It's been like a month, right?

    BIONICLE 2010
    • All characters we know by name survived the death of Teridax. [source]
    • All named characters survived Teridax's death and will escape alive from the Matoran universe through any one of the many hatches that were needed for Mata Nui's construction or other means of leaving the robot body. [source]
    • Greg would assume that after Teridax's death, the Rahi in the Archives will be released, since it is the only humane thing to do. [source]
    • Ehlek's species will probably require the aid of multiple Toa of Water in order to relocate to Spherus Magna from the Matoran universe. [source]
    • Tahu can no longer form a Toa Kaita with the other Toa Nuva. [source]
    • Since the death of Teridax, Tren Krom has disappeared from his island, and no one knows where he is. [source]
    • Nektann does in fact have a third power. [source]
    • There are currently 57 Toa alive. [source]
    • There were not necessarily more heat vision Rahkshi present in the Bara Magna invasion than any of the other types, although there tended to be more in view during the first part of the battle since they came out of the Matoran universe before the others. [source]
    • The Nuva symbols will be relocated from the Matoran universe. [source]
    • According to Greg, there are "probably a couple hundred" Dark Hunters. [source]
    • The Vahi will at some point leave the Matoran universe, presumably in the hands of Voporak if he still has it. [source] [source]
    • The Shadowed One has not received the Vahi from Voporak yet, since he is off doing something else at the moment. [source]
    • The Rahkshi's upgrades mentioned in Journey's End included better armor. [source]
    • The baterra are still headed toward the Bara Magna desert. [source]
    • On the Sisters of the Skrall in comparison to the male Skrall: "I see them as being more serious and thoughtful ... certainly capable of destruction, but it's more directed at a goal rather than "let's just conquer everything." They don't have the same motivation Tuma did, because the baterra are no threat to them. So it's more a, "Let these different groups fight it out and then we will pick up the pieces" mentality." [source]
    • The satchel that Gresh carries as mentioned in Journey's End is brown and about the size of a bookbag, and Gresh usually has it on his mount when traveling. [source]
    • The sundial excavated from Onu-Koro which came into Takanuva's possession would have been left behind in the Matoran universe. There is no particular point in retrieving it now. [source]
    • Umbra will be inclined to guard the Ignika wherever it is to be kept on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The Ignika would be able to undo the curse it put on the Great Being who touched it. [source]
    • Mata Nui used the Ignika to cure everyone afflicted by the Pit mutagen, even those not on Aqua Magna. This includes Lesovikk, Sarda, Idris, the Barraki, Brutaka, and Karzahni. Ehlek is now amphibious as well. The Ignika's power even healed the exposed sea life on Aqua Magna. [source] [source] [source]
    • Mata Nui restored even the Northern Frost with the Ignika's energy. [source]
    • Tahu has gained all the powers of the Kraata killed by the Golden Armor, and he does not need the Golden Armor to access any of his new abilities. [source] [source]
    • There are still Glatorian stuck in the Forest of Blades. [source]

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The armor which Agori and Glatorian wear to distinguish the tribes did not come from the Great Beings. [source]
    • The alien technology present in Atakus's swords originated from the planet to be featured in the New World project. [source]
    • Lein died 265,000 years ago. The Element Lords (ca. 103,000 years ago) therefore were not around by the time Lein was still alive. The Iron Tribe, on the other hand, was still around at the time. The Skrall had not yet become an invasive tribe, though none of the Skrall characters in current story were alive yet. Lein was also dead before the explosion of the prototype robot 150,000 years ago. [source] [source]
    • Lein predates all of the existing Bara Magna characters (even Ackar) except probably Raanu, who would have been quite young when he was still living. Certavus and Surel were also alive before Lein died, though very young. None of the individuals who became the Element Lords were yet born. [source]
    • Before the Shattering, in addition to the Jungle and Iron Tribe, Bota Magna would also have been home to Skrall, who were neighbors of the Iron Tribe and to part of the Water Tribe. Ice would have been there or at least nearby. Sand would have had no presence in Bota Magna. [source]
    • Lein's drift was a river crossing through which many travelers or traders would have needed to pass. [source]
    • Skrall are born into their caste systems; one could never change classes. [source]
    • Lein traded whatever he could get his hands on that someone might want, be it tools, food, etc. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Greg would assume that the vehicles we have encountered in the Matoran universe run on some kind of power cell with a very long lifespan. [source]
    • Seasons did not really change within the Matoran universe. Seasons did however shift on the island of Mata Nui in periods of more or less heat. Spherus Magna and its constituent parts all experienced naturally occurring seasons. [source]
    • It may have been in the Matoran universe that during the day and night cycles in the domes, the bunches of lightstones which lit the sky at day dimmed during night to look like distant stars. [source]
    • A Toa of Psionics would be able to induce nightmares in someone who is asleep. [source]
    • In general, Toa of Psionics do not need a weapon to channel their powers, though some use a tool out of habit or lack of experience. [source]
    • Greg would doubt that a Toa of Psionics could wipe someone's memories, though she might be able to mask them temporarily. [source]
    • It requires elemental energy to control an existing form of the element as well as to create it. [source]
    • The scareRahi used by the Av-Matoran of Karda Nui were made from plants from the swamp. It would take a few hours to craft one. [source]
    • Since Helryx is not actually physically older than many of the inhabitants of the Matoran universe, Greg would ascribe her frail appearance to the fact that she has been through a lot. [source]
    • The names of the Rahi Kuma-Nui, Kahu, Kirikori Nui, and Mahi can approximately translate to the type of cretaure each Rahi resembles; Kuma translates to something like "rat" or "rodent," Kahu to "hawk," Kirikori to "grasshopper" or "locust," and Mahi to "goat." [source]
    • The Brotherhood of Makuta fortress where Zaktan and later Pridak found out about Teridax's Plan is located to the west of Destral as indicated in this image. [source]
    • On warfare used by the Toa during the Toa-Dark Hunter War: "You definitely want to imprison/incapacitate the enemy, because otherwise, you just have to fight them again. And I think they probably did follow the code less strictly, simply because the code exists in large part to govern how the Matoran see them. I don't think the Matoran would have an issue with them killing in a war, in the same way humans allow our soldiers to kill in war but not in normal everyday life." [source]
    • The original Matoran Chief Archivist on Metru Nui from before the Great Cataclysm resumed his job after the Matoran's return. He has since moved to Spherus Magna with the rest. [source]
    • Were the Toa Nuva to become Turaga and merge into Turaga Kaita, they would not form the Akamai and Wairuha characters, nor would their masks be noble versions of the Aki and Rua. [source]
    • The Great Beings built the Suva. In order for the Toa to use them now, they would need to relocate them outside of the Matoran universe. [source]
    • It is likely that the Order of Mata Nui employed Maxilos robots on Daxia. [source]
    • The Order of Mata Nui did not know about Mata Nui's mission. [source]
    • The island of Nynrah never had Toa protectors. Xia most likely did have Toa. Stelt would not have had Toa, since the law is generally unwelcome there. [source]
    • Not all of the Matoran living on Nynrah were part of the Nynrah Ghosts. [source]
    • Krana only affect the biomechanical residents of the Matoran universe, since they are designed to override programming. [source]
    • Under normal circumstances, anyone taken control by a Krana during a Bohrok's cleansing of Mata Nui's face would have ended up with the Bohrok in the Bohrok nests. [source]
    • Were Pridak to die, Kalmah would probably step in to lead the Barraki. If Kalmah were also unavailable, the team would simply fall apart. [source]
    • The monster created by the Skakdi does not have the abilities of the characters fused into it nor carries a weapon. [source]

    KANOHI
    • It would take not long at all for the Mask of Creation to conjure something like a sword. [source]
    • There is a limit to how long an Iden user can be away from one's body. [source]
    • Greg would assume that the Toa Mata's Kanohi went to Artakha when they received their Golden Kanohi. [source]
    • The Golden Kanohi were made by Artakha. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • The new Toa serial will take place after Teridax's death. [source]
    • The stop-motion Bionicle Battle Videos represent canon fight sequences. [source]

    Hello friends.

It certainly has been a long time. I see now that I managed to go through all of 2011 without making a single post - anywhere on this website! The downtime throughout the entire summer probably did not help any. Now it looks like the Official Greg Topic, has just... stopped. And from reading the home page these days you would hardly know that this is a BIONICLE website.

Anyway, even though this is a very busy period of time, I think it is important to take some time to wrap up an old tradition. So just in case you feel like you never got a proper conclusion to the Farshtey Feed, and even though this should be considered way out of date, I give you its last entry ever, corresponding to p328-334; 1-5. Enjoy. =)

    LIFE ON SPHERUS MAGNA
    • It has been a month or so in the story since the defeat of Teridax. [source] [source]
    • There are many species from the Matoran Universe in the new Matoran/Agori settlement on Spherus Magna, but there are far more Matoran than anyone else from the Matoran Universe. [source]
    • In the aftermath of the battle between Mata Nui and Makuta on Bara Magna, there are probably a little over 40 Toa left. [source]
    • Kualus and Nuju are not able to speak to the birds native to Spherus Magna in the way they can communicate with bird Rahi from the Matoran universe, because the languages are completely different. The biomechanical birds from the MU speak a variant of programming language, like the other languages in the Matoran universe. [source] [source]
    • The Order of Mata Nui will stay together. [source]
    [source]
    • Lightstones no longer work now that the Matoran Universe is destroyed. The Matoran did not bring any of them to Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The Makuta stone from the Amaja Circle tales was brought from Metru Nui to Spherus Magna. The Makoki Stone and other items of value would also have been taken when the Matoran migrated from Mata Nui to Metru Nui, etc. [source]
    • The Matoran did not bring heatstones to Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The Matoran military groups from Mata Nui/Metru Nui have not been disbanded since Makuta's fall. [source]
    • The Matoran will probably continue their sports and games on Spherus Magna when they have the time. [source]
    • Old enemies such as the Dark Hunters and Barraki will doubtfully be welcomed in to the new society. [source]
    • Now that the Matoran Universe and prototype robots have broken down, they will be used to build shelters on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • Some beings are holding out from evacuating the Matoran universe, primarily those who can survive without heat or light. [source]
    • The Order of Mata Nui will certainly try to establish a new version of the Pit, in collaboration with the Agori. Greg supposes that guarding the new Pit would be a shared responsibility between Glatorian and the Maxilos robots. Hydraxon's role is unclear, but he may be used as more of a bounty hunter. [source]

    CHARACTER STATUSES
    • Takanuva still has yet to fulfill his true destiny. Greg knows what this destiny is, and whether or not it will ever be revealed depends on whether it becomes important to story. [source] [source]
    • Takanuva and the Toa Mahri should be considered veteran Toa by now. [source]
    • Tahu is adjusting rapidly to his newfound Rahkshi powers. [source]
    • After the fall of Roxtus, Branar met up with one of the fragments of the Rock Tribe. [source]
    • The following characters/creatures have made it out of the Matoran universe and are on Spherus Magna: Voporak, the Rahi Nui, the Kardas Dragon, Tahtorak, the Kanohi Dragon, and Umbra. It is unknown whether Varian has made it. Tren Krom was freed from his island and allowed to escape, but it is unknown who. [source] [source] [source] [source] [source] [source] [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • Greg, on the outcome of "The Powers That Be": "Best answer is to look at the title -- it's about power. BUT -- I will give you a clue -- in the end this story is not going to be about death and murder ... the story is about to take a BIG turn." [source]
    • Greg strongly hints that the Red Star is "causing trouble." [source]
    • According to Greg, the reason why Toa and Glatorian characters have been the ones seen settling problems between the Matoran and Agori instead of the Turaga and village elders is because the village leaders are busy trying to set up a social structure for their new society, and are leaving the handling of internal disputes to the respected heroes. [source]
    • Metus transformed back into an Agori because what Mata Nui did to him wore off. [source]
    • The gold-skinned fusion creature knew so much about Annona because it is telepathic. [source]
    • Annona was referring to Zaktan when he mentioned the "one thought dead." [source]
    • The elemental power inhibitor which Kabrua is using only works on Toa. [source]
    • Mavrah really is who he appears to be in "The Powers That Be." [source]

    SISTERS OF THE SKRALL
    • All of the Sisters of the Skrall who went looking for Angonce fell under Annona's power, as seen in "Sahmad's Tale." [source]
    • Unlike the male Skrall, all female Skrall have personal names. [source] [source]
    • The female Skrall of Bota Magna are much like the ones on Bara Magna. They too have psionic powers and do not get along with the male Skrall in their region, having formed an enclave of their own. The Skrall of Bota Magna in general are just as militaristic as the ones on Bara Magna. [source] [source]
    • If female Skrall have a male child, they give it back to the males. [source]

    ANNONA
    • The name of the red, tentacled creature from "Sahmad's Tale" is spelled "Annona." [source]
    • Annona has always lived on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • Greg sees Annona as female. [source]
    • Annona looks like a ball of energy with tentacles. [source]
    • Annona remained in hiding for so long out of fear of the Great Beings. [source]

    KESTORA
    • The Kestora, the beings found living in the Red Star in "The Powers That Be," are of the same species as the black and purple creatures seen in "The Journey of Takanuva," when Takanuva was visiting a pocket dimension. [source] [source]
    • Kestora are biomechanical and are creations of the Great Beings. [source]
    • The Kestora are the same beings Gali Nuva saw living in the Red Star through the telescope. [source]
    • Kestora appear to wear masks and hold bladed weapons, and are a little smaller than Matoran or Agori. [source] [source]
    • Kestora do not live anywhere else in the main universe besides the Red Star. [source]
    • The reason why Kestora were found living in a pocket dimension is an unclear topic. Greg once stated that there is no reason to believe that the Great Beings are responsible for their presence there. According to him, the Great Beings did create all of the pocket dimensions tied to the Matoran Universe, but they did not put the Kestora in the pocket dimension Takanuva visited. In his words, "How exactly the GBs created these entities [is] not yet known. So what they may have done is gotten the ball rolling, but the actual creation took place over time in the two different places, which would then explain some of the behavioral differences between the two groups. The ones in the City of Silver seem to be warriors; the ones on the red star are not." When asked later why the Great Beings put Kestora in such a place, Greg replied with a conflicting answer, saying, "Because the Kestora were good for what they wanted done there." [source] [source] [source]

    GAARDUS
    • Gaardus, in addition to teleportation, has the power of flight, enhanced senses, and considerable strength. He also wears a functional Great Kanohi Hau, which is the mask he wore as a Matoran. [source] [source] [source]
    • Judging from the combiner model of Gaardus, he was originally a Ta-Matoran. [source]
    • The Nynrah Ghosts who experimented on Gaardus were rogues who had been exiled from Nynrah and forced to work elsewhere. [source]
    • Gaardus was mutated before the Barraki rebellion and before Phantom was mutated as well. [source] [source]
    • The Order of Mata Nui, Brotherhood of Makuta, and likely Artakha as well all knew about Gaardus. [source]
    • Gaardus likely had no knowledge of the Red Star before he went there himself the first time. [source]

    OTHER CHARACTERS
    • Toa Chiara wears the Mask of Stealth, which she also wore as a Matoran. [source] [source]
    • The gold-skinned fusion creature does not wear any armor. [source]
    • Marendar keys in on Toa power to find Toa. [source]
    • The Element Lords are physically one with their elements. They do not wear extra armor. [source] [source]

    CHARACTER AGES
    • Perditus is older than Gelu. [source]
    • Tarduk is older than Berix. [source]
    • Tuma is probably older than Stronius. [source]
    • Greg has estimated how old these characters would be considered to be in human years:
    Gresh: mid-20's [source]
    Ackar: late 40's [source]
    Raanu: early 60's [source]
    Tarix: early 40's [source]
    Kiina: mid-30's [source]
    Tuma: mid-40's [source]

    STORY DETAILS
    • Orde, Zaria, and Chiara all fought in the battle against the Rahkshi during the final battle between Mata Nui and Teridax. [source]
    • In the serialized form of Journey's End, Makuta comments on Pohatu and Gali devastating half a legion of Rahkshi, whereas in the Bionicle comic book that covered that same scene, he comments on Pohatu and Gali devastating half a legion of Skakdi. Greg says that Skakdi were meant in both cases. [source]
    • Kyry is depicted differently in "All Our Sins Remembered" from his winning MOC contest entry because the artists were never aware of the contest or its results. [source]
    • The Order of Mata Nui destroyed most of the energized protodermis sources in the Matoran Universe with a counteragent. What's left is still inside the Matoran Universe. [source]
    • The Mistika Makuta's armor was the same color before they were mutated. [source]
    • Greg, explaining the different types of physical dimensions that exist in the story: "The main universe is the one in which the 2001-2009 story has taken place. It is the equivalent of Earth-616 in Marvel. We consider it to be the core reality for purposes of story. An alternate reality is another version of the core reality in which events unfolded differently. It is not linked to the core reality, it exists on its own. New alternate realities are formed whenever a decision is made in the core reality. A pocket dimension is a totally separate reality linked to the core reality. New ones are not constantly formed, and it need not have any relation at all to the core reality." [source]
    • Greg imagines that there were still problem Rahi with infected Kanohi on Mata Nui as late as the start of the 2003 story. [source]
    • Greg, on how Tahnok-Kal was able to retain its memories after its Krana was stolen in Comic 11: "Well, it would be fairly impractical if everytime a Bohrok changed its krana, it lost all its memories, etc. My guess would be there has to be some mental link between krana to insure things like that don't happen." [source]

    THE GREAT BEINGS
    • The Iron Wolves and biomechanical dinosaurs created by the Great Beings were modifications of existing creatures. [source]
    • Greg, on why Angonce chose to stay on Spherus Magna: "I personally feel it is because he felt more of an attachment to the Agori than some of the others did. Keep in mind, though, that there is no evidence the other GBs actually left the planet, just that they disappeared. No one knows where they went." [source]
    • Greg, on how the Great Beings built the prototype robot: "[T]hey did not build it with their own hands. There aren't that many GBs, it would have taken them ages to build something that big by hand. They mostly used construction robots and a few Agori." [source]
    • The prototype robot was not built with a machine analogous to the Red Star, since it was not designed to leave the planet. [source]
    • The Great Beings already knew how to repair Spherus Magna when they created Mata Nui, but for geological reasons the repair of the planet could not be safely done until 100,000 years had passed. Therefore they did not implement an immediate solution and programmed the task into Mata Nui to be completed after his journey through space. [source] [source]
    • Marendar and the elemental power inhibitor were developed more or less at the same time, but by different Great Beings. [source]
    • The Great Beings did not stay in contact with the Kestora inside the Red Star; otherwise, they would have known that Mata Nui crashed. [source]
    • The Matoran universe inhabitant who is a Great Being in disguise is not being controlled remotely. The Great Being put his consciousness into one of the Matoran universe beings at the time of its creation, so he was never who he appeared to be. This Great Being is confirmed to be male. [source] [source]
    • Greg, on whether the disguised Great Being's intentions are evil: "Who defines evil? All we know is that whatever he is planning to do, Orde objects to it and wants it stopped. But to the GB, it might not be 'evil' at all." [source]
    • Even though the disguised Great Being would have left his old body on Spherus Magna for the others to find after he transferred his consciousness, the other Great Beings could have done nothing to stop him if they did not know where he had gone, and they had no access to the Matoran universe once it was launched anyway. [source]
    • The disguised Great Being is not using his real name. [source]
    • A Great Being would not be able to transfer his consciousness to a non-biomechanical being like a Glatorian or Agori. [source]
    • The Great Being who was cursed by the Mask of Life affects everything within a certain range of himself, and the effects only last while those things are in range. It would be possible for the Mask of Life to lift the curse or revert affected objects. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE HISTORY
    • It was not possible to travel between the Red Star and the Matoran Universe when they were docked together. [source]
    • The various forms of protodermis in the Matoran Universe were created artificially. [source]
    • Greg, on Tren Krom's original function: "He ran the universe - basically, he acted as the operating system for the machine until Mata Nui's AI came online. [... T]he MU was not turned on yet at that point, so he did not need to be wired into it to run it. Which is why once it was turned on, he wasn't able to do it anymore. All he had to be able to do was basically oversee the living things in the MU, and being telepathic, that was easy for him to do." [source]
    • Greg, on what Shadow Stealer did to protect the Matoran universe in the days before the first Toa: "There are always menaces -- remember, there was a giant robot being built in an area where there was wildlife and the robot was not sealed yet, so someone had to be defending the construction site from the inside." [source]
    • In the case that a planet did not have any large bodies of water, Mata Nui would have had to observe it from space. [source]
    • The Great Beings created the pocket dimensions tied to the Matoran universe, although we have not yet seen one which really served an important purpose. [source]
    • The lake of energized protodermis where Keetongu and Helryx encountered the Energized Protodermis Entity has existed in the Matoran Universe since 100,000 years ago. [source]
    • Lesovikk's mad Turaga, the one who sent all of his Matoran to Karzahni while Lesovikk's team was fighting Zyglak, went crazy all on his own; no external power caused him to go insane. [source]
    • During the Time Slip, the Order of Mata Nui did not hide more than one Av-Matoran in any one location, in order that they be spread out. [source]
    • The Great Beings did not create any male Ce-Matoran before deciding they should all be female. [source]
    • The Energy Hound species of Rahi was created by the Hand of Artakha. [source]
    • The Toa Mata were in training around the time when Mata Nui was being activated for the first time, and they were not even the first Toa team in existence. Even so, the Matoran Universe was constructed in a matter of months at the most. [source]
    • Protodites are biomechanical. [source]
    • Greg says that it is likely that all the Makuta had a Toa Hagah team at some point. Toa Hagah generally followed their Makuta wherever they went. It is likely that the Makuta employed Toa of Magnetism and Iron, given that they wanted Toa with those elements to be where they could keep an eye on them. [source]
    • Greg's opinion is that the fact that Life, Time, and Creation have legendary masks implies that these powers are considered beyond standard elements. [source]
    • According to Greg's belief, all the Nynrah Ghosts are Fe-Matoran. Therefore, Phantom was originally a Fe-Matoran, since he was a Nynrah Ghost. [source] [source]
    • When Av-Matoran become Bohrok, their consciousness does fade away, and they effectively die. From their point of view, it is a natural part of the cycle of life, and not something they fear. [source]
    • The primary color for the Iron element is metallic gray, like Zaria. Iron may also have other colors such as gold, bronze, and gray. [source]
    • Greg, on whether Matoran-language names are actually pronounced like they are spelled: "MU inhabitants speak programming language, so it may not sound anything at all like what our language sounds like. If I recall, one of the early online animations had them speaking in this very high-pitched way that sounded pretty much like programming noise." [source]
    • The inhabitants of the Matoran universe have mechanical eyes. [source]
    • Matoran of Plasma probably prefer hot climates like Matoran of Fire. [source]
    • Fe-Matoran would settle in environments near where metal can be mined. [source]
    • Matoran of plant life like to live in forests or jungles. [source]

    SPHERUS MAGNA HISTORY
    • According to Greg, the Energized Protodermis Entity is not as old as the Great Beings, since it did not achieve sentience that early. [source]
    • Vorox have always been aggressive, even before devolving into beasts. [source]
    • Like the Vorox on Bota Magna, the Zesk there did not regress into savagery either. [source]
    • The terms "Vorox" and "Zesk" are demonyms for members of the Sand Tribe rather than the names of species.
    • The Vorox and Zesk's tails are probably biomechanical. [source]
    • The Element Lord of Rock was not a supreme leader of the Skrall tribe before becoming an Element Lord. Basically, the Skrall were broken up into legions, and each legion had a leader. To Greg's knowledge, there was no overall supreme leader. [source]
    • Greg, on the whereabouts of Gresh's parents: "No idea. Probably still out there somewhere. Eventually, you do leave your parents and go out and make your own life, and that is what Gresh did." It is "not impossible" that they fought in the Core War. [source] [source]
    • A very popular delicacy among Glatorian is a particular species of hawk, for the reason that it is so hard to catch. It lives on mountain peaks. [source] [source]
    [source]
    • Aqua Magna may have had sand bars for seabirds to rest on in the time before Spherus Magna was reformed. [source]

    POWERS AND ABILITIES
    • Kanohi Nuva powers can be shared with the inhabitants of Spherus Magna. [source] [source]
    • The Kanohi Rau only works with languages of the Matoran universe. The Rau would be able to decipher codes as well, since codes are basically languages. [source]
    • Toa and Glatorian can channel their elemental powers through any of each other's tools; they are not limited to work with only one element. [source]
    • In terms of elemental power, the following rank from strongest to weakest: Makuta, Toa Nuva, Toa Hordika/Toa Inika/Takanuva, Glatorian. Toa Hordika have the same level of elemental power as normal Toa but less mental capacity to use it. [source]
    • Toa Tuyet is much more powerful than a Toa Nuva, but Greg argues that she is not as powerful as an Element Lord, since an Element Lord essentially is one with the element it controls, whereas Tuyet merely wields it. She has more raw elemental energy than a Makuta, but a Makuta has more willpower and mental discipline to be able to use its power more efficiently. [source] [source]
    • Tahu, with his new Kraata powers, is more powerful than Toa Tuyet with her Nui Stone. [source]
    • A normal Toa would not be able to use a Toa Kaita mask. [source]
    • When used above water, Lesovikk's sea sled does not fly, but hovers above the ground. [source]
    • Krahka would be able to change herself to look mostly like a Glatorian or an Agori but would not be able to make herself mostly organic like on of them. She would be a biomechanical version of one and not terribly convincing to anyone who really knew what one was like. [source]
    • The Shadowed One is not able to use Kanohi. [source]
    • A Mask of Rahi Control would not work on Spherus Magna wildlife. [source]
    • Takutanuva, like Makuta, had the ability to shapeshift. [source]
    • A user of the Mask of Intangibility avoids falling through the ground by willpower. [source]
    • It is known that Av-Matoran can access special powers when in contact with a Toa or Makuta. These same powers would be available to them upon becoming a Toa. Takanuva never found out what his Av-Matoran power was as Takua, so he cannot access it. [source]
    • The Kanohi Hau cannot block unseen attacks, so it would not be effective for blocking attacks from an invisible opponent. [source]
    • Makuta can only use one Rahkshi power at a time. The particular strength of these powers in comparison to a Kraata depends on the willpower of the individual Makuta. [source]
    • The quick healing Rahkshi power only affects organic components, not armor. [source]
    • Rahkshi powers like fire resistance need to be consciously activated. [source]

    Definition
At the time of 80,000 years ago, Barraki was an archaic Matoran word roughly meaning “warlord.”

    History
Ninety-five thousand years ago, as a potential means of maintaining order in the world more efficiently, Mata Nui created six beings of power – Pridak, Kalmah, Carapar, Mantax, Ehlek, and Takadox – each of a different race – and made them dictatorial rulers of small territories. Naturally, each of these six became dissatisfied with the amount of power given to them and built up armies of conquest to expand their realms. It was the subjects of their lands who ascribed the title Barraki to these six warlords. Each of the six Barraki became a veteran fighter and raider, coming to believe that they were preordained to rule over others by right of the superior strength and intellect they possessed that made even Toa seem inferior.

Ninety-four thousand years ago, the Barraki teamed together under the leadership of Pridak and formed a union known as the League of Six Kingdoms. Following this act, the Barraki formed an alliance with the island of Xia, placing all of their industrial needs for weapons and other materials for war on the island. Eighty-seven thousand years ago, the League of Six Nations was able to forge a trade pact with Metru Nui. At the height of their power, the Barraki’s rule extended all the way from Xia in the north to the southern islands. No one – not the Brotherhood of Makuta, not the Dark Hunters – could reckon with their might.

Eighty-thousand years ago, the Barraki secretly gathered together at Pridak’s island fortress to enact their ultimate ambition: to amass a grand army to conquer the entire known world in one swift blow, subsequently overthrowing Mata Nui and becoming undisputed rulers of the universe. When they thought that their plans had been entirely unknown, however, a massive army of Toa, Exo-Toa, Rahkshi, and Rahi sent by the Brotherhood of Makuta numbering tens of thousands strong suddenly appeared from the north and slammed into the Barraki’s armies. Although the Barraki fought to the last against this invasion, many of their clearly outmatched troops surrendered or fled. By nightfall, the Barraki were brought bound before their defeater, the Makuta of Metru Nui, displaying no cowardice in his presence. Just as Makuta was about to order the Exo-Toa to destroy the Barraki, a figure named Botar arrived on the scene, claiming the Barraki as his own prisoners. Despite Makuta’s protests, Botar vanished with the six Barraki before his eyes.

While the rest of the world did not feel compelled to wonder about the Barraki’s fate, Botar, a member of the Order of Mata Nui, at that moment had teleported the Barraki to a place of confinement called the Pit. In the months following the Barraki’s mysterious disappearance, their armies and empires were dissolved, and trade was disrupted in many parts of the world. Some of their troops were sent back to their homelands for imprisonment; others were taken in by the Brotherhood of Makuta to serve as slave laborers. The Barraki’s fortresses were destroyed, and their names were effaced from all historical records save that of the Brotherhood’s success. All the while, the Barraki brooded in the Order of Mata Nui’s dungeon, bitterly hating Mata Nui, the Brotherhood of Makuta, and anyone else who still possessed the freedom that they had lost.

The Barraki were held captive in their new prison for tens of thousands of years until, when the Great Cataclysm occurred one thousand years ago, a great quake shattered the dome of the Pit, its barrier against the ocean of the surface world above. The mutagenic ocean waters entirely submerged the Pit, and every one of its prisoners began to change. Immediately the Barraki mutated so that they could breathe water. By the time their mutation became complete, they had become hideous creatures resembling monsters of the deep sea.

The Barraki were free of the Pit’s confines but at the same time could not leave their new underwater environment, for they could no longer breathe air. Surrounded by other monsters of the deep, the Barraki quickly learned the rules of their harsh new surroundings of eating or otherwise being eaten. While other prisoners of the Pit freely scattered throughout the ocean, the Barraki established their own territory not far from their old home. This, they thought, was where they take a first step to rebuilding the mighty empire they had lost.

Soon after the Barraki’s escape from the pit, Ehlek built a fortress for the Barraki. Kalmah also discovered the Octo Cave, an undersea cavern in which life-sucking sea squid dwelled. The Barraki constructed special launchers that could hurl these voracious squid at an enemy. Each of the Barraki also learned how to command armies of sea creatures similar to themselves by becoming the “alpha males.” In this new way of life, the Barraki ruled the sea.

Three-hundred years ago, however, Ehlek’s Barraki fortress was crushed and destroyed by Mahri Nui when the Matoran city sank beneath the surface of the ocean and landed on top of it. Though the Matoran of Mahri Nui were able to maintain a fragile existence underwater, the Barraki always held some resentment toward them, sporadically picking off the Matoran for sport over the years.

In recent days, Kalmah received a report of a strange Kanohi mask coming into possession of the Matoran of Mahri Nui. Kalmah quickly spread the news to the other Barraki, and the six met together at the Razor Whale’s Teeth about this mask’s appearance in the Pit, suspecting it to be the Mask of Life. While Carapar and Takadox abducted the Ga-Matoran who was seen retrieving the mask (Kyrehx), Pridak and his legion of Takea sharks attacked the Matoran’s first exploratory undersea vehicle to interrogate the Matoran inside. Ehlek simply used the mask’s appearance as an excuse to unleash his army of Venom Eels on Mahri Nui to revenge himself on the Matoran. No one got any leads as to where the Mask of Life was until Kalmah and Mantax spotted a Po-Matoran (Dekar) swimming with it toward an undersea cave. Kalmah and Mantax followed Dekar into the cave just as he brought a blow down to the mask in an attempt to destroy it. In defense, the Ignika sent a beam of energy deep into the cavern. A giant Venom Eel, roughly 300 feet long, emerged and swam out of the cave, going on a destructive rampage on everything in sight. While each Barraki reacted differently in the confusion, the Venom Eel eventually wrapped itself around the stone cord leading from Mahri Rock to an unknown location on the surface after hearing sounds of battle coming from the inside. Eventually, all the Barraki except Takadox, who was knocked unconscious in an attempt to hypnotize the giant Venom Eel, cornered Dekar with the Ignika in the cave. When Pridak grabbed the mask, however, a searing flash of light and energy suddenly exploded out of the Ignika that illuminated all of Mahri Rock.

    Personalities
Each of the Barraki held the belief that they were superior to others given the fact that they were stronger, more intelligent, and more apt to rule over their lives. Although none of the Barraki would have hesitated to betray another for personal survival or gain, they never harmed one another unless it was absolutely practical to do so. Barraki respected one another as leaders and commanders, but none truly cared for the well-being of another. Given the fact that they were trapped together in the same prison for almost 80,000 years, they forged a close camaraderie; but also given the chance to return to their former power through the Kanohi Ignika, it suited them just fine to push and shove one another out of their way to freedom.

    Physical Traits
After their escape from the original Pit, each Barraki carried a squid launcher. Each was also in command of a vast army of undersea creatures. Most of the Barraki also relied entirely on physical melee combat rather than on special abilities. The Barraki also devised special clips on their armor that carried sea squid for them.

A note about the Farshtey Feed's erratic schedule as of late:

Due to a lessening in the weekly amount of information coming into the OGD (an apparent result of BIONICLE's lack of further set releases), I am choosing on occasion to combine two to four weeks' worth of information into single Farshtey Feed entries. This is to keep each individual entry more comprehensive.

    CURRENT STORY

    SERIALS

    REIGN OF SHADOWS
    • Brutaka is still under the effects of his submersion in antidermis. [source]
    • Despite the fact that Krika spared Miserix from death, Miserix probably does not think highly of him, since Krika imprisoned him in a place where he could have died at any moment. He regards Brutaka and the rest of the team that freed him as people he can use for the moment. [source]
    • In Greg's words, the fate of the Piraka is that they are "Living on in a different form. We do not know that it is impossible to undo what was done, which would mean they would be alive again." [source]
    • The golden-skinned fusion has its own distinct mind and personality and is not a merging of the minds which created it. [source]

    SAHMAD'S TALE
    • Metus and Telluris are still alive. [source]

    THE POWERS THAT BE
    • After Karzahni was retrieved from the Matoran universe, he disappeared in all the confusion of rescue operations, explaining why he was not imprisoned in Chapter 1. [source]
    • Karzahni's Kanohi Olisi is now broken, smashed when he fell over the cliff. [source]
    • In Greg's words, on the death-certainty of Karzahni's character: "I consider him to be dead." [source]
    • Greg has alluded to "future victims" in The Powers That Be, and he confirms that indeed more characters will be killed in the story. [source]
    • Karzahni was one of "The Powers That Be" to which the serial alludes. [source]

    2010 STORY
    • The Glatorian were able to mop up the enemy hordes which remained after Makuta's defeat because once Tahu had destroyed all of the Rahkshi, the Skrall left the fight because they were no longer motivated by the Rahkshi's significant numerical advantage. The Skakdi were subsequently outnumbered and either were beaten or surrendered. [source]
    • It is already known that the Matoran of Mahri Nui were partially mutated during their brief exposure to the Pit mutagen, and that this mutation altered them to resemble how they looked before their botched reconstruction by Karzahni. Greg believes that when Mata Nui undid the mutations of anyone exposed to the Pit mutagen, he had the ability to be selective and did not revert the Matoran back to their Karzahni forms. Greg believes that there was also no need to make the Matoran amphibious, since they were no longer living underwater. [source]
    • Tahu continues to wear the Golden Armor. [source]

    NEW SPHERUS MAGNA SOCIETY

    SPHERUS MAGNA NATIVES
    • In Greg's words, this is what would happen if two Agori from different tribes were to have a child, and what tribe that child would belong to: "Agori are not born with colors. They simply wear armor that has the color of the tribe they are in. So it would come down to which tribe the child (or their parents) chose to live in. For example, now that resources are not so scarce, if a Fire and Water tribe couple had a child, one parent or the other might choose to change villages and bring the child along." [source]
    • Vastus is older than Tarix, who is older than Strakk. Raanu is older than Ackar. Gelu and Kiina are probably about the same age. [source] [source] [source] [source]
    • There are a fair number of baterra still remaining on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The baterra do not generally use ranged weaponry, since this would require ammunition and because the baterra's essential technique is to get into close range of a target before killing it. [source]
    • Baterra are roughly the height of a Bohrok. [source]
    • The implication in the story, according to Greg himself, is that Angonce is currently on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • It is doubtful that the Sisters of the Skrall would want to take part in the new social order of Spherus Magna, and Malum and Strakk definitely will not. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE NATIVES
    • The Matoran will be able to feed on the organic animals found on the new Spherus Magna, just as they fed off of organic fish on the island of Mata Nui. [source]
    • Special Av-Matoran will continue to transform into Bohrok even on the new Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The inhabitants of the Matoran universe might find the concept of romance interesting to observe on Spherus Magna, though it will not affect them since it is not something they have need for as a society. [source]
    • Sarda and Hydraxon have likely made their way to a camp on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • Any Maxilos machines which were inside the Matoran universe when Makuta left Aqua Magna are currently still in the Matoran universe or otherwise already moved to Bara Magna. Any that were outside the robot are still in the ocean of Aqua Magna. [source]
    • In Greg's words, the Order of Mata Nui is currently doing "Pretty much the same thing they were doing before, enforcing the will of Mata Nui." [source]
    • If the krana get out of the Matoran universe robot, they will have to manage to survive; otherwise, they will go dormant in the Matoran universe as they did when the Turaga buried them. [source]
    • If the Zyglak leave the Matoran universe, they will probably not get along with the natives of Spherus Magna, since they will be co-existing with the Matoran universe population. Also, the Zyglak might well not recognize a Great Being if they saw one. [source]

    PAST STORY

    MATORAN HISTORY
    • In Greg's words, on whether the inhabitants of the Matoran universe experienced day and night cycles: "Metru Nui did, as the head turned toward or away from an external sun. My guess is the robot would have had a sort of 'power up' and 'sleep' mode, like a PC does, that might have simulated night and day in other areas of the MU." [source]
    • Matoran dream when they sleep, as humans do. [source]
    • Greg is fine with the assumption that the Matoran word "kofo" is an antonym for "nui" which means "small." [source]
    • Although Vamprah was the Makuta in charge of Odina's region, the Shadowed One did not conduct his business with the Brotherhood through him. [source]
    • The fact that Shadow Stealer once worked for the Hand of Artakha does not imply that he ever knew or suspected the existence of its predecessor, the Order of Mata Nui. [source]
    • In Greg's words, the reason Xia would have had its own resident Toa team is because "Xia would also be a prime target for pirates and thieves, who might have seized control of the place so that weapons could only be made for them." [source]
    • The Toa Hagah had the same mask powers as Toa Hagah as they had before becoming Teridax's bodyguards. [source]
    • Specifically, Keetongu killed Sidorak by beating him to death. [source]
    • There were no hidden Av-Matoran among Voya Nui's Matoran population. [source]
    • The Matoran of Voya Nui never rebuilt themselves to undo Karzahni's changes because they lacked the necessary raw materials and because they were uncertain if the attempt might harm them due to the nature of those changes. [source]
    • In Greg's words, on the likelihood of a Toa of Stone having been a part of the Toa Mangai team: "I can't see why there wouldn't have been one." [source]
    • It is possible, though not likely, that there are still living members of the Toa Mangai besides Tuyet. [source]
    • Whenever the Toa Mata wore new Kanohi they found over the ones which they already wore as seen in the comics, the latter Kanohi was sent back to their Suva. [source]
    • The part of Mangaia where the Toa Mata fought the Manas and the Shadow Toa was not the same chamber where Takanuva dueled Teridax. [source]

    AGORI HISTORY
    • According to Greg, the Great Beings doubtlessly installed the earliest mechanical implants given to the Agori themselves, but as a rule later on, the Great Beings were not the ones performing the implants. "Most implants are done by Agori and Glatorian for each other, usually by people with some healing skill like Berix had." This accounts for Agori born after the Shattering receiving implants. [source]
    • If any Agori, Skrall, or members of the Glatorian species were to have survived on Aqua Magna, they would have had to have stayed aboard ships, since there was no land anywhere on the planetoid. If any such ships would have been near the crash site of Mata Nui, they would have been sunk and their occupants drowned. If there were ships far away from the island of Mata Nui, they would most likely have run out of food long before they could have discovered the island and reached it. [source]

    GENERAL

    • In Greg's words, on the paradox of someone dying before he achieves his destiny: "If you die, then that was your destiny. Remember, 99.9% of characters don't know what their destiny is, anymore than humans do. So the concept of "dying without achieving you destiny" wouldn't occur to them." Essentially, there is no way for someone not to achieve his or her destiny. [source]
    • The Toa code never makes allowances for killing. However, there have been instances when Toa have killed an enemy unintentionally which were not considered violations. [source]
    • Greg believes that Gravity is one of the most powerful elements in the BIONICLE universe, along with Iron, since much of it is made of metal. [source]
    • Toa of Gravity are rare because the element of Gravity is especially powerful, and this fact would unbalance the story if their numbers were greater. In Greg's words, "Think about what gravity can do. If all I have to do is look at you to make you fly off into space or be crushed to paste against the ground, then it doesn't really matter what powers you have, does it?" Greg also confirms that a Toa of Gravity could possibly destroy an entire planet with a nova blast, at the cost of his own life of course. However, Greg in another place states that the fact that Gravity is such a powerful element is not the reason why Ba-Matoran are so rare (Greg may not be aware he has contradicted himself). [source] [source] [source]
    • In Greg's words, this is how a Toa of Iron would kill a Makuta: "Pretty simple. First, you rip the armor to shreds. Then you use your power to create a solid iron cell, with no cracks through which the antidermis can escape. After a certain amount of time, the antidermis disperses because it has no body to occupy, at which point the Makuta is dead. Or ... you compress the metal into a little ball, trapping the antidermis inside, then drop the ball into an active volcano, etc." [source]

    HYPOTHETICALS
    • If the Ignika were to be broken, Mata Nui's spirit would need to find another vessel to occupy; otherwise, it would dissipate over time, and Mata Nui would cease to exist. [source]
    • In Greg's words, the effects of a nova blast of the element of Life are "Irrelevant, since there is no Toa of Life to do one. But the[n] it could cause everything within a certain radius to come to animate life -- rocks, trees, etc. -- or it could age everyone [within] a certain radius, as it did with the creature in Karda Nui -- or it could simply extinguish life in that same radius." [source]
    • If part of a Toa's body were damaged, the Staff of Artakha would likely be able to repair its mechanical components but not the organic tissue. [source]
    • If a Skakdi were to be mutated by Hordika venom and developed a Rhotuka launcher as a result, he would have to use this Rhotuka in conjunction with another Skakdi, just like his elemental power. [source]
    • The Toa Nuva's adaptive weapons might turn into Cordak blasters if they were to go underwater. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • Do the shortage of useable names, it is very unlikely that the Element Lords will receive their own. [source]
    • The situation with the Great Being imprisoned on Bota Magna will be revealed soon; the whereabouts of the Shadowed One and of Tren Krom will be visited in later story. [source]
    • The baterra were originally planned to be part of the 2010 line of BIONICLE sets. [source]

It's been a busy three weeks.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Mata Nui was constructed standing upright, and there are hatches throughout the body so that workers and the Great Beings and their creations could get in and out.
    • The Glatorian-species members near Mata Nui's consciousness who died during the Great Cataclysm were intended to be pilots for the system to ensure it functioned properly continuously. "They were there in case something went wrong. If there was damage to Mata Nui's systems, there would need to be a manual takeover. Unfortunately, the damage was so pervasive and so fast that they couldn't stop its progression and they died in the crash." They were kept in suspended animation for most of the trip, which is why they were able to survive off limited supplies.
    • "MN is a giant robot, and the islands, continents, etc. are his organs. The Matoran and the rest are nanotech there to make him run efficiently. Their AI is such that they developed an emotional life and a programming glitch altered their sense of what they were and where they were, so that they remembered Mata Nui as a Great Spirit to be honored and not a robot they were inside of."
    • Psionics is an element in the Matoran universe. Matoran, Toa, and Turaga of the element are female.
    • Element of Psionics:
    Colors: Blue and gold
    Gender: Female
    Prefix: Ce - (pronounced "say")
Matoran Ability: Unable to be mind-controlled or read telepathically -- by studying them, Helryx learned how to shield the minds of the OOMN members from telepathy.
Powers: A Toa of Psionics has the following powers:
    * Telepathy
    * Telekinesis
    * Ability to do a damage-dealing mind blast (mental damage only, not physical)
    * Limited mind control (cannot make someone do something that is against their pre-existing moral code)
    * Creation of illusions -- so lifelike they can be experienced by all five senses, but cannot fool techological systems
    * Ability to mentally mask her presence from bio-mechanical or organic life, but not from technological systems
    • There is at least one Toa of Psionics still alive.
    • The color motif associated with the elemental power of Lightning is blue and white.
    • None of the Bohrok summoned by Krakua at the end of Destiny War survived Teridax's takeover.
    • The spirits of Toa Kaita are formed by the joining of the Toa's spirits and so do not exist when the Toa are not joined.
    • The members of Lesovikk's Toa team did not all originate from the same island.
    • While Vanisher can travel through inter-dimensional space to transport himself from on place to another within his own universe, he cannot actually travel to another dimension and stay there.
    • The Av-Matoran who recovered from light drain likely have not had their mutations repaired yet, but they have rid themselves of the masks the Makuta provided them.
    • The Matoran refugees from Karzahni have been rebuilt and repaired of their injuries or faults. Some have already departed Metru Nui.
    • The Kanohi Tryna's power only works on beings of the Matoran universe.
    • A Matoran's occupation on Metru Nui was generally chosen for him or her.
    • Teridax left Aqua Magna as soon as he felt any internal rebellions were under control.

    BIONICLE 2010
    • The title of the 2010 novel is Journey's End. The first two comics of 2010 coincide with this novel plot-wise.
    • The first comic of 2010 is entitled "Journey's End, Part 1: All That Glitters…" and the second is entitled "Journey's End, Part 2: Rebirth."
    • The Skrall do not have shadow powers.
    • The golden armor was created by the Great Beings. It is not adaptive.
    • All of the pieces of Tahu's golden armor are on Bara Magna, and the armor's power only works when fully assembled.
    • The main story of 2010 does not go inside of the Mata Nui robot for the first half of the year.
    • The prototype robot is 27 million feet tall.

    BARA MAGNA
    • Bara Magna has a seasonal climate.
    • Following the battle at Roxtus, Tuma was imprisoned, but in the confusion afterward, he escaped and is now wandering the desert.
    • Stronius's band of Skrall is only a few dozen strong. This group includes Rock Agori.
    • The large tablet bearing the Scarabax symbol seen behind Mata Nui and Ackar in Challenge of Mata Nui was most likely made by Agori.
    • Previously unemployed Glatorian have probably joined the mega-village.
    • Kiina acts as Ackar's deputy.

    GLATORIAN
    • The body of a Glatorian with elemental powers, being mostly organic as opposed to that of a Toa's, would not survive the stress of creating a nova blast.
    • Gresh won matches in the Great Tournament, but never won the Tournament itself.
    • Malum's old sword looked like Ackar's.
    • Greg would say there are less than 100 Glatorian on Bara Magna.

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The Mata Nui prototype malfunctioned and blew up on account of its unstable power core, the core which was stabilized in the second Mata Nui construct with energized protodermis.
    • The plague tribe's element is Iron. Telluris and Sahmad are orange because they are not wearing their original armor.
    • Mata Nui has not yet reunited Spherus Magna; his current body does not have the sufficient power alone to accomplish it.
    • The "two that must make them one" refers to Mata Nui and Teridax.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE

    STORY SERIALS
    • Despite the scroll's explication that the volcanic chain of Artidax be quelled by the Toa Nuva, the Order of Mata Nui caused the volcano on the island to erupt and kill the Visorak hordes because the Order deemed the Visorak a clear and present danger. [source]
    • Tren Krom can use Lewa Nuva's mask power. [source]
    • Teridax has no intention of destroying the Great Temple because it poses no threat to him, and may be needed for the efficient operation of Metru Nui, which is after all his brain now. [source]
    • Helryx would probably have something close to a Toa Mata build in terms of appearance. [source]
    • Alternate Teridax does not have all the same Rahkshi powers as Makuta in the Matoran universe. Greg says that most likely some of his powers would be similar and some would be different. He still possesses shapeshifting and telepathy. [source]
    • Any Kraata that alternate Teridax would create would be quite different from the ones in the Matoran universe, since they would not be corrupt. [source]
    • Alternate Teridax carries a warhammer. [source]

    ARTAKHA & KARZAHNI
    • Artakha's purpose in the Matoran universe was to create and invent; Karzahni's was to repair things that were broken. [source]
    • The contest between Artakha and Karzahni over the Mask of Creation was also over the right to the occupation Artakha took as creator and inventor. [source]
    • On why the Great Beings made only one Mask of Creation for Artakha and Karzahni to compete for: "Maybe they didn't feel that two were needed. You know, any artist will tell you it is easier to work on your own than to have to collaborate with someone and deal with their creative instincts which might not be the same as your own." [source]
    • On whether Artakha used the Mask of Creation to create Kanohi masks of power: "I tend to think not. You certainly wouldn't need a schematic to make a mask, and while you possibly could make a powered mask out of thin air with the Mask of Creation, if I were Artakha, I wouldn't do that. I think, especially with powered masks, it's something you want to do with your own hands to make sure it comes out right." [source]
    • It is unknown what method the Matoran of Artakha use to make Kanohi. [source]
    • Greg tends to doubt that the Matoran of Karzahni made Kanohi masks. [source]
    • Greg does not necessarily see the Ta-Matoran of Metru Nui as better mask-makers than the Matoran of Artakha. [source]
    • The Nuva symbols were most likely created by Artakha. [source]

    KANOHI
    • Examples of the elemental power of Creation include creating inorganic objects out of thin air and providing (mentally) detailed schematics of a desired creation. [source]
    • Greg is sure that the Mask of Creation was made before the Mask of Life, given how late in the process of Mata Nui's construction the Ignika was created. [source]
    • On whether the Mask of Creation changes shape like the Ignika: "That actually is logical, but I have a different spin on it than what we did with Ignika." [source]
    • Creation is not a Toa element. [source]
    • Time, Life, and Creation are properly considered Legendary mask powers rather than elements. [source]
    • The Great Beings are the only ones with the knowhow to create a Kanohi Olisi. [source]
    • The Toa Hagah's Kanohi turn gray when removed, like normal Kanohi. [source]
    • It would be a redundancy for a Makuta to use a Kanohi Iden, since a Makuta is already able to leave its physical shell. [source]
    • The Kanohi Mahiki's illusions are optical in nature rather than mental like the Makuta's. [source]
    • If a Toa Kaita's multi-powered Kanohi were removed from its face, it would remain a single mask only as long as the Toa Kaita remained merged. [source]

    TOA
    • On Vakama's tendency to receive visions: "Personally, I think it is a glitch in his AI." [source]
    • It is possible that there are other teams of Turaga still working together like Vakama and his group. [source]
    • When the Toa Metru discovered the island of Mata Nui, they were aware by the sky and the sunlight that they had journeyed outside of the Matoran universe. [source]
    • When the Toa Mata combined their elemental powers against Makuta in 2001, they did not create a protodermis cage because they did not do so all at the same exact time. Timing must be precise for the creation of a protodermis cage. [source]
    • On the state of the Toa Mahri's destiny: "It was to save his life, and although Matoro died doing it, they all contributed. Without them, he never gets the mask. And you only become a Turaga if you both fulfill your destiny AND choose to give up your Toa power. In the current situation, choosing to become Turaga would be foolish of them." [source]
    • Toa power can only be deposited in inanimate objects like a Toa stone, not living beings. [source]

    MATA NUI ROBOT
    • It is possible for Mata Nui's camouflage system to form islands of different shapes. [source]
    • Mata Nui's camouflage is on his head only, since the rest of his body is submerged when he is landed. [source]

    OTHER
    • One would have to assume that the Kraawa on Metru Nui was recaptured at some point in the last thousand years. [source]
    • The Makuta were meant to evolve into antidermis so that Teridax would be able to assume control of the Matoran universe robot body. [source]
    • A version of a character in an alternate universe cannot travel into another one where their character is dead or otherwise incapable and take over its destiny in that universe. [source]
    • A mind remains constant in terms of willpower regardless of which body it is in. [source]
    • In terms of mental powers, Makuta has strong mental powers, but Mata Nui has stronger willpower, so Makuta would not be able to break his mind easily. Same with Tren Krom; he has very strong willpower, so Makuta would be taking a risk getting into a mental battle with him. [source]
    • On whether Teridax has properly achieved his destiny by possessing Mata Nui's body: "No. Teridax's destiny was to use the MU while Mata Nui used the third robot the GBs were supposed to build. The prototype was a failed experiment that did not enter into the GB's plan. And the essence of destiny is that it is, as the word implies, a destination -- often, how you get there may vary, but what matters is that you get there." [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • The incapacity to create new things on Bara Magna is not the result of an artificial process like the destruction of the Mask of Creation in the Matoran universe; it is the result of the historical challenges Bara Magna's society has faced. [source]
    • The sun-rock referenced in the name of the sun-rock dragon simply refers to a rock that gets bleached by the fact that the sun beats down on it all day. [source]
    • The female Rock Agori are still living with the Rock tribe, since they do not have the powers of female Skrall and present no need for them to be exiled. [source]
    • Greg supposes that the opinion of the Sisters of the Skrall toward non-Rock Tribe members with contempt same as those within the main tribe do. [source]
    • Leader class Skrall led warriors in the field during the Core War. [source]

    BIONICLE 2010
    • The Ignika is inside the robot that Mata Nui is inhabiting, so it is not going to be making another body for itself. [source]
    • The Toa Nuva can access their Suva while on Bara Magna. [source]
    • Tahu, devolved into a Toa Mata, would no longer be able to form a Toa Kaita with the other Toa Nuva. [source]
    • The Ignika will be able to evolve Tahu back into a Toa Nuva. [source]
    • The golden armor has a very specific use, though this use is not specific to any particular situation or purpose. It does not enhance Tahu's fire ability. [source]
    • Mata Nui enables the inhabitants of Bara Magna and the Matoran universe to communicate with each other. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • Greg will likely describe Artakha's appearance in the next chapter of Reign of Shadows. [source]
    • There are future chapters planned for Reign of Shadows, at least until the end of March. [source]
    • Greg believes the first chapter of Journey's End will be released in mid-April. [source]
    • On the new serial featuring a new Toa team: "What is holding that up is I cannot write a serial about six new Toa without six new names, so until I have an approved name list, I can't work on this." [source]
    • Story serials are the only medium through which Greg plans to write for this year. [source]
    • Greg thinks there may be a far-off, bird's eye view of the Great Beings to be shown later this year. [source]
    • Voporak and the Vahi still have importance in the story. [source]
    • Greg does not think that Takanuva's destiny will be fulfilled by the time the comics are over. [source]
    • On whether Greg will be attending Comic-Con 2010: "No one has talked to me one way or the other yet. In prior years, BIONICLE always paid my travel and expenses for the con, which they would obviously have no reason to do in 2010. Club might want me to go, but my attitude is that I have been there six years in a row and someone else should get the chance to go who hasn't been yet. It's not going to "hurt my feelings" if I don't get to go this year, and frankly, since I am so associated with BIONICLE, it might confuse some kids if I am there and BIONICLE is not." [source]

    BIONICLE 2010
    • The Ignika was able to create the Golden Armor because the materials used to make it were partly organic. [source]
    • The lava plain onto which Tahu thought he walking when he exited the Matoran universe was an illusion caused by the Ignika. It was supposed to be a lava plain of the island of Mata Nui, meant to put Tahu in a comfortable setting. The Ignika also never left its place in the prototype robot -- what Tahu saw of the Ingika was also an illusion. [source]
    • Mata Nui enabled the inhabitants of the Matoran universe to communicate with those of Bara Magna through some special power of his. [source]
    • Teridax could have survived his blow to the head if he had known it was coming by fleeing the body. He did not, however, know it was coming and was caught possessing a body which then got killed, and he was therefore killed with it. [source]
    • Greg would assume that some might have been killed when Teridax took the blow to his head. [source]
    • Matoran universe's impact upon the surface of Bara Magna caused an event like the Great Cataclysm within. [source]
    • The Matoran universe outside of Metru Nui was able to remain undamaged from Teridax's fall because it took a few seconds for the robot's gravity stabilizers to power down, affording its innards enough protection to survive the fall intact. [source]
    • On the reason for Mata Nui's withdrawal from society: "Basically, because if you think about what happened on Spherus Magna, everyone was looking to the ELs for leadership. When the ELs said go to war, everyone went, regardless of what a stupid idea it was. Mata Nui does not want the people of SM to be dependent on him for direction. He wants them to be an independent people who can solve their own problems without "big brother" there to do it for them." [source]
    • Mata Nui is currently restoring his energies and remaining dormant. He is conscious but not active. [source]

    BIONICLE STARS
    • If Takanuva were to wear a different Kanohi, its color would turn gold. [source]
    • On whether Takanuva has changed his coloration back to normal: "For the moment, I am going to have to say no, only because if post-Makuta comics ever get made in the coming year, the artist would be working off the 2008 set or the 2009 set, as he does not have access to the 2003 set." [source]
    • Greg doubts that Tahu will continue to wear the Golden Armor now that its power has been expended. [source]
    • Were Tahu to step down, Kopaka would be second in line to lead the Toa Nuva, and probably Gali would be third. [source]

    POST-BIONICLE 2010
    • On what the new society on Spherus Magna will do with villains such as the Barraki and the Dark Hunters: "Well, they would have to capture them first. It's a big planet with a lot of places to hide, so odds are the 'villains' will disappear until they want to be found." [source]
    • It will be easy for Nektann and his Skakdi to claim some part of Spherus Magna to live in, since it is a big place and no one is looking for them. [source]
    • On Ahkmou's fate: "Oh, this is an easy one -- if you were Ahkmou, what would you do? I would find myself a bunch of Agori who don't know who I am and hang out with them. And I am sure that is what he is doing. Remember, the new society does not mean everyone lives together in the same city -- it's a big planet, people are going to scatter, and Ahkmou can easily get lost someplace where MU inhabitants won't run into him." [source]
    • Karzahni is still alive. [source]
    • The Shadowed One is still alive. [source]
    • As things stand now, the Matoran would need to salvage equipment from the Matoran universe and find a way to make it operational in order to be able to reproduce on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • Krukua's message to Vakama in the past is currently part of future storyline. [source]
    • The Bahrag will be able to escape the Matoran universe; they are otherwise in danger of being unable to survive in its dead-state environment. They are not aware that Mata Nui's mission has been completed or even what his mission is. [source]
    • The Bohrok will remain inside their nests. Their dormant Krana will be able to survive, as always. [source]
    • The Bahrag will leave the MU and relocate to Spherus Magna, somewhere. The Bohrok are asleep, so the shutdown of the robot will not affect them since they do not require heat, light or air in this state. [source] [source]
    • Greg would assume that the Dark Hunters and the Order of Mata Nui will continue to exist in some form. [source]
    • The prisoners of the Pit will need to be relocated from the Matoran universe if they are to survive. [source]
    • The inhabitants of Xia will most likely stick together and establish their own enclave somewhere. [source]
    • With no Makuta to control them, all surviving Rahkshi will become wild. Those Rahkshi who have escaped the Matoran universe have all scattered. [source] [source]
    • On government on the new Spherus Magna: "Right now, I am inclined to think that a global government won't happen. If you think about it, it was the governing body -- the Element Lords -- who were the problem the last time." [source]
    • On Mata Nui's eventual return: "I see Mata Nui as going the King Arthur route -- someday, he could return at the hour of his people's greatest need." [source]
    • Although Umbra would be able to survive in the Matoran universe's sterile state, he will probably emigrate to Spherus Magna and seek out wherever the Ignika is being kept. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • On why the Great Beings preserved the concept of gender in the Matoran universe: "There is no biological reproduction inside the MU. However, there are psychological differences between men and women, and you see that in the female vs. male characters in the MU. The GBs wanted that balance. Look at Metru Nui -- the males tend to be the crafters and laborers, while most of the scholars and teachers are in Ga-Metru. Gali was traditionally the peacemaker in her team." [source]
    • "Kra" is the Matoran prefix for the element of Shadow. [source]
    • The air of the Matoran universe was always the same as that of the Spherus Magna, as evidenced by the fact that its inhabitants are able to breathe on Spherus Magna. [source]

    TERIDAX'S REIGN
    • Teridax did not unleash shadow leeches on the Matoran during his reign over the Matoran universe. [source]
    • Teridax killed the Makuta he had held captive to mass-produce Kraata once he had acquired enough Kraata from them. [source]
    • After being teleported to the southern island chains, Keetongu decided to go on a crusade of his own separate from Axonn and Brutaka to do deal with Teridax's takeover. This crusade of his has since become irrelevant. [source]
    • Takanuva's plan to have Nuparu tinker with the teleportation device on Destral in order to evade Teridax's takeover met with no results. [source]
    • The Turaga were kept in a single cell when Teridax imprisoned them in the Coliseum. [source]
    • Ahkmou ordered that statues of Teridax be put all over Metru Nui of his own volition. He had any existing statues of Toa removed. [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • On how Gali was ever able to control water that was not liquid protodermis: "That was actually dealt with in story. We showed a Toa -- I don't recall if it was Gali or Nokama -- having to learn to master non-protodermis water, because there were subtle differences." [source]
    • Artakha would be able to craft a Kanohi Nuva version of any mask power. [source]
    • Greg would assume that the Piraka received their primary weapons from the Dark Hunters' armory. [source]
    • The Dark Hunter Vanisher cannot transport people along with him. There are others of Vanisher's species. [source]
    • The intelligence of organic Kanohi is more primitive than that of Krana. [source]
    • A Toa's spirit star is made of energy. [source]
    • On the distinction between the infection of Kanohi by Kraata and infection by antidermis: "Well, the infection from 2001 was caused by kraata infecting masks and thus putting the wearer under Teridax's control. The 2006 infection, however, made the infected susceptible to ANYONE's control, not just Makuta's, so there was a difference in degree." [source]
    • Nikila, Krakua, Jovan, Dume, Lesovikk, Lhikan, Tuyet, and Nidhiki each had the same masks he or she had worn as Matoran when they were Toa. [source] [source] [source]
    • The blades which destroyed anything they touched which the Zyglak were seen to be using in the Cord had been stolen from someone else. [source]
    • Zyglak have their own language. [source]
    • When the refugees from Karzahni and Karda Nui came to Metru Nui, they scattered throughout the city. [source]
    • Vican went to Metru Nui with the other refugees from Karda Nui. He has decided not to have his appearance undone, since he wants to remind himself of the mistake he made in choosing to ally with the Makuta. Vican will most likely deal with this guilt by trying to work harder and help others more. [source]
    • The water drunk on the island of Mata Nui was pumped from underground via wells, meaning it was liquid protodermis. The ocean water was generally not suitable for drinking. [source]
    • The Avohkah are considered Rahi. They were created as a result of the processes being used to ready Karda Nui for operation. [source]
    • The Dweller in the Deep was created by a Makuta. [source]

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The reason Bara Magna was never seen in the sky on Aqua Magna is because Aqua Magna's rotational spin was such that one side always faced away from Bara Magna, like our moon and the Earth. [source]
    • The large swooshes flanking Spherus Magna are made of gas and dust. [source]
    • The swooshes around Spherus Magna were probably disrupted by the passage of the moons. [source]
    • Spherus Magna is probably not a perfect sphere now, since pieces of its moons fragmented off during their descent. [source]
    • Glatorian probably number in the thousands taking all of Spherus Magna into account, and the Agori in the tens of thousands. [source]
    • The name of the sun in Spherus Magna's planetary system is Solis Magna. [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • On the arrival of Lewa Nuva and company on Bota Magna: "They are in the main universe. Remember, Vezon got time froze and then heard the voice of the GB -- we never said the GB was in the alternate universe. Certainly beings who could invent something like the Olmak (or invent something that could invent that) and something that could basically stop time would be capable of cross-dimensional communication." This Great Being wanted Vezon to retrieve Helryx, Tuyet, Brutaka, etc. because he hopes that they have the power to free him, since Vezon does not. [source] [source]
    • Greg will probably give a name to the imprisoned Great Being in Reign of Shadows. [source]
    • Teridax did not want Lewa Nuva to be teleported into space with the others because he is able to create air and could allow them to survive. [source]
    • Sahmad's Tale extends past Teridax's defeat, since Teridax is not relevant to Sahmad. [source]
    • Greg hopes to assign a name to the new villain created by the Skakdi from energized protodermis in Reign of Shadows. [source]
    • The new Toa Team featured in the upcoming serial exists as a team as a result of the aftermath of the Journey's End story. These Toa come from other Toa teams or from working alone. [source]

    Lots of good stuff!

    BARA MAGNA
    • There were more rivers on Bara Magna at one time, though there were never any oceans.
    • Villages in 2009 will have proper names.
    • The villages being shown in 2009 are the only tribes on Bara Magna, at least as far as Greg is concerned.
    • In most cases, Agori tribes have leaders that are also Agori.
    • The masks and helmets worn on Bara Magna are marks of status, in some cases, but they do not have mask powers.
    • Each Glatorian/Agori's mask/helmet is of a unique shape.
    • In general, new Glatorian masks/helmets are not made now. Old ones may be patched or repaired, but new ones are not being made. The Agori are very good at patching/repairing/slapping parts together, pretty lousy at making anything new.
    • Glatorian ride on mounts called sand stalkers.
    • Agori can ride sand stalkers, but generally use motorized or animal-drawn vehicles instead.
    • Agori and Glatorian have the same life spans as Matoran and Toa. Not all of the inhabitants of Bara Magna have this same life span.
    • Greg, on storytelling on Bara Magna: "I am not really incorporating the storytelling thing in, simply because legends are not a big part of this culture. This is not an optimistic, "someday things will get better" bunch like the Turaga and Matoran were. These are people struggling every day to survive in a harsh world, and being very practical and down to earth about it."
    • We are probably not going to get a term like "Rahi" for wildlife on Bara Magna.
    • Greg, on reproduction on Bara Magna: "I really haven't decided how new beings come into being, but no, that is no longer taboo. In fact, it is established in story early on that Gresh is considerably younger than some of the other Glatorian."
    • One can be of the Glatorian's species but not fight as a Glatorian.
    • Greg considers the Bone Hunters to be a species related to the Rock tribe.
    • The Rock tribe has the most Glatorian (more than the Vorox, so therefore over 50).
    • Only Tuma can grant a Skrall a name; it is otherwise forbidden, most likely even for nicknames.
    • There will be no distinction between the main Skrall in set and the others.
    • Skrall, Vorox and Zesk are representatives of larger species, of which there are multiple members. The other sets are all individual characters, not part of multiples. Skrall, Vorox, and Zesk are all sapient.
    • Vorox don't participate in the social system. That doesn't mean they never fight in an arena -- there is one they fight in, sometimes -- but they have no village or arena of their own. Post-disaster, the Vorox and the Zesk regressed socially to being not much more than beasts.
    • The Zesk and the Vorox look different because they have gone through a lot of changes in the last 100,000 years or so.
    • Zesk were once Agori, like the other villagers, albeit physically a bit different -- and Vorox more like other Glatorian. Post-disaster, they regressed and have become little more than beasts.
    • The Zesk and Vorox do retain some intelligence.
    • No Zesk or Vorox we will see will vary in appearance.
    • Greg would say there are more than 50 Vorox.
    • Vorox normally do not properly fight as Glatorian, because they don't follow the same social structure the other tribes do -- Vorox are not much more than beasts at this point. There is an arena they fight in at times, but not by choice, and it doesn't belong to them.
    • The Vorox and Zesk do not have the same spoken language as the other Agori and Glatorian, although they can manage a broken version of it.
    • Greg would assume Zesk and Vorox have names they call each other in their own language.
    • There are mostly groups of Vorox and Zesk.
    • The arena the Vorox fight in belongs to a specific group.
    • The "disaster" that heralded the regression of the Vorox and Zesk is also what caused the disappearance of some of the rivers on Bara Magna.
    • Tarduk's claws are separate weapons.
    • Exiled from his fire tribe for crimes in the arena, Malum wanders the wastes, challenging other Glatorian for his own gain. Armed with flame claws and a spiked Thornax launcher, he is the last being a Glatorian wants to meet.
    • Raanu is not allied with Malum.
    • Gresh is not necessarily the youngest Glatorian in existence, though he is the youngest of the Glatorian encountered next year.
    • If you are in terrible danger, Strakk will gladly ride to your rescue, fight off your enemies, and save your life ... provided you have agreed to payment terms first. If not, he will just as gladly ride right past you.
    • There are rules for Glatorian fighting in arenas, and depending on the rule and how badly one disobeys it, one can wind up exiled to the wastelands.
    • Agori fight beside Glatorian in certain arena matches.
    • There are friendships between Agori/Glatorian of separate tribes.
    • Especially among Glatorian, friendships are accepted and expected. And Agori friendships, while a little less common except among traders, etc. are no crime either. These villages are in competition for resources, but they are not at war with each other.
    • "Agori" was based on the Latin word agri, meaning farm.
    • In their language, Agori would mean "villager."
    • Greg interprets "Bara Magna" to mean "Great Barren."
    • All of the canister sets appear in the movie. Some have prominent roles in early story, not so much in later story, and vice versa.
    • Tarduk might not be animated for the movie.
    • Greg: "I can tell you that you will see a difference between the portrayal of Gresh in early story and in the movie -- neither is wrong. It happens for two reasons -- Gresh, in the movie, is a supporting character and works well for that -- in the early story, he is a main character, and I thought his characterization would not work as well for a main character. And by the second half of the year, I think he has relaxed a little bit."

    GREAT BEINGS
    • The expediency of Mata Nui's creation ties into the catastrophe on the Great Beings' homeworld that the Energized Protodermis Entity mentioned.
    • Mata Nui was not created in order to find something, but he is part of a larger plan of the Great Beings, one that Teridax is not advancing.
    • Mata Nui was created on the Great Beings' home planet, at the Great Beings' fortress.
    • The Great Beings were breaking new ground when creating the nanotech AI to allow Mata Nui's body to function and so did not know how sophisticated the culture of the Matoran, etc. was going to turn out to be.
    • The Shattering occurred after Mata Nui's completion.
    • The Great Beings neither started nor fought in the war fought over energized protodermis.
    • Energized protodermis affects beings outside the Matoran universe as well, since it originated outside of it.
    • No inhabitant of Bara Magna has personally met a Great Being.
    • The Great Beings' home world has a name. The Great Beings do not call it Paradise; that is what Matoran legends referred to it as.
    • The Great Beings' homeworld was not necessarily unlivable after the energized protodermis war.

    MATA NUI
    • The Great Beings created the first Av-Matoran, started the construction of Mata Nui, and the Matoran finished him off. The last work was done from within Mata Nui's body. The Great Beings created the Ignika, the scroll in the Great Temple, and the Krana all before Mata Nui's completion.
    • Greg: "Great Spirit is the name given by the Matoran to the being who controls their universe. It is a "job title" if you will, and a term of honor, which is why even though Makuta controls the universe now, the Matoran would not call him that. So no, Mata Nui would not still be considered a Great Spirit, since he does not have the powers of one anymore."
    • Mata Nui was not created on Bara Magna and was never there.
    • The stars above Metru Nui are visible signs of the electrical activity of Mata Nui's mind -- they are his thoughts, basically.
    • It's very reasonable to assume that Mata Nui is considerably bigger than the Great Beings are.
    • Mata Nui had the capability to be all-knowing in the Matoran universe.
    • Mata Nui was supposed to know the true meaning of the UDD symbol.
    • Mata Nui is aware of his faults.
    • Mata Nui's form may have been modeled after the Toa Mata, since they were created before his completion.
    • As the returning character, Mata Nui is one who has never had the opportunity to have friends, never had to physically fight for anything, never been less than godlike in his powers.

    SERIALS
    • Greg guesses that Chirox named the Visorak and that the Visorak applied their own meaning ("stealers of life") to the word.
    • Greg assumes Takanuva's flight virus will be wearing off soon.
    • The Makuta Miserix interrogated and absorbed was not one we are familiar with.
    • In the alternate dimension Mazeka and Vultraz stumble into, Matoran are considered Toa and vice-versa. The "Melding" Macku mentions is significant in that it is the opposite of "Shattering."
    • Greg is sure there is a way to destroy energized protodermis, but the trick is whether or not the characters discover it.
    • The Toa on Jovan's team who wore the Olmak was killed by a Makuta or someone in the employ of a Makuta.
    • Axonn is immune to antidermis.
    • Trinuma's horns are part of his mask.
    • Acid blades like the one Vultraz once carried are not common.

    GENERAL

    • It would be possible for Spiriah's changes in a Skakdi to be undone through reverse engineering.
    • For at least part of Legends of Metru Nui, Mata Nui was still in space.
    • Greg, on how important Takanuva's destiny is compared to Teridax's: "Time will tell."
    • A Toa turned evil would no longer be considered Toa. "Toa" means "hero" -- if you are corrupt, you're not a hero anymore.
    • Brutaka got his Olmak from the Order of Mata Nui.
    • Teridax's Plan did not call for the Toa Mata's canisters to malfunction.
    • The island north of Keetongu's homeland is the one where Carapar ended the siege.

    -Toa Hagah Teams
    • The Brotherhood of Makuta chose the members of their Toa Hagah teams from existing Toa teams, and the Toa's masks were presented to them by the members of their former teams as a badge of honor.
    • Chirox, Spiriah, and Tridax had Toa Hagah teams. Icarax, Krika, Gorast, and Kojol did not.
    • When Spiriah was exiled, his Toa Hagah were transferred to other duties.
    • All Toa Hagah teams carried weapons like Norik and co.: special armor, Rhotuka shields, and spears.

I'd like to thank those people who have told me they read the Farsthey Feed and like what I'm doing -- that's very encouraging!

    MAKUTA TERIDAX
    • Teridax could not have succeeded had Mata Nui not died. Had his efforts on Voya Nui and Mahri Nui failed to delay the Toa long enough for Mata Nui to die, he would have had to amend the Plan, just as he did after the Metru's victory in Metru Nui.
    • Just as it takes time to install a new operating system on a computer, it takes time for a new spirit to fully be prepared to control a universe. Since Mata Nui was also asleep when he was brought back to life, Teridax was able to have the time to replace Mata Nui's spirit.
    • Teridax banished Mata Nui's spirit into the Ignika by power he acquired from Mata Nui's body. Teridax would have had to put Mata Nui's spirit in something that he could banish from the universe, since it would have been too dangerous to have Mata Nui that close by. He also locked his spirit in the Ignika and expelled it so it would not turn black upon his takeover. Both Mata Nui's spirit and the Mask of Life were threats to him.
    • Greg: "Mata Nui is clever, knows every detail of how his old body works, and is the rightful owner of that body -- it makes him too dangerous to have around. Outside of the other Makuta, who are now dead, and the Great Beings, Mata Nui is the only one who would know how to shut that body down."
    • Teridax wanted to strike down the other Makuta so there would be no one left with knowledge of how to attack the Great Spirit. "Trust" was not in the Makuta vocabulary. What the other Makuta expected was that Teridax would be busy doing Great Spirit-like things and would need other members of the Brotherhood to manage the day to day running of things -- which was a very practical idea. But Teridax decided the threat to his safety outweighed the practical aspects of the idea.
    • Only the Great Beings or Mata Nui could put a stop to Teridax's Plan. No one in the existing Matoran universe can.
    • Teridax's controlling Mata Nui's body jeopardizes Mata Nui's mission.
    • The whole Matoran universe has been made aware of Makuta's triumph. The Toa, Turaga, and Matoran in Metru Nui now know Teridax's name.
    • As ruler of the universe, Teridax can kill anyone with a stray thought, although there still needs to be some means involved with the actual killing. Teridax can also now create new beings as Mata Nui could, as well as set their destinies.
    • Teridax's Plan does not end with taking over the universe, but rather moves on to bigger things. Now that Teridax is in Mata Nui's form, he is ambitious enough to traverse to other worlds and attempt domination on an even larger scale.

    MATA NUI
    • The name Mata Nui means "Great Spirit."
    • The Matoran universe, which is the body of Mata Nui himself, is an artificial construct, and it has not always been on the oceanic planet with which we are familiar. The Great Beings created Mata Nui in their home world and sent him on his way. The record the Toa Hagah found beneath Metru Nui was made before Mata Nui left the Great Beings' world. Mata Nui was not aware of these inscriptions.
    • Mata Nui is a living machine -- the beings inside him are the nanotech who help the machine to work. Mata Nui is fully mechanical and does not need to eat. The Matoran universe extends throughout Mata Nui's whole body. Within the Matoran universe, artificial gravity and stabilizers keep things on an even keel for the Matoran, same as they do on a starship. So far as Greg knows, Mata Nui is the only one of his kind.
    • During the Great Disruption, Mata Nui was weakened and slowed.
    • Mata Nui travels to a new planet fairly often. Mata Nui gathers information from the worlds he visits by means of sensors. Mata Nui does not send the information gathered from his observations to the beings in the Red Star.
    • Mata Nui was flying around in space when he was attacked by the Makuta virus. Mata Nui did more than fall over when the Great Cataclysm occurred; he crashed into the ocean from outer space. Mata Nui was observing the endless ocean planet before he fell, which is why he was close enough to be drawn in by its gravity. Mata Nui was also going somewhere important when he crashed. The oceanic planet we are familiar with will also be very important, just as important as Bara Magna is next year. It will be given a name.
    • The island of Mata Nui was shaped like Metru Nui because that is the template Mata Nui's system had for creating the shape of an island. The telescope is deployed whenever Mata Nui lands in order to monitor the Red Star. Greg believes the telescope's purpose is to be synchronized with the Red Star's movements.
    • Mata Nui's body has powers that pertain to the world outside his own body. He does not have a light power. Mata Nui has a greater purpose than that of maintaining the Matoran universe. This mission does not involve energized protodermis. The Three Virtues map is connected to Mata Nui's mission.
    • Mata Nui normally has yellow eyes instead of red. Mata Nui's eyes are red in the Mata Nui poster because it shows Teridax in possession of the body. Mata Nui's body has red eyes as long as Teridax is actively controlling things.
    • Mata Nui's consciousness now overrides Ignika's. Mata Nui can control the Ignika's powers, but Mata Nui's spirit itself pretty much has no power. Mata Nui cannot direct the Ignika's course as it flies through space. The Ignika is still cracked.
    • Greg doubts that Mata Nui would know a Great Being if he found one.
    • It would be impossible for Mata Nui to get back into the Matoran universe without Terdiax's noticing. Mata Nui has no experience in close combat.

    BARA MAGNA
    • Bara Magna is neither the name of a universe or an island; it is the planet.
    • The Matoro lookalike on the back cover of Comic 15 is the returning character.
    • The new heads for the Agori and Glatorian sets have a dual-orientation feature.
    • Bara Magna will have organic creatures.
    • The events of 2009 will affect the Matoran universe.
    • There is no protodermis on Bara Magna, since it is not an artificial world.
    • The 2009 characters would not recognize the name Mata Nui.

    GENERAL

    -Metru Nui
    • The vehicles are in Metru Nui right now. Artakha will most likely teleport the vehicles back into the Codrex.
    • It won't take Takanuva that long to return to his old size. Takanuva's destiny is not yet completed.

    -Storyline
    • Greg sees it as making sense that Krika would be the Makuta of the northern continent, since then it would not be a stretch for him to oversee Zakaz additionally after Spiriah's exile. In this case Krika would be overseer of the northern part of the northern continent, since Gorast oversees the Tren Krom Peninsula.
    • A member of Jovan's team wore an Olmak, which allowed them to escape Karda Nui ahead of the storm.
    • Tridax worked on the Tridax pods with Mutran.
    • Trinuma was not a Hand of Artakha member. He has been an Order member for quite a long time.
    • It took the Toa Nuva a couple days total since their arrival in Karda Nui to reawaken Mata Nui.
    • The kind of energy in Karda Nui vaporized the swamp in very short order.

    -Toa Mata/Nuva
    • It would certainly be logical for the Toa Mata's bodies to have been based off of that of Mata Nui, but that is not all they were based off of.
    • Adaptive armor changes very quickly. It uses sensors to detect what environment it should adapt to.

    -Real Life
    • The next Bionicle web update will have another new CG animation. The last update will be a flash teaser for 2009.
    • Kelly McKiernan (Binkmeister) test built and named the 2009 model Skirmix.

    COMMENTARY
Many people are still asking about the place beneath Metru Nui to which Teridax traveled in order to replace Mata Nui's spirit, but I think it's obvious enough for us to guess exactly what it is: Mata Nui's kernel of consciousness. While Metru Nui is Mata Nui's brain, this location buried deep beneath its surface is the physical locus of his mind's capacity to be aware. It is this place to which one would need to go in order to enter his mind in the way that Teridax intended to.

Also, on the subject of Teridax's destiny: we know that Mata Nui determines the destinies of the beings he creates, and that to this rule Teridax is no exception. Greg has made it somewhat ambiguous whether destiny in the Matoran universe is inescapable or whether it can be denied and changed. We seem to be sure that destiny is not totally immutable, however, and Greg has hinted that Teridax may have fulfilled the destiny Mata Nui assigned him simply at the wrong time or in the wrong way. So this leaves us asking: what in the world was Teridax meant to do? Well, we know that as things have so far played out, Teridax killed Mata Nui, knocked his spirit out of his own body, and seized control of the Matoran universe itself -- and all of the responsibility of maintiaining it. Here's the quintessential beauty of the Great Beings' design of the Matoran universe -- even after all hope is lost and the villain has achieved total domination, it is imperative that life must go on. The Matoran cannot live without Teridax, but neither can he without them. There is no annihilation. It is a guaranteed quality of the Matoran universe that as long as beings submit to the essential instinct of self-preservation, the Matoran and their ruler will survive.

What if Mata Nui ever needed a hiatus? What if he needed someone else to accomplish something he couldn't or wouldn't? Whom would he turn to? Teridax may very well still be playing Mata Nui's game, not his own. After all, as Mata Nui flies helplessly through space, we hear him uttering with certainty: "I will return."

Greg also seems strangely secretive about the origin of the organic birds that migrated to Mata Nui, saying that that has yet to be revealed. Reya came up with the golden idea that the birds came from a land Mata Nui crushed when he fell into the endless ocean. The endless ocean was, in fact, not always endless. And, of course, there are many storyline possibilities when concerning a lost land.

    BIONICLE STARS
    • Takanuva's new weapons are called "twin light staffs." [source]
    • Upon his devolution, Tahu's Nuva symbol continues to exist, simply becoming inactive. [source]
    • A heat vision Rahksi's staff needs to remain intact for its power to work. [source]

    BIONICLE 2010
    • The Ignika communicated telepathically with Mata Nui to help him master control of the prototype robot. [source]
    • Just before Mata Nui took over the prototype robot, Click left to stay with the other Glatorian. [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • No Visorak or Exo-Toa have been deployed on Bara Magna. [source]
    • Berix's coin is made of exsidian mined from the White Quartz Mountains. [source]
    • The chamber into which Mata Nui descended in Journey's End Chapter 1 was an antechamber to the Great Volcano. [source]
    • The underground lab of the Great Beings in Tajun is the site where the Element Lords were given their power. [source]
    • The snakes molded on Vastus's armor depict the Dune Snakes from which he extracts snake venom. [source]

    GREAT BEINGS
    • On why the Great Beings modified the Skopio: "The GBs do stuff like that. They are all about working with the raw material they have." [source]
    • Angonce may well have worked on the Ignika project. [source]
    • Heremus was indeed one of the Great Beings to which Mazeka and Vultraz were presented in the Melding universe. [source]
    • All of the Great Beings worked on the construction of Mata Nui. [source]
    • On Angonce's personality: "I see Angonce as a very moral person. I think he felt a great deal of responsibility for his creations and any harm they might do. He's the type who would feel he had to make up for things like that, and so was sort of the conscience of the GBs." [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • On what Toa of Magnetism can do that Toa of Iron cannot: "Quite a bit. For example, a Toa of Magnetism could use his power to allow himself to fly. A Toa of Iron cannot. A Toa of Magnetism can form a magnetic force barrier around himself that can repel physical attack, yet he can see through it and still move. A Toa of Iron could form a metal wall around himself to do the same thing, but he can't see through it, can't move with it up, and it can be melted. Etc., etc. Magnetism affects metal, but it is way different than a power of metal." [source]
    • Ancient, Jerbraz, Tobduk, Johmak, and Trinuma were none of them Hand of Artakha members. [source]
    • Greg would say there are easily 100,000 or more Matoran living in the Matoran universe. [source]
    • Krekka's and Sidorak's species have female members. [source]
    • The purpose behind the Great Beings' programming the Blade Burrowers to dig tunnels in the shape of the Three Virtues symbol was to remind Mata Nui of his mission. [source]
    • Makuta have greater willpower than Toa and so their elemental power is probably stronger. [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • Keetongu is currently battling the resurgent Visorak. [source]
    • Voporak has not yet devlivered the Vahi to the Shadowed One. [source]
    • The Toa Hagah are currently with the resistance. [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • The beings who captured Sahmad are not of a species we have met before. Greg doubts that they are the former occupants of Roxtus. [source]
    • The gold-colored fusion created on Zakaz gives himself his own name. [source]
    • On the new Toa team serial: "If I feel six new Toa characters is going to mean not enough time in the story to get to know any of them, then I will do less than six." [source]
    • On why Orde, being a Toa of Psionics, is male instead of female: "Ah, the answer to that one is going to get interesting." "[it's n]ot a typo. Keep reading, it's part of a mystery." "The reason for a male Psionics Toa in what has been said up to now to be an all-female tribe gets revealed later." [source] [source] source]
    • As many Toa of Water as can be spared are moving equipment from Metru Nui. [source]
    • On how Angonce feels about Marendar's escape: "He is not happy about him being loose, it's more senseless slaughter in a planet that has already seen too much of it." [source]
    • On how Orde, Chiara, and Zaria were chosen for their mission despite getting along poorly with each other: "I think they were chosen because they are rule-breakers by nature, and the feeling is that is what's needed for this mission." [source]
    • Onua calls Tahu "Tahu Nuva" out of habit. [source]
    • Greg sees Chiara's personality as individual from those typical of other Toa of Lightning, not necessarily representative of her whole tribe. Moreover, he does not think every Toa of Lighting would have the same personality. [source] [source]
    • The Toa Nuva's history, especially as leaders of the resistance against Teridax, tends to compel more junior Toa to answer them. [source]
    • Zaria originates from a Toa team of his own, although this is not from where he knew his Toa of Iron colleagues. [source]
    • On why the Great Beings chose to prepare a contingency for killing loose Toa rather than loose Makuta: "f the Makuta hadn't betrayed Mata Nui, things would have gone as they were supposed to -- the planet would have been reformed, Mata Nui would have shut down, and the Toa, Makuta etc. would have all shut down too. So the Makuta wouldn't be a threat to anyone." [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE

    HISTORY
    • When Artakha and Karzahni contested for the Mask of Creation, they physically fought each other. [source]
    • Greg believes that the Toa of Jovan's team transformed into Turaga at different times after they completed their mission to save Mata Nui. [source]
    • When the Shadowed One used to do business with the Brotherhood of Makuta, protocol would demand that he meet in person with Teridax, but he could send a messenger such as Ancient if he were dealing with a lesser Makuta. [source]
    • The genocide of Toa of Iron began covertly not long before the events of Legends of Metru Nui, and overtly after the events of Legends of Metru Nui. [source]
    • Greg considered the Mutran Chronicles to represent Mutran's journal. [source]
    • If Mata Nui's mission had run without incident and the entire system shut down, the Great Beings planned to dismantle most likely for use in other projects. [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • On whether Toa of Gravity can create black holes: "Most likely, yes, but that would be something he would be doing by going nova. It's probably not part of his standard powers, simply because it is so dangerous." "It wouldn't be something he would do normally, because for one thing, he would be sucked into it too." [source] [source]
    • On the idea of Fe-Matoran having different colorations depending on region, like Po-Matoran, and also having rusting effects: "I don't have a big problem with that, but I don't think rusting is a good idea. If these are Matoran of Metal, they would put a premium on repairing any damage to their armor. They wouldn't walk around in damaged armor, anymore than a tailor walks around with a hole in his shirt." [source]
    • The Mask of Mutation can undo the effects of Hordika venom, Makuta viruses, and Roodaka's Rhotuka, but not energized protodermis. The mask can also give beings new powers. [source]
    • Johmak most likely wears a helmet rather than a Kanohi. [source]
    • Toa Varian is still on Odina. [source]
    • With the energy storms in the Matoran universe robot ceased, the lightsones in the robot will stop shining. [source]
    • None of the Barraki are Skakdi. [source]
    • On whether any of the Barraki come from species we already are familiar with: "I don't believe so, no. My vision of them was that they were species we had not seen before." [source]
    • The Ta-Koro/Ta-Metru Guard is probably still active. [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • On why the Glatorian were not surprised that Mata Nui knew of the Great Beings: "They were certainly 'famous' on Spherus Magna, so it stands to reason the residents of SM might have believed their fame extended off-planet. After all, the Agori and Glatorian have no idea if the GBs projects might have involved other worlds as well." [source]
    • Greg would say that Malum is older than Strakk. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • On the list of approved names: "I wound up with 23 approved names. Only lost two off the list, and one I got an okay with a caveat." "They are all I am going to have probably for the rest of BIONICLE, so I need to be a little judicious with them. And I may not need a name for the new Toa team -- it is a team that is going to be formed on Spherus Magna, so they have no real need for a naming convention. The whole 'we're the Toa (blank) team' was meant to differentiate teams, but since most Toa will be working with Glatorian now, there won't be other active just-Toa teams for the most part." GREAT BEINGS
    • Great Beings do not wear Kanohi nor are able to use them. [source]
    • Angonce worked on the Ignika project, whereas Heremus did not. Angonce was not one of the two Great Beings who placed the Ignika in the Matoran universe. [source]
    • Neither Angonce nor Heremus worked on the Iron Wolves or Skopio projects. These kinds of modifications were like child's play to the Great Beings -- such projects were more labor-intensive than they were thought-intensive to the point that multiple minds would have been needed to work on them. [source]
    • Heremus helped in the making of the Mask of Creation. [source]
    • The third robot body would have also had Matoran living inside of it. [source]
    • The power source that Mata Nui retrieves from the Valley of the Maze for the prototype robot was intended for the prototype robot and not the third robot, since the third robot would have been designed along the same lines as the Mata Nui construct and would not have worked with that kind of power source. [source]
    • The Great Beings did indeed call Spherus Magna home; they were not space travelers or aliens. [source]
    • On why the Great Beings built the Matoran to be biomechanical: "Well, they had tried making all organic life, and that didn't work out all that well, so next they tried bio-mechanical. Building robots wasn't any challenge for them, they wanted to create a new form of life." Tren Krom was one such all-organic experiment. [source]
    • The Vorox and Zesk were not angry with the alterations the Great Beings made on them; they were being given weapons to help them survive in the desert. The Great Beings' alterations are not responsible for the Sand Tribe's devolution. [source]
    • The Great Beings mutated only a few Vorox and Zesk at first. When the project was a success, they felt compelled to perform the procedures on all the rest of the tribe so the mutants would not end up dominating the tribe or being murdered by the others out of jealousy. [source]
    • On why the Great Beings isolated and exiled Tren Krom: "I think because they worried about with him what they should have worried about with Makuta -- that he would grow jealous of Mata Nui, the being who had taken his job, and pose some threat. Not an unreasonable thing to think, really." [source]
    • On the Great Beings' intentions toward giving the inhabitants of the Matoran universe the ability to feel ambition: "They were given artificial intelligence and the ability to learn -- and all sentient means is they can feel sensations, it actually has nothing to do with being able to reason (that's "sapient"). What they did not expect from the bio-mechanical beings was emotion -- but they had made Tren Krom before they made the MU, so they already knew he had emotions, something they thought had something to do with his being organic as opposed to primarily mechanical. It was a problem they thought they had fixed when they made the Matoran." [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • There is probably some hierarchy to the society of the Sisters of the Skrall, since they do have a leader. [source]
    • The different hierarchies of the female Skrall have no physiological differences as in the male hierarchy. [source]
    • On why not everyone on Bara Magna regressed like the Sand Tribe after the Shattering: "Basically, for the same reason that if you take 12 people and put them on a desert island with no supplies, some people will rise to the occasion and others will crack up. The Zesk and the Vorox did not have a social or psychological structure that could stand up to a crisis like this. As for Sahmad and Telluris, Sahmad lived part of the time in Roxtus, and Telluris had his hate and his desire for revenge to hang onto (and still went a bit nuts)." [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • Lesovikk was friends with Idris and Sarda even before he became a Toa. [source]
    • The Great Beings based the explosive Madu fruit of the Matoran universe off the Thornax of Bara Magna. [source] [source]
    • As long as the Matoran universe's artificial gravity stabilizers are working up to capacity, its inhabitants cannot tell when the construct arrives on or departs a planet or otherwise moves around. [source]
    • A Toa must already be wearing a Kanohi in order to have remote access to a Suva. [source]
    • The Rahi Nui was created on Destral. [source]
    • In addition to giving a Makuta energy, a Makuta's mask helps contain his or her antidermis. [source]
    • Pohatu Nuva will always have an orange coloration now, since the adaptive armor does not change color. [source]
    • On the purpose of species in the Matoran universe besides Matoran: "They all have their role to play. If you think of Matoran as red blood cells, for example, well, your body can't function with just red blood cells. It needs other things besides that. The Vortixx, for example, make things that other species use. The Skakdi are bestial and warlike, but they also live in an important region, and by being so warlike, they keep outside invaders away from that region." The importance of Zakaz has yet to be revealed. [source]

    MATA NUI'S MISSION
    • Q: "Mata Nui's original mission was to find the knowledge to reunite Spherus Magna and then do so with Makuta, correct?" A: "Wrong. He was not seeking knowledge on how to reunite the planet. He knew that already. He was seeking to learn about other cultures so that what happened on Spherus Magna would not happen again after it was restored." [source]
    • The Great Beings did not have any plans for Mata Nui for the time after he would complete his original mission, nor for the inhabitants of the Matoran universe. [source]
    • Mata Nui was fully aware of his mission up until the Great Cataclysm. [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • Artakha's experience using the Mask of Cretaion would not give any more mastery over the Vahi or Ignika, since each legendary mask is different. [source]
    • On whether Teridax now knows the destines of all the inhabitants of the Matoran universe: "I am going to say he does not know their destinies, because my guess is those records got damaged in the crash. Otherwise, wouldn't he already know his own?" [source]
    • In the alternate Spherus Magna universe Vezon was transported into, the Great Beings built the third robot body, and Mata Nui's conscious was transferred over to it as planned. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • Greg's word is that the scene in Bionicle Adventures #3 which depicts heat vision Rahkshi as being able to use their power without holding their staffs and becoming blind immediately after using their power is retconned in light of the current information on the Stars Rahkshi. [source]

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • It would be highly unusual and unlikely were one of the enemy Skakdi or Skrall to make his way into the new society on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • Greg envisions the Sisters of the Skrall as having a black color scheme, with robes of dark brown or faded purple. [source]
    • Agori are subject to heart disease and obesity. [source]
    • Now in possession of all the powers of the Kraata he destroyed, Tahu has become more powerful than he was as a Toa Nuva. [source]

    STORY
    • Greg would guess that the Dreaming Plague wiped out 99.8% of the Iron Tribe. [source]
    • It would have been possible, though difficult, for a Glatorian or Agori to have a marriage with a member from a tribe different from his or her own. [source]
    • On the Rock Agori's role in the Skrall tribe: "Personally, I think the rock Agori saw the Skrall as their only way to survive and be safe, so they followed the Skrall's lead on things." [source]
    • Mata Nui allowed the inhabitants of the Matoran universe to speak and understand Agori, but not vice versa. [source]
    • The characters taken by Vezon to the prison of the Great Being isolated on Bota Magna did not feel the rejoining of Spherus Magna, since the Great Being fortress is insulated against any seismic shock. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • A Toa would be able to store Toa power in an object other than a stone, such as a tool or a weapon. [source]
    • In general, the heat vision power temporarily weakens the user's vision after use, as is the case with the heat vision Rahkshi, Makuta, Hakann, and now Tahu. Users of heat vision can also control how hot the beams are. [source] source
    • According to Greg, it would be possible but highly improbable that anyone would be able to create a replacement set of fully-functional Makuta armor since "creating protosteel that can shapeshift would be beyond the capabilities of 99% of crafters." [source]
    • Greg does not suppose that Toa Kaita can perform nova blasts. [source]
    • The two Glatorian species members who had lived near the Mata Nui robot's consciousness had originally been put there in stasis, to awaken either when it was time to land on Bara Magna or in the event something went wrong with the ship. They awoke when the virus attacked the ship and were killed in the crash. [source]
    • Toa Iruini's healing Rhotuka is designed to cure the physical ailments of living beings. Therefore, it can cure disease or plague and insanity when it is caused by physical ailment, but not mutations by the Pit mutagen, Visorak venom, or infected Kanohi. Iruini cannot use his healing Rhotuka to heal himself. The time it takes for the Rhotuka to heal an injury depends on its severity. [source]
    • In the Matoran universe, Greg would see the difference between a disease and a virus as that a disease would be something that affected organic protodermis, whereas a virus attacked AI. [source]
    • Antidermis is not a form of protodermis. Therefore, the Makuta were the only inhabitants of the Matoran universe not made entirely of protodermis. [source]

    STORY
    • Greg believes that after his meeting with Tren Krom, Mutran understood that the Matoran universe was a giant robot. [source]
    • After the Makuta evolved into antidermis, they mainly used their quick healing ability to heal their allies, since there was no need to use it on themselves. [source]
    • Metru Nui's leadership was determined by the fact that Dume was the only Turaga around and hence the compulsory leader of the city; he was not elected or appointed. In general it was thought that ex-Toa made the most worthwhile leaders of Matoran. A Turaga's authority was essentially absolute; he did not need approval from any other body of government, though he might well have consulted Matoran on issues which he did not know himself as closely. [source]
    • During the Great Cataclysm, some parts of the land inside the Matoran universe may have been temporarily swamped, but none were ever permanently flooded. There were no tsunamis, since the system was designed to prevent that kind of thing. [source]
    • On the rainstorm that occurred on the Toa Metru's return to Metru Nui just before the Great Rescue: "My guess is that was more of a fire prevention system that kicked on as a result of the crash, rather than actual rain." [source]
    • When the Toa Nuva ordered the Matoran of Karzahni to migrate to Metru Nui, all that was needed for them to reach Metru Nui across the silver sea was for one Matoran to make it to Metru Nui with a message from the Toa, then Metru Nui would have sent boats out to get them. [source]
    • When alternate Teridax detected the death of Teridax and of the Matoran universe robot, he was reading Mata Nui's mind to sense what was about to happen. He was able to accomplish this because he has a very powerful mind and because Mata Nui was in relatively close proximity to the Matoran universe. [source]
    • The Barraki could not reach Metru Nui before the fall of Teridax and are now leading their armies out of the Matoran universe. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • The Shadowed One's whereabouts will be revealed in a future serial. [source]
    • With Mata Nui dormant, Lewa Nuva will likely have to learn the Agori language on his own. [source]
    • The character to result from the Who Am I? contest will appear as a character in future serials, and his or her character will be revealed as the story progresses. [source]

    BIONICLE 2010
    • Since the pieces of the Golden Armor are scattered around Bara Magna, Tahu and company will have to search for them. [source]
    • It is safe to assume that the Glatorian will suffer casualties at the hands of the Rahkshi, Skakdi, and Skrall attacks. [source]
    • The Golden Armor does not even get created until Tahu and Takanuva arrive on Bara Magna. [source]

    BIONICLE STARS
    • The chest armor on Tahu's BIONICLE Stars form represents the Toa Mata version of his adaptive armor in default form. The default Toa Nuva version looks like his normal Toa Nuva armor. [source]
    • During the fight between Mata Nui and Teridax, all of the Rahkshi and Skakdi were unleashed at about the same time. [source]
    • The Skrall are only attacking the Glatorian, not fighting the Rahkshi or Skakdi. [source]
    • Tahu is transformed back into a Toa Mata when he is on Bara Magna. [source]
    • As a Toa Mata, Tahu's elemental powers no longer depend on his Nuva symbol. [source]

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The reason that the Great Beings did not create the third robot is not that they did not have the energized protodermis to do it, since one would have to assume that they could just synthesize their own. [source]
    • On why a leader Skrall was chosen to be Element Lord of Rock: "Wouldn't it make sense to choose someone who already had experience as a leader for that job? Skrall have a very rigid caste system -- choosing a non-leader for the job would probably have provoked rebellion." [source]
    • The surviving Iron Agori did not assume the colors of some other known tribe because they knew no one would ever buy it, since the Agori of each of the Tribes tend to know their own members well. Moreover, the Iron Agori would probably not blend in with other tribes' particular customs. [source]

    BOTA MAGNA
    • There are still some Skrall and female Skrall on Bota Magna. [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • Greg estimates there are about 1500 Agori on Bara Magna, counting Zesk and Rock Agori. [source]
    • Baterra do not shapeshift to look like specific individuals. Had baterra been designed to be spies, that would have been a useful power to give them, but they weren't there to get information -- just ambush and destroy. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • With Matoran, the effect of removing one's Kanohi is not instantaneous; there is a time delay before the Matoran starts slipping into a coma, otherwise Matoran could never swap masks to replace damaged ones. If a Matoran's mask is so damaged it no longer functions at all, the Matoran would need to change it within a matter of hours. [source]
    • When the Bohrok cleansed Mata Nui, they most likely retrieved the Krana trapped in the pit near Ga-Koro and returned them to the Bahrag. [source]
    • The Ignika is made of protodermis. [source]
    • In the event of the Vahi's destruction in the Matoran universe, the effect of time losing control would not persist for anyone who could escape the Matoran universe, but logistically this would be impossible for anyone already caught inside. [source]
    • Ancient and The Shadowed One are of the same species. Greg: "Well, you and I are the same species, but probably look very different and may have totally different skills. Every member of a species does not look alike or have exactly the same powers all the time." [source]
    • Gladiator represents a normal specimen of his species. [source]
    • In the case of the Toa Metru's transformation, the Toa Suva activated the Toa stones' ability to unleash the power already inside the Matoran. [source]
    • Prior to the Great Cataclysm, the Toa Mata were known of everywhere, as legends, and especially in Metru Nui, since in the event of a catastrophe, that is where they would show up. [source]
    • It is possible that there are Skakdi of elements other than the original six, barring light and shadow. [source]
    • On Metru Nui, Takua would have worn a different mask, since his mask on Mata Nui was a replacement that never fit right. [source]
    • Greg pictures Lariska's coloration to be blue-green. [source]

    PSIONICS
    • A nova blast of Psionics would probably consist of a massive mental shock. [source]
    • Hakann's mental blasts are an ability of Psionics. [source]
    • It would be most appropriate for a Toa of Psionics to channel a mental blast through a Toa tool. [source]
    • A Toa of Psionic's telepathy is of limited range. [source]

    MAKUTA
    • Of the original 100 Makuta, exactly 15 were female. The other 14 besides Gorast were more likely killed in service than to have sided against Teridax and been eliminated. [source] [source]
    • Makuta cannot preserve a portion of their antidermis in a container as a failsafe for whenever the rest of their substance may become dispersed. [source]
    • The Makuta manufactured their viruses in laboratories. [source]
    • A Makuta cannot posses more than two bodies at a time. [source]
    • When a Makuta shapeshifts, its Kanohi remains part of its form, and its power is still accessible. [source]
    • Miserix's mask is the Mask of Mutation. [source]
    • The Mask of Mutation would be able to mutate someone affected by Roodaka's mutation power a second time in an effort to undo the mutation, but without knowledge of exactly what Roodaka did, it might not necessarily undo all of it. [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • The Makuta from the Melding universe were created in the same manner as those in the main universe. They all had shadow powers at first but expulsed it and became able to tap into their inner elemental light power. [source]
    • The Shadow Takanuva that alternate Teridax and Mazeka have encountered are the same that Tobduk saw on Destral. [source]
    • The Toa Mahri are currently participating in the resistance against Teridax. All Toa are currently participating in this. [source] [source]
    • Lesovikk and Hydraxon are inside the Matoran universe. [source]
    • All of the Shadow Takanuva presumably have a black and gray coloration and basically look alike. [source]
    • Part of the message that Tren Krom transmitted to the Ignika was the need for Tahu to be devolved into a Toa Mata. [source]
    • Sending the message to the Ignika was the only reason for Tren Krom's freedom. [source]
    • Teridax is aware of the events taking place near his consciousness. [source]
    • The green haze which entered the energized protodermis tank in Reign of Shadows #10 was not antidermis. [source]
    • On the end of Reign of Shadows #10: "Note what it said in the story -- that the only way they could KNOW these beings would not die in the EP would be if Teridax told them, which evidently he did. So no, they did not die." [source]
    • On Zaktan's survival: "Lots of things are possible. What's probable may be another matter." [source]
    • The green cloud in Reign of Shadows #10 may in fact be Zaktan... [source] [source]
    • Lewa Nuva was transported into space along with the others at the end of Reign of Shadows #10 (his name was mistakenly omitted). [source]
    • The Toa Mahri are not carrying their Cordak launchers on their current mission, since they are too bulky and make too much noise for a spy mission. [source]
    • Artakha carries a warhammer. [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • Not all of the Toa Mata's colorations were based on those of Glatorian like Ackar, given Pohatu is brown and Vorox are not. [source]
    • The Ignika would not be able to return the Vorox and Zesk back to normal, since their devolution was a psychological one which resulted from environmental stress. [source]
    • Mata Nui could not give an Agori elemental powers. [source]
    • Mata Nui would hypothetically be able to give a Vorox elemental power. [source]
    • The Spear of Fusion is not powerful enough to reunite Spherus Magna. [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • On story plans after Winter 2010: "Right now, I plan to focus on post-MN saga as opposed to doing a lot of flashback work." This story will likely bring us to Bota Magna. [source]
    • It is possible that the story will continue beyond 2011. [source]
    • Greg plans to create a serial about a new Toa team as long as he can get a list of approved names to do it. [source]
    • Greg doubts the Toa in the new story serial will all be from the same homeland. [source]
    • Chapter one of Journey's End will be posted mid-February. [source]
    • The other Toa Nuva besides Tahu do not really appear in Journey's End. [source]
    • Journey's End will have something like 12 chapters. [source]
    • Sahmad's Tale will probably run through the end of March, just as Reign of Shadows. [source]
    • We will see more of the Toa Mahri in future stories, but there are no plans for Matoro to be replaced. [source]
    • The revelation of the nature of the Great Beings depends on the word of LEGO HQ in Denmark. [source]

    BIONICLE STARS
    • The Bionicle Stars will be a part of the storyline, although their smaller size is non-canon, as Toa Mata Nui's larger scale was.
    • Teridax will be coming to Bara Magna, which is how the Bionicle Stars characters will factor in to the story.
    • On the Bionicle Stars: "Well, two are Toa, one is a Rahkshi, one is a Skakdi, one is a Glatorian, and one is a Skrall."
    • The Bionicle Stars are named such because they represent some of the most popular characters from the series.
    • The blue Skakdi is labeled as a Piraka because of its familiarity as a brand name.
    • The yellow Rahkshi possesses the heat vision power.
    • Takanuva will not be treated in story as if he is still in twilight form.
    • While Tahu appears in Toa Mata for as part of the Stars line, the other Toa will appear in story as well, though they will not be featured in the same way and will not be reverted back into Toa Mata form.
    • Tahu's gold-armored form will be canon. He is not wearing one of the gold Kanohi from 2001 story. His mask only has the power of shielding, but it is part of a larger power tied to the full set of armor. He no longer has his abilities as a Toa Nuva.
    • The green Skrall in the Stars lineup is of the warrior class.

    THE LEGEND REBORN
    • A combination of gravity wells and impacts redirected the Ignika back toward Bara Magna on its escape path from Aqua Magna.
    • The elemental powers bestowed on the Glatorian were not already dormant inside of them; rather, they were generated by the Mask of Life. Their abilities are roughly equivalent to those of Toa, although they do not possess the same level of control.
    • The fight between Tarix and Vastus in the Legend Reborn was for rights over the Hot Springs as a water source in light of the attacks on Tajun's caravans.
    • The prototype robot was never controlled by an artificial intelligence like Mata Nui.
    • The prototype robot is about two-thirds the size of the Mata Nui robot.
    • All captured Agori and Vorox were freed when Roxtus was abandoned.
    • The Glatorian now serve as a defense force for the united village. Ackar has become the leader of the united village's defense force, and Raanu acts as leader of the mega-city.
    • Strakk has been banished.
    • "Strakk does not get banished until after the events of the movie. Think about what happened after the fight with Ackar -- the attack on Tajun, and Tesara, the whole world is at war, Iconox did not have time to worry about disciplining Glatorian when the village was in danger of being overrun. Strakk got banished after the defeat of the Skrall."
    • Mata Nui has no involvement in the mega-city now; he is busy with a quest of his own and is not hanging around.
    • By the end of the Legend Reborn, Mata Nui is able to control the Ignika consciously.

    SKRALL
    • The Element Lord of Rock is a leader class Skrall.
    • All leader class Skrall automatically rank a name.

    BARA MAGNA
    • The Shattering was caused by the Element Lords' attempts to use the EP Spring, which lead to the explosion of the planet's core.
    • "Dormus" is the Agori word for "peaceful."
    • The Element Lords have better control over their elements than the Toa Nuva do.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Mata Nui's mission was to traverse the universe, observing societies so that a massive war such as the Core War would not break out again, and then to pull Spherus Magna back together.
    • Teridax's destiny may or may not have been to take over Mata Nui's body; Greg states that the real question is whether or not one robot alone would be able to pull three planets together.
    • Legends of the Toa Mata had existed on Metru Nui prior to the Matoran's migration to Mata Nui, though there had not been particular reason to talk about it much.
    • On the original process to reawaken Mata Nui: "Basically, it's a long process that involves each Toa giving a small part of their energy in sequence to do slowly what the Ignika did all at once. Could easily take 12 hours or more to finish."

"Forgive the delay, Turaga." Hey look, I'm here. The internet at my school was knocked out all day, which was a pain.

    THE LEGEND REBORN
    • On Strakk's banishment: "Right after Strakk's match are the rest of the events of the movie, during which time the Agori are a little too busy worrying about Skrall invasion to deal with administrative matters. They will have time to worry about Strakk's punishment if they survive the war."
    • The aftermath of the attack on Tajun is seen in the movie.

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The Sisters of the Skrall did not fight in the War.
    • The Sea of Liquid Sand does not represent where Aqua Magna originally existed. Its waters were never a part of the Bara Magna geography.
    • The Valley of the Maze will become important to current/future story.
    • Force blasters were invented before the Core War.
    • In order to supply Mata Nui with his considerable reserves of energized protodermis, the Great Beings sent Agori out to get them a sample of it during the Core War and then were able to put the EP into an environment where its volume would increase.
    • Before and just after the maze existed in the Valley of the Maze, it was one of the places where the Great Beings lived.
    • Like the other Great Beings, Angonce participated in the leadership of Spherus Magna and the construction of Mata Nui. He is not the Great Being who was cursed by the Ignika.
    • The third chunk of Spherus Magna is called Bota Magna. It was mostly covered by forest and was the realm of the Element Lord of Jungle.
    • The Element Lord of Rock was once a Skrall, likely one of the leader class.
    • Baterra armor in default mode is silver.
    • The current storyline is very unlikely to be taking place on Bota Magna anytime soon.
    • Bota Magna means "Great Jungle" or "Great Forest."
    • The Element Lord of Sand does not have a tail like the other Vorox.
    • Aqua Magna was southwest of Bara Magna.

    BARA MAGNA
    • Rock dragons, sun-rock dragons, and sand dragons are all related species.
    • Skopio, large as they are, are rarely seen living anywhere close to each other.
    • Sandray Canyon is named after a creature called a sandray.
    • Skopio and rock steeds are carnivorous, Spikit and Scarabax are omnivorous, and sand stalkers are herbivorous.

    GLATORIAN
    • Greg: "Telluris is a nutcase."
    • Perditus participated in the Core War. He was also present for the Fall of Atero.
    • It is possible that members of the same tribe could be set to fight to each other for the winning title at the Great Tournament.
    • A vehicle match is won by disabling the vehicle of one's opponent.
    • Greg believes Malum took his sword with him when he was exiled into the wastes.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Reef Raiders are native to the Matoran universe.
    • Particularly who the two Glatorian left near Mata Nui's consciousness are is not so important as the fact that they are there.

    KANOHI
Greg, in cooperation with bonesiii and Swert, has approved the matching of the following Kanohi mask powers with these forms:

    • Mask of Rebound; makes projectiles bounce back to you, assuming they don't shatter or explode.

    • Mask of Absorption; temporarily absorb powers of those nearby.

    • Mask of Sensory Aptitude; improves all five senses, but not as much as an Akaku for example would improve vision.

    • Mask of Conjuring; uses the fact that Matoran language is programming language -- you can verbally command it what power to have by describing the power you want in detail. Temporary, and you must specify downsides or it ignores you. Greg: "Basically, if you get the slighest thing wrong in your description, you'll wind up with something terrible happening to you (the same way that if you screw up programming, you can crash a program/computer). For that reason, it's not a mask that most want to wear in a potential combat situation, because it's too easy to make mistakes when pressed and they don't want to fry their brains."

    • Mask of Fusion; basically staff of Fusion power, or Kaita-ization, but you can merge with an enemy for a time. Example use, force an enemy to merge with you as a Kaita, walk to a place where you have the upper hand due to surroundings, and split apart again.

    • Mask of Biomechanics; have limited control over mechanical robotics, if simple and near you. Examples include strengthening your own mechanical parts, or slowing down opponents' mechanical parts. Cannot control clockwork brains but does give a mechanical version of telepathy with robots.

    • Mask of Undeath; a taboo/evil power also considered unlucky to wear. Does nothing while you're alive, except siphon off a fraction of your energy (similar to the Nui Stone). If you're wearing it when you die, it animates your body for as long as it has energy charged up for, and makes your body carry out whatever you would have wanted to do if still alive. When undead your eyes and heartlight are black.

    • (Vultraz's mask) Mask of Vulture; another evil power, inspired by the Inheritance trilogy. When a being dies in your vicinity, you absorb all their escaping energy.

    • Mask of Age; evil power, basically Voporak's aging power, but not as powerful.

    • Mask of Untranslation; opposite of a Rau, it scrambles the target's speech or writing. Evil power; example use is to scramble the speech of a Toa Team's leader, so the others can't understand their orders.

    • Mask of Adaptation; basically the Rahkshi power that adapts your body to your surroundings, or like adaptive armor.

    • (Radiak's mask) Noble Jutlin.
    • (Kirop's mask) Noble Shelek.
    • (Gavla's mask) Noble Avsa.
    • (Photok's mask) Noble Kakama.
    • (Tanma's mask) Noble Miru.
    • (Solek's mask) Noble Akaku.

Still slow going in the OGD this week, with Greg just returned to us.

    KARDA NUI
    • Takanuva will be cured of his shadow affliction in his blog.
    DWELLERS IN DARKNESS
    • Darkness has remained with the Shadowed One throughout his correspondence with the Order of Mata Nui and his leaving Xia.

    THE BIG PICTURE
    • A pocket dimension forms naturally whenever a universe comes into being. An alternate dimension, on the other hand, is formed whenever a decision is made in the main universe.
    • The "Paradise" from which Mata Nui was said to have come in 2001 is an actual location that is still relevant to story.

    GLATORIAN UNIVERSE
    • In 2009 there will be creatures, but they will not be called Rahi, as that is a Matoran universe term.

    GENERAL

    -Physiology
    • Takutanuva was a mix of both biomechanical and energy in armor.

    -Masks
    • Vortixx, the Barraki's species, Lariska's species, and probably Sidorak's species can all use masks; Krekka's, the four-armed giant's, and Nocturn's cannot.
    • If a past self of a Mohtrek wearer is killed, an alternate universe is created in which that being's actions up until then never existed.

    SPHERUS MAGNA
    • The Great Beings did not live in Roxtus prior to the Skrall. [source]
    • Greg doubts that all 42 types of Rahkshi participated in the invasion of Bara Magna. [source]
    • Since the Toa Mahri did not bring any Cordak blasters with them to their mission on Zakaz, Kongu is carrying a different weapon, since the Toa had plenty of access to weapons before they left Metru Nui. [source]
    • Takanuva has returned to his gold coloration. [source]
    • It is likely that the Dark Hunters will remain active on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • The Shadowed One's disappearance is related to the broken vials of virus he was keeping. [source]
    • Conjurer still has not wakened from his coma which resulted from trying to absorb a Makuta's power. [source]
    • On Miserix potentially trying to start the Brotherhood of Makuta anew: "I do not expect him to try to rebuild the Brotherhood, because at this point he has no access to antidermis. He's nowhere near the Mata Nui robot and I doubt the Toa will be rushing to salvage antidermis from the wreckage." [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • When it is said that the Matoran worked in the dark during their time constructing the Mata Nui robot, this mainly refers to the fact that the Matoran had no idea what they were making rather than that they literally worked in darkness. [source]
    • On Mata Nui's survey of life in the galaxy and whether the Great Beings had anything to do with life on other worlds: "There were certainly planets with life forms, but most likely not like the Matoran, and we do not know if they were organic life like the Agori and Glatorian. Since the Great Beings are not gods, and did not create the Agori or Glatorian, it is also the case that they did not create life on any other worlds." [source]
    • Those prisoners who are still trapped in the Pit inside the Matoran universe, such as Roodaka and Karzahni, will need to be rescued from the outside in order to survive. [source]

    BARA MAGNA
    • The Sand Tribe's regression took place over the span of generations.
    • The Bone Hunters are all a part of one single tribe; there are no other contingents elsewhere in the desert.
    • On Click's condition: "It's not a curse, no, because Click controls when he transforms. If it was a curse, he would have no control over it. The mask transformed him the same way it transformed Dekar into Hydraxon, to assist in the defense of itself. Without a shield, Mata Nui would have died in battle, and the mask would likely have been destroyed."
    • The Glatorian species always spoke Agori and never had their own separate language.
    • "Aqua" means "water."
    • Stronius had his name before he defeated one of the baterra.
    • There may still be some Skrall on Bota Magna, although odds are they have mostly been killed by baterra.
    • Fero is part of the Bone Hunter army which serves the Skrall in the movie plot.
    • The Great Beings did not create the Iron Wolves from scratch; they modified existing creatures.
    • On the Great Beings' construction of the Mata Nui prototype: "There was no overall intent. It was an experiment they were doing for the sake of seeing if it could be done."
    • Prior to the Shattering, there were few signs of the impending disaster other than some quakes; the actual event happened quite abruptly.
    • The story bible states that Mata Nui ends up empowering the Glatorian with Toa-like elemental powers, not merely charging their weapons with elemental power.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Greg believes Keetongu's judgment vision is based off of the proportion of light to shadow in a being.
    • Although the Visorak hordes were exterminated at Artidax, Teridax has since recreated the species.
    • Miserix, like all Makuta, once created Rahi of his own, specializing in reptilian Rahi, as referenced by his affinity for shapeshifting into reptilian forms. He created the Tahtorak.
    • Kojol created the Proto Drake.
    • Chirox created the Catapult Scorpion.
    • On Tren Krom's motivations: "He is not out to run the universe, he knows he's not capable of that. But he doesn't want what he once looked after to be ruined by Makuta."

    BIONICLE 2010
    • The rush of knowledge that Tahu received from the Ignika before receiving the Golden Armor was part of the Ignika's protocol for giving the Golden Armor to him. [source]
    • It is doubtful that the prisoners of the Pit gained the ability to understand the Agori language. [source]
    • Angonce most likely monitored only the battle between Mata Nui and Teridax on Bara Magna and following, not Mata Nui's adventure on Bara Magna up to that point. [source]

    BOTA MAGNA
    • Although there were likely Skrall trapped on Bota Magna after the Shattering, the baterra may well have wiped them out with any remaining leader class Skrall. [source]

    BIONICLE 2009
    • On why Mata Nui led the Glatorian to believe the elemental powers he gave them were generated by their weapons: "Because he didn't want them to know the power was in them, he wanted them to think it was in their weapons. The idea of elementally powered weapons wasn't new to them, they had those in the war. The idea of them themslves having elemental powers would probably have disturbed them." [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • The powers that Mata Nui had as Great Spirit of the Matoran universe belong to his robot body, not his spirit, which is why he does not access those powers when trapped in the body made for him by the Ignika. [source]
    • On languages other than Matoran in the Matoran universe: "I consider them to be specific offshoots of programming language, sort of as if someone had a machine where part of it ran on COBOL and part of it ran on Visual C++, because those specific languages worked best for those specific situations." [source]

    STORY
    • When the Toa from Jovan's team took the Ignika to Karda Nui where he sacrificed himself to use it, Karda Nui's energy storms were occurring at low intensity. [source]
    • Tahu Nuva's adaptive Hau changed shape so that he could breathe while flying at high speeds when he changed into his Mistika form, but it did not change to resemble any preexisting mask. [source]
    • When Takanuva found Destral's teleporting device, he found that it was not working and did nothing with it. [source]
    • The Toa Nuva did not take the Kanohi Nuva off their Suva and take them with them. As long as the masks are on the Suva, they have access to them. Since Makuta never saw the Toa Nuva as a threat during his control of the Matoran universe, he never had the Rahkshi remove the masks. [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • The teleportation method that Artakha uses, which appears to warp space itself, is different from the Makuta's brand of teleportation, which dissolves the user's substance and reconstitutes it elsewhere. [source]
    • A Toa Nui is not possible to exist. [source]

    Happy Valentine's Day!
    BARA MAGNA
    • The shield Berix found in Tesara in The Legend Reborn is the ceremonial shield of Tesara. [source]
    • There are probably less than a thousand Agori living in the mega-village and 300-400 Rock Agori living outside it. [source]
    • Teridax released more than 50 Rahkshi on Bara Magna. [source]
    • There is no more energized protodermis on Bara Magna, Aqua Magna, or Bota Magna. [source]

    BIONICLE STARS
    • Nektann's weapon is called a "crescent scythe." [source]
    • Nektann's crescent scythe can access his water ability. [source]
    • Given that Nektann is shown fighting with the Toa Mahri in Metru Nui in the artwork for the Mata Nui Saga, it can be assumed Teridax sent him to Metru Nui to harry his enemies but was repulsed and withdrew elsewhere. [source]

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Use of Midak and Cordak blasters is not common in the Matoran universe. [source]
    • One would have to assume that the interior of the Matoran universe is lined with the same impassible layer of rock the Matoran on Mata Nui encountered when they tried to tunnel through. [source]
    • The gate that once sealed Mangaia from Metru Nui was made of the same material as the Makuta's armor. [source]
    • Noble masks of elemental powers give users Turaga-level control over an element. [source]
    • Toa of Psionics are not enormously rare in the Matoran universe, though Toa of Gravity are pretty rare. Gravity is a pretty small tribe of Matoran to begin with, so their percentage of Toa is small. Greg does not see any of the other Matoran tribes as being particularly small. [source] [source] [source]
    • The Dark Hunter Savage was originally a Toa of Earth. [source]
    • Hardly any of the Makuta sided with Miserix when Teridax took command of the Brotherhood of Makuta -- exactly five sided with him. [source] [source]
    • It is a good possibility that someone using a Kanohi Rode could see Jerbraz. [source]
    • Artakha most likely arranged for the Toa on Jovan's team who received one of the two Kanohi Olmak to get it as opposed to giving it to him personally. [source]
    • The adaptive armor possesses an onboard artificial intelligence that determines how it changes. [source]
    • On Av-Matoran's evolution into Bohrok: "I see the transformation as being akin to a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. We have never said the Matoran's spirit leaves the Bohrok, simply that the Bohrok loses its identity as a Matoran because it no longer needs it. It is effectively repressed. So if you devolve the Bohrok, the identity is no longer repressed." [source]

    JOURNEY'S END

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «• Greg does not see the Great Beings as having any one leader, resembling more of a meeting of minds or council of equals. [source]
    • Angonce is inside the Great Beings' fortress in the Valley of the Maze in the Prologue of Journey's End. [source] [source]

    STORY SERIALS
    • Tobduk always had his rage ability. [source]
    • Keetongu went his own way separately from Axonn and Brutaka. [source]
    • The fact that Mazeka noted in Reign of Shadows #9 that the Ba-Matoran village had succumbed to the Visorak fighting implied that there were dead Visorak visible. [source]
    • During the battle near the Matoran universe's consciousness in Reign of Shadows #9, Hafu and Kapura stayed well out of the way of the fighting. [source]
    • Tren Krom's attempt to send a message to the Ignika was successful. [source]
    • All of the characters immersed in energized protodermis at the end of Reign of Shadows #10 are destined to be transformed in it. [source]
    • The adaptive armor should work in space. [source]
    • It is possible that the adaptive armor could have a form suited to the environment of outer space. [source]
    • Artakha's warhammer is really a crafting tool which can also be repurposed as a weapon. [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • A Thornax would hurt a Toa as long as it exploded or its spikes managed to get through a seam in the armor. [source]
    • A Thornax could damage Rahkshi armor but would need to strike near the head in order to threaten the Kraata. [source]
    • If the Ignika were to enter the Matoran universe again, it would most likely turn black, since Teridax is in control. [source]
    • The Kahohi Kakama in Bionicle Chronicles #1 that Tahu burned a tree down to retrieve belonged to Tahu himself. [source]
    • Only artificially created biomechanical beings are able to form fusions like the Toa Kaita. [source]
    • Mata Nui did not kill Tuma because he follows the Toa code. [source]
    • Chirox's reference to using Toa on Destral as raw material for Rahi experiments refers to the fate of some the Makuta's Toa Hagah. [source]
    • Only Makuta have worn the Mask of Mutation. [source]
    • The two islands located north of Odina are the pieces of Nocturn's broken homeland. [source]
    • On whether energized protodermis could transform a destined Matoran into a Toa: "I would say no. It seems that what unlocks your inner Toa power is something that is invested with some kind of Toa power, like a Toa stone. I don't think EP could do it." [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • Greg has no plans to do a second story serial set in the Matoran universe. [source]

    BIONICLE 2010
    • Months have passed since Teridax took over the Matoran universe by the time he has arrived on Bara Magna. [source]

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «• Tahu and Onua's collaboration in Journey's End Chapter 4 takes place after their mission in Reign of Shadows to destroy the energized protodermis source on Daxia. [source]
    • The rest of the Toa Nuva safely left the Matoran universe along with Tahu during the battle. [source]
    • All of the Rahkshi caught outside of the Matoran universe were destroyed by the Golden Armor. Those Rahkshi that remained in the Matoran universe are still alive. [source] [source]
    • On how Mata Nui was able to drive Teridax back: "A stronger opponent can be felled by a weaker one who is fueled by rage. Mata Nui was fighting FOR something, Makuta basically was not." [source]
    • On the smallness of the moon that killed Teridax: "It's quite simple, really. When a celestial body moves through space, parts of it fragment off. What hit Teridax was one of those fragments." "t only makes sense that as a celestial body travels through space at the kind of speed it had to move to achieve this, parts would flake off." It seems to have been a chunk from Aqua Magna, based on the blue coloring. [source] [source] [source]
    • On the manner of Teridax's death: "Actually, wasn't my idea. It came from others on the story team. My idea was that Mata Nui fells him then uses his power to cut the robot body open, freeing all the Matoran, etc. Got rejected as being too violent." [source]
    • Metru Nui was damaged but not destroyed. The Matoran universe's central processor beneath Metru Nui has been very badly damaged. The rest of the Matoran universe is largely intact. Greg: "Metru Nui does not need to be destroyed for [Teridax] to die. Your brain would not need to be utterly destroyed for you to die, all it would need to do is be damaged in the right places. Makuta was possessing Mata Nui's brain and body, so when brain and body died, so did he." [source] [source] [source]
    • On why Kiina was not cursed when she held the Ignika: "…he was simply destined to touch it, because what happened to Mata Nui was destined and she cared about him." [source] [source]
    • Tahu is accurate in saying that Mata Nui is not dead. Greg: "I don't see him as dormant. I see him as very aware of what is going on around him, but choosing not to get involved so that the people of SM can build an independent society that is not dependent on him for every answer." [source] [source]
    • On what Mata Nui learned on his mission through space: "Mata Nui studied other cultures, and one of the things he learned was that wars were often caused by blind obedience to a being perceived as more powerful (same as what happened with the ELs on Spherus Magna, or in our history, dictators like Hitler). This is why Mata Nui chose to absent himself from the rebuilding of the society -- so that the people of SM won't be dependent on him, or become split between people who follow him and people who don't, etc." [source]
    • There is still a small desert left in the Bara Magna region. Although it is lush now, the entire region that was once referred to as Bara Magna is still named so. [source]
    BIONICLE STARS
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «• On whether Tahu will be transformed into a Toa Nuva again soon: "No. The only thing that could do that would be the Ignika, and it is not active right now." [source]
    • On Tahu's Golden Armor powers: "Actually, as you will see at the end of the online novel, Tahu has a lot of new powers quite apart from the armor." [source]
    • Nektann more than likely escaped after the battle and is somewhere on Bara Magna. [source]
    GOLDEN ARMOR
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «• Ultimately the Golden Armor's function was to send out bolts of energy that incinerated the Kraata of the invading Rahkshi force, thus ending the Rahkshi threat and breaking the back of Makuta's army. [source]
    • The Golden Armor was specifically designed to kill Rahkshi in the event that they ran amok. [source]
    • The Great Beings, through instructions embedded in Mata Nui's programming for creating the Makuta, pre-determined that the Makuta would develop the ability to produce Kraata, which is why they knew to develop the Golden Armor with the ability to destroy all Kraata. [source]
    • The Golden Armor affords its wearer only a one-time use of its power. [source]
    POST-BIONICLE 2010
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «• When the inhabitants of Spherus Magna resettle into new homes, what may happen is that Agori will drift back to where their tribes originally came from and where others of their kind still live. Greg: "I can't see everyone living in just one city when there is an entire planet to live on." [source] [source]
    • Any Glatorian who were stranded on Bota Magna will likely join in the new social order on Spherus Magna. [source]
    • On the fate of the Toa Nuva: "I don't expect the Nuva to stay together as a team. The point of this society is it needs to be integrated, not just everyone staying with everyone they already know. I expect Gali and Lewa to perhaps team up with Kiina and Gelu, etc., as opposed to saying with their fellow Toa." [source]
    • With its consciousness destroyed, within three days the Matoran universe will become devoid of heat and light and will become largely uninhabitable. Anyone to stay in the Matoran universe would have to be able to survive in those conditions. The robot's artificial gravity stabilizers will also degrade, and the Matoran universe will become inverted as the robot is lying on its front. [source] [source]
    • Although it is not of anyone's immediate concern, the denizens of the new Spherus Magna will likely strip the robot down for parts and technology. [source]
    • The Turaga are still alive. [source]
    • With Tren Krom still trapped in the Matoran universe, his fate is unclear and will be dealt with later. [source]
    • With Makuta defeated, the Visorak will most likely escape into the Desert or Jungle of Spherus Magna and become wildlife. [source] [source]
    • The Zyglak will continue to shun the rest of society, since they hate anyone who follows Mata Nui. [source]
    • On the fate of Lehvak-Kal: "Depends. If Aqua Magna moved slowly, they might have been pulled along with it. If it moved quickly, they would have been ripped out of orbit and are now floating in the void." [source]
    • The dust clouds surrounding Spherus Magna are still out there. [source]
    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • Takua was the first Matoran ever to be created. [source]
    • Greg would say a Matoran's gender is based on its AI programming. [source]
    • Like the inhabitants of the Matoran universe, Mata Nui was an AI which exceeded the aims and visions of its creators. [source]
    • The coloration for the element of Gravity is purple and black. [source]
    • On the purpose of the southern islands in the Matoran universe: "I see all the land masses as basically being the same as organs in our bodies are." [source]

    MISCELLANEOUS
    • Greg would say that the Spear of Fusion would be able to meld Kanohi together. [source]
    • Greg would guess that the Bahrag could possibly create new Bohrok-Kal with different powers. [source]
    • Like Roodaka's mutation power, the Mask of Mutation can alter a being's powers. [source]
    • On why the Makuta did not simply use Masks of Mutation to create new Rahi: "Well, for one thing, they don't all have Masks of Mutation. And I sort of see it as the difference between making beef stew from scratch or buying it pre-made and putting it in a microwave. The Makuta are artists and they like putting in the time it takes to do it with viruses as opposed to just zipping things into being with the mask." [source]
    • The organic birds seen on the island of Mata Nui were birds from Spherus Magna which fed on fish and nested on the water and therefore did not need land to survive. [source]
    • Pridak was never actually able to reform the League of Six Kingdom's before Makuta's defeat. [source]
    • Brutaka probably had his Olmak even before he joined the Order of Mata Nui. [source]
    • All the Toa Hagah teams probably had six members, although the teams were not all made up of Toa of the six classic elements. [source]
    • The Exo-Toa that the Toa Mata found in the Bohrok nests were placed there by the Brotherhood of Makuta as a failsafe in case the Bohrok were ever released prematurely and the Bahrag needed to be suppressed. [source]

    BIONICLE 2009
    • The reason Mata Nui would be able to give elemental powers to a Glatorian but not to an Agori is that Glatorian are physically stronger and more durable as a species than Agori are, and therefore able to handle the increased power where Agori cannot. [source]

    GREAT BEINGS
    • On how energized protodermis is related to protodermis: "We don't know that it is, simply that the GBs named the substance energized protodermis. It is possible they detected some similar properties to liquid protodermis." [source]
    • Energized protodermis is not a necessary element for making protodermis. [source]
    • The Great Beings named protodermis before they named energized protodermis. [source]
    • The prototype robot was never designed for Mata Nui's use. [source]
    • When the Great Beings had no other use for the prototype's power source, they placed it in the protection of the Valley of the Maze to keep the Element Lords from getting their hands on it. [source]
    • The prototype power source did not feed into the Great Volcano's power plant. [source]
    • On why the Great Beings did not try to evacuate the people of Spherus Magna before the Shattering: "The Shattering was a very abrupt event, although they knew there was a definite potential for it to happen. But if they could not get the war to stop, how would they convince everyone to board rockets and escape the planet because of a disaster that hadn't happened yet and that they probably would not believe ever would happen? And once it had happened, you more than likely would have had another war as people fought to be the first in the rockets and to keep opposing tribes out. So it wouldn't have ended well." [source]

    STORY PLANS
    • On why Denmark has still forbidden Greg to discuss the Great Beings: "If I knew, I would tell you [...] All I can say is I wanted to show a GB (at least the hand of one) in the graphic novels and was told no. Who knows, if someone in Denmark wants to keep BIONICLE in their back pocket in case they need it again, maybe they are thinking a future story would be built around the GBs. I really don't know." [source]
    • Greg has no plans to bring Toa Ignika back. [source]
    • Greg plans to write one more chapter of Reign of Shadows; it ends this month. [source] [source]
    • Sahmad's Tale will run longer than Reign of Shadows, and new serials will start in April once the others end. [source] [source]

    Halloween
"Forgive the delay, Turaga." So yeah, I don't have a Halloween costume, and I have lots of cereal in my dorm room. Looks like I'm gonna be a cereal killer this year. Yup.

    BIONICLE 2010
    • Teridax will be arriving on Bara Magna in order to kill Mata Nui.
    • In the Stars lineup, Tahu, Takanuva, and Gresh are the good characters, and the Rahkshi, Skakdi, and Skrall are the bad characters.
    • Tahu is reverted to Toa Mata form by the Ignika.
    • The Great Beings are related to Tahu's golden armor set.
    • The Stars Skrall character does not have a name.
    • The Stars Piraka is Nektann (he survived the battle with the Rahkshi).
    • Q: Is Bota Magna going to appear in the story at all? A: "Well, the answer is maybe. We originally planned with Bota Magna to be that the residents had decided that technology and machines had destroyed Spherus Magna, so they had abandoned and destroyed every piece of technology and machinery on the planet, so they had went from being part organic, part biomechanical, to part organic, part biomechanical, and part plant."
    • Greg: "I asked to show a Great Being in one of the graphic novels and got told no, Denmark does not want them revealed yet. So that is still a bit of a taboo subject, at least for now."

    THE LEGEND REBORN
    • Q: All the BIONICLE names so far have been Maori or Latin. So why is Click so named? A: "Well, I actually didn't name him. What the original script had was Mata Nui arrives on Bara Magna, and gets attacked by a monster with a scorpion tail (Not a Vorox). What was supposed to happen was, well, the stinger tail breaking off still happened, but a group of the Scarabax were to come along and devour the monster. The director came to me and said: 'If we're going to animate these things, then they've gotta appear more.' And that's how Click came around."
    • Q: Did the script for The Legend Reborn call for Metus to be turned into a snake? A: "No. We went through all sorts of ideas. Him getting killed, banished, imprisoned, etc. So finally the director came up with the idea for him turning into a snake."
    • Q: How did you decide on the traitor? A: "Well, we figured that whoever the traitor was, he or she had to travel around Bara Magna quite a bit, so much that no one really cared what he was doing, because he travelled a lot. So that's how we decided on Metus."
    • Mata Nui was not able to read the writing on the walls of the secret lab near Tajun because it was a dialect of Matoran he did not know.
    • Metus is not venomous.
    • Stronius is alive and now leading some contingent of the Rock tribe.
    • Tarduk goes on two journeys north; the second is during the Legend Reborn.
    • Mata Nui leaves the desert immediately after the events of the movie.

    BARA MAGNA
    • While their homeland was on Bota Magna, the Skrall had outposts in other places, such as the Black Spikes. It was these outposts that were destroyed by the baterra, which led the surviving Skrall on Bara Magna to go to Roxtus.
    • Gelu's encounter with the Skrall in Comic #3 takes place in the Dunes of Treason.
    • The name of the bird with the five-foot wingspan and claws that can penetrate armor mentioned in "The Crossing" is Striker.

    MATORAN UNIVERSE
    • It would seem very likely that the Great Cataclysm caused the deaths of the two Glatorian species members found near Mata Nui's consciousness.
    • Trinuma can shoot kinetic blasts from the same weapons that enable him to fly while in combat.
    • The Makuta of Stelt is the same one whom Conjurer tried to absorb the powers of and the one whose armor was breached during the Great Cataclysm.
    • Sidorak met with the Makuta of Stelt in order to arrange for the Brotherhood to select Voporak for experimentation. The Makuta of Stelt conducted them himself on Stelt before lending him to the Dark Hunters.
    • Q: What kind of energy did the Coliseum in Metru Nui produce? Was it straight-up electricity or something more exotic? A: "I prefer to think it was something more exotic."
    • Gali Nuva was required to note the position of the Red Star because Mata Nui needs the Red Star to leave the planet, and it is important to make sure its orbit has not decayed.
    • Miserix's essential motives prior to his deposition was to accumulate power in a way that would not attract Mata Nui's attention.
    • There were more Order of Mata Nui members than Brotherhood of Makuta members at the time of Miserix's reign.
    • The Pit mutagen does not necessarily mutate all members of a species in similar ways.

    REIGN OF SHADOWS
    • The fact that the Order of Mata Nui was unable to discern anything from its studies of the Nui Stone is because their research had been unsuccessful, not that they were unable to remove the shards embedded in Tuyet's armor in the first place.
    • The crystal that Tuyet produced in the Archives was the Nui Stone the Order of Mata Nui had reconstructed form the shards in her armor.
    • Keetongu is an ally of the Order of Mata Nui and not an official member.
    • Tren Krom was utilizing communications gear to send a transmission to the Ignika.
    • Axonn and Brutaka returned to the chamber near Mata Nui's consciousness by Brutaka's Makuta power of teleportation.
