffer from one of two things: either they can only be used in very specific situations (such as water-breathing or translation), or they're way too overpowered and really no other skill is needed but the mask (such as inter-dimensional teleportation or fate (I'm talking about the Calix, btw)). However, I think a fine line has to be drawn, because obviously Greg can't give them masks that are completely useless and have maybe one or two uses total, but at the same time he shouldn't give them masks that are too convenient or too overpowered.
  4. Stars Takanuva. Ironically, I bought it at the same store where I'd bought my first Bionicle set, which was Onua Mata.
  5. I'm still deciding whether or not to get this for Christmas. I mean, it's a neat set, but...do I really have use for a hippie van? ...unless I can get the hippie minifig from the new minifig series...
  6. Some of the things I do are considered kinda girly by 'average' guys - i.e. drinking/making tea, doing laundry, candles, cute things such as kittens, organization, etc. - but a lot of people at my school are the same way, both guys and girls, so I don't really feel ashamed of any of that. ...ok, I do kinda like Chad Vader singing Friday.
  7. Your banner, I approve of it (even though the only BDM album I've listened to is Nocturnal).

  8. System-Built Creations. ...am I seriously the only one who appreciates the fact that System MOCs now have their own sub-sub-forum...?
  9. Definitely comics and comedies, because I just...do not like being there, but I'd also say places like RPG, BS01, and B/S/T, because I just never use those forums.
  10. At first I was like 'trololol cool,' but then I remembered that I have people who hate me, here.
  11. Dude, I am -loving- the av/ban.

  12. 1. Yes.2. Well my life became miserable due to several changes outside of BZP, but I think that overall I may or may not be a bit more mature, now.3. Definitely - especially among MOCists, I'm noticing a lot more skill from people who just didn't have it, before the forums went down.4. Nurrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  13. Mmm, vanilla chai...any other tea connoiseurs on here?

  14. They're only for holding my pocket watches; they're not aesthetic at all. Well, not really. Just ignore them. And maybe this post.
  15. To add to the conversation: (thanks, BSO1!) But basically you can see here that Le-Matoran are playing musical instruments, almost the same instruments played in marching bands (minus the drums), in Le-Koro. Where Lewa primarily resides.
  16. Wow. I got the email notification for this topic, and I clicked on the link to the video, and...just wow. This is ingenious. I've never seen your first version of this, but I'm sure since I saw this one first, I'd be kinda disappointed. Where do I even start...? I'm still just baffled by the concept, and it's really inspiring me to build a Zamor marble-machine-contraption-thingy. It's bloody brilliant. The addition of the Rahi and all 6 breeds of Matoran also help to give it a bit of flair, especially on the Le- and Po-Koro sections. Also, that the Matoran are in action instead of just sitting there stagnant, i.e. fishing out of a river and carving a stone statue instead of just lazing around like Matoran do, really adds to the excitement of it. I really only have two recommendations for it - firstly, that you put the Onu-Matoran in a bit more action. I'd say he's the only exception to the activeness of the whole thing that I talked about, earlier; it just looks like he's sitting there. And maybe throw in some Lightstone mines or something. Which leads into my second suggestion - try to clean up a bit on the beams on the bottom. It just looks like a bit of landscape/mashed diorama-ing with major holes that are just begging to get filled in by even more landscaping/mashed diorama-ing. But don't get me wrong, this thing is wonderful, and the video definitely put a smile on my face.

  18. Shufflin' around all my Brickshelf mess....

  19. A new deadly weapon at an inconvenient time in history, built by and for a most inconvenient of peoples... 123456789Folder (when public)This is my baby. I built this for a story I'm currently working on - a Steampunk story - but unfortunately this MOC is no longer assembled. =[so it's got a minigun and a high-powered rifle on the right hand, a Gauss cannon on the left hand, and a laser on the head. Yes, it was built off of who you think it looks like. No, I'm not ashamed. The wheels on the feet are there for next to nothing. I think they just look cool and Steampunk-ish.Personally my only complaint on this one is the ankles - I was never able to fill them in good, even in the earlier version (seen here). It was a ton of fun to build, though - and if I could recommend to you guys one thing at all to build, just take your already existing sets and Steampunk them.
  20. I've only heard two of the tracks off of the Smash Bros. Brawl soundtrack - Fire Emblem Medley and Song of Fire Emblem - both were pretty epic, especially the latter. Also, anyone into the Castlevania music? I'm talkin' anything from the original NES game up to Super IV on SNES. Bloody Tears, anyone?
  21. Never seen Legacy. But I'm a die-hard for the original film. Ahhh, the 80's.
  22. OHAI WAIT GUISE Animal Crossing! I love the music on AC because it makes me feel like I'm playing through a Peanuts cartoon or something (and Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas happens to be my all-time favorite Christmas music, but that's another story for another time).
  23. So I don't really follow LotR outside of the movies; I love it, but I'm not that in-depth into it (I did at least attempt to read Fellowship of the Ring, but I just got lost (I have actually read through the Hobbit, though)). BUT. Gandalf the Gray costume. =D (that was made for Senior Citizen Day for Spirit Week at my school, and YES that IS an undershirt on my face)
  24. The story of where the jack o'lantern came from is also from Ireland. According to legend, there was a drunk named Stingy Jack who tricked the devil into sparing his soul from Heck. When Jack died and he went up to Heaven, he was denied entry because of his lifestyle of drinking and lying; he went to Heck and begged to be taken in, but the devil refused him, living up to his promise. Instead, however, the devil gave him an ember to keep in a turnip, marking him a denizen of the netherworld. He became known as Jack of the Lantern.Jack of the Lantern -> Jack O'Lantern
  25. Ahh, Thylon. I've missed seeing your stuff, man, I gotta tell ya.Anyways, love this. Basically the same firing function that the Rockoh's got built into it, but I do like the compact design of a pistol. You have any more of these Technic firearms...?
