* Credit to josephkarins on Deviantart for the map of Mata Nui Hello BZPower people!!! I thought the best way to introduce myself and connect with the community here is to share some artwork I have made over the last couple of months. Just like many of you, Bionicle was one of those staples growing up that inspired me to be creative with my hands. This artwork is a fusion of those memories and my love for arttoys/urban art. I always liked the idea of variations off of one template so I've assembled the Toa Mata here in a similar style. Not too long ago I managed to reassmble my collection as kid after digging through old boxes and bins thorughout the house haha. Growing up I was fortunate enough to have all 6 members and I'm shocked that they survived all this time despite my destructive tendencies as a child. I came back to Bionicle in gapped phases but now I'm back in full force collecting more and more of something I enjoy. The hunt for that nostalgia is an amazing feeling, I'm excited to engage with everyone! * I'll be slowly updating this with new work!

Oh, yeah, I've been meaning to post this for a bit. It's... not anything super-spectacular - as much as I'd like to produce more Bionicle artwork, capturing their detailed mechanical appearances doesn't come easily to me nowadays - but, at the very least, an attempt was made to get back into the style. I ran with movie style because... well, I've always loved how those old movies looked, anyway. And it just feels more natural to me than set-based style. Also, considering I signed up to a movie-style animation project on here earlier in the year, I certainly need the practice! I actually drew this several months back; only, I procrastinated on doing the final shading until recently. Not altogether sure whether I'm happy with it or not; but I figured, why not share it here anyway? It's far from the worst work I've shown here xD Drawn with a wacom bamboo tablet in FireAlpaca; final shading added in Photoshop. Um... I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to drawing Bionicle characters. Constructive advice is welcome?

[original sketch] | [Lineart] Long time no see! Felt like drawing something BIONICLE-related again after what must have been... months? (even if you do count the odd sketchbook scribble). And who would make for a better motive than the one and only Roodaka? =D I actually went and grabbed the old set to reference (I mean obviously, I took some artistic liberties, as always), but tried to make the design my own. She didn't turn out quite as menacing as I had originally intended, but I am nonetheless happy with the outcome. It's a digital artwork because I liked the original sketch too much to ink it. Comments and criticism are most welcome and appreciated, as always! :]

Hi everyone! This is my first post in a very long time and my first topic in an even longer time. I’ve been getting back into BIONICLE in a big way lately and I’ve just re-read downfall, one of my favourite BIONICLE books. Inspired me to make this: This took me about an hour and a half in total, done on my iPad on a bus journey. What do you think? (Clean version without the text can be found here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/turagapohatunuva/topicimages/0ba5356b-94ba-4403-b8e4-35ba6e94fab5.jpeg)

I decided to paint up a piece related to A Rude Awakening Bota Magna. It is a Tūlūfan Shamen-Leader of the nation of Tūlūfū from times long past gazing into the eyes of the future (i.e the eyes of the viewer). Or that is atleast how I interpret it.

Hey there, and thanks for visiting my collection topic! I started a topic a while back about my cold casting efforts, and I really appreciate the feedback I've gotten. I haven't had much time lately to experiment because of school and work. However, the semester is almost over, so hopefully I'll be back at it again soon! In my small stints of free time, I've been working on a few other digital art projects, and I wanted to share some of them here, with all of you. My original topic (linked for reference) can be closed if anyone with the authority is reading this. I'm not planning to add anything more to it; that's what this topic is for. All project updates and new submissions will be added to this topic. The reason I re-created many of the designs below is because there are very few high resolution versions available on the Internet. It also gives me the flexibility to adjust the design if something about it bothers me. I like having a consistent collection of images to pull from when working on different projects. As such, I'm making all of these designs available to anyone who'd like to use them. I don't need credit, but I'd love to see what you create if you use any of them. I'm doing this as much for the fans of Bionicle as I am for myself. I'm working on several projects now, but if you have a suggestion about what I should do next, please share it! These designs are very simple, though most have taken many hours to create. The maps/silhouettes took massive amounts of time, as they were traced with a mouse. I'm not really proud of the amount of time I spent on them, but I'm really happy I took the time. Hopefully these can make others happy too. UPDATE: March 27, 2017 I've recently gotten back into my groove and experimented with a new mold for the Mata Nui totem. It's slightly larger than before, and it has a flat bottom, allowing it to sit upright without modifications. I've been able to produce pretty consistent casts, despite the mold being a single piece. Click the thumbnails below to see photos of each of the different casts. I invested in some brass powder to experiment with, and have since made my own compression chamber to eliminate bubbles. It's been a while since I posted last, but I've been making slow progress, and I'm excited to finally be sharing it! A quick side note: I'm almost finished with my Metru Nui island graphic, and will post it soon. It's taking a lot of motivation to get it done, but I'm determined to complete a lot of my on-going projects this year, and Metru Nui is among them. After that I plan to do Voya Nui, to complete the three "big islands." My goal is to eventually do every island in the MU, and I'm a bit excited about working on those lesser-known. As always, questions, comments, and criticisms are always welcome! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Resin Casts: First Mold: Second Mold: Third Mold: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vector Graphics: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Raster Graphics: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This topic will be edited periodically. Changes to links may cause temporary inaccessibility to some images. If you are having troubling clicking through to an image, please let me know! Thanks again for looking!

Time for more Bionicle fanart from me! If you don't like bad puns, look away now (Click the image to look at the full resolution image on Deviantart) Not much of a backstory to this one, one day I was looking at pictures of the Bionicle Protectors on a mobile device, then I had a bit of a lightbulb light up in my brain. What do you use to protect the screen of your phone? Screen Protectors of course! So I couldn't resist drawing Tahu with Ekimu inside a phone acting as a Screen Protector, hence this quick digital drawing (done in Photoshop Elements 10 like all of my digital paintings) came to fruition This is a quick sketch, so I didn't colour in the lines on this one (but I might, but it doesn't make a huge amount of difference really, it's more about concept than execution in this drawing) Maybe I should put speech bubbles in and make it a single pane comic Anyway, feel free to post a comment or upvote this, either here or on Deviantart.

Hey all Most of you probably know me as primarily a Constraction builder - but not many know that I also fancy myself as an artist. Though drawing has been a passion of mine for many years, I've never really been one to post my work online because I felt I wasn't very good at it. But a friend recently encouraged me to post some Bionicle related artwork here, so here we go: Firstly, my original G2 Bionicle character: Corphos (link goes to BZP topic about the MOC where I also give a little backstory, I suggest you give it a look if you haven't already seen it). As is customary with any of my MOC's that get popular, I draw it. I happened to do this one in a manga style, which is a style I'm still learning so please don't bash me too much And here's a drawing of something you're probably more familar with: Skull Spiders! I basically wanted to draw a Skull Spider like how you get them in sets, but also wanted to give it fur like a real tarantula might have as well as some non-canonical touches I wanted to add, like spines on the legs. Click the images to go to their respective Deviantart entries and see their full resolution (and why not give me a reason to post more of my art to DA while you're there if you like these ). I should add the backgrounds aren't created by me, they're just there to fill the space really. So yeah, bear in mind that I am in no way a talented artist (I mean, I dropped art in favour of the sciences in Year 9 )and have only been practicing art in Photoshop for a couple of months, so comments, constructive criticism and upvotes are appreciated

These are super quick, so, don't say i didn't warn you, they're sorta what i'd look for in Bionicle 2016 sets, and, idk, they'd look less same-y in set form, I'm just not very good at drawing at that detail level (they'd also use the Piston addon and the skull warrior addon in some places, but again, detail level is kept low here.) But yeah, it's late, i wanted to get these down before I fell asleep and forgot, and I am not very good at drawing at night, oops. I hope the concept is nice enough though. :u

On a whim I decided to draw Pohatu Master of Stone. I wasn't impressed by this set to begin with, but it's grown on me! Also I thought I'd slap the ol' 2001 colour scheme on him for comparison: Click both images for larger, higher quality versions!

This this took way too long to complete, glad it's finished, though. And yes, the text does say something. Drawn completely in photoshop. I've always loved the science fiction aspect that the later story of Bionicle took on, and with the up and coming generation, I suppose this could be thought as homage to the story we had before. (Clicky for the link, warning, file is over 9 mb in size.) And here's a version without the text. C&C appreciated.

<- (click for full size) Thought some of you might appreciate my posting this here. Galaxy Squad is one of my favourite Lego themes. I was in the mood to draw a 'realified' (IE not made of Lego) version of one of the sets. This was only intended to be a quick exercise to try out a couple things, but I had fun with it and ended up making it into a full piece with a background as well. I think I might 'realify' some more Lego sets in future.

For years now I've made unhappy noises about Kotu's wasted potential. She's a Rahi tamer with a Rau, just for starters; if she could use her mask's power, that would make her so much better. But then there's also the fact that she's said to have a quick wit and a talent for pranking, and wouldn't she just be so much fun as a Toa? And she's Macku's best friend, supposedly. Those two, together, being awesome... But mostly Kotu. Because Kotu is awesome and got so little screen time compared to how awesome she could be. So I decided to draw her as a Toa. Lookit! (It's a thumbnail.) I based her design on the Toa Nuva (specifically, as they're depicted in BIONICLE: The Game) for the same reason Takanuva looked like them when he transformed. I liked the torso from B:TG particularly. Also, masks are hard. Her poor, asymmetrical eye holes...

A long time ago in an RPG arc far away I drew Ferron, toa of iron. Now almost a year has past and Ferron's gone from toa to turaga in the BZPRPG. To commemorate Geardirector's fantastic job with this character I turned my artistic eye back on the forlorn forgemaster. As always, C&C is most certainly appreciated! (Click image for full resolution.) I think this was the first time I really buckled down and tried to get the lighting just right. I may throw in the forge itself as a background in the future, but I wanted to catch the light coming off the piece of metal Ferron is hammering as it glanced across his carapace.

Kiron is a toa of flame from the BZPRPG. He carries several bottles of juice flavored water and a scimitar. I promised to sketch this character a few months back for Norik and I was finally able to pull through today. Comments and Critique most welcome! (Click image for full resolution.)

Colx, Melna, and Helios are all BZPRPG characters created and played by Gyro Gearloose (Geardirector). These three gravity elementals form the Gravity Trio, a group of friends who live and laugh on the island of Mata-Nui. In honor of the awesome-sauce that Gears lavishes in his posts I wanted to draw the trio all together. At first I was going to draw them in a sweaty gym posing for the camera. Then I decided a summer beach party would be more fun. Why not make the beach party for three rough warriors turn into a sparring session in the sand? (Click image for full resolution.) My apologies for several things, especially the hands. However, I believe it's impossible to get better at drawing something without actually drawing it so... Hands are what they are until my skill has improved from drawing them hundreds of times. XD Comments and critique are always appreciated. I really do take into consideration everything you say. Ciao for now! ~Kughii

Rhea Heartsflame is a toa of plasma written by Shadowhawk in the BZPRPG. Also, this is my first fully digital illustration. C&C always appreciated! This took about 3 hours from start to finish. Also, keep checking on this topic for images featuring Rhea (such as decked out in her equipment, action shots and a certain "special surprise")! (Click image for larger resolution.)

An older sketch of mine that I finally got around to putting through Photoshop, overall pleased with how it came out. The character himself is even older, an Infected Toa known as Krell. Was really fun to play. Stinks he pretty much immediately died after getting out from Makuta's influence. Ah well. Link

So, it's been a while since I've posted anything new. ...by new I mean not an old piece I just now got around to coloring... Anyway, it's been even longer since I've posted any of my BZPRPG characters. And so, here's Embok. Mentally scared, stoic, dark, recently-turned-evil Toa of Plasma elementalist. This guy's had some things happen to him that, well... um yeah. He doesn't like angels, either. And he's mute. Because of an angel. [Large file size!] This was really only a quick ten-minute offhand sketch that I used to test out Photoshop CS6. C & C greatly appreciated.

And I'm back with another BZPRPG character. This time it's Kal Grochi (Otter)'s character Raxa; master assassin sharpshootin' Toa of Crystal. Being the awesome friend that I am, I sorta kinda managed to get this done slightly a bit late... sorta... Yeah. Well, I was busy removing the crystal shards from my back after he shot me. Anyway, this is actually an older sketch that I finally got around to coloring. As such, the style is a bit different from my more recent works, but I'm very pleased with how this came out. Like. I'm seriously loving my own art. Is that a bad thing? Anyway, clickable thumbnail... (Warning: over 9 mb file size) I seriously had fun drawing this, and I only dislike the shadow, which I couldn't quite get right. Comments and criticism greatly appreciated.

Well, it's been a while since I've posted any art on here, so it's (about time) I did. This is another BZPRPG character, Krayzikk's character... Krayzikk... Yeeeeeeeeeah. Just your friendly neighborhood Titan Toa. (Clickable link) Sketched in pencil, colored in photoshop. (No tablet, ) I'm really glad how this one came out, and overall, I'm quite pleased with the result. Unfortunately, I had to go back and re-do the shading, but no biggie. I tried to get a bit more artistic with this one, but that Kualsi was a... erhm... really hard to stylize. (krayzikkbro your description was one sentence long ;-; ) Comments and criticism welcome!

These three are rough concept sketches of the Phantoka Makuta done in Gimp. Click the thumbnails for the complete images. They took about 1, 2 and 2,5 hours to make, respectively.
