  1. "Deceit and self-interest will never be virtues the Matoran honour!" -Vakama, BIONICLE 2: Legends of Metru Nui
  2. Breez's helmet as Helryx's mask works nicely. Isn't Jerbraz meant to be invisible, though?
  3. I think the mask is a bit clunky, but it's nice to see a Tuyet MOC that's so vastly different from pretty much all others.
  4. These are my favourite parts too, though that head is notable too.
  5. So amazing! Hahli and Vakama are my favourites here, but you've done all the characters well (even Pewku's expression is brilliant!). Vakama's beard is just like the droopy thing on his mask. Looks great! I wonder what Makuta and the Toa would look like in your style.
  6. The pose is pretty much perfect, and I like the angle on the Legoland letters in the first image. Great job!
  7. Back when I was into Warhammer, I used to paint Kanohi with Citadel paints (the Games Workshop stuff) but it flaked off if it made the slightest contact with anything else, especially on masks that were '04 onwards. M'afraid I can't help other than to say don't try Citadel paints.
  8. Finally, a non-exclusive Green Lantern, plus Sinestro to boot! I've been hoping for a GL minifig since the line started in (was it 2011?), and he's all I need to complete my Justice League. That space Batman suit also looks cool, and makes me wonder whether this is the first of a wave of sets based on the upcoming video game. I hope so, as I really want New 52 outfits for the JL, plus a Cyborg minifigure would be awesomesauce, as would a Brainiac. I find it kind of annoying that LEGO only seem to produce Batman sets at the moment, while the Marvel line zips all over the place, but hopefully this set is the herald of change. The cover of the game shows the planet Zamaron in the background (the home of the Star Sapphire corps) so is it too much to hope for a set of that? With a Brainiac ship and a JL member, possibly New 52 Superman?
  9. I replayed it last week on BioMediaProject, and had a sudden paralysing nostalgia flashback. Did anyone ever play the Mahri games? Because I just remembered that I used the music in a school media project about surface cleaner four or so years ago...anyway, back on-topic, it'd be great if there were lots of little maze/shooter games like those, in a series: one for each Toa. Though I preferred a lot of the other games, the idea that there were six separate ones where you commanded a different Toa through a different task was engaging to say the least.
  10. I'd rather they were brushed under the rug. For the serials that started after BIONICLE ended...well, I didn't feel like they added anything to the overall story, and it got too dark to really care. None of the characters had any humour (except Vezonpool, who got kinda' annoying after a while) or optimism left. Also, what would they have been building to? We'd just had the big climax - better to leave it there, in my opinion.
  11. My understanding was that Greg felt it was illogical for a species incapable of procreation. He has a good point. But by the same token, free-will and emotions (with the possible exception of fear) do not really make sense for nano-technology, and yet they are obviously canon, explained as the result of an anomaly in the system of the Matoran Universe. It seems quite possible to me that what little romance we saw, childish as it was, could also have been a result of said anomaly. This... this is something I've wanted to bring up somewhere, but you did it pefectly for me It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me - if, because of the anomaly, Matoran have emotions and feelings, why is love not among them? Obviously there is no reproduction, and thus no attraction of such, but why does this rule out the emotion of love? I like to think that MU inhabitants are capable of love. Friendship is a kind of love anyway, so I don't see why romantic love is such a problem. A lot of people today engage in healthy, loving relationships but are celibates, so I guess it's not hard to believe that MU residents can value the same kind of love. Non-canonicity aside, I still ship Macku and Hewkii. This got weird very quickly. On-topic. I know it's never going to happen (or not likely to) but I would love to see Shadow Toa Ahkmou as a set, especially after reading Nova Orbis. Other characters who never got sets that I'd want would be Meldingverse Teridax, Helryx (even though her presence in the serials somewhat annoyed me), Tuyet, Turaga Lhikan (for the Noble Hau, preferably similar to how it is shown in LoMN), Artahka and Karzahni would make great Titan sets (and I'd love to see what their combo model could be), Varian (since we don't have any Toa of Psionics in set form, and a non-squishie Calix would be swell) and, above all, the Kestora. Why so much love for the Kestora? Think of the purple pieces! Thinking more realistically though, if a much simpler new wave of BIONICLE sets were to come out, the kind of sets I'd like to see would be a wave of six 'villagers'. In the far future, the Agori and Matoran might regard themselves as one people with little distinction between them, and I always loved being able to buy the smaller sets (the Bohrok Va were my favourites). I'd also quite like to see the Element Lords. They could easily be the new villains, and they were meant to be the 2010 villains anyway, and if you want to make things simple they require little introduction anyway.
  12. If a new comic were released, I'd want it to be as unpatronising as it was in the original saga. Sure, it got a bit Power Rangers at times, but I never minded because of how the story was handled overall. Also, I saw over on the LEGO Message Boards, in the Ask Greg forum, that he said something like "the MNOGs were entirely canon except for the romance elements". Why was the romance cut? I don't think it detracted from the story at all, so did LEGO just want to avoid opening up a potential can of worms? And Adventurer, your sig is marvellous.
  13. I discovered this on deviantart and, recognising it from seeing your sig around here, decided to take a look. I am totally hooked. I'm currently on Chapter 6, and this is seriously good stuff. It's a great story on its own, but it's enriched thousandfold by your art. This is a brilliant series. I can't wait to see where this goes!
  14. On the BZPower side, the transactions have to be confirmed by Dimensioneer. He'll get to it within a day or two. Thanks for clearing that up, Black Six!
  15. That's weird. I just bought a couple of tickets for the big raffle, and it looks from this thread like some people have also bought tickets, but it still says "Tickets sold: 0". Also, aside from an email from PayPal, the raffle hasn't given me any confirmation that I've participated, which is weird. The page doesn't say I've entered. Is this normal? I entered by PayPal, exactly has been described before, so don't worry about it. It works fine. That's an awesome prize, for both raffles (i'm a huge Mixels fan).
  16. The Makoki stone is a really great addition. I loved your Onua model, and this is just as fantastic! Can't wait for the next Toa Mata.
  17. I hope GameStop deliver, because there are no stores near me and I really want this fig. Has anyone else read that issue of JL where Circe turns Plastic Man into a pig, but he just stretches himself back to normal form?
  18. I did indeed, though I had to take a massive hiatus from that (which I ended up leaving) and BZP because of school and later college coming first. Now that both are well and truly over, I'm enjoying being able to spend my free time more...freely. That said, university starts at the end of September. That Vahi is a beaut, by the way. I wish I had a 3D printer now. Thinking about it, if Kickstarter becomes a viable option, you could have a limited quantity reward tier of [a lot of money] where the reward is the bundle and stuff from the others, but also a Vahi. You'd then need to make three or four new Vahis (obviously you'd never send out your own!) but it might work as a reward - a life-size, wearable Vahi. Also, silly silly silly question, but will this work on Mac? I'll have access to a PC anyway by January (I think) but for now, my household is entirely Mac-based. Another silly question that may have already been answered, but will you be updating the music? Sorry if I seem over-eager but this is an awesome project! Well XONAR seems on board with the whole Kickstarter thing, so I think we will definitely give it a shot! Thanks for all the info. I'll look over the page you sent and try to get in contact with your friend for some tips. Were you on the 3D team or the 2D team? I never did anything in the way of animation, but I was set to be a voice actor at the time. The Vahi was actually modeled by somebody you might know, 00dude00. Back before I got in contact with Vrahno for this project, I originally shot him an email asking if he'd like to join us, but I never heard back. Doing so likely would have driven up the cost however since he charged me for the Vahi. Vrahno surprisingly is doing this for free. I'll definitely at LEAST send him a copy of the bundle anyways when it's all done. We would LIKE to update the music. We've been in contact with Templar about a soundtrack release, (through them and BioMediaProject, likely not us. ) and possibly acquiring the original samples for this as well. While they are interested in the soundtrack, and were actually planning a release of their own this summer, last I heard they ran into a snag. Namely the fact that over time, many of the original files were lost, and there's no way to get them back other than reproducing them from scratch, hence our need for sound people if we wanted to update the audio. It's an unfortunate bump in the road, but certainly not one that will ruin the project. I was there during the 3D area, though I have not modelling or animation experience beyond a really basic understanding of Blender's interface. I was one of the co-directors, along with Lewa Krom, though I relegated myself to scriptwriting since schoolwork was a priority, and I didn't have time to run the project anymore.
  19. I think a Kickstarter would be worth a try. Financial backing like that could be a real asset. A reward tier at $30-40 (or however the predicted cost ends up being) could actually be the bundle itself, which might be a good incentive to get people to back you from the beginning. You could then put one a bit higher, at $50-60, which could be the bundle plus another [cool but relatively inexpensive thing]; that way, people are essentially buying the game [plus the thing] but pumping additional funds into the project. There's all the usual stuff like name in the credits, some sort of exclusive (and basic) download content. Maybe one reward tier could include the soundtrack which (if you're doing an updated soundtrack) you could also sell separately after the game's release to help pay for it? You could also think about reward tiers involving some kind of forum badge here or on SolisMagna, or something forum-based like that (not necessarily a badge, it just came to mind as I got one for the FXHome forums after pledging to the Kickstarter for a piece of VFX software). They also offered mouse pads, t-shirts and postcards, but those would probably end up being too much effort and expense when all you're trying to produce is a game! I don't know if this is any use, but it might be worth a read. I've never run a Kickstarter campaign myself, so this is all conjecture from ones that I have seen, and the one project I have backed, but I think if you know what you're doing it's actually quite straightforward. You might want to talk to someone who's run a successful campaign. An acquiantance of mine got full backing (and then some) for his brickfilm Melting Point, and you can talk to him from the links here. I hope all this helps! 20. The "egotistic shadow monster" didn't appear in '02, and in '03 Takanuva defeated him all by himself... He was the behind-the-scenes villain of '02, setting off the Bohrok before their time, but you're right about '03. Hmm... I have one for the whole saga (I think): 'Science fantasy parable advocating teamwork.'
  21. These are amazing! It's a shame that a lot of those bricks don't come in the colours you've used as I'd love to try to build those for real. May I use these .lxf files, particularly the Kini Nui? Apparently it's possible to translate .lxf files into something Blender can understand, so if I go ahead with a certain project I'm considering these would look great for wide shots or animated mattes.
  22. ...in a condescending and snooty tone. It's rude, my friend. Even on the internet, you should treat others with respect. I have no problem with people who disagree with me, and I enjoy a good debate. What I do have a problem with is thinking that they can be rude or feed a superiority complex when on the internet because you don't have to talk to others face-to-face. You can be rude to someone without addressing them personally, too. Kopekemaster's comment was condescending and suggesting that I was a fool for purposefully overlooking a piece of information, neither of which is true. The tone of the comment was rude. I'm done with this thread. You can reply to you heart's content, make as many pages as you like, but I'm not coming back to this thread.
  23. At what point has such a statement been made? Not wanting humans in Bionicle specifically doesn't mean disliking humans generally. And I think you should avoid claiming that other people have likely been bullied or are isolationists simply due to your own history (which, needless to say, only applies to you). I'm not putting my own history onto other people, but to say that bullying is uncommon is like saying nobody eats breakfast cereal. Doesn't quite add up. Why is everyone so snarky and condescending around here? I enjoy having a challenging discussion, but saying: Does this kind of thing strike no-one else as rude?
