  1. Wii like defending the Wii.

Sonic Unleashed for Wii was also a good buy...night stages got repetitive and like a cheaper Lego Star Wars, though. Day stages were AWESOME, though. (And flicking the Wii remote to homing attack, lightspeed dash, and boost was a good move.)

Speaking of which, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is Gen 7/PS2 exclusive, as is Lego Indy and Lego Batman. Unless a PS2/3 or Xbox360 is in your videogame center, then Wii is your one ticket.

Anyways, can you post all your chipsets, charasets, etc, in some sort of brickshelf/maj for now? I'm new to RPG-making, and I don't have a good database yet. Which, of course, is what I need. (Besides: Until the download goes back up, I only have Piraka Mania's beta version database to scrounge through. And your screenshots make your spriting even more irresistable to copy off.)

EDIT: Also requesting Map-style Visorak sprites, preferably able to be fitted in a single charaset without events.

  2. The staff could also make more frequent backups. If the last available backup was in September

A monthly system would mean far less damage in case something like this happens again. (That's only 1/6 of the damage from now...and that's if the last backup was between 3-4 weeks ago, I estimate.)

The good news is that some newer RPGs (as well as RPGs that had a solid fanbase and "rinse and repeat" storylines in which it wasn't necessarily crucial to know every detail to get a grip on the plot, like TSTW,) could survive by starting where they left off. Reality was the more unlucky of the group.

However, Bionicle RPGs were hit rather hard, to the point that they sealed Night of Infinity's (which was a newcomer in RPG Contest #12, thus the entire topic was deleted) fate. Shut thankfully was incumbent long enough to weather the blow, and Exo had no wish to continue the Playground. (Abyss became the new NoI.)

  3. ...Then again...we don't want the RPG to get so complex nobody pays attention.

Still, a variant could work with things like Hocotatians and Pikmin: They would get 1-5 Onions of Pikmin species to choose, and then they could use those to battle, Pikmin game-style. (With a few modifications for each new species.)

Then, for individual Pikmin players, we could introduce the same thing we did in the first RPG. I guess we could do an Onion system...perhaps then we could do it so Pikmin from RPG 1 could also end up with Hocotatian characters. (But simpler...honestly, food? )

And BTW, all old stuff for a sequel to 2 are scrapped. No more Pikmin Nomads. Just Good guys (Hocs, Light Pikmin,) Minions (Dark Pikmin, Minions,) and Bulborbs.

    Anyways,

  4. Hmm...all good ideas.

I'm planning to submit it as soon as we have a cohesive plot, rule system, and the rest of the stuff for the RPG laid out.

Okay, first, the story: You've already seen my idea. Can anybody else submit a new cohesive sub-idea? (we've pretty much all agreed on my idea.)

(I can't believe how popular this topic has gotten.)

EDIT: No way is anybody going to be making Super Smash Sadistics. Sure, it's the exact opposite of last RPG, but that's just it: If everybody's competing to see who has the most sadistic character, we once again go into the flatness that starkly marked 2, only in reverse: We make too many Uber-evil gangsters, and as a result: Exo yells again about why the RPG isn't "Pikmin" enough, and thus we either have to start up 4 or call it quits.

Shade and the Evil should be the limit. Even Deaths have a sense of honor, no matter how weak. Shade can play people all he wants. The Evil gets to cannibalize Minions if he likes to gain strength. THAT'S THE LIMIT, please.

  5. I actually think if we just leave the evil a jet black, giant Onion that spawns "minion seeds," then have it morph into bosses every so often to add flavor to the RPG, and slowly reveal itself until about 3/4-7/8 through the RPG, when it fully reveals its identity, we could do that: It gives us like 4 to 20+ memos to think about whatever it's supposed to be.

    BTW, my boss idea:

Bosses: Bosses are various monsters, creatures, and machine that appear so often, upon which the members of 2 factions will attempt to defeat it, while the third remains neutral or aids the boss. There are 3 kinds:

-Monster Bosses: Monsters are actually powerful forms assumed by the Evil that generated the Thing. The Hocotatians/Pikmin and the Bulborbs fight against it, but the Dark Pikmin/Minions aid it. They tend to occur every 4-6 memos.

-Machine Bosses: Machines are powerful devices built on Hocotate and shipped to the Distant Planet, where they are unleashed to defeat the other factions. Bulborbs and Dark Pikmin/Minions fight against it, but Hocotatians/Pikmin aid it. They tend to occur every 3-6 memos.

-Creature Bosses: Sometimes, a giant creature will park itself on the battlefield and decide to make the field its domain. They don't prey on Bulborbs (in fact, on some occasions they are good defenses for the Bulborb armies,) and thus the Bulborbs tend to act neutrally towards them or even defend them, but the Hocotatian and Minion forces have it high on their priority list to stop them, considering the havoc they wreak on their own forces. They tend to appear every 3-5 memos.

  6. Perhaps. Explain.

Also, I'm using this entry as a means of us all formulating the next RPG and what it will be like.

So by the end of this entry we will have formed a decisive RPG to send to the Approval topic.

Here are a few ideas of my own (more coming soon):

    New Bulborb types:

Green: A faster Bulborb, colored green with a cyan head and lime spots.

Blue: A more durable Bulborb, colored blue with a magenta head and teal spots.

Emperor Bulblax (Sentient): The Ancient Evil gave quite a few members of the grub-dog family intelligence, and the Emperor Bulblax was no exception. (Granted, they were made in fewer numbers, but they are still formidable.) Reward only, like Gold and Death Pikmin.

    Once again, they're prototypes.

    Hocotatian suits:

    Red- same as before

    Yellow- same as before

Blue- Same resistance, but ice pellet gun replaced with a snow maker to chill foes and temporarily blind them.

White- Same resistance, but with transquilizer guns with darts that must be replaced every so often.

    Purple- same as before

    Black- same as before

Green- Same suction cups, but whip replaced with grappling claw (can also grab Dark Pikmin)

Orange- A new suit with no resistances but with a life force detector (to sense other beings' presence) and limited telepathy (to detect the movements of a foe.)

Silver- A new suit with camouflage powers (though a blur can still be slightly seen) and a sword. No resistances.

Platinum- A new suit that denotes importance, grants huge resilience, partial resistance to all attacks other than melee combat and explosions, and looks cool, besides. Reward only, like Golds, Deaths, sentient Emperor Bulblax, and their minion counterpart coat.

Minions get different colors of "shadow coats" based on the Hocotatian suits as well: Crimson, Dark Yellow, Indigo, Gray, Dark Purple, Jet Black, Hunter Green, Dark Orange, Tarnish, and Dark Platinum.

Pikmin to cut out of 3:

Teal: Never actually got a major role.

Balloon: Ridiculous and never got a major role.

    Rule ideas:

    -No switching sides without permission.

-If one faction is getting WAY more members than any other faction, the staff are allowed to temporarily ban new members of that faction until the time when the factions are more balanced.

So yeah...let's all post our ideas right now.

    Neya Darkaea Unleashed! :voyanui:

  7. Note:

    Pit versus Takanuva?

    Ivysaur versus the Morbuzahk?

    Meta Knight versus Antroz?

    Kirby versus Kirop?

    Mr. Game and Watch versus

Master Hand and Crazy Hand versus Nidhiki and Krekka?

    Rayquaza versus Lewa Phantoka?

    Porky versus Zivon?

    Meta Ridley versus Miserix?

    Tabuu versus Teridax? (Recommended)

    Brawl on.

And the outcome of this has thoroughly refreshed my trust in the world's sanity.

Neya Darkaea Out. :voyanui: ... :voyanui:
