  1. The Gold Kraahkan is from a miniture scale Visorak from the Tower of Toa playset in 2005. Interesting, I did'nt know that it switched to Voya gold in 2006. I remember that I was drooling over that gold mask when the set came out, but I never got around to buying one. Anyway, enjoy your new kanohi!
  2. Hero has always been my favorite Bionicle promo song almost soley because of that nostalgic music video from 2005.I remember getting on the Metru-Nui era Bionicle.com, watching all the storyline animations and looking at all the sets, anxious to go to Target to buy as many as my allowance would permit. Just tracked that old music video down online a few weeks ago too, brought back good times...
  3. I don't know. Did Guy Fawkes do something meaningful on November 3rd? Please enlighten me so that I may better observe this overlooked holiday.
  4. A Rowan Atkinson Christmas Carol!? "Immediatly gets on netflix."Interesting, I have been wondering what else he's done besides Mr. Bean and Johnny English. I'll have to keep an eye out for some of the stuff you've mentioned. On the subject of British comedy, most of Monty Python, with the exception of Holy Grail, is pretty underrated and forgotten. Life of Brian would've gotten a little more recognition if they hadn't thrown in all that totally unneccisary dirty "humor" that killed it. Meaning of Life.... uh.....no comment. Don't see it if you want to keep your eyes (and ears) from catching on fire. But all their TV episodes are priceless, and again, underrated beyond the Spanish Inquisition and the parrot sketch.
  5. The most overrated movie I can think of is "The Shining". Even though it is widely regarded as a classic, It could have been quite a bit better if it stuck more closely to the book. Also, whoever casted the movie made some weird choices: Jack Nickolson was the most (and just about the only) truly belivable and frightening preformance, Shelly Duvall seems to be trapped within Olive Oyle's emotional spectrum, and Danny Lloyd was simply too young to act in the movie properly. Can't really think of a truly underrated movie though. More often then not if people (not professional critics) think that a movie is bad, it probably is. I'll try and think of a good one.
  6. Prehaps if it returns, instead of being HF based the sets could be done by the technic design team. Since Bionicle really only seems to cater to nostalgia (in terms of the traditional building system) it would make sense to market it more exclusively toward those who grew up with it, rather then making it a sister line to HF. The result of this strategy would be fewer sets, but bigger and more complex, similar to Star Wars' UCS line. Storywise, however, Bionicle should best countine with the system of having serials updated every so often. Thus, TLG doesn't have to spend a fortune on story writing, and it fits with most older fans' busy lives.
  7. It was a tie between WoS and LoMN, but since I liked 2004 better, and has more of a nostalgia factor and good plotline, I voted LoMN. First year I seriously got into Bionicle.
  8. 1. General Jack D. Ripper (precious...bodily...fluids...)2. Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpitine (soon the rebellion will be crushed and young Skywalker will be one of us)3. Mr. Potter (Bail out the Building and Loan?! Ha! Go jump off a bridge on Christmas Eve for all I care!)4. Jaws (from James Bond)5. Edward Rooney (OPEN THE DOOR FERRIS!!!) My Abridged list.
  9. Although Apoca-Lego is pretty cool, don't you think that Black Ops and COD have already corrupted our young children enough? http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/tounge2.gif
  10. I've beat all the teams up to Le-Koro so far, but for some mysterious reason I have been caught in some sort of time warp in Ga-Koro where all the graphics and dialog have reverted back to the start of the game, and it did this without me asking Nixie to reset! So unless I can figure out how to either break out of Ga-Koro or escape this time warp, my progress is at a standstill. Although my pack is still intact with all my widgets and materials, I hope that my stats have'nt been reset. I am NOT looking forward to lifting that darn rock with Tapiu again (tired fingers!)
  11. Voted both. Although I like Toa Mata a little better, Olda still has a nice ring to it.
  12. I don't really like rap much. There are a few that are either really funny or really catchy that I kinda like, but It's just not my thing. 50's, 60's, and 70's (rather debatable,) now that's some incredible music! All those delicious vocal harmonies are nothing like music today, yet they were ultimately insturmental in bringing it about. Oddly enough, I think that the Beatles are seriously overated. Granted, they were talented, but they really only had about 20 or so good songs that everyone knows about. I can think of plenty of other groups and solo singers of the same era whose equally great musical abilities were lost beneath all the Beatlehype. Bobby Vee, The Echoes, The Castells, The Happenings, and even Lou "Latter-Day-Beiber-Falsetto" Christie are virtually forgotten by most people today despite being arguably on par with The Beatles in terms of musical ability. There are tons of hidden gems from the era if you look closely enough! Ok, I've had my rant http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/tounge2.gif Apart from Oldies, I also like some Jazz (modern and some Big Band, Artie Shaw especially) and some pop and modern soft rock.
  13. You've got something there! Hyandai, along with the other Korean automakers (I think there's just one other actually,) has taken huge leaps in terms of build quality and style. Seriously, who would have thought those lines could work so well on such a compact car! The only other cars that can master such sleek beauty are the latter day Caddys.
  14. A tough choice between books and comics, as I love them both, but I had to go with books.
  15. I've known about BZP for years, but I was never really moved to join until I realized how much I liked it while the fourms were down. I think I learned about it sometime in 2004 at some cub scout meeting; a random guy and I were talking about bionicle and he recomended BZPower. Unfortunautly, because the room was really loud, I missheard him to say "PZpower" or something like that. Natrually, the search turned up nothing. At some point though, I did figure it out and I've been visiting this site on and off ever since.
  16. Lucky! When I start driving next year, I'll probably still be stuck with my 2000 Ford Focus.
  17. Hmmm...this is very interesting indeed. I had to dig out my own krakkaan for reference to really see what you meant, but I noticed that there seems to be a shiny rectangle bit on my mask in the place where your odd fifth vent is. Prehaps the when the molding machine was pressing the vents, it somehow pushed in too hard? Or maybe this was a test copy for an earlier design that was to incorperate six lower vents?
  18. I don't know... It's just not quite satisfying to end the story with Teridax killing or enslaving all the Toa and Matoran and eventually taking over the universe.
  19. Even if they're just "badge engineered" Hero Factory sets by then, I might be inclined to dish out a few bucks for old times sake. Maybe take a look at the site to see what the story team managed to come up with.
  20. If Lego had pulled the strings right back when Bionicle was at the height of it's popularity and had the most marketing potential, a Bionicle movie in theaters could prehaps have been possible. The problem is, it costs big money to sell a movie to theaters, and if Lego wasn't totally sure they'd get a big return to go with it, they'd go for the far cheaper and less risky alternative: direct to DVD. Now if Bionicle had been publicized to the hilt, with pictures of Tahu epicly lava surfing apperaring on the sides of buses, Nokama hocking Swiffers and the like, Bionicle would have been in the public spotlight far more. In this situation, Lego could have concevibly sold Bionicle movies to theaters (the rather unfortunaute side effect would be that a number of years and movies later, Bionicle would probably become a sort of undead franchise such as what Star Wars has become, bringing Lego endless amounts of cash but in the process damaging what Bionicle is known and loved for today.) Nowadays, even though an offical Bionicle film is off the table, I'm totally behind all the fan movies I've been hearing about here. However, since Lego still holds the rights, one would have to somehow navigate the corprate bureaucracy to put a fan movie in theaters, but who knows?
  21. I thought for a while about this, but I'm afraid I had to go with no. The chances of Lego successfully pulling off an official Bionicle revivle that would be true to the original is, sadly, very low, for reasons that have already been stated way too many times. What I would like however is the reissue of classic Bionicle sets, similar to the classic minifigure collection. And if they do, they should be as close as possible to the originals in both construction and molded parts, not a 2002 Thunderbird-esque "modern interpretation" of the old sets. You should'nt try to fix something that isn't broken.
  22. These are most certainly leaps and bounds over the old Dino Attack theme in many ways: mainly, Lego has wisely dropped the old rubber mini dinos, which were somewhat cool and organic looking at the outset, but then my cats kept trying to chew on them. Also, there are no unnessisary electric embellishments to get in the way and jack up the price. Plus, yellow is an unusual primary color for a theme, and goes nicely with the stone grey. I don't often go out of my way to buy sets anymore, but I may have to pick up a few of these when they come out. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
  23. A few nights ago, The Manchurian Candidate and Christine. Rather odd double feature.
  24. Most of my bionicle sets are displayed on a shelf above my desk, and I've often had a certain white vahki fall on my head while I'm working. I blame poltergeists.
  25. It was a pretty good movie, but I can't say it's listed among my favorites. Mainly, that kid really annoyed me throught the whole movie. Otherwise, the robot fight scenes had some great effects and definitly deserve some credit.
