  1. Ooh! I know! Pick me! Also, that image is wonderful; it's like Dexter Douglas getting sucked into the Internet.
  2. It's pretty much a known fact that physicists are awesome. Also, sounds fun. Glad you're enjoying it there.
  3. "The proportionality factor σ (not to be confused with surface charge) is an empirical constant that varies from one material to another; it's called the conductivity of the medium. Actually, the handbooks usually list the reciprocal of σ, called the resistivity: ρ = 1/σ (not to be confused with charge density—I'm sorry, but we're running out of Greek letters, and this is the standard notation)." This is the man who allegedly can teach physics to gerbils. I wish I could take a class with him simply for his wit and skillz at teaching.

    IT'S SNOWING!

Tekky (not to be confused with a techie): I SAW NO SUCH MIRU! YOU LIES TO ME! Calvirick: Your Google search has served you well in informing you that snow does not fall in Texas, but the parts about how it magically sparkles and is extremely fun sled in/jump in/make forts out of was completely missed. You should have a stern talking with Google about how this particular search failed in those regards. Also, said snow decided it was lonely and brought some rain with it. THAT IS NOT HOW SNOW WORKS!

    IT'S SNOWING!

It's almost like I'm back in Ohio. Except in Ohio it snowed in late October. Eh, close enough.

    Civic Duties

I can't help but read "Civic Duties" without thinking of the scene in Pirates of the Caribbean where the blacksmith smashes Jack Sparrow on the head with his bottle of adult beverage and tells Norrington, "Just doing my civic duty, sir!" I just thought you'd like to know.

    Voting and such

You people are all slow; I voted weeks ago (absentee FTW!). Thanks to all who voted, whether it was Democrat, Republican, or Bull Moose. Statisticians really appreciate having a good sample size for such things. (But seriously, voting is important. Exercise those rights!)
  8. [insane amounts of lols from the peanut gallery]
  9. Best facial expression while voting ever.
  10. >> << Normal - Togekiss Fighting - Lucario Water - Milotic Grass - Breloom Fire - Chandelure/Volcarona Electric - Rotom Poison - Haunter Ghost - Shedinja Psychic - Lugia Bug - Galvantula Flying - Zapdos Dragon - Zekrom Rock - Tyranitar Ground - Steelix Ice - Lapras Steel - Magnezone Dark - Zoroark Gen I: 3 Gen II: 3 Gen III: 3 Gen IV: 4 Gen V: 4/5 (if you count both Chandelure and Volcarona) I couldn't decide between Chandelure and Volcarona, because they be beastly. I almost put Giratina with Zekrom, but Zekrom has the electric factor going for him, which, if you couldn't tell, I like. Also, my favorites are very spread among gens. Akano does not play favorites with his generations of Pokémon. (Gen II all the way! )

    How many molecules...

A fun application of these types of problems is that you can show that there are far more molecules of air than lungfuls of air, which means that the air you breathe right now is extremely likely to be comprised of atoms that were once breathed by/part of any famous person in history from 80+ years ago.
  14. While I technically beat the Elite Four on Tuesday, I thought I'd share my team here. Anubis (Lucario) Tornadus-T Vanessa (Emboar) Zoroark Tesla (Magnezone) Golduck - HM slave I couldn't nickname Zoroark due to it being N's originally, and Tornadus I just never got around to nicknaming after I got him from Dream Radar. This was actually the first time I've ever raised any of these Pokémon for a team, so it was a very different game experience this time around. I wish Lucario were just a bit bulkier, because he can dole out punishment but can't really take it. I love Zoroark's speed, but man is he frail. Emboar was all right, but I definitely prefer Samurott. Magnezone was pretty awesome, too; his Special Attack is beastly. I should raise a Chandelure when I replay through White. He looks pretty awesome...
  15. CABOOSE REFERENCE EFF TEE DUBYA!

  20. They are both really good sets; it's a tough call. I think, if I had to choose, I'd go with the Haunted House (pick up both if you can, though ). Or a mansion inside of a witch's lair conspicuously close to the house of a bear and bird. Seriously?! How did I miss that reference? And I definitely read this in Homestarrunner's voice (I think it's the Halloween 'toons getting to my head)."And evewybody knows how much the Homestaw Wunnew loves wadin' thwough puddin'!" Oh, yeah, I totally forgot to mention the stickers! Some of the windows also have stickers with cobwebs on them as well. The hanging portraits are also stickers, but the wood planks on the windows are printed pieces. And, yes, you will see it in all its glory. Soon...

    Happy Halloween

(Click for larger image) The one on the left is my roommate's; the one on the right is mine. Happy Halloween, BZPower. (Also, check out my Haunted House review if you haven't already! It's full of awesome haunted house pictures!)
  22. Go read it. Be enthralled. Clean up your drool on the way out.
