1. Ah, gotcha, never mind then. The question on the multiple choice still stands though--has anyone else voted for more than two entries? I don't want to mess up the results by voting for more.... :S I think you can vote for as many as you want. Some people are just voting for two in the multiple choice section. If there was a limit it'd probably be mentioned. Alright, cool. Done. Good luck all!

3. I'm thinking of choosing three entries in the first poll--is that allowed or is it limited to just two? Also, I noticed a couple of (very minor) canon issues. Neither one would pose any significant problems if the entries win: All That Glitters (Spiriah): viruses are described as "microbes engineered to alter their very essence" but I'm not sure if they've been described as alive in the past. BS01 just refers to them as "energy-based substances." The Unknown Turaga (Kodan): Nidhiki is described as "huge, nearly invisible creature, with massive claws that glinted in the thin beam of morning sunlight that had miraculously flickered by us." While he had a Mask of Stealth as a Toa, I'm pretty sure Nidhiki lost those powers after being mutated. Never mind, that's actually Eliminator. See below.
4. It's awesome that you want to experience the original story! As fishers said, start out with the Mata Nui Online Game. It's available in two versions. If you create an account on the BioMedia Project here, you can play a version that saves to your account. Otherwise, here's a version of the game divided into chapters--think of it like scene selection on a DVD, where you can't save but you can start from predefined checkpoints. Have fun! Edit: Oh, one more thing: others might disagree with me on this, but I'd advise against jumping into wikis right away. One of the greatest appeals of the story was its mystery--I mean, robots on a tropical island, what's that about? Secrets were slowly revealed and the world became more fleshed out over time. Wikis are written as if everything has already happened in-story; they're a useful resource (and BIONICLEsector01, the main BIONICLE wiki, is exceptional compared to your run-of-the-mill fandom wiki), but reading wiki articles is not quite the same as experiencing the story the way LEGO told it.

That's right--there can only be one Dimensioneer.
6. I'm with V-N on this one--using existing powers in a positive way is far more interesting than changing them. However, as has been said already, the MNOLG 2 names are definitely problematic (personally I don't mind Prosperity and Faith as much as Creation since that would get way confusing). Also, if we're going to canonize "moral" versions of the supposedly "immoral" Mata Nui Rahkshi powers, there are other Makuta powers we could change too (Confusion for example). Do we really want to fall into that rabbit hole?
7. It seems Av-Matoran aren't the most likely tribe to become Toa: Greg post 1: 1) Said where, I can't find a reference to that. 3) I would say no. 4) No. If you are not destined to be a Toa, you do not have any energy in you that can be sparked by a Toa stone, and the Ignika cannot put that there. Source Reply and Greg quote 2: Source I think this is the right call TBH. It never made much sense, and a character being wrong isn't that bad as far as retcons go.
8. I think an issue BS01's had for a while is that it doesn't have one visual identity. I've put a lot of effort into giving it some consistency--some of it can be subtle, but I like to think it makes a difference. It's fine if we decide to change, but if we do that we need to figure out where we want to be and we need to make a concerted effort to get there. If we want to go with bevels that's cool; if we want to go for a dark skin that's cool. But we have to consider how each of those changes will mesh with everything else before we full steam ahead. For example, a dark background is fine, but with a transparent white foreground above it the site feels inconsistent and makes a lot of the content hard to see. Meanwhile, a transparent dark foreground on a dark background is better I think, but it still requires a lot of colors to be changed so content can be legible/not painful to read. And so on. Anyway, that's my spiel. And we should totally use Refreshed.
9. It can be hard to make things look organic in CCBS, but you really nailed it here. I'm really impressed at the way all the armor pieces flow into each other, especially around the hips--it makes it feel like skin instead of armor. The head completes that weird reptilian look. If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get that black Quaza spike from? I don't think I've seen it before. If I had to offer a suggestion, I'd recommend changing out the gold Breakout torso piece for something else, since the mechanical detailing on it feels out of place with the rest of the MOC. Great job, good luck!
10. Really impressed by the turnout for this one. And if it's anything like BftGM there's going to be a ton of entries in the next three hours. Anyway, for all those hunting through this topic for MOCs, here's Keetongu! Good luck all!
11. Prophecy tells us of an ancient shaman whose meditation transcends time itself. When Okoto needs him most, follow the trail of falling tears until they reach the sky… Flickr set Brickshelf gallery (when public) Turning the axle connected to his shield gets it spinning with the same cool whoosh effect the original had. And of course, what's a Keetongu revamp without a hidden chest-mounted blaster? I've been a member for seven years and this is my first BBC contest. Crazy. Comments and criticism appreciated!
12. I wonder if he's reading this thread and is feeling very sad and offended that almost nobody likes his name. Hey that's me! Don't worry, I'm not offended. Bit late to the party, but I went with Mata Nui Cow per fishers. Although Mukau does have a ring to it.
13. Does anybody know the name of the grunge font LEGO is using in Gen 2? Here's an example of what I'm referring to--it's the font "Golden Masks" and the Protectors' names are written in. It also makes appearances on the new packaging and at the start of the Toa animations. I've run it through some font identification tools and done a cursory look through some font sites, but to no avail. Any insights appreciated!
14. This is awesome! You really managed to capture the style of the animations. One thing I might suggest is figuring out how to make the weapon have two forms like all the other Toa's do (e.g. Tahu's swords turn into a lava surfboard). Would you mind if I animated this?
15. Flickr Brickshelf A mysterious shaman that wanders the jungles of Okoto. Only ever seen at a distance or in the corners of brave adventurers' eyes, it is rumored that he guards the great Masks of Power scattered across the land from all who seek them. C&C greatly appreciated!
16. Entry name: Voodude A mysterious shaman that wanders the jungles of Okoto. Only ever seen at a distance or in the corners of brave adventurers' eyes, it is rumored that he guards the great Masks of Power scattered across the land from all who seek them. Entry picture: color corrected version--please use if allowed / original, non-color corrected version if needed Gallery: link (note: all images here save the one mentioned above are color corrected) (Edit 1: modifying description; Edit 2: adding this message; Edit 3: adding note to gallery link)
17. Interesting. So does that mean Lesovikk kept a Cordak Blaster on his sled as a way to remind himself of his failure?
18. That name choice is pretty interesting IMO since it's pretty clearly derived from Latin (corusco can mean "I flash, glitter"). You never really think of Latin names showing up during pre-Umbra, but evidently TLG was taking some classical inspiration even in the early years (the only other example I know of is Ignalu from ignis "fire" and nalu, which is Hawaiian for "wave"). The form coruscant "they flash, glitter" is supposedly where Coruscant from Star Wars got its name as well (although apparently the word "coruscant" has made its way into English independently of the planet).

Font Test

Actually, it works fine when I'm on my partition that has Office installed. Since CPGB comes with Office, did you uninstall it recently, etc.?

Font Test

I'm seeing Times New Roman, but the page source says the text is in CPGB. I think the browser is falling back to the default serif font, which in this case is TNR, since CPGB isn't on my computer. Setting the font to just plain old Copperplate (which I do have on my computer) and bolding it separately works for me: test test
21. Hi! I'm afraid your signature is too big... check out http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/2-bzpower-signature-avatar-guidelines/ for the guidelines. :)

22. Huh. If only some of them came with a white rubber band that makes it even weirder, since would suggest an inventory issue, but I got Keelerak and Vohtarak at the same time and Vohtarak came with a yellow rubber band. Master Inika, good call, I'll probably go ahead and replace them--I'm sure I have some extra white ones somewhere. Still lends the question of why they didn't just use white ones for all of them though; they're definitely more durable and they're pretty common so I doubt they're that expensive to produce.
23. I have a copy of all six Visorak, and all of them but Keelerak have thin yellow rubber bands that are now broken, while Keelerak has a thicker white one that's still fine. Based on some searching I know my Keelerak isn't a fluke and is supposed to have a different rubber band than the others, but does anybody know why TLG chose to do that?
