    question for OBZPCs

Still remember the day when mine (also maybe everyone else's) showed up red and in smallcaps. It's... different. The bronze makes me feel like I'm part of some elite club, but also like I've not earned it. I just got mine through a combination of Premier, referrals and maybe some other stuff? I don't really remember anymore Still, never got a penalty, so like that helps I guess

  4. About a month ago, I referred a user to BZPower. Little more than a week ago, they have made their first post in a category where posts do count. However, he is still listed as Pending when I go to the Referrals tab and neither of us have received any of the perks described in the topic on referrals in the Reference Desk. My question, in short, is this: is this the result of some sort of internal error, whether it be in the programming or configuration of the referrals system, or am I simply being too impatient and should wait more than a week before filing a veiled complaint? (The extended version of this question is: once a user has signed up through a referral link, has had their account activated and made a post that counted towards their Active Posts, is the process from then on automated or does the Staff have to manually assign and evaluate perks?)

  6. Looking at these two threads, it would seem like both lists and colours and not yet working properly. More specifically, while the color-tag is just listed as raw text in it's entirety, the starting list-tag seems to be missing. EDIT: While the actual list itself does not parse, the indentation it creates does and persists throughout the rest of the post. As a finishing touch, it also stacks with itself.
  7. Sorry, still really busy, just don't have the time for BZPower right now. See y'all later

  9. That was the plan, yes. Currently the site's offline due to..... ahem, "complications". It might tune back into the 'net again, it might not, but if it won't make it, I'll just release all the files currently in my possession. The website might be offline, but everything's still safe on my harddrive.

Perhaps you could play some Team Fortress 2, to increase the concentration of hats in the government.
  11. My recent inactivity has it's reasons. Whether those are to be shared or not will be something life'll tell me once this is all over.

  12. A possibility would be a "Respected Reputation Givers"-team, that's not necessarily Staff but is known to possess a proper sense of justice and the ability to evaluate proper quality, as well as the responsibility to not abuse the power granted to them. Then again, that'd be a whole lot of work for a simple feature, and most, if not all, the qualities such a group should have should be present within Staff anyway. So basically, seems like a whole lot of effort and complications for a rather small addition.
  13. I have but one question to ask you: Have you ever seen Andrew, Obama, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and an ice-cream vendor in the same room together?
  14. BIONICLE. Is. Not. Just. A. Toy. It's like saying you are just a person. i know it's not just a toy that's why i called it a 'toy franchise' It was a toy. It was an experience. It was adventure, fantastical real-life roleplays with a figure in your hand, creativity, taking every aspect of the human up to a whole new level; it was simple, sound and mind-bogglingly complex; it was joy, good times and oh also did I mention at conventions sometimes people give you free food? The best thing is you're also describing Barbie dolls Coming soon: Barbonicle 2016.

  17. Just shoot me a PM, would be nice for the BioArchives. Luckily both of those things are a whole lot easier when using Linux, provided you know the right set of arguments for certain commands.

    My dear computer

Is it weird that I regularly spend my free time designing cyborgs with a symbiotic relationship with plants? I mean, technology can take care of a lot of humanity's biological weaknesses, and plants can provide us with oxygen in exchange for carbondioxide, so we're essentially exchanging waste products, and they can also produce energy from sunlight through photosynthesis, so that would be a really nice benefit to have as well.

  22. On the BionicleStory.com index.html file, I think you should change the image sources to your local server instead of calling them from cache.lego.com. Otherwise the backup is more or less pointless once LEGO takes it off cache. Yeah, my script converted most URLs, but some are indeed still pointing towards LEGO's cache, because it skipped the JavaScript. Needless to say it's on the To-Do list, but the No. 1 priority was getting this thing out as soon as possible. Luckily the files themselves are already located on my own server, it's just that the pages aren't pointing to them yet.
  23. So, after adding hooks to and changing the extension of roughly 600 files, I can announce that the backup of BionicleStory.com is now live! You can access it over here, of just go to bio.takutanuva.com in case you want to refresh the unfinished global directory, from which you'll be able to navigate shortly after I've finished editing the main Bionicle site. Sooooooooooooon
  24. Currently waiting for the DNS to propagate and the host to enable mod_expires, while I'm applying the previously mentioned changed to the files. BionicleStory.com will be the first to be uploaded, as it's the least work to do - not a massive amount of translations, nor a header that needs to be removed on every single place, which both have to be done with Bionicle.com
  25. Okay, currently I've backup up all the Podcasts, essentially finishing the complete backup of BionicleStory.com The bots are still running on the main site itself, though that shouldn't take all that long anymore. Since it's nearly 1 AM, it's about time I drop unconscious on this incredibly soft surface which conveniently happens to be my bed. So yeah, except everything to be uploaded sometime tomorrow. Well, technically today, but still, tomorrow.
