  1. Honestly I bought my watch at Wal-Mart for like $10. I don't see what is so special about a luxury watch - as long as my watch works, I don't care about how fancy it is. Whereas Lego makes unique, original stuff I can't buy anywhere else. It's not like there are 10 identical Ninjagos in 15 different price ranges. But my personal regard =/= the regard of the world, I suppose.
  2. GM IC THE KESTRAL The Kestral was rapidly facing the decision of going into the creepy portal or losing track of Focus entirely.
  3. 24 HOURS HAVE ELAPSED... "Okay team," said Pahrak. "We're going to forge the mask of Creation. That will beat back our enemies for sure." FF, who had recently taken on a dark persuasion, agreed. The two forged masks of Adaptation and Biomechanics. Pulse joined them in trying to make a Mask of Conjuring, but he was distracted by loud playing from the SaxaRahkshi and inadvertently shattered it to bits. Meanwhile, Tekulo and the IceSaxaRahkshi built Masks of Iron and Water and Ice, going out to attack, only to be met with failure as Pahrak and Pulse managed to flee the scene in time to escape in Pahrak's Cahdok cruiser. Shadow FF lashed out at the Rahkshi by controlling his saxophone to play some off key notes, but he just tapped his foot to the beat and stared absentmindedly. Pahrak turned the cruiser around and tried to run it into Nato, but the leader of the team opposing Makuta would not turn to violence: "I will not be dragged into this petty war." Instead, he tried to make a Mask of Strength, but with all of the blabbing from the Rahkshi who was talking about masks of Ultimate power he gave up and stalked off to go vent his frustration. Somewhere else, Ghidora was engaged in a staring contest with Twilight Vezon. He found every detail of the Skakdi immensely fascinating...so much so that he ignored all of Nato's magic tricks. Finally, he got bored and went to go make a Mask of Biomechanics, but since he didn't know what that even was, the mask didn't work at all. Meanwhile, Makuta Luroka forged a Mask of Iron and plotted his next move... TO BE CONTINUED... Team Generation #1 1. Ghidora - Round 2 Part 1 - has nothing to attack with, so back to the forges. 2. 4. GM NPC STORMER "It might be complicated transferring him to a cell on a prison asteroid, but I think it is a manageable job. All you need are a few more insults."
  5. OOC: I agree with this. Mostly because the "petty criminals lockup" thing makes for an excessively boring RPG. The concept for a Hero Factory RPG was originally employed by Observance back on the old forum in 2011, and that concept was a sandbox, wander-around-Makuhero-city-and fight-the-odd-criminal-thing...it just devolved into spam. My feeling is that to have a credible story, you need a villain, and for an RPG, you need several, because the appeal of an HF RPG is playing as the heroes. Although that has its own pitfalls, as we've seen. As for pragmatism, that may be my own individual writing style breaking through...it tends to have a pragmatic flavor. GM NPC MR. MAKURO/NEX The Astral took off, heading for Mechna. Kaiba Blader would find that his vessel had docked before the larger ship moved, although both might feel pressure changes from the ship's movement. GM NPC MED BOTS The medbots bustled about, working on Jet, Surge, and Night Stalker. GM NPC VON NEBULA The ghost chuckled. "This cell cannot contain me, and you know it, Stormer." GM NPC STORMER "But this can," said Stormer with a grin. He walked over to the cell control lever and hit a number of switches. The lasers on the edges of the cell turned inward, and more emitted from the back, forming a hexagonal pattern around the ghost. Then he made a couple of adjustments to the forcefield to the bottom and the top, forcing the ghost to float in the middle or get shredded. "I designed these cells myself, old friend. You can come out when you decide to behave." GM IC ??? (MAKUHERO CITY) Around the lone villain, the fleet dispersed rapidly. These ships didn't want to stay around - that would make them an easy target. Instead, they disappeared off to the far reaches of the galaxy, leaving him alone. He couldn't blame them for not wanting to go to his next destination. Indeed, his decision to swing by Makuhero city on the way home might be a risky one, he reflected as he saw the Astral blast away. But he wasn't here to attack as he saw the wreck of the Factory below, merely to reflect. For one thing, he had not seen this city for a very long time. It had grown up since he had left it. But what drew his attention was the smoking hole in the skyline. Hero Factory. He had sought to control it from within. Now it was gone, burned to ashes like so many broken dreams. About to be removed as a force for all time, or incorporated into his grand design. He wasn't sure which eventuality he liked worse. But he suspected that, like last time, they would be too stubborn, too rigid, too thoughtless. Unable to even understand the dreams of one of their own. But if they didn't this time, they would pay. GM IC THE BRAIN MASTER Back onboard the ship, the two of them sat watching media footage. The brain master was taking notes with a fountain pen. The beast was eating popcorn. "Mark my words," the brain master said. "We shall return to home base and make a new invention, you and I. Then we will return to put the lousy Heroes and the conspiracy of nonsense to rest." The beast nodded. The brain master realized he was talking to himself again.
  6. OOC: Merrick Fortis isn't in the Astral right now...he's off dealing with Striker, Amayika, Vex, and Rocka somewhere on the island.
  7. OOC: Black ops would have to be under Recon Team, because Recon Team covers all of the secret spy work. To be clear, Rocka is not a black ops hero - he has too much of a public persona for that. Neither is Fortis, technically, though he oversees that entire division. The reason that those two are dealing with this is to avoid violence between the two of them and their civilian charge, since there isn't any one else available. Unfortunately, Fortis is operating under black ops and Recon Team procedure instead of the larger Hero Factory one. ----------------------------------------------- The black ops thing was actually Lynn's/Scorp's invention back when he built Striker that Nato decided to roll with in making Vex, to my knowledge. I just let it happen because it's a RPG; I didn't see why there couldn't be one. Same with Kaiba Blader's backstory and the strange space station restaurant - it's just Scorp's odd RP'ing style, I suppose. I may have to clamp down on it eventually, but the problem is I don't see the problem with any of that right now. And he's not the only one who did that - Toa Onaku's "shady bar", Skull Shredder's library raids, etc. Frankly I already micro-manage this RPG to a certain level anyway, but you've got to give your players some wiggle room or you just go insane and everyone hates you because you control everything.
  8. >villain >totally a villain -------------------------------------- (no seriously, he wasn't one, but all good villains share at least some qualities with old James T.)
  9. GM NPC ROCKA "To be honest, I think Fortis wants to use you for his own purposes," said Rocka. "You're a dead ringer for Makuro, so Fortis wants to use you to divert assassination attempts from the real guy." GM NPC FORTIS Fortis raised an eyebrow. "This is the black ops division of Hero Factory, son. We don't mess around with all that puny civilian moralistic . If you keep playing a victim, you've got yourself a job, and you might not like it." He left it purposefully ambiguous as to whether he was referring to Amayika or Rocka. In truth, he was referring to both.

    Ingress

Sounds like fun, if a bit overly simplistic. They need more factions.
  11. The Lego Bionicle Movie, obviously.
  12. Really, the idea that I would sell my heart for anything is absurd.
  13. GM NPC ROCKA "Not exactly." He looked between Vex and Fortis, leading Amayika away "Look, I'm sorry you got into this - but those two don't have your best interests at heart, and one of them is my boss. I'll do what I can, but I can't guarantee your freedom."
  14. These names... "Enemy of other RPG characters" So I'm an RPG character? ( :e_e) Proof. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- END OF ROUND 0 The two mask makers clashed in a...somewhat pathetic Mask Maker battle. Except these were the mask makers of all Okoto and all time, so this was more than just a showdown of swinging hammers and shots fired...although it was a battle of swinging hammers and shots fired. Makuta's Mask of Control glowed as legions of Skull Spiders swarmed to his aid...only to be beaten by the valiant Toa that stood behind Ekimu. Elemental Creatures were summoned to aid the evil Mask Maker...only for the creations of Ekimu to beat them down. It seems, thought Makuta, that we are too evenly matched. It is time to summon the villains all over Okoto to my aid. * * * Meanwhile, Ghidora, immortal crazytoran, was just sitting down at his table for lunch. It was a brand new house that still smelled of fresh paint - his house had been destroyed in his first quest to get the Mask of Ultimate Power, and between getting set back in time and going creature hunting, he hadn't exactly remembered to pay his rent. So when the ghostly form of Makuta Teridax appeared in front of him, his first thoughts were of candles and cupcakes, of course. "My impostor Mask Maker brother thinks he can stand up to the wiles of Ekimu. But you know the truth. Join me and we will put an end to that sleazy Mask Maker that everyone knows is the real bad guy once and for all!" "Do I get lollipops?" said Ghidora. "You will get anything you want. Join me." * * * "...end to that sleazy Mask Maker once and for all." said Pahrak. "Sounds like a good idea. I'm in." * * * "But that doesn't make any sense," said Nato. "We're all on the same side - we don't need any dimensional meddling from you. If we all work together, we can win the battle without enlisting the help of the other Makuta. He's a sociopathic liar and a two-faced traitor!" Makuta Luroka walked up to Nato and silently nodded agreement. He had suffered enough under the reign of Teridax. TwilightVezon also walked up behind those two without saying anything. "I'm not comfortable with him," said Tekulo. "Usually he puts people like me into stasis tubes." "I don't care," said Pulse. "I want revenge on all of you for my defeat last time." Nato sighed as the two groups lined up against each other and started unlimbering weapons. "Are we going to fight over this, too?" "We better make it quick." said Pahrak. "We don't have much time." "Time?" said Shadow FF. "Time for what?" "Time to get the old Makuta on our side so we can kick Ekimu's butt," said Pahrak. "Let's move. First one to the Mask of Creation gets it." The ice SaxaRahkshi showed up then, looking confused. He nervously edged toward Luroka and TwilightVezon, thinking them the smarter ones out of the group. BEGIN ROUND 1 PART 1 Team PMs will be sent out in 10-20 seconds. 15. OOC: Alright, I'm giving Onaku and FallenCor the old 24 to get your characters on/off the ship. I'm likely not the only one that's tired of the holdup. C'mon, guys.
  16. Lol, when my neighbors are Angonce and Velika, then I will believe. XD. Yes, we are not in the story, but alas...we did write the thing.
  17. Battle, Millennium, physical. I think my supercharge will work.
  18. I supported this project and I'm not sorry.
  19. OOC: Alright, here's what I'm thinking - Von Nebula can possess (occupy/control) a robotic form, thus putting himself inside that form of matter and controlling it. But if he does that, obviously damage to the robotic form that gets past the outside shell would commute to him (for example, if the form exploded or vaporized, the ghost would at least take damage. This is likely why cowardly Von hasn't taken one, of course - it takes away all of the advantages of his ghost form and makes him a target.) Therefore, if that form were frozen through, Von would be frozen inside the form, which would reduce the ghost's energy and make it harder/slower for him to escape. (To make him a fair character, he can't just disassociate to avoid getting hit.) Therefore, Von is inside the ice (he's not controlling the ice, but is still inside the ice) and thus frozen. Otherwise I'd have to say that Von isn't affected by the damage to his forms, which would be OP and thus illegal. OOC: Also, FTR, this statement is correct about the ice shards, however.

    never enough

Is that disc in English? The Exclusivite on the sticker raises some eyebrows. Also, I don't have Blu-Ray - I'm waiting for the thing to come out on iTunes or Amazon in an affordable price range. $20 is not affordable. Gah.
  21. OOC: Probably (if it's close to the portal) but the reception would suck.
