  1. This is pretty much it, and, again, I'm not threatening anyone. What I'm saying is that the games' occasional passing references to Lego aren't enough to warrant them being in a Lego-centric forum, so future games will need to bring in some more. If that doesn't work with a mafia concept you have, you can move the game to COT--the mafia games wouldn't be shut down, they'd just have to go through a different process to be posted.I'm really not trying to be "overly picky." Since the staff changes and posting of a new rules topic, we've been trying to make sure that the topics here fit with the rules--including mafia games. The Cult topic caught our attention more than past topics have, and that led to the reminder of G&T's Lego requirements. And Blade mentioned this, but there's some more information about the Lego requirements in this blog entry's comments that might make things clearer.
  2. Yeah, mentioning parts of the BZ Metru (or wherever) setting would be good. You're right in saying that the connections with Lego don't always make it across to us; even though the city might be Lego and the characters Bionicle species, those connections aren't always easy to see, especially if it becomes more of an unspoken piece of knowledge after several mafia games. Taking away the ambiguity by referencing locations or Bionicle species more consistently would probably be enough of a change.
  3. What I was trying to say was that the mafia games' Lego references were too sparse, and then calling a single item in a game by a Lego name isn't enough. The "more than just names" was meant as a reference to each game's single Lego aspect, but I see where that wasn't clear. So the issue was that the only Lego inspiration in either game was a title for an otherwise non-Lego feature. One was called "Bionicle" in title, but had no mention of Bionicle anywhere else and was set in what seems to be a normal city. The other didn't have a Lego-related title and was taking in roles from TF2--the only partially Lego aspect of that was the cult being named after Hapori Dume. I think one of the best places to bring in Lego would be the "scene" posts (the rest of the discussion between members probably isn't well-suited to being stuffed with Lego references), which could really bring the game into some Lego world. You don't necessarily have to change the names of roles, especially the classic mafia roles, but it could help bring in more Lego--for instance, calling the villagers Matoran and setting the game on Mata Nui could effectively make the scenes much more Bionicle-y. Using a Lego theme other than Bionicle could also give you more freedom in making roles; themes like Adventurers or City could bring in Lego features without making you integrate something like mask powers into a role. Of course, if you did something like that, you'd need to be sure not to just have, say, a Lego City game title and nothing else--you'd need to reference bricks, sets, official characters, or something in scenes. And I guess I might as well throw this out there--saying that a TF2 mafia belongs in COT isn't supposed to be a threat. I'm just saying that it doesn't work with G&T's Lego rules. It's fine if you want to play a TF2 mafia, and now that Than's been more active, you could probably get one approved more quickly than before. Hopefully that helps clear things up a little? If not, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have and explain anything else that wasn't clear.
  4. Yes, part of the new upgrade is a new way of dealing with the warning (proto, for us) system. It's more public, with each member having access to his/her own warning log, which contains a record of most proto adjustments. Additionally, members can chose to be notified of their proto adjustments through the notification system. The "points" are there because Invision adopted a new points-based warning system, but BZP's proto system won't be changing--each action will be one point up or down (with a minimum of -5 and a maximum of 5). No, higher is better; points added represent proto increases, while points taken represent proto decreases. Having positive proto (closer to a full bar) is a good thing.edit- I regret nothing =p
  5. Thanks for your help, everyone!Question answered; topic closed.
  6. Leaith, please don't post in BBC topics that have been inactive for twenty or more days; that's considered revival. Before you continue posting in Bionicle-Based Creations, please read over the forum's rules and guidelines. That will give you a better idea of how the forum works.Topic closed.
  7. Hi Leaith, welcome to BZPower! When you're posting in a topic, you should take a look at the date of the last post made in the topic. If an extended amount of time has passed since that post (twenty days in the BBC forum), the topic is dead and should not be posted in--posting in the topic is considered revival. Unfortunately, this topic hasn't been posted in since April 19, so your post revived it. In the future, please remember to make sure a topic is still alive before you post in it. =)Topic closed.
  8. First off, I apologize for not posting this earlier. I didn't have the time to do so while the topic was open.Recently, we have had some concerns about the mafia games in this forum; in their current state, they don't really belong in this forum, since they're only tangentially Lego-related. Due to their high turnover rate and longstanding presence in G&T, we have not yet taken action, but because there are now multiple games that are developing further away from Lego, we cannot continue to do this without being unfair to other games (of which we have required more than just passing Lego references). This game was especially problematic, as you've been incorporating more content from non-Lego areas and will be expanding this in the next game. I'm afriad that if you're going to have a TF2-inspired mafia game, regardless of whether or not you have a BZP-named cult in it, you will need to move it to the Completely Off Topic forum. If you want to keep hosting mafia games in G&T, you're going to need to bring Lego back into them in more than just names. You could perhaps work Bionicle or Hero Factory powers into the scenes or role abilities; other Lego themes could offer interesting abilities, as well.I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any questions about this, please PM either myself or Windrider.
  9. Yes, you can, and they're still in this forum, not the archives. Each forum is set to only show topics that haven't passed their revival limits, to discourage members from bumping them. To access more topics, click on "Custom" in the blue bar above the topic list of a forum (by default, "Recently Updated" is selected there) and set "Time frame" to "Show All." Then you can look through all of the topics in a forum. If you're looking for a specific topic, you could also try searching for it; in most cases, searches aren't restricted by date.
  10. You'd need to use an image editing program, like MS Paint or GIMP, to resize it; you can't resize it in BZP.If you want, here are a few resizes of your current banner that you could use: Here is a version cropped into the maximum 800x300 px area for sigs; you couldn't have any text with this one. Here is a 500x200 px version, which you could use with some text. And here is the full sig resized to 300px in height, if you don't want to cut any of the images out. You could put text next to this, but not above or below it.Also, in the future, please post any image-related questions you have in the Pictures Topic. =)
  11. Cinnamon Toast Crunch has had some...interesting commercials lately.
  12. That's the one that's been getting me, too. I've started clicking on the "BZP Forums" link beneath the members tab, now; it's a little quicker than thinking of where the new forum tab is for me.
  13. Forums and Members switched as well. It's weird and annoying and, sadly, not easily fixable. =| I keep clicking the wrong tabs.
  14. I see it there, just moved...unless you're talking about a different button?
  15. That's been a feature since the first upgrade, only now it has a button that probably can't be taken out. We might use that when BZP gets more skins--one use of it would allow members to set a specific skin to always be used in their blog. Its other use, customized CSS, probably would not be used because every edit requires admin approval--it would be very time consuming for the admins to go through every customization request and make sure that none of the changes break anything.
  16. Ziko

    Oh Look Bzp's Back

New blog feature working? Not on BZP. =P
  17. Ziko

    Huh What's This...

So many new buttons that don't do anything. XP
  18. Ziko

    Acronym Tag

Some browsers did that before the upgrade; the rest just joined in after. I agree, though...I miss the secret acronyms. The dotted line also looks weird behind transparent images.
  19. Some more staff members have been moved to the Retired Staff groups now: Cajun, ccso35, Screenguy, Taka-Tahu-Nuva, Apollo, and *onua nuva* fan.
  20. You need to PM a Forum Leader of the forum in which you want an official topic. Keep the following in mind, though, when you're looking for approval: That's from the Completely Off Topic rules. There are some exceptions to that, such as help topics in the Shops & Kits forum (submitting a topic for a approval there is needed so the staff knows that the topic will actually be helpful), but generally those are the requirements.
  21. Yes, customized creations like that go here instead of a Lego-Based Creations forum, since the customizing/art techniques are the focus rather than the Lego construction.
  22. It's that time then, I suppose.Temporarily closing at the author's request.
  23. Happy birthday, Koth! I hope you have a great day. =D
