  1. Are you seriously just going around every HF topic downplaying the line and talk trash about it? Of course not. I mean, credit where credit is due. Hero Factory did allow for a time period which allowed Lego to innovate the CCBF system. The titans, at least, had interesting builds sometimes. Again, credit where credit is due. HF allowed for the invention of a powerful building system, even if the actual aesthetics of the sets were not to my liking. I'd be lying if I said I was able to get into the storyline. Which is why I would change almost everything about it. Especially with the core theme of what it means to be a hero.
  2. Storyline wise, I would reveal the Hero Factory universe for what it really was. A dystopian world where the general populace is kept is brainwashed into a state of decadence by the monotonous robotic overlords. When all seems lost, a mysterious gold and white hero wielding the powers of light arrives and saves the dying world.
  3. The amount of time it took before they had a system worthy for the glory that is the Bionicle franchise.
  4. A for effort. Let the real heroes take over now. "New Lego Hero Factory uses only the best armours, helmets, weapons, and mighty hero cores to build the toughest heroes...Hero factory. Where heroes are made" - Hero Factory. "You may look like a hero. You may feel like a hero. You may be one...You may be many. You may have new masks, new armour, new equipment...But it's not what you got its what you do with it that makes you a hero" - Bionicle.
  5. IMO HF existed as a 4 year testing ground for the new system for bionicle 2015. It is inevitable that it will be overtaken by bionicle. Lets face it... it would either rip off bionicle in set design...or get completely overtaken. Just look at the 2015 sets. Multi function weapons. Clip on masks with ejection features. GEAR SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS FOR FULL ARTICULATION. Protectors alone easily as innovative as any hero. This isn't even accounting for the characters. Tahu vs Furno. Which character is more of a must-have? Nuff said.
  6. They don't need pins. They can clip onto most parts with Technic axle holes spaced two modules apart—Glatorian fists, Hero Factory fists, Y-joints, Hero Factory feet, Hero Factory Brain Attack heads, and many other parts. They WOULD clip on to the Glatorian heads as well, if not for the "bolts" attaching the Glatorian head's "jaw". Those stick out too far and collide with the new masks, keeping them from attaching properly. So no, they don't attach to Glatorian heads. EDIT: Actually, upon testing with one of my own masks and Glatorian heads, they CAN attach to Glatorian heads—but only with the face facing the top, not with the face facing the front. And attached like that they're very loose for some reason, and won't stay oriented in one position, unlike with the other parts I listed which typically have enough friction to hold it in place moderately well. Im not actually very familiar with the HF system. I'll take your word on this.
  7. I don't want to order a happy meal at McDonalds for a set though. XD
  8. Toa Mata. Just make mata the name for spirits again. Keep the roots, and throw us old fans a bone. Either that, or just "Tahu and his minions". I'd be fine with that.
  9. Nope. These new masks don't have pins. They clip on.
  10. Thankyou for linking that video, how did I miss that when I was browsing on Youtube It looks like such a good set, the new gear system is absolutely brilliant! Lego really took it to the next level with the build they put into the Toa for Bionicle 2015. Everything from the slide on mask, to the full articulation with gear function, to the multi weapon playability. Is it wrong for me to say that I like these sets better than the Nuva, or indeed *gasp* the original mata, as sets? I mean, just look at the masks. They are have elements from the classic (with the exception of Gali's but even then, I think I'll wait till I actually see the 3d version to judge seeing as that's what happened with the Hau), but are modernized and look so slick. I can't help but think that these sets would have been perfect if they were released in 2008. By then, the Inika/Piraka build was getting stale, and this new system would have brought some spice to the sets. I cant help but think that if it wasn't associated with HF, then the negative vibes of this system wouldn't exist at all. Then again, I suppose Hero Factory allowed for Lego to do 4 years of test trials. What we are seeing is the best the system as to offer.
  11. I wasn't aware there were other reviews. Where can I find them? So far I've only seen Tahu's and he is still my favourite by far.
  12. Tahu. He's the face of bionicle as I know it.
  13. The colour scheme is too much. They would have been fine with just Black, Purple, and Gold. No need for the Silver. I don't like the bulky build. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for unique builds (Pridak was my favourite Barraki). So I can appreciate the unique build. Onua's physique is simply not to my tastes. But insofar as a unique build goes...I think the only thing unique is a different chest plate, and placement of pins.
  14. There's a YT video review on Tahu that shows this function very well: I am so excited. On an off-note. I was a bit iffy on the Hau when I first saw the finalized pics, but I must say....once I saw them in 3d, I was sold. This is arguably one of the best reiterations of the Hau that I've seen. This is what I imagine a "Tahu-Hau" in the movies would look like as opposed to a "Lhikan Hau". Very happy.
  15. Tahu. All criticisms of the hau fell apart when I saw the clear images from comic con. I have to admit that seeing the box art alone raised some doubt, but after seeing the hau from different angles, I have to say that I really dig this version. It IS the hau. I look forward to the new face of bionicle. Btw, there's a review of him on youtube. There others are all tied for 2nd. But if I had to pick: Kopaka (classic) Gali (colour design + weapon design) Lewa (weapon design) Pohatu (Only criticisms is his colour scheme) Onua (awkward colour scheme + not a fan of his character + bulky build).
  16. Romance not being a taboo subject would be nice. Reintroduction of old characters would be awesome.
  17. Fire characters were always the most awesome for me. Tahu. Jaller. Lhikan. Vakama. Nuff said.
  18. I'd evolve to a Makuta, cuz that's just how good I am.
  19. I've been playing around with the idea that Teridax may have had enough time prior to being killed to create "Shadow Toa" loyal to him, and that these Toa's destiny would be to revive him if something goes awry. So perhaps not a direct return on Makatua's part, but maybe the villains would be seeking to revive him?
  20. You know, there's this auto-immune deficiency that causes your white blood cells to attack your other cells. Mata Nui's case is kind of like that.
  21. Matoro. Definitely Matoro. Or pretty much everyone but Tahu, Jaller, and Lhikan.
