Hapori Tohu
LEGO is the ideal toy for many engineering students and has been used in some incredibly unique projects, but this one just might top the list: As part if his final project at Cambridge University, David Knowles volunteered to help conservators at Fitzwilliam Museum. So when a mummy was brought in with a collapsed chest and smashed face, he quickly devised some clever adjustable technic platforms to keep the display structurally sound during the restoration process. The innovation of LEGO fans truly knows no bounds. You can read the full story here.View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
Serpent of Fire
....Aaaaaaaaand thats why I don't buy used bricks. Ew.But seriously, that is some clever use of Lego. Quote I was there when Bionicle started in 2001. The next ten years were a great run. Sadly, all things must come to an end. But I will stop by and check in from time to time. Makuta Almanax
Creative, interesting, and extremely gross. I concur with Serpent of Fire; "ew".what posesses people to come up with these ideas though? It is ingenious Quote Current (still-living) BZRPG Characters: LITOZEN (Toa of Sonics) SANCHII (Toa of Air)THENTYLE (Toa of Earth) MALKAN (Ta-Matoran)CELITE (Turaga of Lightning)
fishers64
Hmm...well, when you need to hide those Lego pieces from your little sister, this works quite well. Unusual type of brilliant genius, but there's something for everyone, I guess. BrickPharaoh
This piece interests for 4 main reasons1) I'm studying Engineering (AWWW YEAH!!!)2) I'm a huge LEGO fan3) I'm studying in the UK (nice to see that students from Cambridge did this sort of things...who knows, maybe next year you'll see the Steelers with a big Lego-based real-life project!!)4) I'm EGYPTIAN!!!!!!! Now that I got some time to cool down, amazing news!! Really hoping to pull off a Lego-based contribution to engineering sometime in the near future. Quote "Welcome to Valhalla, Warrior." ToaN
Interesting... I wouldn't want to use THOSE bricks for my MoCs though Have you guys also heard of the Southampton super computer, built with a bunch of Raspberry Pi computers and held together with Lego bricks! >_<
Am I the only one here who wouldn't mind using those parts for MOCing? =PWould be especially cool if it'd be an undead-themed MOC. Edited April 9, 2013 by Zeene
