  1. If that were true, literally nothing would change since there's no references to Bionicle in Hero Factory's story.
  2. Who has treated them as separate species?
  3. That is a very long time. - One of the rare direct posts from the man himself... (this was right after he confirmed that he knew what Mata Nui looks like) - Of course, almost immediately followed by.. - Greg's fatal flaw is answering yes/no questions like... this.. - A poorly aged factoid about Botar...
  4. Slightly off-topic, but does anyone else wonder what it'd be like if the Boxor and Exo-Toa sets sold better? Bionicle might have gone down a path that revolved around mechs. Especially since Greg really liked the Exo-Toa and stated multiple times that he wanted to see them again.
  5. Greg said a long time ago that the Avohkii could be infected just like any mask, but the Shadow Kraata was surrounded by the seven most powerful heroes in existence. As soon as it twitched it'd be dead. Stage Seven kraata are smart enough to know when to surrender.
  6. They probably never intended them to ever be sold. They just had to get some promo pics done.
  7. Back when we just learned that the 2006 heroes weren't going to be the Toa Nuva, someone had this to say about it: "Honestly, I have all seven of the original Toa, and I'd rather get all-new characters. But if I were just getting into the story, and didn't have a chance to buy this awesome new Kopaka guy who never needs help and is always so in control, I might feel empty inside, like a Bohrok with no krana." Man oh man, I cannot wait to see his reaction to how 2006 kicked off.
  8. Doubtful. Makuta sealed off most of the exits and entrances to Metru Nui shortly after impersonating Dume, and he probably recalled any traders first.
  9. Probably. I bet the Toa Mahri took out the last of them during the 2008 storyline.
  10. Greg did not like the Hordika sets. - The absolute mad man... -
  11. For some reason, Greg was really hung up on saying that Nidhiki wasn't a mutant. He even said things like "who said Toa can't be quadrupeds?" I wonder what the story would have looked like if there were Toa from different species. This is from late 2004 btw. - Here's a great tidbit of info that Greg teased us with. - I don't have any screencaps on hand of it, but when Metru Nui was first revealed at the end of MoL, Greg said that the city was "much, much bigger" than the island of Mata Nui. This was flipped around very quickly once 2004's story started.
  12. It could be possible. I bet they would have fled the city, though, and started new lives in the Northern or Southern Continents. Then again, Greg confirmed that every Matoran on Metru Nui (besides Ahkmou) was rescued.
  13. I'm in the process of re-reading all of the old Official Greg Discussion archives, so unfortunately I have no idea where exactly it was stated.
  14. Thank you. I am actually re-reading ALL of the Official Greg Discussion archives, and capturing any answers I find amusing. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes it's just because they aged very poorly. For example: Greg said it many, many times throughout his engagement with the Bionicle community whenever somebody asked. There actually wasn't that much hype and investment into Bionicle in its first year. It was only after its outstanding success in 2002 that launched it to the moon, where the marketing went psycho in 2003.
  15. Greg was asked the question. The answer was that each dome had its own light source, just like Metru Nui (except without them actually being Mata Nui's eyes)
  16. When compared 1:1, sure, but they're built for different purposes. It's like asking if a brain cell is just a better nerve cell.
  17. Someone asked if the six Rahkshi that Makuta created in 2003 were stronger than the other 36 breeds, and this was Greg's answer: Here's how we can thank him for all of his hard work: Bonus:
