  1. I'm anticipating getting a couple of things too. 1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2. Inkdeath 3. Music of the Spheres
  2. I try to break away from the normal conventions of Bionicle naming. For the Rachira's names, I started with the word Rachira, in which I used a hard CH rather than a K, which had been becoming overused by the time I made the name. Then I took a suffix from that (-chir) and added odd letter combinations (some from random words in dictionaries and other books, like how I got Aanchir from Aanchen, a word I found in a history book, and some of my own devising, like Lyichir (which uses a long I and consonant Y), Zheichir (in which I wanted to use the ZH sound like in treasure), or Kriichir (in which I wanted to use the sound made by crickets, represented by a double short I sound).
  3. [the latest character]'s death seemed more to me like a lot of the deaths in the seventh Harry Potter book--- I think Greg's trying to prepare us for the upcoming "Final Battle", which could involve more like this. Greg could've paused to lament [the latest character]'s death the way he did for Matoro, but that woul 1) lessen the significance of Matoro's death, and 2) force him to pause that way for every death that may occur in this "final battle", which would slow down the action immensely. Anywho, I was sort of okay with the reaction to Matoro's death. Mind you, it was too much when [bones: like I said, let's not mention what happened, okay? I agree that what you mentioned was too much -- and the best way to deal with that IMO is not to keep talking about it], but I think the sigs and stuff were appropriate for Bionicle fans who had just read about the death of one of the noblest characters in the story. That whole year had gotten us all to identify with Matoro, whose character hadn't been developed much prior to that, so when he died it was certainly meant to hit us readers hard. I'd also like to take a moment now to once more praise how Matoro's death was portrayed, both in the comics and the books. GregF really outdid himself on Bionicle Legends#8, and both GregF and Stuart Sayger did great on Ignition 11. With all due respect, Lyichir: Rachira of Influence
  4. Y'know, you don't have to COMPLETELY say good-bye to your friends. You can still stay friends with them the way you're friends with us: online. I know it's not the same, but hopefully it could be close. Best wishes on the move, Lady K! We'll be excited to hear how this all works out!

    Blizzard Of '08

How's about sending a little of that snow down here to Virginia? We've barely gotten any this year!

    I'm So Smart

Marzipan, you're so smart! [/cardboardhomestar] Hope you get everything fixed.
  7. Darnit, Bonesiii! Your optimism/pessimism comment made too much sense! I'm writing an essay on that this weekend, and now I probably have to cite you as a source! And my teahcer might doubt that you're legit! To cite, or not to cite? THAT is the question, and it's all your fault! j/k. I probably won't cite you, even though you're one of THE most legit sources on BZP. You made some great points in this entry.
  8. Today. Our dad's going to try and pick out some Bionicle and Exo-Force sets we missed last year. (That's what I expect they'll have, as last time they had a sale like this was last year, and they had '06 sets then.) EDIT: Well, they didn't have much Bionicle, but Dad DID bring in quite a haul! He got the Batcave set, a Ferrari set, the Battank set, and the MOBILE DEVASTATOR! Wootcakes!

    Gali's Real Mask

Well, the shape of the mouth is... sorta similar... triangley.... I think......
  10. Don't drag former sets down because of your opinions on the new one. Gali Mistika's mask makes the Elda look drop-dead beautiful; the chin on the Elda WAS a bit odd, but the eyes at least looked feminine. As it is, I'm quite disappointed with these--- Aanchir and I came up with so many things they could feasibly have done really well, and they didn't use a single one of those ideas. Takanuva, on the other hand, is one of the best sets I've seen in some time--- Did you notice how much his mask looks like the Avohkii? And I can't complain about the armor, as it fits on very well. Plus, he has what I have been waiting for for at least four years--- ACTUAL CONSTRUCTED LOWER LEGS!!! Every other titan since '04 has had normal canister set lower legs, sometimes with other armor added. But Takanuva takes advantage of the new style ball joint to make legs out of normal parts. Also, one redeeming feature of the summer sets is that their parts seem like they'll be great for MOCing. Those jet engine parts and small wings are a kind of part I love--- small detail pieces. And with weapons getting huger and huger, those were getting scarce. EDIT: Forgot to mention the Makuta and Vehicles. I wish Gorast had a black Inika torso instead of a dark grey one. Bitil is cool, especially because I think he has, for the first time since '03, NORMAL YELLOW!!!!!! Krika looks cool, but I don't know if those parts will be useful, especially in those colors. Rockoh has an awful color scheme, but has old and new parts in interesting colors. I'm not too fond of that new visor, and I wish Lego would put the old one out in other colors. Jetrax is awesome--- his color scheme is great and his vehicle avoids using too many of those new, large, undetailed panels. Axalara is... big. That's all I can say.
  11. I don't know what I'd do, but if you tell me we might all find out.

    Wuzzup.

Yayz! Nikira's back! Glad you're feeling better!
  13. Aanchir and I are pretty upset too. Since the beginning I was afraid Exo-Force would go the path of Knights Kingdom, but just when I started to expect better of it, it did worse by leaving off without a conclusion of any kind. Still, Aanchir and I are excited that now we have a chance to continue the story on our own, without fear that the real story will go in a different direction. So while we'll miss the official sets and story, we feel that our fan-made story and MOCs can keep the line alive in our hearts for quite some time.
  14. All of a sudden my admiration for you has multiplied tenfold. If I had a seal of approval to give you, I'd give it, except I'd probably already have given you one, so I'd be forced to make a brand new, cooler one to give you. ---Lyichir: Rachira of Influence
  15. Glad you're back, Lady K! I can't argue with you stopping posting about your life in your blog (as that's what I had to do with my blog), but don't stop posting in it altogether! (as that's what I ended up doing with my blog in the end.) EDIT: And if you need to talk sometime, I'll try to be available.

    Cera

I love the story. It reminds me of one (which unfortunately, I have forgotten the author of) about a super-Vahki that is so committed to justice that it destroys itself. I'm hoping you continue this.
  17. Well, my attempt to get this blog back on track has come to a halt. For Christmas I got a journal that, due to the BZP virus, completely supplanted my blog, and had the added benefit of being private, so that I might be able to record my most meaningful secrets and thoughts in it without fear of misunderstanding. I may update this occasionally, but as you can tell from my previous entries, occasionally is a word which here means "practically never," as Aanchir would put it.

    Broken

God bless you, Lady K. I know how hard this must be for you, especially on top of the other difficulties you've been having. I'm sure Beliwa is in a better place now. Try to remember that.
  19. Hey, that's the same as MY autobiography! Identity theft!
  20. Lyichir

    Merry Christmas! ^^

You got more Bionicle than Aanchir and I... COMBINED? This must be a momentous event, the day on which a person with many interests other than Lego, a person with an eventful life outside BZP, a cool person, got more Bionicle sets than the both of us. Merry Christmas, you lucky duck.
  21. Does THIS count? I believe you mean Mantax? Anywho, I agree with both of ya in some ways. Yes, too much bley in Metru. (Although, now that I think of it, I think the Metru would look awful with their original Turaga colors. I think the darker colors serve their personalities as Toa Metru better, as the brighter colors don't seem to fit Toa going through so much internal conflict. Though I can't picture the Turaga with Metru colors, either.) Too much bley in the new Nuva? I don't agree with that--- Technically, those are my Rachira color schemes! Lego has stolen each and every one of my ideas (except for the Rachira's eye style) this year! Actually, my complaint is not enough silver. Yes, it's new armor, but the Nuva pioneered silver armor! They should have more of it! Technically, Lewa could use more lime. And Pohatu in orange--- though you're skirting around that debate, I feel the need to point out that I have mixed feelings on that. Do I like Pohatu in orange? Yes, I think it fits him better than yellow-orange. But I'm fearing that we won't get more yellow-orange stone sets, and I had really wanted that sort of color from the start. (In '01, I wondered why Lego would choose brown over yellow, a much more appealing color.) And regardless of how much people hated yellow-orange as a stone color, we STILL don't have enough of it yet in my eyes. We only have ONE lower arm or leg piece in that color! One! I can only hope that things will move full-circle--- If we're lucky, next year will bring Matoran Hewkii's dark orange back, and then the next year, brown! It's not going to happen, but I can dream, can't I? Like Aanchir, I've moved away from preferring the old dark grey--- again, the new grey seems to fit Bionicle better, and frankly the old grey doesn't look nearly as good after it has aged a couple years. And more color would be nice, but I think bley fits this year better. Times are dire in Bionicleland, and too much color would ruin the mood. Plus, as I said, my Rachira used the idea of using bley to counteract anbd subdue a much brighter color, and it works well. And as Aanchir said, it helps to give a sense of unity to the Toa team. The Makuta have dark colors and black, and the Nuva have bright colors and bley. I, like Aanchir, am hoping it stays that way, at least through the summer. (But if Takanuva gets remade, and has got bley in his color scheme, I'll be annoyed--- He didn't have black in his first incarnation, and shouldn't have bley in his new one. That's the only thing to distinguish him from a Toa of Ice.)
  22. Like the guy a couple of posts up, I'm more of a tea person. And I'm not even much of that--- who needs caffeine when you can get a SUGAR HIGH!?!?!? Gimme a couple of slices of toast with Nutella spread on top, and I'm ready to roll! Oh, and you spelled "ridiculously" wrong.
  23. Yeah, we're ALL worried that THAT'S not gonna happen.
