  1. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Mirror was helping dig some wares out of the rubble when he noticed the Vortixx moving out. "Excuse me," he muttered to the other guards, and hurried to the guardhouse to watch the proceedings with the Vortixx. IC: Kaenis - New Atero Notice Board Kaenis took a quick look over her shoulder, then just as quickly hid her (twisted) face behind hunched shoulders and boxes. "Uh, yeah, um... I... just meant to make a quick stop." She chuckled softly at herself, and eased a couple bags from her tail into the Agori's waiting arms.
  2. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace As Mirror walked around the Marketplace helping where he could and the adrenaline faded, his own bumps and bruises began to make themselves known. But they felt like nothing compared to what these innocent people had suffered. He didn't mind helping move rubble or provide what care he could before the medics got around. Still, he did have another job to do, and he kept an eye out for when the medic finished with Jira and the Vortixx, preparing to help them get the victim to safety... and figure out what the Karz was going on. IC: Garuda - Tesara Fortunately the Sand Bat seemed to have been far enough away from the action to escape unscathed, save for some dust and maybe a few scratches from flying debris. Garuda hopped aboard and revved the engine before she quite knew where she was going. One thing was sure, she wasn't staying here. Just looking at the markets threatened to release the tears she had been trying to hold back. There was one place though that always made her happy, and perhaps there were some that needed her help there. She took off for the city outskirts, then plunged down the cliff face to the wastelands below. Frightened Zesk scrambled away at her approach, but slowly began to climb out of hiding as they recognized her craft and her scent. Garuda parked in an open space and hopped down, pulling off her gloves to walk toward them on all fours. She chittered a word of greeting, one that was only answered by wide, frightened eyes that seemed to mirror her own. IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Eoron emerged a few minutes later in the Hangar again. He spoke to the crew for a moment, telling them to prepare the Gavel for takeoff. IC: Kaenis - New Atero Notice Board Kaenis found her way to the board easily; whether it was the busy city or barren dunes, she had a knack for directions. What wasn't so easy was juggling the armloads and even tailloads of bags of food and other supplies. Perhaps this wasn't such a good idea after all. She tried to focus on what she came for, the notice board, but aside from the carefully ignored Tesara Market ad and the usual wanted posters and counsel notices, there wasn't much to catch her attention. She sighed and shuffled her bags one more time to get ready for the walk back to the Benevolence. OOC: Guess who's back Rakin and Viann
  3. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace “I will ensure it,” Mirror said to Jira as he stood to give the medic more space. It seemed his duty was not done. “Thank you,” he replied to a dark figure who he vaguely remembered being one of the combatants. Everything that just happened felt like a blur. “I will look into it,” he told the excitable Matoran who had been calling to him in battle. “I am glad you’re safe.” Only question left was... now what? All around him, other Guards were aiding where they could, but the scars of this day would linger for a long time to come. He wanted to know why this had happened, and under whose authority, but the people came first. He would be the helping hand offered to them that he was not given when he awoke in the rubble... IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Perhaps it was Destiny that he happened to be standing there at that time when a fast-moving shape raced in from the north, obviously not a trader returning from Tesara or fisher with their catch. No, there were few reasons to be returning from that direction except... Eoron turned from the window and ventured deeper into the ship with a new purpose.
  4. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace “At ease, Captain,” Mirror said gently. “They have been dealt with. Guards are currently helping the injured and assessing casualties. We’re... not sure what they were after.”
  5. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Nothing appeared out of the ordinary. Evidently he would need to get someone more skilled in forensics than he to search the wreckage. And then... "Captain!" Mirror rushed to the side of the two figures. He could tell at a glance that the Vortixx was alive by her steadily blinking heartlight, so he turned his attention to Jira and checked for a pulse. Alive. "We need a medic here! The Captain is down!" IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Eoron continued his march through the halls, seemingly searching for any egregious break in construction code and offering nods to passing crew members. He eventually found himself at a window looking more or less north, the gushing Chasm to one side and the sickening sea of Aqua Magna on the other. The rise and fall of airships below might have been peaceful for someone else, but he was focused somewhere far in the distance.
  6. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Mirror backpedaled to the side to avoid the falling machine, giving Akkitu a hesitant nod once he was clear. That blow would have killed any normal being, Mirror realized with a sickening feeling, but then this wasn't a normal being. He gave it a little kick to be sure, but there was a greater question in his mind now that the danger was behind them. He looked up to the main target of their assault, and slowly walked toward whatever structure had drawn their violence. IC: Garuda - Tesara Marketplace The explosions and clash of metal seemed to have quieted, and Garuda carefully crept outward, sniffing around a little. Once she felt confident enough, she scampered up to check on her Skyfighter. IC: Kaenis - Trading Sector (New Atero) It was a day Kaenis had been dreading for a long time. Resupply day. As much as she would love to stay out in the Barrens, guiding vessels and investigating whatever strange things she happened to find, eventually she had to come back to civilization to purchase food and equipment. She had heard from some airship crews that Tesara was having a huge market day and that everyone was invited... all the better time to avoid the crowds with the few vendors left in New Atero. Less people staring at her like the freak she was. As the last of her widgets fell into an outstretched Agori hand, Kaenis muttered a quiet "Thanks," and started heading back to the Parking District to stow it away... but then, it would be a shame to miss out on the local chatter while she was here. She changed her course for the New Atero Notice Board. OOC: Kaenis open to interaction (headed your way Bacchus and Vrokdann)
  7. About time I submitted this gal. Maybe she can help a little... Name: Kaenis Species: Amphibax’s Species, Hordika Gender: Female Powers: Agility in land and water, amphibious. Her mutation has given her a back-mounted Rhotuka spinner with the power of Tracing. This Rhotuka hones in on a person or object in Kaenis’ mind and moves toward it rapidly, leaving a slight trail until it collides with something, releasing a brilliant flash of light that also serves to disorient her target. Gear: A set of throwing knives, as well as a long machete. Personal Aircraft: Benevolence Allegiance/Role: Wandering explorer Appearance: Despite her mutation, Kaenis has changed very little from her lithe, lanky body with its shield-like reptilian face. She’s become more hunched and her finned tail lined with sharp barbs. Her legs are long, digitigrade, and powerful in their movements. Thorny, silver armor covers her scaled, orange skin. Personality: Kaenis is enthusiastic and curious, yet mild-mannered. She’s very open, even to the strange new beings of Bara Magna. However, the Hordika’s feral rage can swell up at the slightest provocation, despite her efforts to keep it down. She hates that side of her, and fears for the day it might take over completely, but until then, she does her best to help those in need while searching out the wonders of this new world. Bio: Kaenis’ small, paradisiacal island was never big enough to hold her boundless curiosity. She escaped the first chance she got, and wandered the Southern Isles ever since, becoming something of a guide for wandering vessels. When at last, the metal walls of the GSR that had confined her for so long fell away, Kaenis couldn’t wait to explore the new world. Yet Spherus Magna was fraught with danger, both new and old, and in searching out the decaying monoliths of Bota Magna, she was ambushed, caught, and mutated by Visorak. Now, she tries to continue her service while holding the Hordika at bay. Personal Aircraft: Name: Benevolence Model: Rockoh Weaponry: A single Force Blaster mounted in the front, as well as a Rhotuka tucked away in a side panel that channels the power of the user, giving it the same power of Tracing while Kaenis pilots it. Customization: The bottom of the Benevolence is equipped with pontoons for water landings, and the sides feature deployable wings to extend its gliding time (slightly) when extended. Appearance: Kaenis’ craft is small, as far as Rockoh go, as she doesn’t weigh much anyway. It's painted in the usual dark green, though the paint is scuffed and scratched from her adventures and she has better things to do than care for it.
  8. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Realizing his mistake, Mirror reeled around to find... the machine ignoring him, continuing on its course. Strange. But he wasn't about to let it go back to launching rockets. Mirror charged back into the fray and readied his Shard Lance to pierce through the machine's neck.
  9. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace "Oh no." Mirror quickly shifted back, forgetting about the sword to release a pulse of magnetism to blow the rocket off course. But before it could go careening off into another stall, he turned and snatched it with magnetism again, angling it to launch harmlessly into the sky. But in his panic to deal with the rocket, he left himself open if the machine decided to close the distance.
  10. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace "I said stay back!" he shouted to the three Matoran again. Mirror took a few steps back, activating the magnets in his hand to repel the machine's sword away from him and the others. "Thank you for your help, but this is for the Tesara Guard to handle! Stay back!"
  11. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Despite the several blows aimed at the terrorist, it still managed to easily parry his strike, and during which Mirror caught a glimpse of a red mechanical face beneath the hood. He was shocked of course, but he shelved his questions for after the fight. Now, he needs to focus on staying alive. "Stay back!" he called to the unfamiliar Matoran, seemingly unnecessarily as one was already backing off... only to make a blind charge toward his foe. Grumbling to himself, he tried to make the most of it and keep the robot's attention with another stronger slash right back at the parrying sword.
  12. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace Still gunfire echoed around him through the ringing of his ears. So much for respect of the law. At least he had the attention of one of the attackers, and Mirror wasn't about to let them go back to launching rockets into the civilians. He continued running towards them, bracing himself to get caught in the crossfire. Broadsword, he noted, and his grip unconsciously moved along his Shard Lance to mimic his opponent's before slashing at the terrorist, more a test of their defenses than a full-powered strike. IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Taking that as an, "at ease," Eoron lowered his hand and moved toward the elevator to continue his survey of the ship.
  13. IC: Mirror - Tesara Marketplace As Mirror arrived near the epicenter of the chaos, he took in the scene in shock. Civilians trapped and wounded, open gunfire in the stalls, and the mysterious attackers were continuing their rocket barrage. Should he focus on the attackers, or the civilians? The decision paralyzed him for a few seconds. Then he drew his Lance and started running in, calling, "Ceas..." Another round of explosions shook the marketplace, with Mirror being blown backward and shattering a stall. He barely caught a glimpse of a Jetrax wheeling away through the smoke, evidently hostile air support. Groaning, he pushed himself up and picked up his Lance where it had fallen (oddly pausing to note the fresh scratch down the blade he'd have to buff out later), and limped forward with new determination. "Cease fire!" he called hoarsely, flashing his badge at the guards and civilians alike. "Cease fire!" All the while he was picking up speed, drawing closer to the two robed attackers. IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) "Yes, sir," he nodded, something like a smile adorning his mask in appreciation that he was recognized. He understood the difficulty of that. "Thank you, sir."
  14. IC: Garuda - Central Tesara Garuda scrambled back to the top of the board and looked around wide-eyed. Feral fight or flight burned in her veins, and ultimately she decided to flee, hopping down and scampering into the shadows of an alley. IC: Mirror - Southern Tesara Mirror's darkest fears were confirmed as the first explosion echoed over the city, followed by two more. Mirror ran back to the other guards in the south, pushing through the crowds all running the other way. "Clear the way please! Tesara guard coming through!" IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Grumbling to himself, Eoron continued into the airship, but stopped short once again to salute Coyle. "Commander. Good to see you here."
  15. IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) “Lieutenant Eoron to you,” he replied sharply. Then he froze as the announcement came through, and looked down to Rakin. “You heard the orders. Get this place presentable! Starting by booting that Rahi off this ship!” He started marching on into the ship, only to pause to look at Viann. “And I will deal with you later.”
  16. IC: Garuda - Tesara Market Garuda wrapped her tail around the top of the board and hung beside Paju, pretending to consider the other fliers that she could hardly read even if they weren’t upside down. IC: Eoron - Indomitable (New Atero Skies) Soon after, an ivory Axalara eased into position beside the Helix, making a perfectly square landing look easy. The pilot stepping out showed the same easy discipline as he surveyed the hangar. His grim countenance made it clear he wasn’t impressed. Then Eoron’s eyes caught on something that twisted his frown into a snarl. “What is that Darter-bitten vermin doing on this ship?!” he shouted at Rakin.
  17. IC: Garuda - Tesara Market Garuda retreated a little, suddenly looking shy. "Tilly says I shouldn't tell my name to strangers."
  18. This one's for Onaku and Dane. Name: EoronSpecies: Tobduk’s SpeciesGender: MalePowers: Emotion absorption. Eoron is at his strongest when surrounded by those who respect his authority, a double-edged sword to be sure. Kanohi Felnas, Mask of Disruption. Any targeted being will suddenly find one of their abilities activated without control. Defaults to elemental powers, then other innate abilities, then Kanohi abilities. Cannot be used on weapons or vehicles. For example, can cause Skakdi to be buried in their element (if a second Skakdi or channeling weapon is nearby) or an Arthron-wearing Vortixx to be overwhelmed with sensory data. His favorite form of punishment.Gear: A claymore too large to be wielded by most other beings, but suits him well.Personal Aircraft: The GavelAllegiance/Role: New Atero LieutenantAppearance: Eoron is tall and broad, with dark metal armor over purple organics.Personality: A real stickler for the rules, as one might expect. One could say he craves order as much as he demands it for his own sake. Despite his displays though, any more into his personality is difficult to read.Bio: Eoron gained standing among his people’s higher-ups by refusing to let morals cloud his justice as according to the law. However, it was his own instincts that saved him when the Visorak were unleashed, and again during the fall of the MU, and yet again with the fall of Fe. New Atero soldiers found him in the rubble and he surrendered himself to them, hungry for another chance to prove himself. Now, two years down the road, he is moving up the ranks as a pillar of the law in an uncertain time. Aircraft:Name: The GavelModel: AxalaraWeaponry: Twin laser blasts fired from the prongs on the back. Able to easily slice through most armor, but can only fire for a second at a time. The bomb bay carries Energy Siphon Mines which can rapidly deprive a vehicle of power, though it can only be dropped straight down. Larger vehicles may overload the mines, causing them to explode with little damage.Customization: Armored doors have been added to the sides of the cockpit, better protecting Eoron in battle. The bottom is also fitted with a row of thrusters aiding in a faster takeoff.Appearance: The Gavel is fairly standard as Axalara go, painted in gleaming marble white.
  19. IC: Garuda - Tesara Market Square “Oh. I deliver packages, but it’s not all that dangerous. Unless someone gets mad that I knocked over their flowers or lost their hat!” she giggles.
  20. IC: Garuda - Tesara Market Square Garuda's four eyes bulged. "And people give you money for that?" IC: Mirror - Tesara South Mirror snapped a salute and turned on his heel, waiting for a few moments before letting the official facade fall away, and his shoulders slouched, his fingers clenched and unclenched on the Shard Lance anxiously. His eyes watched the sky, the faces around him, the distant gates...
  21. IC: Mirror - Tesara Mirror nodded. “My apologies, captain. I suppose... I’ll return to my watch.” IC: Garuda - Tesara Garuda leaned in, looking precariously close to tipping off the stand. “Skeeell-ed Pill-ut?”
  22. IC: Mirror - Tesara "With due respect captain, I'm not holding my breath." He paused to take a look behind him. "Tesara opens its doors to all kinds of people, and you can count on some of them being rotten." IC: Garuda - Tesara On her way back across the city, a certain Matoran with arms full of paper caught her attention. Garuda set the Sand Bat down haphazardly on a rooftop and scampered down across the stalls to perch atop the message board. "Whatcha got there?" she chirped, cocking her head at Paju.
  23. IC: Mirror - Tesara "Captain Jira." The voice addressing the Tesara Captain of the Guard was quiet yet strained. Even as he stood at attention behind his superior, Mirror couldn't meet her eyes, always watching the surroundings for danger. "The... uh... the southern guards are in position. Nothing to report... as of yet." IC: Garuda - Tesara Meanwhile, said southern guards were about to have their hands full with a certain Zesk. On this day of excitement and trading and visitors, Garuda could hardly be expected to stay in bed, and she was already zipping through the streets on her Sand Bat, rustling the stalls below in her low flight. There were parts to deliver, goods to exchange, last minute shipments to display, and Garuda was in the middle of it all trying to help and meet as many people as she could.
  24. Yay, Skyrise is back! Must... contain myself... to two profiles... Name: MirrorSpecies: Mimic’s SpeciesGender: MalePowers: Photographic Reflexes, allowing him to instantly and perfectly recreate any physical feat he observes. This only applies to movements, and cannot duplicate elemental, mental, or innate abilities, however he also has a set of implants that allow him to manipulate magnetic fields using his own physical energies. This allows him limited elemental mimicry with magnetic materials, as well as magnetic propulsion and repulsion.Gear: His Shard Lance, a polearm with a swordlike blade and a long hilt, capable of replicating a wide variety of attacks. Its blade has been polished to a mirror sheen, and Mirror is obsessive about keeping it this way.Personal Aircraft: RicochetAllegiance/Role: Tesaran GuardAppearance: As a member of Mimic's species, Mirror has a reptilian head is covered by a silver helm with a set of fangs in the front and ear-like protrusions in the back. He has a wide, armored chest and powerful, yet agile, limbs that are able to quickly adapt to many fighting styles. His primary colors are deep blue with black and silver armor covering it.Personality: Mirror’s mild manner and hints of anxiety do little to betray the skilled fighter he is. His photographic reflexes help him adopt fighting styles, even in the middle of a battle, perpetually growing his knowledge and skill. One would think all his time training would put him more at ease, but now he worries for the city he has protected all this time, seeing how easily a great power like Fe fell to wicked designs.Bio: Mirror woke up one day in a shattered village. Those of his friends that were still alive had long since left him for dead. But he didn't know for sure, because he couldn't remember anything. Not even his own name.He wandered the universe for years, searching for some way to reclaim the memories that had been taken from him, or the friends that had left him. Along his travels, he met one like him, a Dark Hunter named Mimic, who showed him how to unlock his photographic reflexes before running off to another mission. Left more confused than grateful, Mirror continued his own quest with a new name. And then, even the world he had come to know was lost, and he had to find his place in this new Spherus Magna, though with the help of the Tesaran Guard, he has been making great strides. Protecting the citizens has given him a new purpose and new friends that almost put his lonely and confused memories in the past. Aircraft: Name: RicochetModel: JetraxWeaponry: A Pulse Bolt Generator mounted under the body. Similar to those possessed by Garan, it fires a slow-moving but powerful energy shot that grows with distance. Coupled with twin Impact Crystal Launchers, he can easily detain or destroy any who threaten the peace.Customization: Mirror has fitted his craft with VTOL engines, mounted on a swivel to give the Ricochet the power of a Jetrax but with the maneuverability of a Gukko. It is capable of fantastic feats, many of which Mirror replicates from his quarry mid-chase.Appearance: The Ricochet is a long, sleek Jetrax with razor-sharp silver edges and dark blue paint. Name: GarudaSpecies: Bota Magna ZeskGender: FemalePowers: NoneGear: Garuda’s claws are formidable weapons in and of themselves, not to mention her stinger tail. She typically covers her foreclaws in thick gloves to protect those she is working with, gloves which are usually tucked into her belt when not in use.Personal Aircraft: The Sand BatAllegiance/Role: Tesara MessengerAppearance: Garuda is petite with baby-like proportions and dark skin. She has a few white tattoos around her shoulders and belly. She wears tan and lime clothing designed to be light for the heat of the desert. Her head is covered in the typical bestial helmet of her people with a pair of rings piercing what could be called its “ears.” Her claws and tail are made of a tough, dark brown carapace.Personality: Garuda is a young Zesk, as is easily seen. She’s relentlessly curious, perpetually energetic, and always in motion. Her upbringing in Bota Magna gives her an impressive speed, agility, and dexterity with all five of her limbs, even now that she’s been brought to the concrete jungle of Tesara. Though she loves to explore each and every mystery she comes across, the fate of her Bara Magna brethren is of particular interest to her. When not on duty, she’s often found in the outskirts of Tesara, communicating with them in their own language which she taught herself. They seem to have rubbed off on her a little too in certain animalistic mannerisms and a rare feral rage.Garuda has few friends (somehow she tends to rub most the wrong way), but she does have an inseparable bond with Matilda (or “Tilly”), who became like a sister to her in their shared quest for their parents. Garuda relentlessly aggravates Tilly, who in turn puts up with it, as sisters do. Bio: Garuda was born on Bota Magna only a few decades before the Reformation. She was a quick learner and quickly outpaced her parents, usually ending up in the tops of the trees of the nearby forest. Nothing was too insignificant for her curiosity. Then she came to this world, a world of sand and primal Zesk. As Bota Magna decayed around her, she migrated and found her place in Tesara (along with a fellow wanderer, Matilda), where she could study the Zesk in more detail and be surrounded by the most greenery on the planet. Even through all that has happened, she continues her research in childish naivety. Aircraft: Name: The Sand BatModel: SkyfighterWeaponry: NoneCustomization: The pilot seat is surrounded by a fan of wings and flaps that give it agility far surpassing a typical Skyfighter. Garuda likes to say it can turn on a widget and give you change. All the better for her low, high-speed flights through the streets of Tesara.Appearance: The Sand Bat is pretty standard as far as Skyfighters go, with a lime and silver paint job and a Sand Bat skull (fake) on the front. The bulging fuselage has ample room for all kinds of packages for delivery.
  25. IC: Fang - Village of Kaam Fang waited while Fletch patched up Shield, just close enough to react if Shield should say anything, but otherwise trying to stay aloof. IC: Tube - Gym Maze (Team 1/5) Despite their best efforts, Tube had spent much of the end of the fight on the ground, looking slightly confused at the twisted metal that marked where a chunk of their arm went. But as their Master came to their side, they gratefully accepted the help. "I am fine," they said certainly. IC: Garrotte - Gym Maze (Team 2) Garrotte winced as the force put more pressure on her wounds, and this time she struck out with her sword, trying to guess where her attacker's arm would be while he was otherwise distracted.
