  1. I'd dig combining a real person's name that worked on Bionicle, like Greg! Gretey or Fareg Both are silly, makes sense to for them to be covered up and kept secret!
  2. I think this belongs in the Library. Even if it's in a "science document" format and what not, this is definitely it's own story full of original ideas that don't have too much backing. Reminds me of bonesiii's retelling. Still, good read I've enjoyed it.
  3. Ahh the gender-swapped characters. I don't think I would do G3 honestly, if I was given the power to influence the decision, I would pull the plug and make someone do a solid ending to G1 . Or make G3 a far in the future G1 story.
  4. It's a fun building experience, but I think the Jetrax tops it overall
  5. I see SM species as organic protodermis intolerant, so if they were to had the organic bits, they would have some nasty stomach aches and gas problems.
  6. Probably keep them, unless they bwcome extremely valuable in the next 20-30 years or so.
  7. I really loved Destiny War and Federation of Fear. Also, can't forget the showdown between Teridax and Brutaka, or Irnakk and Zaktan.
  8. Element lord.. Of water probably. Then I coukd be one with the ocean for all eternity.
  9. The interesting thing then would be the phrasing of that objective. If it's 'destroy MU inhabitants', he's an enemy. If it's more along the lines of 'protect Agori', then there could be an alliance. It's actually "destroy Toa". Remember how freaked out Agonce was when he saw that the protodermis cage was already opened and Marendar was out?
  10. I imagine Marendar would be like Umbra: sapient, but with a primary undeniable objective on the top of his list.
  11. I think it looks dope, love the claws and layered armor. Maybe more matared, yes? Also tips on getting people to give you feedback: deep link, provide thumbnails, and take pics in better lighting for darker figures.
  12. Poor marketing, unattractive/confusing lore/story. Simple as that really.
  13. Well, I think I'd prolly go with HoA, went solo after they disbanded, then got with the League, and finally ended up with the DH after the league died out.
  14. Sailor, your responses have been really hostile, somewhat entitled and overall give sort of a violent vibe. You should be able to control your emotions in a discussion and not scream at someone to stop posting in a thread like a 5 year old would. Trust me, I'd love if you' d do the latter but alas I'm not trying to scream it at you. Tl;dr chill out holmez.
  15. No gender locks, male to female ratio 2:1. Bam. Done, next.
  16. Man, this is gonna go up in flames like a pile of sawdust. Anyway, yes, 1:1 and yes. I do think that most elements should be divided male/female equally and have a 2:1 dominance of their respective main element.
  17. *pulls out sword* *growls* *ahem* Yeah, I guess we can... The problem that Greg as a writer has is a "male as default" mindset. To him, a character is male until proven otherwise. And that's kinda gross because it paints females as an "offshoot" of males. Even when he was told that Psionics was going to be a female element, he still wrote a male character. I've been told "g1 is done, wait for g2". And yeah the old story is finished. But g2 hasn't been any better. The only confirmed female character is Gali. Even the Water Protector is referred to with male pronouns on the official Lego website, and if the "passed down from father to son" bit about the Protector's masks is literal, it could mean that Gali is the only female on the island. And that's even worse than g1. At least g1 had an all-female tribe even if the rest were males. Lemme slide in here real quick, and agree with you on some things, but offer my own trail of thought on others. I do agree that G1 had a little bit *too* much of a guy presence and did seem quite unbalanced, however I think that it should be taken into consideration that we got quite a few female characters who got excellent development, while many of the male ones kind of blended withthe background. Pertaining to your statement about Greg being a "male default" writier is a problem, I'll have to stop you right there and remind yall that: A) it's artistic license, every artist who has control over things practicesitin this era B) Bionicle is/ has been marketed towards young boys. Since this is the target, it's very much safer for Lego to release a story that has an overwhelming amount of male characters to go with it (ex. GI Joe, Legends of Chima, Ninjago, etc). In regards of G2 being worse at balancing their gender, I'll agree with you completely since so far we have a 1:13 (counting Makuta and Ekimu) ratio going and I doubt that will change much seeing the direction this line is headed into. Again, this goes into marketing strategy. It might be 2:12. We don't know the PoW's gender yet. Or PoI, or PoJ, or PoS, or PoE. PoF is the only one to have had any vocals in the animations, and was characterized as male. The other five have been given no such distinction. There's the father-to-sun statement, also wasn't the PoW confirmed to be make in like a rescent thing on the website? Either way, I doubt any of the Protectors will be female guys. :/
  18. I'll say this is a bad idea, you might get the man offended and strain the relationship that BZP has with Greg in terms of dictating what would be canon or not. I just think in the case of "who are you to tell me to stop canonizing my story" BZP will have less liberty to make their impact, and this privelage will perhaps go into the hands of the younger fans at LMB who might not put in a lot of thought if they ask for something to be canonized, while here at BZP we have actually started discussing things before shooting then at Greg. On that note, really proud of the community. :')

  20. This poses an interesting question: why did the GBs program this defficiency in the Matoran? I guess they could have interperted it this way, but the idea seems too fanatical in order for then to interpert it this way.
  21. You are aware that, with translations, English doesn't always have parallels in other languages, right? The original transcript used no pronouns. During translation, they would have used the next closest term or phrase to describe the event, which in this case required them to use a masculine pronoun because that's probably all they had in that department. French and English are pretty transitionable in terms of translating, they are neighbors and French/Latin has had an influence on many English phrasings just sayin. I think it would be cool for plasma to be female, it makes sense in my head, but then again to we really want more retcon?
