  1. Hoooooooboy. Back full of eyes. That is legit unnerving. Also, fantastic build. I legit cannot find anything to nitpick.
  2. While you've done a superb job with designing a distinctly mechanical feel for your giant robot dinosaur, I think I'm most impressed by just the concept of a giant robot dinosaur playing surrogate mama. That first picture is absolutely adorable.
  3. Hey, Helryx was one of the oldest beings in the Matoran Universe- depending on whether Mata Nui existed before the robot came online, she might even be older than the Great Spirit himself. If that's not cause for being all bones, I don't know what is. That said, nice-looking MoC. Very smooth design for the armor- the Noble Hunas for pauldrons is an inspired choice!
  4. FEED ME AAAAAAAAAALL NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG That is one beautiful trio of maws. Well built, my friend.
  5. Ooh, that's a pretty unique look! I like it.
  6. Ah, it's been a while since I've seen a Poor Disadvantaged MoC. Still fantastic. =D I'm a bit short on time now, so I won't go in-depth on everything you've made here (that would probably take half an hour to type up), so general thoughts: everything is wonderfully unique and oozing with character, and I absolutely adore it. Post-apocalyptic barbarian Hakann, ogre jailor Avak, Capn' Vezok, jungle god(dess?) Kongu, gloriously orange mad scientist Nuparu… Matoro's lookin' a bit evil there, but he's rockin' it well! Beautiful stuff.
  7. I wish I had more to say than "this is absolutely beautiful". I guess being practically speechless is a pretty good response anyways, though! ...well, I do have one thing to say- it makes me really happy to see a Hero Factory core crowning the centerpiece. =)
  8. Ooh, custom pieces. Interesting. I do recall Helryx being implied to look different than the Mata, but it's nice to see some oldschool representation nonetheless.
  9. There's a lot of really nice stuff going on with both of these figures, but one thing that really stands out to me is how seamlessly bulky Pell is. That is some absolutely delicious chonk.
  10. ...hold up. Did you seamlessly blend the Core Hunter helmet and a dragon jaw? That's easily one of the most impressive uses of pieces that really shouldn't belong together that I've ever seen. Like, the rest of your MoC is good too, but wow.
  11. That is smooth. Fantastic job, especially with the lower legs and feet.
  12. Frail, yet commanding. Skeletal, yet strong. Skeletal, yet intricate. And above all else, absolutely beautiful. This is one of the best MoCs I've ever seen, and if I had a TTV account, I'm all but certain I'd be voting for this model. Well done.
  13. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] Single-line transmission. <<I heard that.>> Back to teamcom. Taylor allowed himself a small grin before returning to fussing over his turret. Darn things weren't made for someone without augs... OOC: @FarflungWanderer
  14. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] "...and play nice with my gear, okay? I don't wanna hear about how my evac blew itself to bits while I was force-feeding a Jackal his own stickies. Respect the bombs. Respect the Pelly." The other ODST laughed and casually stowed Taylor's rucksack- still crammed with mines and other types of ordinance- on one of the Pelican's racks. "What, you don't trust us?" "It's not about you, friend." Taylor depolarized his visor and tapped the left side of his helmet. "When you've had a life like mine," he said, "you learn that it pays to be a little bit paranoid." The ODST laughed again. "Gunny, if you wanna worry, worry about the pirates, not us." Taylor shrugged and started making his way back to the booster frames, inspecting what explosives he'd decided to keep on him as he walked. Frags, flashbangs, flares, a pair of thermite cords, a single tripmine... It was still more than enough to blow him to bits if someone so much as sneezed at him, but at least he was slightly less likely to take Vasquez and the rocket with him. Maybe. And he had a thinner profile now, for what that was worth...? He mumbled a curse under his breath. Contrary to expectations, it did make him feel better. Slightly. Vasquez was already on their booster when he got there. He gave her a quick nod, clambered up the rear ladder to his turret, and mag-clamped his boots to the hull. OOC: @Vezok's Friend
  15. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] Despite himself, Taylor felt a smile creep onto his face. "Well, usually when I get strapped into a coffin, I ride closed-casket." He hesitated, then added, "Thank you, though. Not often you find someone willing to give a pep talk to a Jumper." Especially not from a Spartan. He readjusted his rucksack and strode off after Vasquez. "So. Anyplace I can put my luggage? I don't wanna blow us both to bits if someone nails me in the wrong spot..." OOC: @Vezok's Friend
  16. Very interesting design! My opinion of CCBS shells has always been a bit mixed, but you've done a really nice job with how you chose to distribute your different colors. I also really like a lot of the little choices you made, like the armor skirt and what looks to me like a medallion on a chain- they add character in a way I don't usually think about when looking at MoCs. Shield and mace look a bit weird, but I've found it hard to make decent-looking maces or shields that work with CCBS fists so I'm not particularly worked up over that. All that said, though, it doesn't quite feel like I'm looking at a Helryx figure. She's supposed to be old and frail, and the warrior you've created looks like she could take on a Makuta with her bare hands! I like her, and you've done a good job with her, but I dunno if she's really fitting for the contest...
  17. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] "For a given definition of 'backseat', I imagine," muttered Taylor, eyes darting between the booster frames and Vasquez. "Those things have an awful lot of exposure, and I'm not exactly packing a shield generator. You sure you don't want me with the other Jumpers on the Pelican?" OOC: @Vezok's Friend
  18. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] "Ah." Grimacing under his helmet, Taylor raised a hand. "Pardon me if I'm interpreting this wrong, Spartan Vasquez, but... did you just say that I'm supposed to be using one of those rockets?" OOC: @Vezok's Friend
  19. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] Taylor turned. Blinked. Stared. There was a soft clunk as armored palm met faceplate. Taylor began to cackle. "Fossil?" he said, returning the fistbump with gusto- he knew it took a lot of force to make a Spartan really feel it. "Fossil, you say? You've got some attitude for a walking, talking tree, kid."
  20. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] Taylor exhaled again, nodded. Back to business, then. "Understood, sir," he said, and to his surprise he was still able to keep his voice steady. "And, uh, Alice? I'm fine. Pre-op jitters, nothing big." Well, that was half correct, at least. He managed a thin smile. "Thanks for asking, though." He tried not to look at Julia and Artur. Tried not to think about when they might have been recruited. Tried not to think about Reach. He sighed. He was doing that a lot this morning. "Artur, kiddo-" Darn it. "-if that's your idea of a joke, I'd suggest staying away from stand-up." OOC: @Dane-gerous @Pteronura Brasiliensis @Vezok's Friend @Snelly
  21. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] "Is that..." Taylor's jaw worked. "Is that not..." Gears spinning, steam hissing, a hamster frantically scurrying nowhere on its wheel. Now is not the time. "...y'know what, I'll ask about it later." He paused. "Actually, no, that's probably a bad idea. I think?" Deep breath. Exhale. Ugh. Definitely not the time.
  22. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] Taylor frowned behind his faceplate. Even after half a decade, being an ODST still felt a bit surreal to him; seeing a Spartan, an actual Spartan, perk up at the sight of him, even just a little... Whatever alternate universe I've been dropped into, I hope my evac's coming soon. Now wasn't the time for frayed nerves, of course. Inhale. Exhale. "Apologies, Spartan," Taylor said, keeping his voice smooth and steady. "I was under the impression that we'd be sending you ODST support as soon as the Banshees and Sera-" Wait. Wait. Hold up a minute. "...pardon me, I just realized something." He turned to Artur. "Could you run that by me again- the bit about adult Spartans and mental institutions?"
  23. I vaguely recall that one! I had no idea that it actually got shut down. I used to spend all my days in the Libraries subforums, and there's a lot of stuff there that I can vividly remember enjoying, but only a few details stick with me. I spent a ton of time in Comedies early on, and there was stuff like lavaside rahi doing a parody of the first 2006 book, takuaE3's The Quest for the Last Three Great Disks, a bunch of stuff that Turakii did that I vaguely recall taking way too seriously, at least two comedies about living with sapient BIONICLE sets (one of which I did an absolutely abysmal job of co-authoring near the end, ha!), and of course GSMN's The Toa Metru At Home, which was what really got me hooked on BZP in the first place. (Ironically, I contributed to getting that last one locked down; I was very bad-mannered as a child.) There's also a couple epics- Takuta-Nui's works, the Paracosmos and Expanded Multiverse, the Vohan stuff, a rather dark story about Ninjo getting corrupted and starting a BZP civil war, the Tournament of Shadows (man, I miss that one)... And there's one short story. The Golden Door. Toa Birger, unscrupulous thief and heir to Jaller and the legacy of the Red Star. It was an incredible tale, and I'll always be sad it was lost in the Dataclysm.
  24. I too am here for the RP stuff. Came to check on the BZPRPG and maybe finally make a post that I'd been meaning to do for, like, literally half a decade at this point. Stayed because one of the guys decided to start a Halo RP and it sounded like fun.
  25. IC: Taylor [Madrigal hangar] “If you’d forgive an old man being presumptuous, Spartan Vasquez, Spartan Rawlins- I’d suggest the Pelican. I can’t say I’m not concerned about seeing a bunch of booster rockets and guns strapped together and called an insertion craft.” Scribbling idly away on a notepad with a well-worn pencil, Gunnery Sergeant Taylor Gull stiffly strode over to the small crowd of Spartans (and one Elite), his rucksack covered in enough frags and mines to blow an entire platoon of Kig-Yar on their own little Great Journey. “Morning, everyone,” he added. “Hammer Squad’s just about finished up on the Pelly, for the record, so I figured I’d take a short stroll while I had a little time, see how the other side’s living.” OOC: @Snelly @The UltimoScorp @Pteronura Brasiliensis @sunflower @Vezok's Friend @Dane-gerous
