  1. My life has ended. I got 99/100 on my Year 8 Maths Exam because I thought a division sign was an addition sign. My life is over. I will never get over 98 in my VCE. I will never get into Melbourne Uni. I will never obtain a degree. My life has ended!

      Is there any other way? Any extra credit, re-do, other test? Anything?

      Sounds ridiculous to me as well. Even the pros make a slight mistake now and then, and simple pattern recognition would be able to tell that you know what addition and division is already. Ask someone about it and explain the situation, if it really is as serious as you say.

       

      Errors like this might be why I started to see the computer form of signs on some tests I had here in Norway. That is, + - * / (or :) instead of the older + - × ÷
