  1. BZPower is not the place to air private disputes. Vahkiti has made it very clear he does not want to talk to you, so I encourage you to stop. If you continue to bring this up in topics on BZPower, we will consider restricting your posting privileges. If you want to stay here and talk about Bionicle, you're welcome to do so, but please keep it at that. Thread closed.

  3. We all have one thing in common, being our enjoyment of Bionicle. I’d love to get to know some of you better, and hear your other interests. My main hobby is making video essays- which can be a blast, but equally tiring at times. My favorite part of that is making the thumbnails, because I draw them in MS Paint. It gives me a reason and motivation to actually express my artistic side more. I also quite enjoy playing video games, as I’m sure most people do, and I’ve recently gotten into playing my 3DS more. What do you all enjoy doing outside of the Lego space?

  4. Any coffee aficionados here? Lately I've been drinking coffee in lieu of energy drinks, and I'm looking for different types to try. I'm not really into anything bitter, but I'm also trying not to use too much creamer or anything lol. Also, sometimes my dog rolls onto his back while he's laying in his bed, and I got this hilarious picture He just sat like that for about thirty seconds lol. He's whacked out Can you believe tomorrow is March?? Goodbye winter avatars and banners... ;-;

  7. “you may remember me as that stupid kid parading about as a Dancing Banana or something” Hello! Here merely to say this happy bit from your interests section made my day, and I mourn missing out on witnessing so fine a time! Best wishes! -Random Owner of Handmade Nannerpus Banana Costume.

  8. Actually, I think it's hard for all of us to control our thoughts. It's not just people with OCD.

  10. Cool to hear more about peoples' creativity and intellect As for me, I was recently introduced to Baldur's Gate 3, and because I have very little ability to self-moderate when it comes to video games, have just completed my 4th play through. I think I'm done for a while now 😅 Besides that, I enjoy: Trying out new recipes (I've found Binging with Babish on YT to be great fun) My kitten plays fetch! We try to do that for a stretch every day! I do enjoy reading, and after I finish the Ender's Game saga, I really want to tackle more of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere universe. Dabble in knitting, comes and goes in waves. Simple but functional things like sweaters, hats, a few scarves, and fingerless gloves, maybe mittens. I have no patience for knitting individual fingers. Enjoy board games and card games, although most of the game time has recently been taken up by DnD campaigns with friends/family, which is also fun and very immersive.

  11. Aww, look at that sweet lil smile - what a handsome pup. Now, I don't consider myself a coffee aficionado - perhaps a begrudging semi-dependent. My palate isn't sharp enough to really get into deep and/or subtle flavors and variations. A few factoids I've gleaned over the years that I've found interesting: 1. Light roast has more caffeine than dark roasts. 2. You might enjoy different brewing methods, depending on how much you want to get into the process. Some of my friends really enjoy pour-over coffee, AeroPress, french press, among other methods. I do have a few who like to buy and roast and grind their own coffee beans, and one who has some coffee plant seedlings that she's growing. It can be a very involved hobby! 3. If you eventually find yourself nauseous after drinking coffee, there are low-acidic versions on the market, and I found that helped me. 4. Instant coffee is fun to use as watercolor for art, and useful in a pinch for all-nighters, but beyond that, consume at your own risk. 5. Adding cardamom apparently reduces or negates the caffeine's effect if you want some coffee before bed. 6. Adding a dash of salt negates the bitterness - I've tried this one. It's ...weird? Maybe I added too much salt 😂 Have fun on this new venture!

  12. My understanding is that this individual has supposedly been pestering another user that he is has a deep obsession with and that this has gone on for circa a month now. I don't have screenshots of the conversations that were supposedly had but given the things I know from people of other lego adjacent online communities I would personally believe the accusations to be true. This person seems to be displaying symptoms of both Autism and OCD. It is very clear that he is undergoing anxiety as he is now trying to delete threads as well as re-apologise to the person making the accusations. There is a very high chance that this will not be the end of this person's activities on this website. I'm not sure if I have any solutions for this individual other than to try and seek treatment for OCD as I believe that is what keeps driving them back to this website and other bionicle fan communities.

  13. This is amazingly cool! As others have said, logical, comprehensive, and practical. I definitely remember trying to learn this as a kid, and putting a little circle around each letter was so tedious! I like how your system makes the circles essential based on the position of certain markings within the circle. In my head, it also seems like a writing system very compatible with how I very vaguely imagine biomechanical beings to process written language - I'm thinking like how you fill in the A B C D bubbles on standardized tests to be scanned quickly by a machine. Great work!

  14. Very cool, but half the fun of "official" Matoric is that it is a very thinly veiled cypher where most of the characters look like the letters they represent, making it very easy to read.

  16. I enjoy reading, writing, studying world history, and chess. I have always wanted to make video essays but I just do not have the discipline. I settle for making poorly-edited TikToks. I enjoy nostalgic cartoons. The one I have most recently gotten back into is Code Lyoko.

  20. Right and wrong according to a community's rules and guidelines is one thing. Sure, you can go back and forth about what you did or didn't do in regards to those rules. But right and wrong are completely different when it comes to interpersonal interactions and personal boundaries. I understand that those sets of interpersonal rules may seem arbitrary, subjective, and changeable, but that doesn't make them optional. And as it seems you've found out, you've discovered just how non-optional those are. As a predictive warning, I also suspect that if you keep dragging this conflict out and trying to drag more people into it, you soon won't be welcome in this community either. Tread more carefully moving forward.

  21. As someone who knows nothing of this situation except what you've posted on this site, it's hard to take you at your word when you seem unable to keep your story straight. A month ago you posted a thread apologising to this Vahkiti person for the alleged stalking, saying it was an unintentional mistake and you misunderstood the rules. Now you're saying Vahkiti and the rest of the community turned on you for no reason and you're being subjected to baseless discrimination. In both accounts, you're trying to portray yourself as the victim, but the two versions of events simply don't line up.

  22. I have no idea what this whole thing is about, but I think it would be a good idea to leave these people alone. Don't try to make amends or anything, because apparently they don't want to talk to you. I'm not trying to be harsh, that just seems to be how it is.

  25. Yeah, sorry to say this but you're kind of barking up the wrong tree. The bionicle community mostly consists of people who were kids during its' original run between 2001-2011 (counting the extra story arcs). Most of us bond over that shared memory of the old days of bionicle back when it was on store shelves. Most people here will be coming from the perspective of a nostalgic rather than someone who has gained an interest long after the fact. You're more than free to continue reading up on this stuff and indulging in a love of an old franchise (I know I used to do that) but I would really suggest looking elsewhere for a sense of belonging.

  26. I'm not entirely sure what happened but from the looks of it you seem like a troubled individual attempting to use old internet communities to alleviate a sense of loneliness. I may be overstepping the bounds a bit by even commenting on this but you mentioned being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and having been accused of stalking. I'm not going to comment on that but I get the impression you have issues related to socialising. It's nothing to be ashamed of, in fact it's more an indictment of the society surrounding you that you don't have people in the real world to speak to. I would also like to enquire into your relationship with the bionicle franchise. Were you a fan of it during the time of G1 or have you picked up an interest later on? Either way I wouldn't recommend spending huge amounts of your time on this fanbase as virtually all of us are young adults now with different interests and responsibilities.

  27. Clicked thinking this was an apology to a Bionicle character for not liking them as a child or something, given discussion location but this has been far more interesting, sadly…

  28. Hard to say. I think a lot of Vakama's visions don't necessarily make sense to him until after the fact. I am fairly certain that the Turaga and Makuta both believed that Takua was the Herald, subverting Jaller's feeling that they erroneously thought it was him and he was being dragged on an adventure for nothing. However, in a double subversion, Jaller really was the Herald, and Takua was the Seventh Toa he was heralding.

  29. It's very hard to have a consistent discussion when you keep shifting the goalposts like this. You've asked people for their opinions, and instead of actually responding to people's comments you keep offering up these hypothetical situations to force the outcome you want and ask if that would change people's feelings on the topic. At this point I can't help but feel that you're unable or unwilling to take no for an answer (especially since I saw you post the exact same question to Reddit a few days ago and delete it after only four comments when no one would take your side wholesale). There's a vast gulf of difference between Endgame and what you're talking about. As emotionally-devastating as the ending of Infinity War was for some viewers, we as audiences knew the deaths weren't going to stick. It was obvious to anyone with a modicum of genre-savvyness that Thanos' victory would be undone somehow in the follow-up film. There was never a question over if all of those characters would come back, only how the surviving Avengers would manage to do it. The return of those characters was a baked-in expectation of the story, due to the nature of their deaths and the natural course of the narrative. That's simply not the case with Matoro. The whole point of a sacrifice is to give something up. Matoro's death was meant to be a moment of selflessness and acceptance to show the cost of heroism. The fact that he still didn't believe he was a hero even in his final moment is meant to feel tragic and unfair. His loss was meant to hurt. It was meant to leave a hole in his team. It was meant to leave a mark in our memories as readers. Bringing him back for no reason would take all of that away. That's not to say resurrecting Matoro couldn't work, somehow, but I personally can't think of a way to execute that without cheapening or ruining his past story.
