  1. I agree to most of this, though I do like a little grit, and I love Vezon. XD

Also, while some side characters should remain appearance-less, I hope they do more contests for fanmade canon, like the Tahtorak (that TLG actually acknowledges, not just Greg).

Hate to burst bubbles, but unfortunately as the main target is 9-year-olds, main purchasers are going to be parents of those kids.... and I think there's still enough traditionally-minded people of that age that Lego isn't going to take the risk of introducing subjects like gender fluidity, for fear of losing business. Hopefully in 10 years or so, when it's our kids, that will be different.

I'll probably buy and read everything, cuz I'm just so darn excited for its return. :b

  2. I very much enjoyed making comics in the time I was a part of that scene. But in retrospect I did realize that most comics in BAC just aren't funny, now or then. Frankly while sprites in themselves aren't bad, I think they gave people the tendency to just get lazy, with both content and appearance. It was hard even for me to not get caught up in the 'commercial' aspect of it, with self-promotion and guest stars and so on.

I was hoping to make a handdrawn comic series with some actual decent effort at humor, but I didn't get the time to commit to any more than 4 of them, so it never got posted. If the new Bionicle series sticks around for more than a year, I may give it a try once more.

Comics that are different from the norm are a very welcome sight, IMO.

EDIT: To note, I haven't looked at your comics yet. I will be sure to do so. :)

  3. The world sucks, and everyone turns to generations like it's any particular one's fault. We all have a part in how this world is, and if we don't like it, it's our fault.

Protip: it's not the government's fault, the media's fault, religion's fault, or anything else specific's fault either. It's the whole human race.

  4. They're probably worried given the whole upcoming-family thing. As long as it's a stable job, though, don't take their concern too hard (I'm in a similar place right now, and I know better than to listen to my parents' recommendations to live at home til I'm old and rich, haha).

  5. It's funny that all 3 of us seem to disagree. I'd interpret it as Cassius stating that it wasn't fate that made them lesser than Caesar, but their self-image. He says in the very line before that we sometimes control our fate... so he's saying that it isn't their fate (which like the stars are unreachable and uncontrollable in their eyes), but the thought within themselves (exact quote: "in ourselves") that they consider themselves to be underlings, that betrays them.

Van Houten's interpretation isn't that far off, actually... he's saying this is one of those cases in which the stars are the problem - it's not them holding themselves back, but it is their stars (their unchangeable fate, cancer) that causes their tragedy.

Also, BioGio, that statement isn't particularly wrong.

  6. A solid foam would actually probably be best. You can just use an Xacto knife (sword of exact zero!) to whittle down the shape and details, and then paint (you may want to cover the surface first with plaster of paris or something similar first, but it won't be a disaster if you don't).

You don't have to buy separate sheets, either. You can get big thick blocks - they're usually green and in the flower section, to put in the base of pots for fake flowers.
