Saw the new photos for the upcoming Prince of Persia movie a week or so ago. Also learned that the creator of the game is at least helping on the screenplay.
This makes me VERY happy. Hope has been rekindled, but I'm waiting for a proper trailer before making any judgment.
Also, THANK GOD they're using the Warrior Within outfit design for the Prince. I always thought that it was by far the coolest (and it's also my favorite game of the trilogy).
I really, really wish, more than anything, that there was a solitary place within walking to of my house where I can go and think and get away from it all when I need to.
Just got back from seeing the latest installment of the Harry Potter films. As many have said, it was the best one by far (and this coming from someone who's read the book twice).
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «I am pretty irked, however, that they cut Dumbledore's funeral from the ending.
Finally got my hands on F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin for the PC. I'm a huge fan of the first game; not only did it genuinely scare me a number of times, but the action/gunfights were brilliant and intense, and it had a deep, very well-written story for a horror game.
Needless to say, I've been waiting for Project Origin since it was announced. Obviously, the graphics have come a long way since the first game, and the HUD is very different. Definitely nice to see some variation on environments;
So I got Raid on Vulcanus in the mail today (as well as the Revenge of the Fallen score, which is awesome). And I read through it.
Seriously, since the next book is a movie novelization, buy this one. It's the last true novel we're ever gonna get. Don't be cheap and just wait for spoilers. It's only five bucks, and it's more than worth it.
That said, it's one of the best books since Time Trap. It's weird, though; maybe it's because everything's completely new, but it's almost like reading
I went and saw the midnight showing last night. Good lord, talk about destruction on a global scale.
And I don't mean that negatively. I just mean that a lot of stuff exploded. A LOT. But I liked the movie. Some of the humor was a little dumb and unnecessary, but I got over it. My biggest problem was how irritating the Twins, Skids and Mudflap, were. More that they didn't nothing remotely useful at all in the film, except for one accidental incident.
Number one thing that ultimately made t
So I finally got to see that movie In Bruges. Been wanting to see it since it was first advertised forever ago.
I loved it. Not a straight up comedy like Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, but still pretty hilarious. Plus I like most of the actors I knew would be in it, so I may be slightly biased.
Still, I thought it was well worth the watch.

He rules again

There's always a sparkle of hope

About the dream not meant to be
In a world of the free
He plays with your mind
As faith for the future faded fast
He grows strong with their displeasure
It sets him free

My mother is a medical biller, and the vast majority of her job involves typing on a computer. So when she got it a year or two ago, at the back of my mind, I knew it was only a matter of time before I got it, since I do a lot of typing between school work and fiction.
And sure enough, last week, the pain started.
So now I apparently have carpal tunnel syndrome. It's early enough along that I can probably heal it within a week or so, if not sooner, if I keep this brace on.
Speaking of w
I'm sure this is probably old news, it was confirmed months ago, but I just had to get this out.
Sony Pictures is making a movie based on Shadow of the Colossus. This is a VERY BAD IDEA. One, very rarely do movies based on video games work out. Tomb Raider wasn't terrible, but they could've done better. Silent Hill was the only one that was actually pretty good.
Shadow of the Colossus is a very unique game. Some, myself included, would consider it a work of art, visually. It's plenty cinem
Once that titan Mata Nui set becomes widely available, anyone willing to trade/sell that gold Mask of Life?
It looks REALLY REALLY cool, and ever since the Creeps from the Deep video appeared in January 2007, I've REALLY REALLY wanted that mask in gold. Unfortunately, looking at that set's size, I doubt I'll have the ability to part with that much money due to the much more important college. Not to mention that the set itself is beyond fugly and I have no desire to pay that much for a set l
Oh yes. We went to Toys R Us today and got all six. My brother built half of them, though, so I'll do brief reviews on the three that I built:
Kiina: Yes, she's tall and kinda lanky. However, her custom torso is so worth it. Made with two black "Y" pieces from the 2003 Makuta set, a Vahki leg, two Hordika necks and Metru hips, the only canister set I can think of with a more custom torso would be Pridak. Kiina's helmet is really, really cool, as is her limb armor -- they've got fins! Oh, and
Just got back from seeing "Up" with my cousins, mom and brother. I have to confess that I find myself... disappointed.
When I saw some of the previews for this movie, I can honestly say that it was the first Disney/Pixar movie I genuinely had an interest in since The Incredibles. Cars never really looked that great, an neither did Ratatouille, though I actually liked that one once I saw it. WALL-E did look interesting, but I was far more into The Dark Knight at the time.
Still, this one lo
Just got back from seeing it. I have read the book, twice, and it baffles me how The Da Vinci Code, as a novel, got so much more publicity when I believe that Angels & Demons was far superior.
Regardless, about the film. As a general movie, I liked it. Better than Da Vinci Code. I liked the faster pace that the book had. However, I felt they cut out far too much from the novel. Nothing really crucial to the main plot, just a lot of stuff that would have better explained things and added t
Well, I'm home for the summer. My Freshman year of college is over. Good Lord, that went by so fast. Too fast, I'd say. I already miss my friends there. I've never had friends quite like those at McDaniel College. I hung out with several people in high school, but that was about the extent of it: play video games together and similar stuff. Before college, there was only one person I actually considered a really good friend; i.e. someone to talk to about anything.
Now, I have several of those
Quick! My roommate got me into Dawn of War and is slaughtering me! How do I see cloaked units attacking me? All my stuff keeps dying!
But yeah, REALLY fun game.
Yesterday was the last day of classes for the semester, so all next week is finals, then I go home Friday afternoon. Wow, I can't believe my Freshman year of college is already done and over with. I'm going to sorely miss my friends over the summer. Maybe we can work something out to hang with each other during the break, but I got some really great friends here.
As such, one of my friends offered to take us on a little trip today for some serenity before our finals. We went to Sugarloaf Moun
So the hearing I mentioned in the previous entry was this afternoon. My God was that tense; I have never been so nervous in my life. I am so thankful my friend Katalin was allowed in the room with me -- just her being there helped a lot. Anyway, I was apparently accused of plagiarism on a paper analyzing a short story that I wrote like a month and a half ago. They said I got stuff from Wikipedia. First problem: WIKIPEDIA. Why on earth would I ever go there for any sort of information for any sch
So on top of the three large essays due in the next week, I've apparently been reported to the Honor and Conduct Board for plagiarizing on a paper I don't even remember writing and I have a hearing about it in a week on pretty much whether or not I get kicked out of college.
Joy and happiness.
Hey guys! Home for Easter this weekend, so thought I'd blog a bit.
But OH MY GOD. Next year is going to be awesome! So today (well, at the time of writing this, technically yesterday) was the housing lottery for the substance-free housing for next year. Me, my future roommate Tom, my current rommate Josh, and my friends Nick, Alex and Katalin all agreed to live together there. Not only did we get lucky enough to live together, but we'll all be neighbors: Tom and I in one room, Katalin and her
