  1. Yes! They absolutely would, but I am starting to run low on funds. Can you hold them for a little while? Absolutely; I'll do that. I'm just about ready to buy them (if you still have them, that is). All right. I definitely still have them; they've been on hold for you.
  2. Before I leave this topic permaneantly, I'll answer this post from Reznas. LEGO doesn't technically ban BZPower from discussing leaks. BZPower bans discussion of leaks because of the points they mention in this topic, BZPower's Leaked Content Policy. Not to mention discussion of leaks causes lots and lots of spam like we've seen in this very topic. -Rez I never said that Lego directly prevents us from allowing discussion of leaked information. It is true that the staff here are attempting to preserve Lego's privacy and prevent people from assuming things about the sets too early; that much can be gained from our leaked content policy, which I've actually been aware of for some time, though I still appreciate that you gave me the benefit of the doubt. The only reason for preventing members here from discussing leaked images is to support Lego's desire to keep them quiet; my point was that the ban, while intended to be helpful to Lego, is practically meaningless to them when the leaks are being talked about all over the internet, including on their own message boards. There have been a few spam posts in this topic, but they've made up a very small portion of what has otherwise been an engaging and vibrant discussion on an topic which holds a lot of significance to our community. There haven't been more than seven spam posts, at most.
  3. We are now fully allowed to discuss YouTube, but we're still kept from discussing leaked content, though people continue to do so anyway. Coming off of that, I think that it's completely ridiculous for us to be forbidden to discuss the leaked set images, numbers, and names that have been spreading all over the internet over the past three and a half weeks. Lego isn't benefiting in any way from the ban that prevents our pitifully tiny community from discussing the leaks; they've so far spread to Eurobricks, Brickset, Brickipedia, and pretty much every single other forum for Lego or Bionicle discussion in existence, most of which are much larger and important to Lego than we are. They have much more to lose in potential negative publicity and internal secrets on sites such as Eurobricks and Brickset, on which the leaks are being discussed in full force. There's absolutely no reason for the staff here to continue to enforce the old ban on discussing leaked images in light of the revival of Bionicle in 2015. If it were up to me, I'd retire that rule right away. On all other Lego and Bionicle discussion sites, nearly everyone discussing the point of whether or not Bionicle will be revived in 2015 is in agreement that it definitely will, so much that it's barely even a question anymore. That isn't the case here. A significant number of members are still skeptical of the fact that Bionicle will be revived in 2015, and I'm almost certain that it's because many of them haven't seen the leaks or heard a full explanation of all of the evidence pointing to the revival. Even since the leak of the colored display stand, there are still members who write the discussion of the revival off as an overabundance of wishful thinking, which would make them seem misled at best if they were familiar with the recent leaks. It's very sad for me to see the members of this site, formerly the undisputed center for Bionicle reference and discussion in the world, arguing over the likelihood of a revival of the line for hours when a single calm, informed, and detailed post about all of the leaked information would send our community into a state of excitement and activity that hasn't been seen in years. It's almost painful for me to watch. From now on, I'll be staying out of the topic; you can find me on Eurobricks.
  4. None of that is what made it great to begin with, though; vehicles didn't appear until 2002 with the boxor, mounts until 2004 with Toa Lhikan and the Kikanalo, and none of the launchers you mentioned pre-date 2008. What made it great is subjective, of course, but I should think such a thing would have been present from the beginning. The Midak Skyblaster especially I can't understand the nostalgia for; it was a big hunk of plastic practically half a foot long that could hardly be used for anything besides terrorizing children. The Midak skyblaster was three inches long and shot further and with greater accurately than any projectile weapon appearing in a constraction set before or since. I never really used them for terrorizing children, and though there might have been some accidents involving them in, I don't think that I was the only one who didn't.

  6. Whoa! The other photographs are so much more convincing than the first one of Onua! I'm so excited for these sets! Nope. Hey Dane, and welcome to BZPower! Most of us have already seen that picture, which has been all over the internet for the past day or so. In fact, an speculation video on the picture by the thethreevirtues was linked to in this topic yesterday. although said link has since been removed. Posting or discussing any leaked media from Lego is disallowed here on BZPower, though you're fine this time around as you're new here. If you have any more questions about the rules around leaked media from Lego, you can take a look at our Leaked Content Policy.
  7. Very funny. Just in case anyone takes your picture too seriously, it looks very different from the picture of Onua on the photograph of the display stand that was leaked yesterday. On the display stand, he has gold shins, purple thighs, a black Hulk chestplate, gold and black upper arms, purple forearms, a head connection which involves a narrower section of raised upper back than that of Gorzan, similar to the head connection on the Cragger ultrabuild set from 2013, blue eyes, and a black staff with a silver head. Excepting the Hulk chestplate and some vague similarities in the raised upper back, he doesn't look very similar to last year's Gorzan ultrabuild set to me. As Aanchir said earlier, the creators of these leaks should be working for Lego if they aren't already doing so. At the moment, myself and several others are in agreement that there will probably be a revival of Bionicle next year.
  8. Not to mention that if this is a hoax, the people involved potentially had like four years to work on it and make it ridiculously convincing Always go with the benefit of the doubt. Nothing is "confirmed" unless it is confirmed by official sources. If there has been a secret, multi-year project being undertaken by multiple members of the fan community to generate a hoax like this, then the people involved definitely win the trophy for "Best BIONICLE fans". Doesn't matter whether they've chosen to express their love of BIONICLE by duping other fans. The fact of the matter is that they would have shown greater commitment and resolve than members of pretty much ANY other fan community project aimed at continuing BIONICLE's legacy — and done a better job engaging the rest of the community to boot. Better than Solis Magna, better than B:TNG, etc. Actually, assuming that the leaks thus far have been hoaxes, I'd say that it does matter that they've chosen to use their skills to lie to Bionicle fans. Neither the BNG team nor the SolisMagna.com team has lied to fans. Neither has tried to pass of faked images of MOCs as new sets. Creating fake images and passing them off as real is morally awful; it would be a massive insult to the rest of the fan community if they had done so. Not only that, but the method of faking them that seems to indicate that they're from Lego is a surefire way of generating plenty of excitement in the community. A fan project that can duplicate enough of Lego's symbols and format on their purported "leaked images" allows for a huge amount of undeserved hype to be created. I'm sure that the BNG team would have been able to trick a sizable chunk of the fandom into thinking that Lego was planning to revive Bionicle if they wanted to; they definitely had the 3D modeling and graphic design skills to do so. The avoided doing that because it would be a lie. An outright lie, and one of the worst that anyone could tell to the fandom. {Ends long and serious incriminating statement which may or may not actually apply.} Personally, I'd suggest that you go out and look at the evidence in order to decide for yourself, as anyone else's opinion on the issue could have at least a bit of their own personal biases included.
  9. What makes you think that it's a direct continuation? I can see how it appears to be a continuation of the old story, but I think there is enough time between the two to make the old story pretty much meaningless. The Toa Mata are still Toa, and it looks like the Mask of Life (with Mata Nui in it) are still directly involved. That's exactly where Journey's End ended. Ummm... Journey's End ended with five of the Toa Nuva in their Nuva forms, not their Mata forms. The only one who was in his Mata form was Tahu. I don't see the Mask of Life anywhere on the display image, either. If you want to point out its location to me via PM, I'd be glad to hear it.
  10. Prior to 2005, every Bionicle set was biological, as all of its pieces were made from plastic, and mechanical, as it would have included a gear function. Wham!

Ah yeah; I meant to say that 2005 was the first year that some of the sets didn't have gear functions in 2005, not that some weren't made out of plastic. The point was that prior to 2005, every single set was actually bio-mechanical, and that that ceased to be the case in 2005 due to the introduction of sets that didn't include gear functions. Sorry about that.

Well, I didn't really word my status too well that time around. I probably could have been a lot more clear.

  11. We shouldn't rule out the possibility that the revival will be announced then; this year at the Comic-Con has definitely seen Lego announce many things. It's impossible to be sure, of course, but it would really be great if the announcement happened so soon. I'm not too familiar with the idea of booking "slots" at the Comic-Con; could you clarify what those are?
  12. Which Chima Ultrabuild sets do you have?
  13. Even after thirteen years, Hapori Tohu doesn't show any signs of aging. He's also staring at the exact same spot.
  14. My mom and my sisters are traveling from Cape Cod tomorrow to watch 5 Seconds of Summer on the Today Show in NYC. I'm hoping that they'll take a few videos; assuming that they're able to get decent seats!

  15. Based on the evidence that I've found thus far, I'm almost certain that the line will be revived in 2015. Typically, I'd remain skeptical in cases such as these until official confirmation is given; however, the sheer amount of evidence that has come to light in the past few weeks has led me to believe differently.
  16. The anniversary of BZPower's founding has finally arrived! It's quite a special day, I'm sure, for many of us; personally, I'm being flooded with memories of when I first discovered this site back in the summer of 2008. I'm looking forward to many more years of an active community here.
  17. Even though the release of a game for that system is very unlikely, I'd love to have one. An Oculus game for Bionicle's revival would truly make my day. Bring on the virtual reality for the Bionicle universe, everybody! Even though we only saw Rahkshi of heat vision in set form that year, those of at least one other type were definitely fighting on Teridax's side in the Battle of Bara Magna. From the BS01 page on Rahkshi: "Rahkshi legions, enhanced with stronger armor by Teridax, were later summoned to the Southern Islands by Teridax, who planned to release them upon Bara Magna. A large number of Rahkshi of Heat Vision and Quick Healing were present in the assembled army, and Skakdi also joined their ranks." At the very least, there were a large number of Rahkshi of quick healing in the battle also; thus Tahu would have absorbed the powers of both heat vision and quick healing from the kraata that the golden armor incinerated.
  18. I must have misunderstood; it might have been your mention of "another" constraction theme that confused me. Anyway, I'm glad that we got that straightened out. I'll be able to PM both you and Noise #0579 about the evidence that I have tomorrow afternoon; you can look for it then. I'm trying to avoid being rude or spiteful also; this discussion seems to bring out strong emotions in members pretty often.
  19. There's plenty of other evidence. I agree that Bionicle would not typically be considered a new theme; in fact, I was just as skeptical, mainly on this point, as you until I had found all of my current evidence. I have no idea what "other" constraction theme you're referring to. No official source has mentioned a second new constraction theme with a release date in 2015. Since you still seem to be unconvinced, would you like me to send the PM that I'll be sending to Noise #0579 to you too?
  20. I don't mean to be blunt, but if your evidence for why Bionicle will be returning in 2016 consists entirely of a feeling that it "seems" unlikely, it might be hard to get people to seriously consider your opinion. We've already found an gigantic amount of concrete evidence to support the theory that the theme will be revived in 2015, while nothing has surfaced that would suggest a revival in 2016. About that “gigantic amount of concrete evidence”…what you cite is: -Leaks, which are unconfirmed -Lego’s response, which might be reasonable, but could I ask to see this response? -Greg’s “suggestion”, which, if I’m right about what it is you’re referring to, is a case of people hearing what they want to hear rather than an actual suggestion -Removal of a pinned statement on a forum, which also sounds reasonable So that’s four points, at least two of which are shaky at best. Words like “gigantic” and “concrete” aren’t exactly applicable here. I assure you that the term "gigantic" is perfectly descriptive of my evidence. The leaks are, in effect, confirmed to be real in light of Lego's response. Likewise, Greg's suggestion is definitely not a case of wishful thinking on the part of his readers, and it is completely unreasonable for you to assume that without having knowledge of the context of the situation or of his exact response. I'd be glad to show you the statement sent by Lego to the offending Flickr members, as well as Greg's post in the official Chat with Greg Farshtey thread on the Lego Message Boards, but I'd prefer to do so by PM. Will that work?

  22. that's hardly even 50% green i mean, yeah, the 2008 colors sucked, but your claim is erroneous I'd call that about 60% green, as some of his green is less clear from that angle. This picture from the BZP review of Lewa's Phantoka set, while missing his pins, shows off his green parts a bit better. You're right, though, that my numbers were off by a fair bit. I'll accept that.
  23. l Lewa is the Toa of air, not the jungle What does that have to do with anything? Last I checked, air in real life isn't green OR brown. In fact, most of the time it doesn't have any color at all. So there's no reason a green and brown Toa would be any less of an air Toa than a green one. The actual color of air, if such a thing even exists, isn't what matters to anyone here. We do, however, want Lewa to remain mostly green because each version of his set has always been ninety percent green, at minimum. Even as his shade of green has changed, he's always maintained the same general coloring. He's had one of the most consistent color patterns of any of the Toa Nuva, and it would be nice to keep that.
  24. I already have! Check out the second of these two videos.
