  1. I'mma just repost this... I'm going to repost the reposting. -MT
  2. So that's three volunteers between Burnmad, Quisoves, and Dapper. Anyone else want in or should we open this up to a vote now? -MT
  3. I agree, but by the same token, you don't learn everything regardless of how many times you host. I think first time is a good benchmark. It gives people a sense as to the ups and downs of running a game as well as someone to bounce ideas off of for roles. Once someone has a game under their belt and has a general idea of how to empower roles in order to make a fair game, then I say we take the training wheels off. -MT
  4. Sounds good. How about we do this for side games from here on out: If it's someone's first game hosting, let's keep the old Point strategy in place and have them host with some help from a longstanding player. That can go in the Point series. If it isn't, then it can be a standard side game. Only one would go on at a time, and we'd alternate between having a side game running and a point game running depending on who was hosting. -MT
  5. No, point has failed twice, I don't think we should try again. While that's true, one was under a GM that disappeared entirely, and one was under Pupwa, which needs no explanation. -MT
  6. Maybe we ought to bring back the Point series for its original purpose? -MT
  7. Come on Burnmad. That's just not cool. -MT
  8. Hopping on board the Burnwagon. I'll vote Shadowhawk. -MT
  9. No please. Let's not draw this out any more than need be. -MT
  10. I'll vote Aiwendil. We might as well bring this to a swift and merciful end for the Makuta. -MT
  11. I...can't say I remember that rule either. Although it might be a necessity for this game considering all the inactivity. -MT
  12. The night will not be a night of sorrow. Because there ain't no party like a village party. -MT
  13. Made the mistake of saying that Twilight Princess was only popular due to it being a Zelda title. I barely survived the ensuing ambush.

  14. Sometimes this annoying thing called real life gets in the way. -MT What's that? This. -MT
  15. Sometimes this annoying thing called real life gets in the way. -MT
  16. Or maybe... THE SHADOW IS A MURDERER TOO. -MT
  17. Well I have no idea what happened here. Anyone want to go for 0.8 or should we just abandon this series? -MT
  18. I think there's a distinction between dark and serious that should probably be made here. A dark game is one that actively tries to be foreboding and imposing (such as Lloyd's game, where the few scenes he did write were intended to impress a sense of dread upon the player), whereas a serious one is simply a game that doesn't act silly. From the few scenes of XVI that we've had so far, I'd say it's a game that takes itself seriously, but it isn't what I'd call dark, or at least no more dark than the usual Mafia game. Just for distinction's sake, you can have a serious game without being dark, and sometimes a dark game without being serious (though it's hard to give the impression that things are really screwed up when you're telling jokes frequently). So to answer the question, no, I don't think your games are too dark. If the question is altered to: "Do I think your games are too serious," again, no. Just write with whatever atmosphere you think suits the game best, provided you think you can do it well. -MT
