    It's Out!

One day Bundalings, you will own a car, and you will wish wish wish that you knew how to fix it, because repairs are costly! So read up and ya might learn a little on my future entries when I start rebuilding my old engine.

    It's Out!

The engine, transmission and transfer case are all out of the truck! YAY! I also removed the side and rear windows, because they are super expensive REAL tinted windows... not the stupid stick on tints. Now I just have to take the tinted windows out of the rear passenger doors, and that is more of a chore, being as you cant just cut them out with a knife like the back ones. The doors actually have to be disassembled to remove the glass. Once those are on my good truck, I will be blingen it pimpin' style in my Burb. I took out all the light covers and turn signals too. I'll sell off the rear 3rd seat (they were about $2,000 brand new back in the day) I can get a few hundred for it at least.... That, and I'm going to have a ball with a Sawzall, and cut the front and rear bumpers off the truck at the mounting brackets, being as they are too difficult to unbolt due to age and rust. It's all good fun, and I can see why people say that working on cars is therapeutic. I feel very satisfied with my progress on the carcass, as it is getting closer to the point where it can be hauled away If I am lucky, I can snatch the class four towing hitch thats mounted on it too! As of now, some of the bolts are buried up in the frame rails, and I can't get to them. But when I take the rear bumper off, I might be able to access them. Only time will tell. Oh, and the engine compartment on a suburban is big enough to sleep in.... an interesting lil' tidbit of info for y'all LOL
  3. My friend was ill for almost 2 weeks with what you are talking about, plus extremely sore throat, and awful coughing. He never ever gets sick, and this one just put him out for the count. So, take medicine to keep it at bay. He's allergic to many types of cold medicine, so the poor guy had to tough it out.
  4. Jeez Seran, now I have to work harder to do my official review........... You can borrow this if you like. -S
  5. Czar, you can still stop by and drop off your mocs of you want to display them. What abummer that you can't make it :s Oh well, there will be more conventions
  6. One box has already arrived at Waynes door, and I am sure there are many to follow!
  7. Its day one of the engine transplant for my 89 suburban. I have been working on disassembling my parts truck to get the engine ready for pulling. I have drained the antifreeze, and the A/C system, and am ready to remove the spark plug wires and distributor cap. It's raining a tiny tad outside, but it's not enough to really be a bother. My friend is coming up in a bit to pull out the transmission and transfer case. Were then going to Eagle River to sell the transmission (from the parts truck) for $1000. Then it's off to Peters Creek to snatch up the engine hoist. I figure we'll get the engine taken out today, and put it into my truck tomorrow. I'll keep y'all updated as progress goes, and I may even include pictures! Wish me luck!
  8. What about words like through, trough (how you get F out of GH gets me...), chevrolet, scion, and sigh............. I can't think of any others at the moment..........

    Converse

For a minute there, I thought you were going to talk about Old Skool shoes............
  10. well, I got it done! My clothes got all fiberglassy, and it was a veerryyy sweaty job. I went up into that dusty crawlspace donned in my thick carhartt coat with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I put on a dust mask, a tight snow hat, and some leather gloves, long pants and rubber boots. I taped my gloves to my coat, and taped my pants around my ankles. I practically fried up there, and after said work was done, I was so exhausted, I almost started hyperventilating. But, its all fixed, and it should be a bit warmer in Moms room now. So everyones happy
  11. I volunteered to insulate an area of my Moms roof that has no insulation, but the house is proving that I cannot do it as easily as I had planned. What I thought was an outside access door in the roof, proved to be nailed down rather firmly. No budging whatsoever. So, consequently, I have to go ito the roof through the coat closet. Now imagine a closet that is basically enough space for you and a friend to cram in there, with a shelf below the ceiling door that you are trying to get into. Now imagine trying to take a huge bat of insulation up that tiny hole...... I dread the fiberglass. I can only hope that I don't get it all over me. I don't have any old nylons to put over my arms to protect me from the finest of fibers, so I hope I don't get insulation rash from the fiberglass. This is going to prove to be a daunting project with a lot of crawling around in tight dusty spaces....... Oi oi oi....
  12. Priority mail is usually three-five days, so it should be ok to send by the 20th. I will be taking plenty of pictures at the convention. I'm going to try and get EVERYTHING this time. I missed some of that great system stuff at brickfest as far as pictures went.

  17. Aww Kexpod died! That little bugger put out good sound... Might have to pick up one one of these days.....
  18. Its up to you, you don't have to send in a moc if you don't want to....
  19. It's official! I have a place for mocs to be mailed! Get your creative talents going and build up a really special moc for Northwest Brick Con! All sizes of mocs are welcome, and we would like to get as many mocs as possible to display, so that Bionicle makes a real presence at the convention! Adult Fans of Lego will be impressed by the sheer number of people who love bionicle as much as they love Lego Bricks. Lets show everyone our talents at building! Gather your parts and get busy! When you have a moc that is ready to mail, please PM me, and I will send you the necessary information for mailing it!
  20. I've been told that we have pretty much as much space as we could ever need for NW Brickcon, so I want to see lots of mocs!
  21. ooOOOOoooo, I am jealous! You got to go to a car show! Lucky! I love old cars and trucks. I'm going to build a 1968 Chevy Impala SS with the "hide-away" headlights over the course of a year or two with a friend. I'm going to rebuild the tired engine from my moms Suburban for my muscle car. The Burb is getting a new motor from my parts truck. I can't wait to get my hands greasy! Google Image Search the Impala, it is incredibly cool! If you get a muscle car, be sure that it's in good running condition. You want one that has a nice motor, but not a Huge motor. You can save on gas that way. Look for rust, or bumpy areas that are painted. (rust under paint) Rust can be costly to fix if you don't know how to fix it yourself. It's a smart thing to do to take the car into a shop to get it checked out before buying it as well. There are a lot of good deals out there on great old cars, so be sure to shop around!
  22. The convention is held on the 5,6,7 of October. The package needs to be mailed and in Seattle preferably by october 1st. You esentially have less than one month to complete your mocs
  23. Hey, now that you have all those mocs in hand, you should consider sending some to Brickcon............
  24. YAY for funtime spent with someone special! She's cute Omi, very nice for you SPARTAAAA!
