Boidoh
Feels good to start using the term, BIONICLE Gen 1. Anyways, I am continuing my buying of several "GEN 1" BIONICLE sets. Now I don't know which ones to get because there are so many to chose from. Help me here. My criteria: 1. Generally must cost nowadays on sites like eBay or Amazon about less than $20USD. 2. Must be cool looking, have a cool function, or anything of the sort. Heck, I'd say all BIONICLEs are cool. I got the Fikou, THAT IS COOL! 3. This is probably the most important one for me. They must be canonically ALIVE, or in the current state that their set form is in. I don't want to be buying some dead Toa/Matoran/Turaga or extinct rahi species, or some Matoran who has long since transformed into Toa, or Makuta who have met their end long ago, or Toa who are no longer in their Karda Nui forms (canonically they are in a desert form and jungle form(for Lewa). Thanks! Oh and one last thing, though this pertains to canon. Are the Barraki still in their mutated forms? I think I read that their mutations were cured by Mata Nui, but I'm not sure if that refers to their inability to breath air, or their severe mutations. EDIT: I suppose I should mention the sets I already have to avoid someone repeating them. Toa Hagah IruiniRahkshi of Heat VisionRoporakFikouSolek Toa Nuva Kopaka (Adaptive Armor)Toa Nuva Pohatu (Adaptive Armor)PridakToa Hordika Whenua and Nuju (Combined to create the Sea Spider)Berix I was looking for Toa Hagah Norik to complete the two Hagahs, but it seems the cheapest one is a NIB one for $55 USD. And I see a lot of Iruinis. Somehow there are more Iruinis than Noriks. Norik must be popular... (even though Iruini has the better color scheme and rhotukas.) I Exist
The only reason because Iruini can be found with more ease then Norik is because he was available in both the dual package and on it's own. However, Norik was only available via the Dual Special Edition package that contained both Iruini and Norik. As for great sets to buy, I would tell you to get the Toa Mahri (the latest form of Kongu, Jaller, Nuparu, Hewki and Nuparu). They are still alive and in this form so it fits your expectations. I would tell you to get Matoro as well (he's my favorite of the Mahri), but he's dead since 2007. Shadow Destroyer
I would recommend the rest of the Rahkshi, (for army building) and also the Toa Metru. I'm also a big fan of the vahki, and they aren't too expensive. 1 Quote Thank you to the Dark Beings Banner and Avatar Shop for the banner! Boidoh
Get a Vezon. I know you're working on a near-MOC of him, but technically he's still in set form. You might want to cut the Ignika off of his head though. I'm working on a near MOC for 2 reasons. 1. The first and most important was that BIONICLE 2015 was coming and I wanted to break apart my 2 Toa Nuva Phantoka sets to build something canon. Most combiners were extinct now... I realized I had some Skakdi parts someone gave me in trade for doing his homework (this was 3 something years ago or so) and said, "Hey, I should build Vezon!" And build him, I did. 2. This one was quickly debunked by Greg. I wanted to have a Vezon that showed that he absorbed the Olmak, I was gonna order the Olmak and a couple gold coloured pieces. Then I asked Greg and he saved my some bucks by saying Vezon looked the same. I don't have to cut the Ignika off, I could easily say that is the Olmak! I'm almost done with it, I just need the correct head and some recolors and correct legs, and it is completed! http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4030390http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4030391 And on price, Vezon and Fenrakk has Fenrakk in it, who no longer is Fenrakk and the Vezon and Kardas set is too expensive and has a non-canon shield on Vezon. I would recommend the rest of the Rahkshi, (for army building) and also the Toa Metru. I'm also a big fan of the vahki, and they aren't too expensive. I'll probably end up getting one or 2 Rahkshi. I'm currently thinking about the white one (Korahk I think?) and the Blue one. The Toa Metru are Turaga now and the Vahkhi are scrap now. I actually have Vahki Bohrdahk but it was created by some fake-oh Enlightened Assembly company, I used it for pieces to make a Ga-Matoran from Mahri Nui. Boidoh
OK, I ended up buying the Cendox V1 and Nui-Rama from eBay. Now I need to make a tough decision... I'll have a poll. I am torn between a couple stuff here. The total price must NOT add up to more than $20. I've already decided I'd buy two rhotuka packs. - $1 (combined) So I have to chose between: Kiina - $5Morak - $3.50Nektaan (The Thief/Murderer (Piraka)) - $3.50Tahu Stars - $7.50Takanuva Stars - $4.50Zesk - $2.50 Reasoning for Tahu and Takanuva, I have 4 Toa of differing elements, Kopaka, Pohatu, Iruini, and soon Krakua. That is Ice, Stone, Air, and Sonics. I want 6 Toa to pretend they can make a Toa Seal. So I need two more elements, so I said, why not Tahu, fire, and Takanuva, light. Boidoh
I have reduced the limit of cash to $15, since I bought a bunch of parts and masks and whatnot. So far everyone agrees on Kiina, for some reason...Tahu seems to be hated, I'll get it some other time. Or maybe I should instead save and buy OMEGA TAHU!Morak and Zesk so far are tied, but Morak gets a free +3 for having a glow-in-the-dark part. And Takanuva, because I need a Toa. Maybe polls can change my mind in the times to come. Also, I bought enough spare parts to build a Rahkshi of Elasticity, since I've bought the kraata prior and I thought it needed a body. Toa Smoke Monster
Kiina, Tahu Stars, the Zesk set, and Nektann. Kiina because she is one of the best sets listed out of these. Tahu Stars has a golden Hau. (Not really gold, but you get what I'm saying.) The Zesk for tan pieces. Nektann would be the other, since I think he's cooler than the Takanuva and Morak sets. This is why I voted for these sets. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

Axilus Prime
Kiina and Zesk. The Stars are all horrible and Morak has a Soldified Air Launcher...which is prone to dropping its ammo. Kiina and Zesk aren't anything special either, but they're the best options here.
Boidoh
Zesk is a lie. I'd like a little bit variety here... Which is why I seem turned against having too much stars, and too much 09' sets, especially since I just got the Cendox V1. I just thought I'd get Kiina because she was cheap, with canister, and had an action figure game thing, so I wanted her and the Cendox to do that game thingy. And the Rahkshi of Heat Vision is one of my favorite enemies ever... Archon~
I said Kiina, Nektann, and Tahu Stars. This is my rationale:Kiina is in her current form. awesome, no need to mess with that.Tahu gives you the nice Hau that you can firmly attach to your 2004 and up sets, so even though he's a dwarf, you can use the pieces to rebuild him into a nicer form.Nektann gives you his faceplate, again which you could use to rebuild him in a larger form by following the color scheme template of the set. Hope that helps! But for the love of God, oh please, for the love of God, DON'T get Morak. The set sucks, and they are not even mentioned in story, or if they were their significance is very very minimal, and I think that even 3.50 is a ripoff. Good luck yo! randomreviewerbros
I was looking for Toa Hagah Norik to complete the two Hagahs, but it seems the cheapest one is a NIB one for $55 USD. And I see a lot of Iruinis. Somehow there are more Iruinis than Noriks. Norik must be popular... (even though Iruini has the better color scheme and rhotukas.)Is this a thing? I always saw them sold separately. It might depend regionally. Edit: Welp, quoted the wrong post. Yeah its true, i was lucky enough to get a Norik separately because I went to Europe in 2005 so I got him to complete the Toa Hagah collection, but in North America Norik was only available in the twin pack with Iruini, and for some reason Iruini was only sold separately, which I never quite understood what the marketing ploy was there As for sets you could get, I recommend Kiina like you said, I thought that was one of the best sets of 09 (just a personal opinion), and other sets I recommend would have to be the Mahri, they were great sets and they still exist in their underwater form, and then get Toa Nuva Lewa Phantoka to complete your Phantoka collection, he was my favorite canister sized set from 08 Quote Go check out our Youtube channel! Younre telling me you'd rather get Morak over any of the other sets he listed..? Glow in the dark. Bonus points... Actually Morak was a Hydruka, and the Hyrduka were mentioned quite a lot in the three 2007 books. Plus it is the best looking Hydruka out there! Kiina seems to be a definite YES. It has the highest number of votes, so it must be good.Second, is Morak, since it is leading with the second highest number of votes... I don't see what is wrong with Morak from the pictures, and all the reviews say that he sucks for some reason, but he looks awesome. Plus, he is the better looking Hydruka.Third is Tahu, then Takanuva, then Nektaan. The stars are losing. Tell me, which is the best of the stars.
