  1. that's true; thus 'semi-canon'. although i'm definitely of the group who accept it as full canon, heh. I'm pretty sure being part of that group is a requirement for joining BZP.
  2. Nice to see a fellow appreciator of Star Trek and 60's pop culture! And Doctor Who, to boot. You have good taste.
  3. Oddly, MNOG has gotten "more canon" as the years have gone by. GregF's initial position was that it wasn't canon, but he seemed to accept more and more things from it as time went on, like Pewku being a taxi crab and the mental link between Takua and Gali. I think a lot of people accept the whole thing as canon, whether it officially is or not.
  4. Funnily enough, Kopaka was also the only one to have different left/right arms when he upgraded to Nuva (Lewa and Tahu changed to have identical arms.) So yeah, asymmetry is a big part of his aesthetic. That's a really good point. I wish they'd kept the asymmetrical arms in his Phantoka set. (Not to mention his signature sword(s) and shield, but that's another subject). It seems as if a lot of people are naming masks from 01? I wonder if it's nostalgia, or if the masks were just really well designed that year. Probably a bit of both.
  5. I don't know if such a list exists. Here are some quick guidelines: -Books are canon, except for the ones by C.A. Hapka (the first three Chronicles books), which are semi-canon. Tales of the Toa in particular features many discrepancies with the canon, such as the treatment of the Shadow Toa, as well as most of the battle at the end. -Comics are canon. -Movies are mostly canon (the events happened mostly as portrayed, with a few exceptions such as any reference to romance or the population of Metru Nui being way too big). -Most games aren't canon. The exceptions are the MNOLGs (which seem to be mostly canon) and Quest for the Toa (the 2001 GBA game, which is at least semi-canon). I believe the Maze of Shadows game is also semi-canon, since it's based on the book. -Web serials/podcasts are canon. -Here are the canon fan-written stories: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/The_Dweller_Report_by_SPIRIT http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/Decadence_by_Dorek http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/No_One_Gets_Left_Behind_by_Shadow-Nui http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/Protection_by_InnerRayg http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/Tentacles_by_Turakii_%28Number%29_1_Lavasurfer http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Saga_Guides/Hope_by_Lady_Kopaka Hope this helps!
  6. I love the 01 Akaku. The asymmetry sets it apart from most other masks, and in doing so kind of suggests that Kopaka is a bit of an outsider.
  7. A few ideas came to mind: An underwater breathing apparatus, à la Thunderball (or The Phantom Menace). To keep things balanced, it couldn't let you stay under as long as an actual Kaukau, but even a few minutes worth of air could be handy. Similarly, some kind of filter to allow the wearer to breathe toxic air. Something to improve hearing abilities, or to dampen loud noises (or both). Edit: Partially ninja'd. I guess great minds think alike.
  8. I seem to remember them saying on the commentary track that they decided not to show Matoran faces because they wanted to keep them mysterious. Of course, since you can see the faces on the sets, I'm not sure what the point was. Maybe it somehow had something to do with keeping Mata Nui's true nature a secret? I dunno, kind of a stretch.
  9. A Morrowind theme could be neat. Lots of weird plants/architecture that would be challenging to design, but would look amazing if done properly.
  10. Very cool. I definitely liked that sounded pretty natural, kinda like an analog recording. I don't usually care for the totally synthetic sound in a lot of modern electronic music.
  11. Exist to distract us from the Illuminati. Apple watches.
  12. 3.75/5; It's melodic, upbeat, and I have a soft spot for it b/c of Bionicle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS-gwb8eSc0
  13. "[Everything is] Awesome!" I can't believe no one made this joke yet.
  14. C-C-C-Combo breaker! 2/5; I hadn't seen you before today, but I've seen you a lot today.
  15. Were added to cell phones so that the NSA et al. can more effectively spy on the world. Legends of Mata Nui (the cancelled game).
  16. Despite my avatar, username, etc. my all time favorite is the original Star Trek series.
  17. I prefer building by hand, but for creating large things, I actually prefer Minecraft over LDD. Obviously it's not quite the same, and it doesn't have as many specialized pieces, but I find it much easier to use. Plus you can walk around inside any buildings you make!
  18. Since the movies have some elements that are confirmed not to be canon, perhaps in-canon he took his Pakari off first?
  19. 4/5; really fun and catchy. I should watch Smallville one of these days... And now for something completely different!
  20. Reign of Fire. A soft sci-fi B-movie where dragons take over the world, starring Batman. What could be better?
  21. Galidor. It seemed to have a cool premise from what I remember. WYR be forced to listen to "Friday" by Rebecca Black or "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley?
  22. 3/5; I've seen you a few places.
  23. 4.5/5; that was really good. Porcupine Tree is a band I need to listen to more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ0YIfW2BUI
