  1. Armed with a sawed-off shotgun and a powerful sniper rifle, this intergalactic bounty hunter is prepared for any threat. https://imgur.com/a/WzvIj A MOC I've had since early 2010, finally looking like he belongs in 2018. I really doubled down on the sci-fi soldier influences for this new version, pulling from Samus, Doomguy, Master Chief, and the Titan Spectre armor from Destiny. Special thanks to L.A. Miranda, Constraction Deva, and Djokson for helping to bring this version to life. Their input and techniques went the longest way for this new version, and I couldn't be more grateful.
  2. Hi, guys! Since Bionicle G2 ended abruptly and rudely in 2016, there is no constraction replacement with an original story by Lego now (Not like how Hero Factory replaced Bionicle G1 in 2010). Let's talk about the history of constraction. The first constraction theme is Slizers/Throwbots in 1999-2000, and it has elements from a Lego theme called Technic. It was replaced by the second constraction theme called RoboRiders in 2000. This theme also ended in the same year. These dudes lasted shortly, and they barely have stories. RoboRiders is replaced by the very theme that we and love, Bionicle G1 in 2001-2010. This one is the most successful and famous of the constraction themes, and it has an epic story. The theme got a lot of media, including four direct-to-video movies, chapter books, comics, online serials, video games, and online games. There's also music videos promoting the theme's certain storylines. The building system in Bionicle changed over time to become better. Sadly, this theme ended in 2010 probably because Lego had money problems in 2010, and its story hasn't ended as it stopped in 2011. It then got replaced by Hero Factory in the same year. Like Bionicle, it has a story and is successful, but it is second most successful of the constraction theme and has the second best story in the constraction themes. The theme has a TV show with 22-minute episodes, online and app games, chapter books, and comics. It also introduced the Character and Creature Building System, or CCBS for short, in 2011. HF ended in 2014 probably because Bionicle came back as a reboot called G2 in 2015. HF had waning successfulness for some reason, anyway. Also like Bionicle G1, HF's story hasn't ended, sadly. As for Bionicle G2, it had online animated videos that tell the main story, chapter books, graphic novels, and a Netflix show with 4 22-minute episodes. Sadly, Bionicle got cancelled again abruptly and rudely in 2016 for some reason (I mean, we just got it back). Well, G2's successfulness was declining, anyway. it's like the Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014 all over again. The replacement for G2 never happened in 2017 or this year for some reason. Right now, there are Star Wars constraction still being made nowadays, even though there are a few sets each year. Of course, there are more Lego themes that are sort of like constraction, which are Galidor, Knights Kingdom, and Exo-Force, all in the 2000s. Lego Ben 10 was like that, too. When CCBS happened, many playset themes in the 2010s used it, and they are Super Heroes, Legends of Chima, and currently Star Wars. Ones before Star Wars lasted shortly. Plus, there are some other themes that are like constraction, but they are made of bricks, and these themes are Mixels in 2014-2016 and Nexo Knights' mech sets in 2017. To sum this up, I would say that constraction has been going on from 1999 to 2016 by original Lego themes (It's been like 17 years). It seems that constraction is failing this decade (might explain the Bionicle G1, G2, and Hero Factory's problems with waning successfulness.). Right now, people are interested in Ninjago (this decade's minifgure equivalent to Bionicle), Lego Super Heroes, Lego Movies, and Star Wars primarily. Boy, things aren't looking too good for constraction. The Lego constraction themes were keeping the category alive, but with no replacement, it's getting weaker. We don't even know when will the replacement come. Now, that's where we are going to talk about how would you like the replacement to be if it could happen. So, yeah, how would you guys like it to be? Well, for me, I have some ideas: 1. Something similar to Bionicle by using the building systems in 2001-2003 and 2006, and all figures should have bendable limbs. Don't make them look too weird or faulty designs on the joints (the Bionicle 2016 sets have this problem), and give the sets good color schemes. Also, their final designs shouldn't leave anything out (Bionicle's Caparar and Nuparu Mahri in 2007 have this problem by abandoning their weapons. You could look at Kongu Mahri because he never kept his main weapon, too.). Make all the sets equal in every way, like having all masks in many possibilities (Bionicle G2 and probably Hero Factory has this problem. Not every G2's Toa has a Skull foe to fight or mask to recover, specifically, for example.). 2. If either Bionicle G3, Hero Factory G2, or a completely new theme, it or they should have a good story, as good as Bionicle G1 or Ninjago, and if or they could use references about other original Lego constraction themes for fun. Or A theme that is a constraction equivalent to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where original Lego constraction themes, Bionicle, Hero Factory, Slizers/Throwbots, and RoboRiders, have a crossover by sharing the same universe and work together to fight evil Avengers-style. Either way, this theme should have humans and Planet Earth in there. If that crossover theme, it would be called "Lego Constraction Universe". Here are my ideas about that, too: - Phase 1: -- First year would be --- Winter - Bionicle - Toa Mata/Toa Masters as the main heroes who can keep their personalities and elemental powers from G1 (Lewa being a Toa of Air again). It's optional to have Pohatu having a Batman-like personality from G2 because I love it. Lol. The main villain would be any Bionicle villain, not a new one. At the end of that storyline, there would a foreshadowing thing that hints crossover. --- Summer - Hero Factory - The first six Heroes as the main characters and can keep their personalities from their G1, not like Invasion From Below (because they were just acting like Stormtroopers from Star Wars). Main villain would be Black Phantom. It would be cool if there are some Bionicle references and Easter Eggs in there, and would still do the same foreshadowing thing. -- Second Year: --- Winter - Slizers/Throwbots - Characters stay the same as their G1, but with an actual story and better character development. There would be references and Easter Eggs from the other themes. Again, foreshadowing thing happening. --- Summer - RoboRiders - Same as Slizers, but also with an identified villain. Again, there would be references and Easter Eggs from the other themes and the foreshadowing thing happening, but this thing hint an Avengers-equse crossover next year. -- Third Year. It would be like the Avengers movie in 2012, where the main heroes from the previous themes (at least Tahu from Bionicle, Preston Stormer from Hero Factory, good-hearted Slizer leader, and good-hearted RoboRider leader. They're all leaders.) working together and form a special team to stop Black Phantom from collecting magical cube-shaped objects, which the themes hinted in the past and found on the heroes' worlds and Planet Earth, to try to take over the whole universe. I picked Black Phantom to be the main villain because I would love to see him as a mix of Avengers' Loki and Steppenwolf from the Justice League movie in 2017 by wearing a horned helmet like those villains and being Hulk-from-Marvel-sized like Steppenwolf. BP would have new villains or minions (from other themes, and not completely new villains) to assist him. There would be six worlds that Black Phantom would travel to to search for the six cubes, one cube in each world, which are Spherus Magna and the Great Spirit Robot from Bionicle, Makuhero City from Hero Factory, the Slizers' world, the RoboRiders' world, and the Planet Earth. The cubes would either be either the Doom Box(es) from Hero Factory's first chapter book or not, and BP would use them for his evil plan to take over the universe. The heroes would have a boss to guide them, whether be a certain Turaga from Bionicle, Mr. Makuro from Hero Factory, or someone else. The heroes would have new looks, like the Toa being in their Toa Uniter forms. The Slizers and RoboRiders would also kind of act like Dinobots from Transformers to other heroes by being clumsily destructive. Lol. End of Phase 1 - Phase 2 -- Fourth year: Bionicle - The Toa Mata becoming Toa Nuva (but Tahu would stay that way in this story this time) and fight against a new villain. Heroes and villains from other themes would appear in there as cameos or with major appearances. This villain would smuggle and use technology from other themes and this one, too. Imagine the Piraka got some stuff from some Hero Factory villains, like Von Nebula or Black Phantom, for example? -- Fifth year: Hero Factory - The Heroes getting their 2.0 upgrade to fight against a new villain. Heroes and villains from other themes would appear in there as cameos with major appearances. This villains would smuggle and use technology from other themes and this one, too. Imagine Von Nebula's or Black Phantom's gangs of villains getting weapons from some Bionicle villains, like the Brotherhood of Makuta, and Vortixx's Xian weapons from Bionicle? Also, add New, Eco, and Rocka in there. -- Sixth year: Another crossover year - The team of heroes go fight against a villain, like Von Nebula, Makuta Teridax, or Velika from Bionicle. If Makuta Teridax, he would be like Ultron from Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2016 by infecting technology. Either of these bad guys would be this theme's equivalent to DC Comics' Darkseid and Marvel's Thanos by being one or two of the heroes' toughest and worst villains. The Toa would get Adaptive Armor from Bionicle, the Hero Factory Heroes would be in their Breakout looks, and the heroes would use each other's technologies to make themselves better in fighting than how they usually do. End of Phase 2 - Phase 3 -- Seventh year - Bionicle vs. Hero Factory - Someone evil made Toa and Hero Factory Heroes fight each other. It would be like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 (but much better) and Captain America: Civil War in 2016. Imagine Tahu, Toa of Fire, and Stormer, Hero who use ice, fight each other like this, for example? Stormer would be like Batman while Tahu would be like Superman. The Heroes would use equipment that use the Toa's weaknesses to beat them while the Toa Nuva use Adaptive Armor and their smarts to counter the Heroes' attacks, even if the Heroes' technology is more advanced than the Toa's. -- Eighth year - Slizers vs. RoboRiders - Someone evil made those heroes fight each other. Same hero-vs.-hero scenario, but with these guys, instead. -- Ninth (maybe final) year - After the heroes got over their wars with each other, they had to fight against their greatest villainous foe, who would be either Von Nebula, Makuta Teridax, Velika, or someone else completely new and responsible for the theme's events just to do his master plan, which is to collect 1-7 magical artifacts that could allow him to take over the universe. It would be like DC Comics superheroes fighting Darkseid and Marvel superheroes fighting against Thanos, even in Avengers: Infinity War coming this year. That would be a big final battle. End of Phase 3 Maybe end of the whole theme because Bionicle G1 lasted for nine years, so I thought it would be okay for Lego to end the theme after this time. I pick the idea of the crossover because Lego is not doing well with making new franchises for the constraction category now (Look at Hero Factory's Invasion From Below and Bionicle G2), so I thought reusing old stuff would make something new out of them. Plus, people wouldn't say silly stuff, like "Stormer is my favorite Bionicle", which is not true about Stormer (a friend of mine once said that. Lol.). I would say that a shared universe like this would be a huge improvement for the old themes and probably the constraction category as a whole. It's called a renaissance. 3. A TV show with 10-13 22-minute episodes per season. No Netflix, and the show would be on Cartoon Network or Disney XD, and the primary source of story that shows character development greatly and better than other media. Make all characters in their sets equal to each other in every way in all media (Bionicle G2 and Hero Factory have this problem. Kopaka never had his mask stolen, specifically, for example). Don't make stuff in the story look confusing, not even to the sets, and don't make too silly. Just have a good amount of comedy and a super-great and dominant amount of action. Also, no unresolved stuff, rude cancellations, or rushing before the theme ends. Plus, a theatrical movie(s), which could be either a Lego Movie with positive reviews this time (unlike The Lego Ninjago Movie, which sort of disappointingly got mixed reviews) or a live-action or 3-D animated movie with human and the Planet Earth, similar to Transformers, but with constraction characters and always positive reviews, like the Avengers. Also, constraction-based Lego TT Games video games with positive reviews (and make every boss-looking antagonists bosses with boss meters, and make the game be open-world, like the Lego City Undercover, the Lego DC Comics games, and the the Lego Marvel games). Online games would include something similar to Bionicle's Mata Nui Online Games and Voya Nui Online Game. The chapter books, comics, and online serials would just be side stories or re-tell the stories from the TV show or movie(s). Do not make sets for characters that aren't too important in the story (Bionicle G1's 2007, 2008, and 2009 characters, like Lesovikk and Mazeka, sort of have problems with that, for examples. However, they can be shown in cameos if they aren't too important). Again, the TV show's great way of telling stories must apply to all of the other media. For the animation or whatever look on the constraction characters, there would be a mix of certain animation styles. They would have realistic parts of their bodies, like the first three Bionicle direct-to-video movies, looking very accurate to the sets, like Bionicle: The Legend Reborn, Hero Factory TV show, and Bionicle: Journey to One, but to the sets' final designs specifically rather than the prototypes (B:TLR and HF have this problem). Make them look 3-D animated, like all four Bionicle direct-to-video movies and HF, rather than looking 2-D-3-D mixed (like Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Transformers: Robots in Disguise in 2015. B:tJtO has this problem.). No drawing-like 2-D animation as the main animation style (Bionicle G2's online animations in 2015 have this problem). Nothing in the media or sets go missing, so everything should be there. Give the constraction characters pupils. Think of this as a Transformers: Prime animation style. For actors in TV shows, I prefer famous ones from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, B:tLR, and/or HF TV show (Hero Factory's Invasion From Below episode and B:tJtO have actors that we don't know, and the Bionicle 2015 online animations only have one actor voicing everyone. Weird.). For actors in theatrical movies, use celebrities from the Lego Movies. 4. For the combiner models, give all sets a chance to be in a combiner in every way (Bionicle's Sidorak and Roodaka never combined, which is an example of a problem). All-members-in-a-group combiners should happen, like having all six Toa Mata combine into a Toa Nui, for example. Don't make combiners look too weird, and I would like them to be in the story somehow, like fusion of members of a team. 5. For terms of money, small sets should be $5-7, medium sets $10-12, and large sets at least $15-20 or more. Bionicle G2 has this money problem. Also, bring back the titan combiner sets (Bionicle G1's Takutanuva, Ultimate Dume, Voporak, and Vezon and Kardas are such sets). For the instruction manuals, make the pictures 3-D in at least the small and medium sets again, like Bionicle G1's early years. Also like those years, have manuals show instructions for the combiners again. It would be neat if the canisters are brought back. Don't make the small and medium sets too chunky by amounts of pieces (Bionicle G2 probably has this problem). So, yeah, that's all I can think of. This is an ideal thing for me, and I would like everything to be perfect. I know it's a lot of stuff that I said, but that would do. What about you guys' dream constraction themes, too?
  3. I'm new to the site, so I thought I'd post one of my newest MOCs. Also probably one of my best. This little beast was a nightmare to build, but the end results were so worth it. You can check out more photos in the Imgur album https://imgur.com/a/IPOnf
  4. Clad in a high-tech powersuit, this mysterious figure's action speak louder than his word. Rumor has it he was once the prince of a long-forgotten kingdom. The biggest inspiration for this MOC was Shooby4000's Warchief of Wintergarten (https://www.flickr.com/photos/46779949@N08/36619416270/in/photolist-Y7oqN5-XMW5E3-Y8SQ4Y-Y8SQ59-YbAutZ) I'm a big fan of his ability to mix simple techniques with bright colors (and the occasional third-party piece) to give his MOCs an abundance of personality. Go check him out if you haven't already. More photos of this MOC available here https://imgur.com/a/CeGrK
  5. So a while back I created/posted this older moc http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/23630-rockoh-glatorian-of-junk-collecting/?hl=rockoh. He was a Bionicle that took the colour and overall theme from the system theme Rock Raiders. I really liked him and thougt "I should do this but for my favorite space theme". Which led me to this guy. For those that don't know his colour scheme is that of the subtheme of space known as M-tron from 1990. More pictures can be found here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/125839668@N07/39824206425/in/dateposted-public/ Emtrone is of one six beings who are toa pretenders as a way to earn a living. Using a mask of fire and red armor Emtrone makes it appear he is a toa of fire. Also he has a minimal magnetic powers. (M-tron as a theme had magnets as the gimmick) Rockoh from before also later become part of this "team". Onvermel
  6. Here some images I took of the Rahkshi and Bohrok-Kal. I haven't posted much recently, so I felt compelled to do so now. I hope you enjoy. Rahkshi Vorahk in the outskirts of Onu-Wahi. Nuhvok-Kal patrolling Le-Wahi's Surface. Lehvak-Kal lying in wait, hidden amongst the thick undergrowth. Rahkshi Lerahk watching from high above. Nuhvok-Kal observing the area. Nuhvok-Kal trudging through the thick swamps of Le-Wahi. Lehvak-Kal tearing through the Fau Swamp.
  7. Hello there. So I've been making some Bionicle meme videos lately and I thought I'd share: That feeling when you will never enter another store that sells Bionicles™ (but there's hope) And a bonus: There are a lot more of these on my YouTube channel, however they are probably not appropriate for this forum lol Enjoy
  8. You can make the entire Toa Mata team in all black, save for Lewa's axe and Pohatu's feet. What's a good way to paint those in black? Spray paint?
  9. Hi, guys! I know that Bionicle had ended a year ago sadly, but let’s be happy about Bionicle for something else. You see, this year, 2018, is the 15th anniversary of Bionicle’s early 2003 storyline, which involved the Bohrok-Kal. I know that this year doesn't have anything Bionicle-related, but let’s celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 2003 storyline. That would enlighten you more. Let me tell you the early 2003 storyline: The storyline is about the Toa Nuva, who are Toa Mata enhanced by a magical substance called Energized Protodermis in the 2002 storyline (which involved the Bohrok), fighting against a new threat, which is a team of six mutated Bohrok called the Bohrok-Kal. The Bahrag, the Bohrok's queens who were imprisoned by the Toa Mata with a prison in the previous storyline, mutated these six Bohrok, each from one of the six types of Bohrok, to create their elite team who they tasked to free the queens. Each Bohrok-Kal have new elemental powers that replaced ones from their former selves, have silver secondary colors, and can talk. The Bohrok-Kal are: 1. Tahnok-Kal (mutated Tahnok that has electricity powers instead of fire, and it's red) 2. Gahlok-Kal (mutated Gahlok that has magnetic powers instead of water, and it's blue) 3. Levahk-Kal (mutated Levahk that has vacuum powers instead of acid, and it's green) 4. Kovahk-Kal (mutated Kovahk that has sonic powers instead of ice, and it's white) 5. Panrahk-Kal (mutated Panrahk that has plasma powers instead of stone, and it's brown) 6. Nuvohk-Kal (mutated Nuvohk that has gravity powers instead of earth, and it's black) Their Krana are also mutated into the Krana-Kal, which also have new powers that replaced ones from their original forms. The Bohrok-Kal go to get and steal six magical tablets called the Nuva Symbols, which contained the Toa Nuva's elemental powers and are placed on their Suva, to use them as keys to use another magical object called the Nuva Cube to free the queens from their prison. Along the way, the Bohrok attacked the Toa's people who got in their way. Once the Bohrok stole the Symbols, the Toa Nuva's elemental powers are gone, as their masks turned grey. The Toa Nuva, who decided to separate before this, got weakened by this, got defeated by the Bohrok-Kal in one fight, and have to work together to get their symbols back. When they found the Bohrok-Kal in the Bohrok Nest, where the Cube is, they were too late to stop the Bohrok from unleashing the queens, who would awaken the normal Bohrok, who would attack the Toa's people again. However, before the Bohrok-Kal were going to insert the Symbols into the Cube, which could free the queens, Tahu uses a powerful new Kanohi mask called the Kanohi Vahi, aka the Mask of Time, which is given by Turaga Vakama, to stop them, allowing the Toa to go get their Symbols back, but the Krana-Kal turned silver as they protected the Bohrok-Kal from the Toa. The Toa did a trick that made the Bohrok-Kal stronger, and this made the Bohrok prefer their newly enhanced power over freeing the queens, but the Toa overloaded the Bohrok's powers so much that the powers have defeated them. The Toa got their powers back. The day is saved. Later on, there are some extra things before the Mask of Light events (late 2003). First, the Turaga had their Matoran rebuilt themselves to have stronger forms, and the Matoran changed their names a little. Second, the Toa have to find a new set of Kanohi Masks called the Kanohi Nuva, which are the same as the ones they got during their transformation from the Energized Protodermis. The Kanohi Nuva are enhanced versions of regular Kanohi. Each of the Toa has to find its own five Kanohi Nuva, which also have the same color as it is. That was done, as the Toa placed their new masks into their Suva. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories of the storyline and/or what do you like about it? Let me say my answer. I think it's alright. The sets, which are only six, one for each Bohrok-Kal, are okay. I mean, they're cool, like the Bohrok, as I like the head-hitting (like a chicken), the Krana-Kal launching, and the transformation into a ball. I like their silver pieces, the prints on their heads, and new shields. It's interesting that they are like counterparts to the Toa Nuva by color as much as the Bohrok are to the Toa Mata. The Bohrok-Kal are mostly re-colored versions of the Bohrok. There is that pack with the Kanohi Nuva and Krana-Kal. It's neat to collect more of these masks, like the ones in 2001 and 2002. Plus, the Mask of Time came as a set piece. It's hard that you had to get it through a promotional thing, but it's neat. The same would go to the silver Krana-Kal. Next, the combo models. Well, the models, which are the Bohrok-Kal Kaita, which are the one with the Kovahk-Kal, Gahlok-Kal, and Levahk-Kal and the one with the Tahnok-Kal, Panrahk-Kal, and Nuvohk-Kal, are alright. They look kind of weird, but cool. The first one looks like a Bohrok-Kal's head being smashed and the second one looks like a Tahnok-Kal having enlarged arms and legs while his body is unchanged. But, hey, they look cool, as I said. (Why not make look even like the, though) As for the story and media, well, the story is okay. It is told through three comic books, two chapter books, and three online animations called the Bohrok-Kal Online Animations (in a way). I like the part where Lewa fell off a tree, the little Rahi cows being magnetically stuck to Pohatu and his friends, Tahu's army of Tahnok being easily defeated by Nuvohl-Kal when it uses its gravity powers to send them to outer space (Lol. ), Tahu using the Mask of Time, and all six of the Bohrok-Kal being defeated by having their powers overloaded. Plus, it's neat to see the Mask, and this is where the Mask first appeared. The Bohrok-Kal are quite cool and smart. I like their new powers. Strangely, why not make them Nuva versions of the Bohrok, like the Toa Nuva (Like, you know, having enhanced versions of the normal Bohrok's powers)? It's because they look like Nuva versions of the Bohrok because of their silver color and shields. Their shields look more like they can use normal Bohrok's powers rather than the Bohrok-Kal's. Plus, why not make armies of each type of Bohrok-Kal, like the Bohrok (The Bohrok-Kal sound like new types of Bohrok because of their new powers)? It's interesting that the Bohrok-Kal and even their Krana-Kal can talk and have minds of their own. Plus, their Krana-Kal can turn silver and protect the Bohrok-Kal from harm, even if they are stopped in time magically. The Toa Nuva are cool characters, and I like that they used their strategy to defeat the Bohrok-Kal by overloading their powers. However, I am disappointed that the Toa have to rely on the Symbols to keep their enhanced elemental powers. Why not just keep the powers in the Toa's bodies, like their normal selves? You know, it's quite interesting that the Bohrok-Kal's powers have been used to give the Makuta species and new types of Toa the same powers later on. So, guys, what are you fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what’s your favorite Bohrok-Kal (set), favorite character(s) in the storyline, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, my favorite Bohrok-Kal sets are the Tahnok-Kal, Levahk-Kal, and Nuvohk-Kal. My favorite characters are Tahu, Lewa, Tahnok-Kal, Levahk-Kal, and Nuvohk-Kal. I really wish that the Nuva Symbols and the Nuva Cube would be set pieces, and Toa Kaita Akami Nuva (Tahu+Pohatu+Onua) and that Bohrok-Kal Katia with Tahnok-Kal, Panrahk-Kal, and Nuvohk-Kal had happened in the story, though. The things that remind me are: 1. Lanterns' Power Batteries from DC Comics in a way, as the Lanterns rely on those things to recharge their powers, otherwise they wouldn't have their powers unless they recharge them. 2. The Hard-Boiled Heavies from Sonic Mania in 2017. 3. The episode in a Marvel TV show called Ultimate Spider-Man while a superhero named Ben Reilly planned to let a villain named Kaine absorb empowering energy to defeat him. 4. The Skull Villains from Bionicle 2015-2016 - They drain the Toa Masters' elemental energy after stealing their masks.
  10. Recently, @Vahkiti on Twitter posted the 3d models for Bionicle: Legend of Mata Nui. I decided to take the liberty to convert those to .stl files and post them on Thingiverse for ya. I uploaded all six toa (4 without masks), all the in game kanohi, the Toa Kaita, The Chronicler, tohunga without mask, all the ingame rahi, and the elemental bosses in the game (which are... very interesting looking). Additionally, I did the same for the Bionicle: The Game models and a life size fan Bionicle mask/armor cosplay by PunkDrunk-182. I'm particularly excited about the Rahi's because there's a number that I've never heard of and some unnamed rahi. You can see the models here: https://www.thingiverse.com/Clyce/designs I recommend adding custom supports and 10-20% infill. Let me know if you have any problems printing any of them. I've printed Gali and tahu this far without problems. Enjoy'!
  11. So back at the start of the Bionicle reboot I purchased a Gali Master of Water (70786-1), I put the set together and for the most part I've just left it on the shelf and haven't really messed with it because I find the new sets floppy and not particularly fun to mess with. However, recently I got back into building mocs after losing pretty much all of my sets several years ago so I decided to pull it off the shelf and mess around a bit, only to discover that some pieces had become very lose. In particular several of the axle connectors (32039) and one of the translucent, short hero factor arms (90612) had cracked in such a way that they no longer produce enough friction to be useful just from sitting still on a shelf in the configuration the instructions specified. Do I just have a bad copy of the Gali set or is this a common issue? If it is a common issue it it just common to Gali or is it common to a lot of the reboot line's sets? I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this, I am new to the site (literally made an account so I could ask this question).
  12. Hello! I realize I don't post much on this site anymore, I've been busy with college and such, but I've been poking around every once in a while to check in. So it's 2018 everyone! 12 years ago, Bionicle released the Inika sets and they were marketed with the help of popular music in the form of "Move Along" by The All-American Rejects. Looking past gen 1 or gen 2 or whatever gen, if you were releasing a Bionicle wave in 2018 and you were in charge of the marketing for it, would you use a modern artist to help promote the sets? Would you hire a composer to just make some original background music for the commercials? What style/direction would you take the music for said marketing wave? And while we're at it, would you try to capture the atmosphere of the storyline in the song or just try to get something catchy to your target audience to push sales? There are no right or wrong answers. I'm asking to a) just get some good ole' discussion going and b) I'm studying business at my university (and I'm a musician) and using music for marketing interests me quite a bit.
  13. K'thae's people live even deeper than the lowest reaches of the Pit, in an undersea world where the crushing pressure can only be survived by beings adapted to the environment. Creatures living down there are either very hardy, or huge in size, to compensate for the pressure, and almost all are blind - K'thae included. Nonetheless, he posesses ocular organs and eye-slits in his mask, which combined with a similar societal structure, indicate that he and his kin are somewhat related to Matoran and Toa. There's just one problem - K'thae is the last surviving Toa-analog of his people, leaving him alone to defend his smaller and weaker kin. As the life of his people is constant struggle against the local wildlife, he has become very good at his job out of necessity, however the ever growing danger has forced K'thae to consider a plan that in the past would have been unthinkable - migrating closer to the surface. --- Photographing this figure without a proper transparent stand was a right nightmare, hence some pictures featuring my hand. 14. So i've been making Metru Nui in minecraft. It's not much so far, messing with designs and stuff for the chutes and whatnot in another world and messing with the biomes more than anything, but it's there. The main trouble i'm having right now is the size. See that grid it's on? Each of those is a 2048x2048 meter map. The entirety of the place is 28 of those. It's huge. I'm a bit in over my head. If anybody wants to help work on it, I would appreciate it because on friendly estimation it would take 12 years for me, using my free time, to complete this. Update 9/28/2022: My place burned and i'm only now getting back to it. Restarting from scratch. ugh. Should I do it full scale or height scale? Update 2/19/2023: Got a second person to help with working on it and input. Biome coordinated and terrain coordinated the different metru. Took alot of trial and error to get the height to width rations done, but it looks so much nicer than other attempts.
  15. Kokono (Bionicle, Friend's OC) by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr This is Kokono, an OC Av-Matoran of my friend GunmetalGold. Today's her birthday so I decided to make one of her character in my LDD style.
  16. I've been wondering if bionicle is returning in 2020 and what do you all think a continuation of g2 or a g3 would be like? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay46-CffM-8
  17. Hi, guys! You guys into dream-casting celebrities (meaning you wishing that a celebrity could play a certain character for your enjoyment)? Well, this topic would make you happy. I know that some Bionicle characters are played by TV show voice actors in their direct-to-video movies and The Journey to One show from Netflix, but we will be talking about having Bionicle characters being played by famous celebrity movie actors. These actors include ones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and The Lego Movie Cinematic Universe. Ninjago's TV show has TV actors, but the new Lego movie, coming this September, will have different actors, who are, of course, famous celebrity movie actors. So, what famous celebrity movie actor would you like to play what character (could be your favorite character)? For me, I have a bunch of ideas, but I put some asterisks point out my favorite characters. 1. Tahu* - Richard Armitage or Hugh Jackman 2. Gali - Scarlett Johansson or Evangeline Lillie 3. So, what famous movie celebrity actor would you like to play your favorite Bionicle character(s) (or more)?
  18. Hello all! Long-time lurker, finally I have decided to try and hunt some of the earlier sets that I had when I was younger. If you have any extra sets that you are looking to get rid of, please let me know! I might be interested in them I'm mainly looking for any sets starting from Piraka all the way to Phantoka. If you have any up for grabs let me know!
  19. Toa Bomonga Hagah (Bionicle) by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr This version of Toa Bomonga is inspired by Demitsorou's depiction of him. I actually participated in forming this design by brainstorming the ideas for his chestguard (a Piraka foot piece 53568), Mask shape (Hau), shoulderguards (53543), hip plating (is not depicted in the MOC, Toa Metru hip armor, 47299) and a spearhead (Lerahk's tool 44818).
  20. Beating my own lay attempts years ago, someone figured out a way to extract all the musical fragments from BIONICLE: The Game and sewing them together to bring the most complete, well-composed and high-quality OST of the game available online: or DOWNLOAD! The score includes fragments that have never been used in the actual game for one reason or another, like amazing passage for Ta-Koro and entire battle theme for Ga-Koro. Credit goes out to Hexadecimal Mantis for extracting the music and That1Cactus for editing. Insane job, you guys. I'll go ahead and also share the original Onua Nuva and Tahu Nuva tracks Bob & Barn were kind enough to share with me some years ago that I never got around to uploading—and while I'm at it, here's the entire thing I personally managed to put together: DOWNLOAD! (23/32 edited tracks + 2 original tracks by Bob & Barn) Enjoy the best score ever composed for BIONICLE!
  21. Hey everyone! I've never visited the forums before, nor touched Bionicles in many many years. I started collecting religiously at around 4 or 5 years old, built every set I could get my hands on, read the comics and chapter books, watched the movies, etc. I was the hardcore fan that I assume you all still are! Anyway, I am now 19 and moving out, and have rediscovered all of my sets. As for pieces, they are all stored in one large tub (estimated 70 sets of varying sizes.) I have many of the boxes that weren't cardboard, and also many of the instructions. While I cannot guarantee every single piece being in the bin (as I purchased some sets from thrift stores and yard sales that already had pieces missing) I can personally say that they were well taken care of and 95% of the pieces are in there. I am looking to get a VERY general appraisal/ballpark as to what my collection might be worth if I were to put it up on Craigslist! Here is a list of the sets/items I have. 23. We're on the tail end of what should have been the third year of Bionicle G2, and there's a high chance that the theme is gone for good. My personal hopes to the contrary notwithstanding, that is what the biggest likelihood is. I'm not here to debate whether it will ever return, or if it even should, but rather to look back and ask what it meant to my fellow BZPowerians. Not just G1 or G2, but Bionicle as a whole. Was it just a cool looking toyline for you, or more? Did you collect the figures without much care for the story? Was it the other way around, with the world and lore gripping you without feeling a need to own the sets? Do you have some kind of emotional connection to it or was it just a cool hobby that you don't particularly mind having passed? Did you collect the sets for their own sake, or was it to get parts for MOCs? For me, I feel I got more attached to Bionicle than I maybe should have, but there's a reason for that - it was one of the very few positive aspects of a tough and dark childhood. It helped me cope during the hard times, and I've grown a great deal of appreciation for both the sets and the storyline. I replay MNOG once every year, almost always listen to the soundtrack of the films or games when writing, frequently build MOCs and try to engage with what remains of the community as an effort to contribute to keeping it alive. When Bionicle got cancelled (both times) I added my voice to the crowd saying that the fans can and should keep it alive, and BZP is the epitome of that. I've been lurking since ~2004, so this site has become entwined with my perception of Bionicle as a whole. Making a product line which ultimately serves as a source of income for a corporation part of your identity is silly and childish, but as a child Bionicle made such an impression on me that it still lingers. I still read the books, am fascinated by the unique world and setting of it. The various characters, the deep lore and intriguing locations always fascinated me. I still strive to complete my collection of sets, and am quite close, but as the years go by achieving that goal becomes harder and harder. Whenever I engage with Bionicle in any way (MOCing, playing one of the game, watching the films, etc) I always eventually reach a point where I just wish there was more to explore, and more coming. The anticipation of images for next year's sets, reading the comics and seeing as the story develops, speaking with other fans about set design or how we imagine upcoming sets will look like based on hints and leaks, discussing the way the story is progressing - I miss all that. G2 brought it back briefly, but was marred by so many fans disliking it, and it was taken away again far too soon. Right now the soundtrack of the films is running in another tab, and is likely influencing my starting of this thread, but I'm curious to know how big a thing Bionicle was in the lives of other fans, and what it means to them.
  24. Toa Thode (Bionicle, Friend's OC) by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr Thode is a Toa of Plasma and an OC of BobTheDoctor27, from CustomBionicle project. I was using the depiction of him from the comic Date Night drawn by BionicleChicken: https://bioniclechicken.tumblr.com/tagged/date-night Thode is a snarky merc and a gun for hire with attitude. Charming fellow. The postprocess is performed by Demi: https://demitsorou.artstation.com
