  1. Fact: The only thing I'm against is the fact people have to send it to BrickFair to vote.

I'm sorry, I am not ignorant; most of those conventions are frequented by AFOL who dislike our brand. What makes the contest hosts think that this is the best thing in the world?

    My $0.02, of course.

We've sent two contests to conventions already: contest #38 at Brickfest and contest #50 at Brickfair. Both were rousing successes on and off BZP. There may be some AFOLs out there who talk a mean talk online, but on the convention floor, most people can't help but be blown away by what people can build from Bionicle. The only real issues encountered in these contests have been ones of logistics.

  2. I can't believe I keep having to deal with all this.

Posting a blog entry just to bash another MOC as a 'ripoff' is so very, very far from good sportsmanship. There's even no reason to really suspect plagiarism: the core is a design that's been in the fandom for closing on ten years, the pins/axles are rendered in an entirely different way, and it only follows that such a thing would need a wide base of some sort. It is anything but an impossibility that this MOC was actually conceived without ever seeing your entry.

You get one more chance. Apologize and clean up your behaviour, or you will be disqualified. This is not the conduct I want to see in contest-goers.

And to the commenters joining in on the slagging: not cool, guys. I don't want to see any of you act like this again.
