  1. I'm using two small spotlights. That's weird. It looks to me like the light intensity shifts sometimes. The animation itself is very good, though.
  2. Not bad for a first try. I think you need better lighting, though. You can tell when natural lighting shifts, so you need to have a constant light source.
  3. https://soundcloud.com/theironchicken/the-bard-with-new-flute/s-JKXFB New version of The Bard.
  4. Thank you my good man. Now I remember why I didn't like it. 1. Kind of bland. 2. No tambouras (didn't know the name of the instrument at that time but now I do) or other old Mediterranean/Near-Eastern instruments/sounds (I am really unsure on my phrasing of this). 3. Abrupt ending (it was just a test so that's alright but that's probably why I disliked The Bard so much). I am sorry if I sound picky, but I would just like to get it right. Really want a Roman and/or Greek-styled lyre in there with some influences from the Near East. I know you are more used to things Matoran-like so it's alright. I am just thankful that you are part of this project and willing to put up with my nit-pickiness. There is a lyre in the song, as well as an oboe and a doumbek, all of which are traditionally Middle Eastern sounding. I'm afraid I can't do anything to add a tamboura, since my range of acoustic instruments is only that of an orchestra. Hmm. Then maybe it was just the abrupt ending. But I don't know, it still doesn't sound right... Just a theory, but maybe it is the last instrument added before the song ends. The oboe at 0:40? Yep. Would you rather that be a flute or a violin or something like that?

  7. Isn't Salacious Crumb the weird monkey thing in Jabba the Hutt's palace?
  8. I don't exactly know. Much of Spherus Magna incorporates Bara Magna, which includes Neala. That means that there is going to be a lot of desert and ancient influence. I am going to be honest. From what I remember I didn't like The Bard too much in the context it is supposed to belong in. It didn't have a Greco-Roman feel to it, felt more purely Slavic. And this is talking mostly about instruments. The tambouras and other similar lyres should be fine. It is possible that my memory is failing here, if you want I will dig up the song and listen to it again to have a fresh hear. But only later, I am pretty sick right now and i have put off finishing this message for far too long. Glad it's finally done. Critique away: https://soundcloud.com/theironchicken/the-bard-2/s-cjMQD
  9. A music question: are we assuming that folk music in this universe is similar to earthly folk music? I already did the song "The Bard", which borrowed heavily from Russian and traditional Klezmer music. I just started on a very folky song that sounds very American, a bit like Amazing Grace or something similar. Would any group have music like this?
  10. i appreciate the attempt, but the bit about the audio being garbage is all too true. Also, I don't think your voice is deep enough; you can cheat by making it deeper through audio manipulation if you want. I was trying it out myself, but I am also a bit sick so it didn't come out sounding the best.I have a pretty deep voice myself. But there's only one problem. I don't have a microphone. The closest thing I have is my iPad Mic, but thats it. I can hit pretty low notes and high notes. Another problem is that I don't have a room that I can record things in. There is my dad's guitar room, but that's just about it. Hmm... He does have microphones, but no way for me to record anything. Unless if he actually does have something to do that, but I don't know of it. FYI, closets with clothes in them are very good audio recording booths. They're quiet, and the clothes absorb background noise. I might give it a go later.
  11. It even looks like the Three Virtues symbol and the Solis Magna system.
  12. Something that he can let get past him. Pewku.
  13. Disclaimer: I do not speak German. My knowledge of the language is limited to what Google Translate can tell me. But it seemed like it fit here better than the traditional Maori, so I plugged in some relevant English terms (machine and automaton among them), and Gerät just struck me as sounding best. I didn't think to try apparatus - 'Schwerekraft-Apparat' sounds pretty good, though I'm personally not sure apparatus makes any more sense than device. The name is just a minor detail to me anyways - my foremost concern is the actual MOC. I mentioned "Apparat" because there is actually an existing German word that describes something similar to the MOC: Kilmaapparat. Kilma means climate and Apparat means apparatus, so a climate apparatus is an air conditioner. Both Kilma and Schwerekraft would be used as the noun being influenced by the apparatus. That is, a Klimaapparat changes the climate and a Schwerekraftapparat changes the gravity. I don't know, I guess I just liked the idea of a gravity conditioner.
  14. If you can throat sing, I want to hear it. Ditto. I could use some good vocals in some songs.
  15. This MOC is fantastic. It's possibly one of the best I've seen. The only thing that's bothering me is the German name. Wouldn't "Apparat", "Maschine" or even "Automat" be a more appropriate word than "Gerät"? This seems more like an apparatus, machine, or automaton than a device to me.
  16. I always thought he just looked like either a divine Matoran as a Biblical allusion (humans were created in God's image) or like a glowing form inhabiting a suit of armor, like Teridax.
  17. JOOOHN CENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ಠ_ಠ
  18. What is a De-Matoran's favorite piece of music? 4'33" by John Cage.
  19. I'm very partial to the 12 original Toa and Turaga masks. My favorite mask overall is the original Kakama, though, closely followed by the Noble Huna.
  20. Like people save said, the Hordika and Nocturn. Also, the rest of the Toa Hagah, and the Rahagah.
