  1. Wait, this is a thing? I always just assumed that the pain Mata Nui was spared was from the poison that Makuta infected him with in the first place. Not that Makuta really cared about Mata Nui feeling pain to begin with.

    Takuma Nuva

That poison was the same virus he infected in the first place, though. It seems odd that he would mention it the way he did if it was pain he consciously caused, and even more strange for the writers to have him say it.

  2. I thought this was going to be philosophical. :P But seriously, why the heck do they call it Mata Brown? Why not Mata Orange?

Mata Brown is a fan name because, appearance-wise, it is clearly brown.

However, plastics-wise, it is a shade of orange, so its official LEGO name is Earth Orange.

That being said, as this entry is meant to say, this by no means means it's interchangeable with more vivid shades of Orange like Bright Orange.

  3. I think the staff have become less tyrannical over time.

A diminished audience for your Radical Campaign of Terror tends to make you feel like you have to be nicer, or nobody will listen to you at all.

classic BZP was awesome. Except we couldn't link to YouTube.

Well, and people thought they could openly hate people for how they were born. That was also kind of a bummer about classic BZP.

Honestly, I always felt people overplayed the "tyrannical staff" thing. Yes, staff like B6 can be short and frank, but it's not like people just disappeared overnight for no reason, or because staff disliked them. i pretty much always just saw staff enforcing the rules, like keeping people from spamming or flaming or posting comics with nazi emblems in them.

  4. Well, yeah, we still have a ways to go; any time someone mentions gender issues in Bionicle, a whole new argument pops up about misogyny that gets out of control. It's nowhere near as explosve as the Great Gay Quarrel, however. That was terrible. I was often in the thick of it in those arguments.

  5. Unfortunately, that would be difficult, considering BZPower wouldn't be where it is if it weren't for the administration being mostly knowledgeable on social issues. Meanwhile, over on Brickset, we have Huw encouraging the idea of highly sexist "toppless reviews from British Call girls". If corruption is all the way to the head, change is going to be harder than if it's just the little people and a few lesser staff.
