Bzprpg - Onu-Wahi

Recommended Posts

IC: (Mef) Onu-Wahi Mef walks along the stone streets of Onu-Wahi, a shocked look on his face. He had been away from civilization for so long that he hadn't seen so many common day Matoran and other beings all in one area. Now, this is the kind of life I'd like to live: a care free one where no one worries about what the Makuta is up to and doesn't really care about the recent events. Mef had gotten used to talking to himself inside his head. With only a Toa of Fire for a companion for years (who didn't say nearly two words a day) the Toa of Earth had started the weird habit. He hoped to change it once he found someone who actually cared about what he had to say. I really need to find information on the recent events. Hasn't a Matoran been killed or something? I've been gone too long... The Toa of Earth looks around before spotting Agni and another being. Maybe I can ask them. "Excuse me, would you mind answering a few of my questions? I'm afraid I've been gone for a while now." His voiced cracked on the first word from not talking out loud for quite some time, but he continued to talk in his normal, slightly deep pitched voice.

IC: IsiakIsiak and Shohu arrived in front of Taipu's house, attempting to peek a cursory glance through the windows, but were covered in shades."Here we are my friend, let us proceed."Isiak hobbled on his two weak legs and his staff to the door, and rapped the door several politely loud times."Hello? Is anyone home?"

IC:Agni stopped at the sound of somebody talking to them. The Toa of fire turned around to find a Toa of earth looking at them questioningly."Excuse me, would you mind answering a few of my questions? I'm afraid I've been gone for a while now.""That depends on your questions, but I will try." Agni replied. "So, what do you wish to know?"

IC: MefOh, good, the language hasn't changed since I was last with civillians."Just what has been going on in the last few days," started Mef. "I'm afraid I've been... away... for quite some time and I don't know if the local gossip is true or not."Maybe I can find someone who will hire my services. If this news of a "quest" is true maybe they can use some one of my caliber.

OOC: No apologies needed. I know how tough blackouts can be, particularly when winter is involved.IC: Lux'Le-Koro!' Lux blurted out, suddenly blushing afterwards, 'Sorry, I meant, maybe we should head to Le-Koro. After. Yeah. I'm gonna shut up now.'He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, trying to look up at the cavern roof.-Void

IC(Mirr, Lyrica): Mirr ran into a toa of Sonics. "Ahem. I was walking here." Lyrica looked down upon him. "Are you going to apologize, fool?"Mirr stumbled back. Her cold stare penetrated his very soul. "Erm..."*WHAM!*"OW! What was that for!?""Not apologizing fast enough." She recoiled her whip.OOC: Lyrica and Mirr open for interaction.

IC: MefThe Chronicles Company. That was a name that didn't ring a bell for Mef. He had been in isolation away from the world for so many years that he had never heard of the group of people. His mentor didn't mention The Chronicles Company at any time (not like he talked much any way)."No, I'm afraid I haven't," says Mef, matching Agni's tone of voice. "Should I have?"

IC:Zaveno led the way to the pub on the other side of the Koro. He got a table, paid for Solia's and Lux's drinks, then went to a back room along with a cloaked figure. When they came out, Zaveno had a look of determination on his face. "Once you've finished your drinks, we can go to Le-Koro" he said aloud.-:z:

OOC: There are plenty of people from Metru Nui on Mata Nui (... right?) that could have mentioned it, and didn't the Turaga tell their whole tale already? Jokar could have learned that way too.IC Jokar - Onu-Koro - Talking to Kirgon: Jokar whipped his sword out of its sheath (or took out whatever weapon he had at the time) and knocked Kirgon's disk launcher down out of the way of his face. "You couldn't ever beat me into the ground, you'd be swarmed to death by plants before you could even take a step towards me," he said, power obviously pouring from the Toa, and small plants began to grow near his feet, stretching out slowly, and growing in size.-Jokar

OOC: I think that no one is supposed to talk about anything before the island, but I'm not sure.IC: Kirgon"If that is how you want to do this, then you can call me Kirgon, the plant shredder."I grabbed a bladed disk from my pack, holding it in my free hand, ready to chop some plants to pieces.OOC: Feel free to just start laughing at him trying to be tough with lame puns, or something. IC (Solia, bar): "Once you've finished your drinks, we can go to Le-Koro" said Zaveno once he had returned. He looked utterly determined, and Solia was in the mood for some fresh air. Downing her drink, she leapt to her feet, grabbing her bag that had been slung over the back of the chair, "Let's get going then," she said cheerfully, "Le-Wahi won't enjoy itself."

IC Jokar - Onu-Koro - Talking to Kirgon: "'The plant shredder'? Lame. I'd call myself, Jokar, Father Nature," the Toa said, extending a vine from the ground to whip around in front of Kirgon.(lolwut)"You and your blatant hate for Toa confuses me. You should be grateful for any who put their lives on the line to save your own, and they certainly do risk their own safety. There are things in the Jungle and the wild that no Matoran could dream of defeating; not to put down the Onu-Koro guard, they do a wonderful job of protecting the village from evil," Jokar said, absorbing his tree-seat and the plants at his feet.-Jokar

IC: Kirgon"Yeah, sure. Toa protect villages. Wrong, the Matoran do that. Do you see any Toa on the Ta-Koro guard? No. It the Gukko force? Nope. The Ussalry? I don't think so."He pulled his bag of disks back up onto his back, locking the disk launcher onto the pack."You Toa do nothing but stand around and fake heroics."He started walking in the direction of the Le-Wahi tunnel. He had a treasure to find.

OOC: Taking up your offer of interaction Nitro.IC: [Arkrak]Due to the fact that he was rather lost, Arkrak decided to look around the area, hoping to find another being who could direct him to the exit or help relieve him of his boredom. As he looked around, he ended up seeing another Toa of Sonics and a being that looked like a matoran."Oh hi there," he said, walking over to them. "Do you guys know where the exit is?"

IC:Oh dear..., Agni thought. "Fresh off the boat, eh?" he said. "Well, there's no harm in not knowing. Most of what I can tell you revolves around Ta-Koro in the south, as I am a member of the guard. Walk with us for a bit and I will try to tell you what I can."As they walked, the Toa couldn't help but think that he had developed a habit of finding lone wanderers along the way. The thought tucked at the corner of his mouth and turned into a slight smile. They continued to walk and Agni told Mef about the recent events. He did so quickly and in a low tone, as to not attract additional unwanted listeners. He told the Toa of earth about the coming of the Mata and how they had fought the Rahi and forces of nature themselves to thwart the Makuta. He told of how a simple Ta-Matoran had just wanted to go on an adventure and suddenly found himself on a great quest. His tale focused mostly on the chroniclers company from there. Takua had met the other Matoran in their respective Koro and they had joined him while the Toa had been looking for the great masks. "In the end, they succeeded. We were hopeful. After all, at their full strength, how could the Mata fail?" Agni said. "The Chronicler and his company had gone to Kini Nui as well. And while the Toa journeyed into shadow, they held Makuta's Rahi at bay, outnumbered and as best as they could, until help arrived. I was among the Matoran from the guard. It was a long and intense fight, but we defeated the Rahi on that day. I don't know what happened next, but Takua was not among us when the battle was over. He was found later, by Vakama himself. He never told of what happened during that time. All we know is that the Mata never came back from the shadow. Takua was a rare sight after the battle at Kini-Nui...he mostly kept to himself, or his company. And one day, he disappeared completely. Nobody has seen him since."The Toa of fire sighed and looked around and over his shoulder. There were a few Matoran on the road, but they were minding their own business."Here is the interesting part though: The other members of the chroniclers company have made themselves rare too. Of course that does not go unnoticed, especially by the guard. I do not know why, but the company has suddenly become a topic of interest for many. People are asking questions. Strangers, too. And every day there seems to be more of them. Tall Vortixx, with weapons and tools the likes of which I have never seen before, and ruffians from some other distant place, some uglier then a Makuta-fish. Nobody seems to know what exactly it is that has many this curious, but rumor has it, the company knew many secrets. I do not doubt that, as they have been all over the island on their journey. But if they know anything that warrants this kind of attention...I don't know. I guess this is a much as can be said about the current state of things on Mata Nui..." Agni concluded his story. He looked at Mef and shrugged. The Toa of earth didn't speak for a few minutes, it was a lot to digest after all. So the Toa of fire walked silently between him and Valria. They would reach the tunnel to Po-Wahi soon.

IC: Isiak"We have no way of knowing if someone is inside right now. We can't just barge in also, I know my brother Whenua would not appreciate such a thing. We wait for a sign."With that, he grunted as he bent his thin arm behind his back, and Isiak pulled out his precious violin. He peered at its pale wood, its sleek form, the strings that were as tight as the day he fastened them. On occasion it became damaged, a scrape one day and a chip the next. In such occasions, he would tirelessly spend weeks repairing it to perfection. The violin was him, he was the instrument. The violin was also his past, all of his misgivings and failures and triumphs and aspirations, all were entwined into the wood. It pained him to remember that there was a time when he could hear none of the song. Yet when he could now, Isiak found that he could not hear his own song.Did I deserve that Toa stone? Surely someone else could have done a far better job of saving the innocent and exacting justice. Oh I did help when I could, but the fact that I lived long enough to be a Turaga hinders all of that. They say a Toa becomes a Turaga when his destiny is finished. And so I am dead weight in this world, without a song of my own. I should have died by their sides. I abandoned you all. I am sorry, Qathek. These thoughts, so familiar to him, struck a new line of inquiry in Isiak's thought. Lowering his violin, he faced Shohu, and asked,"My friend, I am curious. What circumstances were you made into a Toa?"

IC: (Mef) Now, I really have been gone too long.Mef didn't recall any battle at Kini-Nui. All of this was new to him and it sounded interesting. "So," Mef said at last, continuing to almost whisper. "These-these new arrivals to the island have all showed up since the chroniclers have gone into hiding? Sounds suspicious. I wonder why they're here..." Mef's voice started to trail off as he thought of what else could have brought the Skakdi and other aliens to the island. He couldn't think of any other reason as to why they had appeared. And, the most important question still remained. Who sent them?

OOC: Wow. Nice one.IC: Shohu stared. "I was...transformed. I once wanted adventures, and always dreamed of them thousands of years ago." He covered his face with his hand for a moment, then removed the hand. "Those days...so innocent...so ignorant. I had wanted to become a Toa for years. Eventually I was sent on a mission...leading a squad of Onu-Matoran. A mission to scout out the Kini-Nui. I led them in bravely...and all of them died. All but me. I survived because I fell down a passage...and slammed into a Toa stone. I was transformed and fought my way out...but after seeing what adventure had brought me, I decided a settled, strict life...no more eccentricities...no more pain. I stayed in Onu-Koro...in honor of those who died, and so that I would never forget them. I don't know what I was thinking when I went with you...but here I am. Maybe I can redeem myself...it's been said that all Toa are Toa for a reason."

OOC: Thank you.IC: IsiakBeat-five, one. One two-one.Isiak nodded solemnly. "You are still a Toa, and have much time to find what is there for you, what you shall do to protect and be just. I am finished."Beat-five, one. One two-one."I was a just Toa. I protected and saved many. Yet I was not there to save my fellow Toa friends. They died in the siege of Ta-Koro, some decades ago. Do you know where I was? I was a protective escort in a ship that was leaving Ta-Koro to send goods to Ga-Koro. The sailing was as sweet as bright red fruit, the sea as peaceful as the plains. I idled and sat back, and I lost all of them."Beat-five, one. One two-one."And here I am now. Withered, songless, waiting. Don't cast yourself away for past ignorance. Don't become me."

IC: Mero Kiap - Onu-Koro StreetsMero sighed, "I don't I just met him five minutes ago," He growled, speaking through his teeth. He stalked off after Kirgon, "Nevermind."He called out to Kirgon, "So your island is in utter turmoil and you're off looking for treasure! You're no worse than us!"

IC: Mero Kiap - Onu-Koro StreetsMero looked first to Jokar before turning back around to face Kirgon, "Next time you insult Toa think of what you've done to contribute lately Matoran," He clicked his throat and called out again. This time louder, "Don't call us useless when you've done less than us!"He leaned forwards a little bit and pointed, "What have you done? When was the last time you did something about the state of this island? Have you ever?" Mero raised his voice, "When was the last time you've tried to figure out what really happened to the Toa Mata? What about the Chronicler's Company? The Makuta even?"Mero spoke through his teeth, this time a little more quietly, and better articulated than before, "Don't talk to me about being useless."

IC: Shohu understood now. "But...that means...you went beyond the power needed for a Nova Blast." He suddenly realized that he would become a Turaga if he overused his power....but wouldn't it have to be for something that was worth it? "I'm a bit confused...but never mind that now. If you could give me a more in-depth explanation of what the karz we're doing though, that would be great. What's so special about Taipu? And the Toa Mata?"OOC: I still wish I could get that old 2001 feeling back...haven't felt it for a long time. :(

IC: Valria wasn't sure what to make of the newcomer, he seemed so unaware like her. Still she wasn't one to trust so easily and avoided glancing at the other Toa, unsure of him already. Of course that was her nature, she had basically attached herself at the hip with Agni, afraid of leaving the Toa of Fire. Meanwhile somewhere deep inside her, she balked at the idea, but another side knew that she was still weak and not exactly as mentally or emotionally stable as she need to be. She tried to levitate a few small pebbles, but they barely lifted an inch in the air before her control faltered. She sighed disappointed.

OOC: Franziska von Karma?IC: [Arkrak]Arkrak raised a figurative eyebrow as he watched his fellow Toa of Sonics attack the matoran-like being. It reminded him of a play he had seen once, where one of the sort-of antagonists, who was a prosecutor, also had a whip and randomly attacked people. It seemed as if the other Toa fitted the part perfectly."It seems rather rude to randomly attack someone," he said dryly, looking at the two.

IC:"Why are they here, indeed...?" Agni mused. "I did hear the Captain of the guard talk about this with Turaga Vakama once. They didn't say much, but the Turaga mentioned a change in the stars. Maybe the answer lies in them. But I understand very little of these things. They are best left to the scholars of Ko- and Ga-Wahi."It was then that the three arrived at the southern Onu-Koro crossroads. There were numerous paths to chose from. The sign pointing back where they had come from read "Le/Ta-Koro Highway". Another pointed to the left, to the west, leading to the "Ko-Koro passage."But Valria and Agni had to take the path directly ahead to follow the sign that led "To Po-Koro.""Well, friend," Agni said, "You will have to make a decision. My companion and I are traveling south, to the village of stone. Which road do you wish to take?"

IC: It was a nearly sleepless night for Banua. A thousand worries continued to bedevil him into the wee hours of the morning. He knew what he must do, but could not bear the thought. Finally, the toa drifted into a fitful sleep, filled with dreams of screams and ferocious rahi.Early the next morning, he arose, absorbed the energy from his breakfast, and set to refurbishing his toa tools and refreshing his knowledge of Po-wahi and the dangers that the caravan could encounter. At half past 8, Banua set out across the village to the tunnel that would lead him to the village of stone. There he met Vade and a few other matoran who would be coming along for the journey. A couple of them began whispering when they saw him approach – the ex-hero of Onu-koro emerging at last? What could this mean? At least that was what he thought they must be saying. Momentarily, he thought of using his faxon to grant him the advanced hearing of a subterranean worm, but then thought better of it. Let them whisper. There would be plenty to speak of before the day was out, whatever he fate of their expedition. In a way, it gave him pleasure to think that his adventures might again be discussed by the Onu-matoran around their campfires.OOC: There are others coming, right? Are there any other PCs?

OOC: Sorry for not posting earlier, I've been quite busy. Also, there are other matoran coming, but not any other PCs.IC:Vade saw Banua coming. He walked over to him."Hello," he said. "The cargo for the convoy will be arriving in half-an-hour's time. We'll then be loading it onto the ussal carts, which are arriving shortly."

And kudos IO. You're a pretty sharp kid to understand all that at 9.

IC: Kirgon"You act like I should be surprised about that, and you're right, I haven't done anything to help anyone."He turned back to Mero, a monstrous snarl on his face."I failed when I tried to join the Gukko Force, I wasn't good enough!"He screamed, stepping closer."I failed at joining the Ta-Koro guard. I wasn't a good enough fighter."His hands were clenched tightly into fists of intense rage."I wasn't good enough for the ussalry either!"He threw his disk launcher down in anger."I have tried! But not matter what I try, I am never good enough! Never! Never! Neveeeer!"With that last scream, he stormed off toward the Le-Wahi tunnel, grabbed his launcher off of the ground.
