  1. Why aren't LEGO bears, or dogs, or parrots floofy? Everybody be wantin' floofy raptors, but LEGO just isn't that good a material for floof.
  2. 1550s? I think you mean 1950s. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/tounge2.gifBut seriously, I hope you're not kidding. He'd look RAD.
  3. Where are people getting these statistics? The only time I remember confirmation of such a fact was back in 2002, which was a time in LEGO's history where most other themes were suffering (even the town theme, which is part of why it was replaced, first by World City and then by the City theme we've had since 2005). It certainly wasn't LEGO's best selling brand at the time they ended it, and probably wasn't for a few years before that. Let's face it; Bionicle did not keep itself going as strong as it did near the beginning for its entire run, or they never would've ended it. Perhaps Hero Factory hasn't had such resounding success as Bionicle did in its heyday, but I hardly see that as a reason for LEGO to bring back a failed theme in its place.Note that I said original.Star Wars may have sold more, but they had to pay royalties. No such problem with Bionicle.I wasn't referring to Star Wars. But Bionicle hasn't been reported as their best-selling original property since around 2002, and LEGO has released more than ten original properties since then, including Space Police, Power Miners, and Mars Mission. Mind you, BIONICLE may have earned them more in the long run if only by virtue of its long lifespan, but by 2010 it was far from their best-selling theme.
  4. I started out with DUPLO, but my first system set was 6537 Hydro Racer.

  6. Honest question: Are you trying to start a flame war?I know many members here, including myself, are big fans of Hero Factory. And while you probably meant this in regards to what you'd tell the LEGO employee asking the questions, being that blunt isn't going to make them reconsider. Plenty of people like HF. Plenty don't. But if you're talking to someone who may have the power to bring Bionicle back (though they probably wouldn't be able to), explaining why you think it "sucks" would go a long way.
  7. I always liked Agents more than Alpha Team. Alpha Team always felt like a more specialized story compared to the archetypal nature of Agents. With Alpha Team, you had to have the story explained to you, whereas with Agents you could get a good idea of the story simply by looking at all of the sets. I liked Agents' characters more as well; the villains in particular had a lot more personality than Ogel, who is basically a standard formula megalomaniac, and his army of soulless drones. Compare that with Dr. Inferno, who was beautifully over-the-top and hammy compared to Ogel's stoic malevolence; and Inferno's henchmen, who were as fully developed as characters as Inferno himself was. That's not to say that I didn't like Alpha Team; I never got many sets, but I loved the original game for Game Boy Color. But looking back, it started out weaker than Agents and got progressively weaker each successive year.
  8. I voted no. In addition to the many shared opinions with my brother Aanchir, I think that the opportunities offered by Bionicle's return are far outweighed by the opportunities presented by new themes like Hero Factory and Ninjago. Bringing back Bionicle is nowhere near as appealing as starting fresh with a new story that can avoid many of its flaws.
  9. How were the skeleton vehicles more realistic? And why do people keep referring to the Kendo ninjas as hockey players? It's obviously kendo gear, and it's bizarre how many of the same people who complain about the theme becoming less feudal Japan-based miss one of the most traditional Japanese elements of next year's sets. I personally love the direction the theme is heading. Then again, I liked the first wave more for how crazy awesome it was than for the traditional Ninja elements.
  10. To some extent I've moved on. I haven't done much with my sets recently, no longer follow the story, and rarely take part in discussion on the theme. It wasn't a big step to give it up; having entered the Bionicle community as a LEGO fan, I had plenty of experience letting a theme go after it had run its course; Bionicle had just lasted longer than those other themes. One thing I can say for BIONICLE is that it carried me through my "Dark Ages", and kept me interested in LEGO's other offerings. Now I focus on other themes: currently my main interests are Hero Factory and Ninjago. And I don't think I'd be broken up about those ending when the time comes around, as LEGO continues to introduce new and unique themes to capture my imagination.
  11. I thought I'd just post here to reiterate my desire for a NinjaSector01. Someone needs to establish a well-moderated Ninjago wiki before the top resource on the subject becomes some poorly-moderated Wikia garbage. And having the groundwork in place before next year's TV series gets into gear would be a godsend. Pleeeeease, Swert?
  12. I loved Exo-Force. In fact, I'd say it's what got me back into system sets after Bionicle had carried me through my "dark ages" (For those not in the know, a LEGO fan's "dark ages" are the years in a kid's mid-teens when they start to lose interest in LEGO products). I took interest in Exo-Force at first for the neat recolors of Bionicle weapons, but was instantly drawn in by the complex builds and shonen-esque story. I'd say 2006 was the best year for story, but the sets were not as structurally sound as later models; I've had to rebuild the Supernova so many times... In 2007 the story was still good. The sets became more standardized, with less diversity (compare the Blade Titan to the Sky Guardian, or the Cyclone Defender with the small mech in the Aero Booster). On the other hand, the sets were more stable. The third year kept some of the standardization with slightly more diversity, and the stability was idealized with the use of ball joints for the ankles (this way the legs were still firm, but the feet would adapt their angle to stay flat on the floor). Unfortunately, the story that year suffered as a result of the theme being cut short.
  13. I'm confused and ashamed by BS01's choice to submit large swaths of fan-created ideas to Greg to be made canon. I understand that Bionicle has had user-generated content before in the form of canonized MOcs and stories, but these were included in moderation and after being properly judged. Yet now BZPower and Biosector01 have decided that they are important enough to decide whatever they like about the Bionicle story. These changes did not need to be made, and Bionicle is the worse for them.

    The Sandman

Flippin' sweet. I've got volumes 1-10. But your whole library having them is like the luckiest thing EVER.

    I Has Hair

...but I thought you would shave it all off....
  16. I wasn't sure if I would register, but if it meant a Bionicle seminar I'd do it in a heartbeat.
  17. Kirby Squeak Squad is pretty much your basic side-scroller. And heaps of fun.

    A Need

Actually, I just use the low-res images from the bionicle.com download page. For my itty bitty iPod nano, it works quite well.
  19. Unless my luck changes dramatically, I won't have anyone to take this year, so I probably won't go to mine. Then again, I might be getting in contact with an old girl (space or no space? Too early to tell) friend of mine soon, so you never know.

    My Birthday...

...was yesterday. Expect a new blog theme at some point. Don't expect it soon, though. That is all. ---Lyichir
  22. You hadn't seen them yet? Oh, you poor soul. I wish they would do more MNOLG style videos or games, but I'm afraid they wouldn't work well for the new action/Toa-centric storylines. Not to say that I don't like the new story, but there's still nothing like the old days.
  23. I'd go to Carapar's. I wouldn't need a time machine to go to that one.
