Flintsmith
Larger PicGigantic Pic Two hard plastic krana. The red one was made from a LEGO brick. The clear was made from broken eyeglasses. There's another, sparkly-clear made from a CD. The red was my third attempt, the clear was the fourth. 7 Quote How I make metal masks. Trans-purple Kaukau Olda . UngluedBike
Those are interesting! You should play with some other materials, Krana variants and also drill the eyes out! Definitely something new! 25K Now!
Pretty snazzy. For the LEGO Brick one, did you melt a brick down and mold it or something? How did the rest get made? Quote http://vimeo.com/198967785 BZPRPG Profiles
avmatoran
How did you do this? It's cool! I would imagine a 3d printer did these, but I'm not sure if you could use materials like that in one easily. Quote Γαρ επιστιμη! Для науки! For science! Ziontyro Metalhead
I think he may have used a small plastic injection machine or simply poured melted plastic into a mold. He would have either ground up the plastic into smaller pieces, or melted it slowly. Anyway, I can't tell what it was because these are basically finished products, and I see little sign of cleanup that he may have done. Flintsmith
I melted a 2 x 3 brick in the oven then clamped it between the two halves of a mold. I'm waiting for my temperature controller to show up, then I'll try injecting. Quote How I make metal masks. Trans-purple Kaukau Olda .
Gonny
Those turned out nicely. May I ask what you used to make the molds? My attempts with plaster never turned out too well. The Hip Historian Iaredios
These are so cool You might want to update your metal mask making topic though. After seeing these I was interested to see how it is done, and the page has gone a l'kapoot.
