I'm a Canon user myself, but I have little brand loyalty as far as cameras go - if it works/has a good reputation, I'm cool with it.

I have noticed when looking at photography courses and such here in Canada that they tend to specify certain Nikon cameras, whereas Canon is mentioned less frequently - but that could also simply imply a business partnership with Nikon.

All in all, my advice would be the same as Brickeens; if you have close friends or family that use one brand, it might be better to try that one out first.

I will name one Jimothy. 

I nickname my pokemon off of random folklore and random letters and syllables.

 

Most recently I nicknamed a Clefairy Clefaifai.

 

Nicknaming pokemon is a power I should not be allowed to have.

I actually caught a Female spinarak in route 30. Named it Shelob. It was impish so it fits the name.

Already named them Raze. Though if I happen to catch a mareep, since this is a Nuzlocke, I will name it thus. Though which version of your name? Tex, Voltex, Lucina?

 

Also already beat the first gym, Just barely., a well timed critical ember saved Raze's life. So have to make an update post.

Add on to the fact that a bunch of that -isn't- how we actually speak? I can say 'about' just the same as the rest of the world, and everyone I know says about that very same way; I've only really heard the accents from like a handful of people, or more prominently, from TV things.

 

(And let's not get started on that other thing you said, which kinda... leaves people out.)
