  1. Yes. I've been thinking about this too. One thing, the Okoto villagers being the evolutionary ancestors of the Great Beings themselves I think works better then Agori. Agori don't wear kanohi, have 1too few fingers. And weren't the GBs responsible for the mechanical augmentation of the Agori? It will probably never be canonised but I think this works way better than the future setting theory. From what I've read the 2015 Toa are not even the same kind of 'Toa' with whome we are familiar, let alone the same individuals. And we know the GBs made a concious decision to replace the prevalence of jungle with air in the MU. So that's one explanation for Lewa's element change. EDIT: @ Sir Jalokim: The Toa Mata were created some time befor Mata Nui was launched so the GBs could easily have had a hand in their design and likely did. They were after all intended a fail safe. Much of the Codrex we saw was designed to house/aid them.
  2. A surprisingly plausible idea. I'm going to agree with Bones in that, Kestora being a stand in is more likely than them being literal Kra-matoran. When you say shadow is the only element not represented by a Matoran tribe, are you forgetting sand and acid or purposely discounting them due to arguable status as elements (IMO acid has just as much rite to be considered an element as shadow or sand but that's another topic In our world, yes but 'elemental' Shadow in Bionicle has clearly been represented as an actual, tangible thing.
  3. Absolutely. The Bohrok were IMO one of the most iconic aspects of early gen1. Of course if the Bohrok, or rather something heavily inspired by the swarms made a appearance, they would certainly not be what we remember. Just as the new Toa are not their 01 counterpart. They would probably end up being called 'swarm of fire'! I fully expect, if lego wanted to do this, each swarm would be structurally unique and maintain their iconic functions (roll and lunge). Right now I don't see how lego would accomplish that with the current lightly Technic'd CCBS. I have every faith that if lego chose to do this, the result would not dissapoint. Remember, in 02 we had no idea what the Bohrok were for but the clues were their all along. Lego has plans beyond what we can see.
  4. I agree But I always thought the trans Miru was an active mask like sparkly Avohkii. Ps. The trans mask was in my dream last night. Tahu got it from PoF before meeting with the other toa for unrecalled reasons.
  5. That's like saying Bugs Bunny Is a Rubbot. Bionicle is the plural term. There is no variance. No representation of the Matoran, or any other language within Bionicle has ever suggested a variant of any term exists for referencing plural. Same goes for any official use as a title. Normally I would say 'to each their own' but NO.
  6. There were also some collectible mini-figures in the background in a few episodes. And don't forget the Clutch Powers reference from The Royal Blacksmiths.
  7. It's probably leftover from a misunderstanding which occurred as a result of a Greg question a few months ago, regarding the 'possibility' of oddly gendered Matoran. Possibility, yes. Confirmation of existence, no
  8. Thing is, if any of these years 'had' received a movie then the story structure would have to be completely restructured to account for the major events being condensed into a 70-80 min animation. That said I vote 2010 because: A. Any of the others would only be telling part of the story ie. if 07 got a film we'd be missing out on a lot of backstory and closure. B. it's the big finaly. "Rock-em Sock-em Universbots" (but better).
  9. I'm personally against the idea, but maybe there something along the lines of inter-dimensional/stellar toa canisters?
  10. I'm an Aussie. Imo, Pohatu sounds like something that comes from a Kane-ra's treads. The effort given in the actors 'Gali' voice is appreciated at least : /
  11. I voted Air. After Nidhiki's betrail, Le-Metru would be left without a patron toa and the team short an element. Unless one of the many reinforcements offered to stay after the toa-hunter war. Given the villages present on Metru Nui I can't see Dume summoning a minor element Toa.
  12. We have trophys shaped like cups but you wouldn't want to drink out of it.
  13. I would suggest reading in release order. The opening and closing chapters of each of the Adventures (Metru Nui) books is set on Mata Nui after MoL. Hapaka wasn't a particularly bad writer, it's just that her work was highly inconsistent with the pre and co-existing cannon media. She was hired by scholastic and was not part of the story team. The only things she seams to have consulted while writing these books were the comics and whatever brief sinopsis she was given for each story year.
  14. I never considered the story overly complex, really. As I see it the books and the comics (supplemented with films in appropriate years) tell the core story fairly straightforward. Anything else is extra for people who have a grasp on what's going on and want to go deeper. The serials weren't ment for people who started in 07, they are there for people who have been following the line for years and are wondering what everyone else is up to while the story of our focus heroes is playing out in the books and comics.
  15. If the Okoto saga is to run for three years as suspected I believe they will need to resease at least one upgraded version to keep from going too long without any major hero sets. This is also encouraging news for those hoping to see more classic style elements integrated into the system next year. As long as there is a decent explanation and use of transformation in story I'm all for it! I had a similar idea a while ago too. The upgrade packs on their own could be built into a sort of shrine or a smaller figure.
  16. This is quite cool. I just built it and it's not as unstable as it looks and uses most of the pieces. Even the krana fits without slipping out or getting squashed. Good find
  17. My personal theory is that Gresh is descended from an unseen or disbanded 'wind tribe'
  18. Definitely no. The there is or reason for the great ruru to have that power. Even just glowing brightly isn't really 'night vision' at all. The Hunan grants invisibility but doesn't mask the bearers effect on the environment (shadows, footsteps, etc.). The Volitak acts more like a 'perseption filter', the bearer is only semi transparent and their effects on the environment are masked.

    Toa Kotu

Nice. I entirely agree about Kotu's wasted potential. The most underrated character IMO. But I've always imagined her with a mouthpiece rather than a lightbox if she was Toa-fied.
  20. The portal created by the golden weapons DID get Garmadon out of the underworld, into another dimension where he could increase his power. The boat was probably just a rental too. Otherwise this is pretty good.
  21. I posted a brief theory way back about this exact thing. My guess is that the elements are baced off an old cultural/religious belief. Also, Gresh's parents were from the wind tribe. It makes more sence for his power than 'Mata-nui associate green with air'. Also, the Agori seemed to be more advanced berore the war so I wouldn't count plasma, gravity, etc. out yet.
  22. I'm fairly sure it was ment to be an 'active' Kanohi Miru. All glowy and stuff like Takanuvas trans-glitter mask.
  23. Wait. Wasnt 'The Titanium Ninja' the season finally? I watched it last Monday on Cartoon Network. A real tearjerker.
  24. Id love to see a macrofig series. Large sculpted creatures/characters like ogres and rock monsters. Especially for superheroes line. Mabey they'll do something like that for the mmo later? Co-pack Hades and Cerberus!
