  1. You can remove the paint with rubbing aclohal and a wash cloth. Not having that flower on there will help alot if you want to MOC with it. I can't help you with the head, maye make a bad guy of some kind...thanks for the tip on how to get that paint off! as for the head, it will probably end up in the deepest darkest corner of the closet; waiting for some brave matoran to discover it again...Whoever finds that will be positively terrified... think of the children and keep that thing somewhere better lit.
  2. I've recently gotten into webcomics. With them, you usually don't have to invest in them until after you've read them, and decided you like the story. I have a lot of books, so I have to keep in mind what deserves space on my shelves. Like Aanchir, graphic novels are more up my alley than single issues. They're more durable.
  3. Hey there Biomech. I remember you. Remind me, were you a veteran of the Fruit War?
  4. He's missing that yoke he always wears. Just sayin'.

That's a solid lineup. I'm sure you can pull something together.

    Looking Back

Oh, there's plenty. Anyone here remember Core Dimension/Etcetera? He was a cool guy.
  7. That's because there hasn't been a teal color on the palette since they streamlined it. There's now a bright blue color that some have mistaken for teal, however. It's used in the Alien Conquest sets for the ADU, the Spongebob "Heroic Heroes of the Deep" set, and next year, in the Hero Factory villain "Thornraxx" and the girl's theme "Friends".
  8. I have Aspergers and NVLD (Non-Verbal Learning Disorder). I WAS professionally diagnosed. In fact, at the end of this week I'm graduating from a college for students with LDs (including Aspergers). I'm not antisocial, at least not as much as I once was. But Aspergers isn't determined by how social you are, but by your social skills. Throughout grade school I struggled with the desire to have "normal" social interactions but being no good at them. I don't think Aspergers (or any LD) is something you can just grow out of. For instance, I know a number of people at my college who love reading, but are diagnosed with dyslexia. Does that mean they've grown out of dyslexia? No, they've just learned methods of coping with and compensating for their difficulties. As have I to some extent.
  9. What needs it more? Really, I love reading this topic after browsing the rest of BZP. It provides a nice contrast to the people still butthurt over BIONICLE ending, or the cynics who'll criticize anything that takes its place. Here you have people just talking about something that genuinely makes them happy.
  10. That's it. I don't think they could really do any sets of well, anything really of Minecraft, but they could do some "survival" type things, with zombies, skellies, creepers, etc.. All though I would enjoy some sets about the Yogscast :PMTLThe one thing I CAN'T see them doing in sets is Minecraft minfigs. The proportions and shapes of Minecraft characters are completely different from those of minifigs. A single set featuring large-scale models of figures, tools, or blocks, THAT I can see. But figs? I doubt it.
  11. I doubt we'll get anything too extreme... he is still just a baby. But it'd be cute if they started doing more together. In any case their relationship should be a little less one-sided now.
  12. You might have to back that kind of assertion up with facts, seeing as I haven't read a single thing suggesting that LEGO has suffered at all from ending BIONICLE.
  13. That's why.The new sets seem a lot smaller than the old ones. On the one hand, that means they're less detailed by default. On the other, it means that people who make dioramas won't have to double the width of their roads just so the Batwing can fly through them. I'm digging the more vibrant color schemes, too, although that's not to say I disliked the moodier, more subdued color schemes of the old theme.
  14. I think "MDP 1" is the real name of this set....any ideas on what it stands for?Looks like he also has the US box arts for the two biggest sets, both with piece counts. The way Garmadon is given four arms seems too awkward...No, that's probably a placeholder for the real name. Especially considering it uses an underscore.
  15. Apart from the Von Nebula part (who doesn't seem to be returning any time soon), you basically summarized what looks to be the plot of next year's HF sets, and by extension, the TV episodes.
  16. No. If the theme had failed because of a single design decision, they could have reversed that in the next wave. And less than half of the mechs in the jungle wave were animalistic. Three were animal-based, three were bipedal, and two were just vehicles. It's clear the theme had been suffering well into the second year (as evidenced by LEGO's massive overstock which they've given away as prizes at some fan conventions). The failure of Exo-Force was simply that the target audience's desire for a mech-based theme had been exhausted. BIONICLE lasted a lot longer than most themes, and Exo-Force lasted an impressive five waves; far more than most non-core themes get.
  17. A lot of people seem to think this would have to be minifig-scale, which is far from the case. Look at this: Maybe too niche for a full theme. But as a standalone set? I think a number of Minecraft fans would love to have a replica like this.I think it'll be interesting to see how this turns out, to be sure. But a lot of cynics are complaining that the CUUSOO experiment has been a failure, when that's far from the case. The response to this idea proves that LEGO is willing to go to great lengths to try and facilitate fan suggestions. In fact (and I dread saying this, because I think it would be a bad idea), if a suggestion to bring back BIONICLE reached the target number, LEGO might look into at least releasing one or two more sets as an outreach to the faithful fan following.
  18. I think this would be the first to go. Bionicle is one of the best projects, if not the best, project that Lego has ever made, and it is the most extensive. Right now we are resorting to discussing other projects to keep the forums alive, but I think once Bionicle comes back, we may not even have the time or the server space to discuss other stuff in the wake of all the new Bionicle stuff. That's a matter of opinion, though. Even when BIONICLE was still around there were people here who hadn't enjoyed the sets or story for years. If BIONICLE were to come back, there would be some people who would be receptive to it and some who would continue to prefer older themes. It's possible that the influx of new members would drown out those members who saw BIONICLE as "just another theme", but that would depend heavily on a revived BIONICLE being as huge a phenomenon as it was when it first began, which IMO isn't a guarantee.BIONICLE was an amazing project in that it was a truly inspired and imaginative theme at a time when LEGO was not doing too well financially. But that doesn't make it their biggest or most influential project of all time. Ninjago has been an incredible hit with kids, just as BIONICLE was in 2001. LEGO City has been incredibly successful for years without even needing a strong story component. LEGO Star Wars helped to pave the road for BIONICLE by showing that there was a strong demand for heavily story-based themes. The thing I worry about is BIONICLE fans once again becoming insular and dismissing other themes as unimportant. I feel it was this idea that gave many fans the mistaken idea that BIONICLE was somehow more valuable than other LEGO themes and that TLG would suffer financially if they ended it. As it is, BIONICLE was groundbreaking, but once new ground has been broken, anything can grow or build on it-- not just the thing that originally broke the ground in the first place.Pretty much all Lego themes except Bionicle can be dismissed story-wise.- 55555Not true. Exo-Force had an excellent story. Knight's Kingdom also had an excellent story. Currently, LEGO has two good story themes: Hero Factory and Ninjago. Ninjago in particular is shaping up to have a story just as epic as Bionicle (if a bit less complicated and serious).Additionally, after BIONICLE ended I grew to appreciate LEGO's stories in less story-based themes. Agents clearly had a story, and you didn't need to watch any videos or read books or comics to figure it out. The story was self-evident in the set design, with scenarios to act out in a clear order with vibrant characters. It doesn't take an invented language and complex terminology to make a good story. Sometimes all you need is a protagonist, an antagonist, and a setting, and the story writes itself.
  19. How many supporters does that have? The Minecraft proposal has been the most successful suggestion for some time.I was initially skeptical of a partnership of this sort, until I started thinking of it not as a theme proposal, but as an opportunity for a large, creativity-based direct-to-consumer set. A set that includes many Minecraft-inspired blocks and gives you free rein with them could be moderately successful, especially given Minecraft's status as a breakout hit.
  20. And of course Bionicle, since the plots are similar (for the Season openers at least,) except they're using the elements of Harmony, not those of nature, and they're all girls instead of five guys one girl. Avatar: The Last Airbender is essentially the same thing, but with like four people. (again, only one girl.) Except this show is more awesome because ponies are the manliest things to dwell the earth (save for Chuck Norris,) and it has an awesome recreation of the scene from the end of Star Wars IV.Yeah, since we're all Bionicle fans (or, at least, were at some point), I figured the Airbender overlap was because of the similarities to Bionicle, not MLP.The similarities other people have mentioned between MLP and Bionicle only serve to convince me that Bionicle could have done really well as a flash-animated TV show.I don't know about BIONICLE, seeing as BIONICLE parts are quite high in detail. Part of me wishes Ninjago were flash-animated, though; I feel CGI is somewhat overdone for LEGO animations, and Flash would give it more of that Saturday Morning cartoony goodness.
  21. I dunno; one issue I've had with the pre-Golden City sets was their fragility; even keeping them on shelves, I have trouble keeping them together. They were great looking, but not very playable. The Golden City mechs, on the other hand, were more sturdy but also less colorful and unique. The 2008 sets seemed to be doing great at striking a balance between those two extremes, but then the theme went and ended.
  22. I'd think a lot of people would have some idea who he is, seeing as he's been in the member spotlight for AGES. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/tounge2.gif
  23. I'd recommend Ninjago. Apparently it's been a big hit with that age range. I can personally recommend set 2519, which includes a spinner and allows for solo gameplay.
  24. Zane's weirdness is what makes him awesome. Also, although the set isn't out yet, he gets a small snowmobile in set 9445.
  25. Mind telling us where you saw this if it starts airing in December in the US? EDIT: Just found out that the first two episodes may have already aired on 21st and 22nd November. Still, unless you prove me otherwise, I am not sure if I should believe~Gata. Typing in "Lego Ninjago Rise of the Snakes" or something to that effect in the search bar on a popular video sharing website should reveal the clips unknown_user2596 is talking about. Strangely enough, they would appear to be from the fourth episode of the series. No idea how they got that...Wow, you were right! Sorry for not believing you, unknown_user.~Gata. Which makes it apparent that Also the first two episodes were pretty cool. Note that Wu just said something ominous and sage-ish when Nya asked if/when she gets her own dragon... Golden dragon much? Seeing as Zane has no idea who his family is, I doubt the pink ninja is his brother. I don't want to watch the episode until it's available in full, at decent quality. But is it possible that Zane just put his uniform in the wash with Kai's?
