Star Wars: Odysseys

IC (Day Three, Wrea)The office was fairly easy to spot, it as built into the side of the spaceport which seemed to be more or less the largest building in town. Through the thin crowds of sentients and droids one could see two large Huk clad in blast armor standing guard over a rather beaten blast door. They were wielding over-sized blaster rifles that would be unsuitable for use any other species...if only because of the size of the trigger. The two guards seemed rather bored, though they could have been completely alert. It was hard to tell with insectoids,

IC (Lott Dod, NPC, Day One)"We will be providing a means of entry." Now that they had all signed the contract, Dod could divulge the transportation plan. "At Coruscant system grid coordinates R34, you will find a heavy munitions cruiser waiting for you. This is the Bounty. It is captained by an associate of mine. Harro Ruuk, I believe you might you have heard of him? He gained distinction during the Hyperspace wars. He will see you to Kalee...if you do not have the means of reaching this vessel, the Trade Federation will provide you with a shuttle. You will find it in my private hanger. Harro will brief you in full once you arrive. This information is...very sensitive."IC (Yan'Hev'uruodo, NPC, Day One, Naboo)"Perhaps. It'll depend on how long this takes I suppose." The speeder swung around again and, on the edge of the lake, one could see a small tower jutting from a forested courtyard. It was a rather ornate building, built in the standard Naboo style with some Coruscanti influence. "That would be the estate. We'll be landing shortly. I suggest you buckle up....sudden stops can be unpleasant."

IC(Day Three, Wrea Spaceport): The bounty hunter walked confidently towards the door the Yam'rii were guarding the blast door. There was, he was discovering, quite a difference between walking confidently and actually being confident, the former mainly requiring that you pretend you're not worried about what happens if the guards don't like your credentials, and the latter requiring that you actually buy it. Still, the heavy, electronic sound his helmet gave to his voice was quite sufficient to make up the difference when it came time to convince someone else that you were confident, and he had his bounty hunting license ready to start the conversation on his terms.Standing in front of the door-guards, he held his license up at eye-level, and introduced himself as someone looking to take advantage of a certain employment opportunity being offered by the Huk.

IC: (Roma, Day One)Roma went over what she knew about Heavy Cruisers in her head. Ah, so she could park her fighter in the cargo bay. "I can get there fine."IC: (Rorl, Day One)Rorl spoke. "My ship is currently undergoing repairs from a mission gone bad. I can either hitch a ride with one of you or take the representative's shuttle."

No such thing as destiny.

IC (Huk Guards, Wrea, Spaceport)The guard scanned the license, decided he didn't much care if it was authentic or not (they needed all the willing volunteers they could get) and nodded. He rather suspected the armored hunter wouldn't understand his species language and he didn't have a protocol droid handy...and he didn't speak basic very well. The guard's comrade spoke in the clicking tongue of the Huk into a comm-link. Moments later the blast door slide open. Admitting the hunter into the Huk offices.IC (Yan'Hev'uruodo, NPC, Day One, Naboo)The speeder stopped suddenly and with such force it would have caused anyone who wasn't bucked up to introduce their forehead to the dashboard. The speeder began to lose height rapidly before touching down on the estate's landing pad with a resounding thunk. "Well. We're here. I'll just unlock these..." The locks on the doors clicked. "...and I think you're all set. The senator should be waiting in his office."

IC(Day Three, Wrea Spaceport): The hunter did not, in fact, have any idea what the Huk was saying, but the message behind the door opening was fairly unambiguous. Lowering his license, he stepped into the office, and was immediately eaten by a gazebo looking for someone who spoke Basic.

IC (Lott Dod, Day One)"Unless any of you have pressing business...now would be preferable. Time is money...and the Federation does not enjoy losing money." Dod smiled at his small joke and rose from his chair. "My droids will escort you when you are ready. I have some business to attend to." By business he of course met he would be trying his utmost to finish up the Huntsmen Ale. Harro was a good man, a solid commander, he could handle things from here.IC (Day Three, Wrea Spaceport)The first thing the hunter would notice would be a pair of Hunter-Killer Droids stationed on each side of the corridor, their merciless metal gazes pointed straight ahead. At the end of the corridor was a small room and scuttling up from it was a Huk clad in a thin set of robes. Hive-Speaker Sedifou spoke basic quite well thanks to a cybernetic attachment in his vocal cords, so he had been placed in charge of this small outpost. "Greetings! Greetings!" His voice had a distorted tone to it, as if he was speaking through light static. "I assume you are here about the article we posted?"

IC-Jaron:"Nice, nice. I can't even remember how much this thing cost when I got it, but it's certainly paid for itself nearly five times over, getting me out of some hairy situations." He quickly lowered the ramp, walking out, and tossed Kol the code for the speeder."The thing's on rent," he said. "Leave it at any station you find, if you don't end up using it, mmkai?" That said, he quickly turned, waking away from the docking pad and on to the centre of the sector he had landed by earlier.

IC-Jaron:As Jaron walked, he smelled something. Death. Charred flesh. Ionized air, the remnant aftereffects of a battle. The fear and pain the beings felt as their lives were cut short still in the air, in the force, circulating. Something more. The killer. Force sensitive, he could feel it. The Sith smiled. Using his senses, mainly that of the Force, he located the being's trail, bright against the lifeless backdrop in this place. And he followed it, dropping into the alley unnoticed. It didn't turn much, keeping mostly straight, onward to the shipyards, likely. And Jaron proved correct. There were many beings there, but a quick focusing revealed one of them, a bright flame in the midst of grey, nearly lifeless dirt walking about. He stepped up near the being, who was currently admiring a Delta-6 starfighter, unnoticed.A second later he noticed something more. A weapon. An archaic force saber, modified, possibly, to be a bit more up-to-date. How interesting. The second after that and the force saber flew from the surprised man's belt and into Jaron's hand, who activated it via simply channeling his own force power through its crystals, looking at it interestedly."Durable construction," he noted. "But rather plain. Still, the beauty is evident. Wherever did you get this?"

IC(Day Three, Wrea Spaceport): The hunter was relieved, but not exactly surprised, to be greeted in Basic. Considering the language the advert was posted in, it would have been highly unusual for them to not have someone prepared to deal with Basic-speaking applicants."That is correct. The posting was somewhat non-specific with regards to some aspects of the contract, but the pay seems to be acceptable."

IC: Camlach (Coruscant Shipyard, Day 1)Camlach suddenly felt a presence near him; a force-user was nearby. His head snapped towards the source as suddenly his saber was pulled from his waist as it flew into the force-user’s hand as he used his force powers to activate the blade. Camlach tensed his hand closing into a fist; he didn’t like this man holding his weapon.“That actually is none of your business.” He said as he used the force to wrench it out of his hand and into his own, the blade vanishing as it was released from Jaron’s hand.“This blade is not some old Sith saber as you may believe.” He said. “Its far older, the design is of the Rakata if you know of them.” He said, pulling back his hood and revealing his handsome face and the grey cloth covering his eyes. Through his force-sight Camlach could see a huge amount of red energy coursing from Jaron.“You are of the dark side.” He said softly.

IC-Jaron:"Why, yes, actually--" the blade stopped in midair, instead, Jaron drawing it back to him with seemingly little effort. "I live where the Rakata used to live. I have good experience with these." He activated it again, looking at the blade, the hilt, feeling the crystals within. A moment later he deactivated it, tossing it back."And yes, you would be correct. I can feel the same of you." He grinned, slightly."I would recommend you be more careful to hide the bodies next time you kill somebody."

IC (Hive-Speaker Sedifou, Day Three, Wrea Spaceport)"We hear that quite often. Ah..." The static seemed to subside for a moment. Sedifou looked about the room, seeking something out. "...it appears our Mr. Stimtea is nonfunctional. Would like something liquid? I could have some water brought in. I assume your helmet has systems that allow consumption?" Sedifou knew the reputation of the Ubese hunters, if this one was interested in working for the them it would be a great boon. The Kaleesh were growing restless and the Huk had a civilian population to defend. "If that is not the case, I suppose we can get down to business." Sedifou gestured to the one of the empty chairs clustered about the room. IC (Palpatine's Estate, Naboo, Day One) Yan nodded before reaching over and closing the door. Moments later the speeder lifted off once more, making for a hanger near the top of the tower. The sudden metallic click of armor on cobblestone revealed the presence of a small group of commando's making their way across the courtyard towards the landing pad. They were in full combat gear, evidently taking no chances. The Senate Commandos had taken paranoia and made it into an art form.

IC: Camlach (Coruscant Shipyard, Day 1)The Miraluka caught he blade as Jaron tossed it back before magnetically attaching it to his belt. “You did? Which planet?” he asked. He had always been interested in the ancient empire, and had visited many of their ruins.“It wasn’t easy acquiring this blade… their warrior droids protected it well.” He said. It was a marvel of technology that such droids could still exist after so long.“I don’t deal in absolutes.” Camlach said. “I use the dark-side because it is a tool, a tool to help me get the job done.” He said. “I am neither Jedi nor Sith,” he said.He tensed again when Jaron mentioned the bodies. “I would have if I thought I had the time.” He said.“What is your name stranger?” he asked. “I hope you don’t plan on reporting me, I don’t think that would end well for you.” He said.

IC(Day Three, Wrea Spaceport): "Most people who design this sort of helmet don't plan on the user eating or drinking during a fight. Let us get straight to working out the details of the contract."The hunter took a seat, briefly wondering if bounty hunters actually talked like that. He had a feeling that their response wouldn't be along the lines of 'uh, no thanks,' but he got the feeling there was a fine line between businesslike and awkward, and he was walking that line like a legless Gungan.

IC-Jaron:"My name is of no import," Jaron said after a moment. "And absolutes don't matter, because they don't exist. Everything is a shade of grey, really." Then he grinned, showing his teeth. Animalistic, now. Wolfish. "Finally, no, I don't plan to report you. If I wanted to be rid of you, I'd already be rid of you. In fact, I could get rid of you right now. Care to test?"Laughing at his own little joke, he waved aside the remark, moving over to the ship. It was a rather standard ship, the only difference he noticed at first glance being the paint job. He moved about, checking the engines, knowing he was being watched by the Miraluka he'd spoken to, and he grinned. It was a simple matter to move from his illusions to move to block his presence in the force entirely, instead of just hiding it, which he did.To Camlach, it would appear that he had disappeared.

IC (Hive-Speaker Sedifou, Day Three, Wrea Spaceport)"Very well." That was odd, most hunters never turned down a chance for free refreshment...but it took all kinds he supposed. "There is a situation brewing on Kalee. The natives have become most disruptive to our colonization efforts. They are straying out of their designated sectors and beginning to attack our patrols and settlements. Thus far, it has been independent and uncoordinated actions. We feel this might change however, and need someone of your skills to ensure their chain of command remains disorganized. You will have to work on your own for a large part of this assignment and it will require advanced survival knowledge...."IC (Palpatine's Estate, Naboo, Day One) The lead commando nodded. "Yes sir. We've been ordered to see you to the senator. I trust you have no objections." He gestured to a nearby door. "The turbolift is through there."

IC(Day Three, Wrea Spaceport): The hunter nodded. He wasn't familiar with Kalee or its natives, but the same sort of pattern had played out several times in history. The Huk representative was certainly not telling him everything, and was probably lying outright on a few key details."And what portion of the pay is up-front? Funds will be required to defray costs incurred while I am carrying out an unknown number of decapiter strikes for you, to wit, ammunition, consumables, fuel, and any specialized equipment that may become necessary as the situation progresses." This felt more natural - from his studies, it was basically lawyer-speak, but, really, what was this but negotiation on the price and payment structure for a service being rendered? He could get used to, at the least, the business side of bounty hunting.

It hovered in place for a moment before it's engines slowly shut off and it lowered to the ground. The doors hissed as the hatch slowly opened. A starfish shaped droid, me, stepped out. "Where"s the bounty office?" I asked.

IC(Corellia, Coronet Spaceport, Day 1):Csarissa had been separated from the bounty hunter by the explosion. She now lay on her right side, feet towards the door. The bounty hunter was facing the opposite direction. She quickly assessed the new attackers: two Rodians, two humans, and a Duros, none of whom she recognised. One of the Rodians was not holding a rifle and stood further back. She assumed that it had been him who had spoken, and given the words he had used earlier, the one who had hired the man she had been fighting.Using her position in relation to the gunmen as concealment, Csarissa subtly retrieved a cylindrical object from a pouch on her belt. She waited a few seconds as the Rodian began to address the bounty hunter, then she spontaneously rolled to her left and hurled the object in the opposite direction with her eyes squeezed shut. The two gunmen who had their rifles trained on her instinctively fired, but she had already moved from the target position. A split-second later their vision was enveloped in an infinite whiteness. Cursing ensued.Csarissa made use of the distraction to grab her knife from the floor and then hurtled up the ramp of her starship. She slammed her hand on the ramp control button and rushed to the cabin port cabin to retrieve her back up pistol and alert control that she was going to take off. There was a hiss, then a clang. The entrance was shut. The Selonian glanced out into the cargo bay and there stood the bounty hunter from before, sword in hand. She aimed her blaster straight at his chest and hissed venomously. "Drop it."

IC (Hive-Speaker Sedifou, Day Three, Wrea Spaceport)"They will be supplied to you free of charge." The Huk paused for a moment. "We will be willing to arrange transportation and further briefings if you agree to work with us. The signing fee is three thousand credits, with an additional five thousand credits for each high value target eliminated. Nine thousand for each high value target captured. The HVT's will mostly consist of tribal chieftains, holy men and such as. Leadership figures." The Huk shrugged, it was an odd gesture on such a creature. "When you are not in the field, quarters will be provided for you aboard one of our vessels."

He looked around them at Jaron’s words.“Tempting, but I don’t think this is the best place for such a display of power,” he said pausing for a moment. “Though I would enjoy sparing with you, I’d rather that we don’t kill each other; perhaps we could instead be useful to one another.”Suddenly it seemed as if the mysterious force-user had vanished from his force-sight. “Nice trick,” he said. “Though what’s the point? I still know you are there.”

IC: The hunter didn't ask what would be done with captured HVT's. He didn't want to know, and at nine thousand credits each, he didn't care. They had willingly involved themselves in a combat situation, and so they had to accept the consequences if things went sour. Not his fault."I assume I can place requests for needed equipment with the military liaison on-site?"
