2006. Best Matoran, best villains (as personality goes), best titans, and both the Toa Nuva and Toa Inika. Can't beat that, if you ask me.

I'm saying 2006. Mostly because of the Piraka and the "titan" characters.

I was going to put '01, but I think most of the characters didn't come into their own until '03.

What's wrong with public polls?I'd say 2007 had the best characters, even though I liked 2008 more as a year.

2006. Can't beat that epic year! Nice heroes, both the Nuva and Inika, awesome villains, the Piraka, Vezon, and Brutaka, and there was Axonn, the Matoran Resistance Group, Botar, and much more!

I'll have to go with 2001. I loved the originality of each Matoran, and I must say, Kapura takes the cake as one of the best Matoran.

I actually felt the Toa Mata were the most developed of the Toa teams. We got such a feel for each of them and an in-depth 3-dimensional personality. I'd probably specify 2001, since it was the introduction of the Mata, and numerous other loveable characters. Taipu, the absent-minded adventurous miner, Tamaru, the Le-Matoran afraid of heights. Hafu, the arrogant but well-meaning carver. They were all great, and while later years built upon them, 2001 is when were first immersed in their ticks and quirks.

Though I'm sticking by that opinion from the other topic, I think 2006 takes second place. New and old mixed together and it's all great.
