  1. I'm against sexism, but there are certain aspects of feminism which I hate. So if I encounter an annoying feminist, that wikipedia page will make good ammunition to put them in their place.

Any feminist against masculism is just a sexist in disguise.

  2. I doubt it, sight is our most developed sense, and the majority of the digital world is visual for that reason.

Long bodies of text will always be better written down, because it gives you much more freedom to navigate it, it would be difficult to manage the speed of the voice even if it is made easier to find the part you want.

Talking is easier than typing however, so it may be the case that we speak to the computer and it get's turned into text for us so it can be read easily by us or others.

  3. I initially thought that he should have all of them, but looking at that list, it would be a bit unnecessary. I think he should only really have a handful of the basic ones

To go alongside his fire power:

Lightning, Fragmentation, Plasma, bonus Heat Resistance (making him totally immune to fire) Cold Resistance and Heat Vision.

    General:

Teleportation, Gravity, Power Scream, Quick Healing, Illusion, Accuracy, Dodge, Cyclone and Density Control (and possibly Stasis Fields).

Ones that he definitely shouldn't have:

Darkness, Shapeshifting, Elasticity, Mind Reading, any of the '_______ Control' ones, I think any those would either unbalance or overcomplicate his plotline.

  4. nevaR-more

because I wouldn't have guessed if you didn't tell me

ehhh, I dunno, the dash kinda throws it off

Well otherwise I'd never guess to read it backwards, and that's a clever username wasted.

I'm going to have to over analyse this to explain why:

NevaRmore doesn't work because the capital N neutralises the R, so it looks like 'Neva Rmore' or 'NevaR more' (which you'd have no reason to read backwards)

nevaRmore is slightly better but still confusing as it makes it look like the R is the important part

But if you put some kind of separator after the R, suddenly you're presented with the word 'nevaR' and the more intelligent members should be able to work it out from there, I chose the hyphen because it indicates that it's still one word, which means the 'nevermore' aspect still works.

You can do what you want though, NevaRmore looks the best on the surface, but if you want your literary reference to be any more than a secret only your blog readers know, you should use a separator.

I hope that wasn't too confusing.

  5. iTunes, everything else is for silly people.

it's a nice idea though, here's my try at the cba edition:

    Morning Rain - Trisector

Early morning in the town of Quahog, Peter Griffin went out in the rain to get something from the shop. Out of no where, he was tripped from behind.

    Airborne - Marcus Intalex

he flew through the air and landed with a skid

    Headlock - High Contrast Remix

before he could get to his feet, the giant chicken had him in a headlock

Survival Of The Fittest - Utah Jazz

he wrestled free and got into his stance, it was survival of the fittest now

    Evah - Jonny L

thus ensued a fight scene that seemed to go on forevah

    Transporter - Logistics

as they were fighting, they caused a large vehicle crash

    Chemicals - MRSA

one of the vehicles was containing dangerous chemicals, which spilt on the giant chicken who sizzled an died. Peter walked off towards the horizon, battered an bruised.

Inspired by Family guy, music from This Is Drum + Bass [Disc 1], mixed and selected by High Contrast, all rights reserved.

  6. I was actually referring to the situation where a complete stranger walks up to you and starts off the conversation like that. Obviously if I knew the person already, I'd be inclined to hear more. But let's suppse someone comes up to you with a conversation idea: "hey, I like eating live puppies, don't you?"

A bit extreme, but there are some things, like weather and music that I'd prefer not to have conversations about. I imagine that there are things I like to talk about that don't interest you either.

And in case you missed it, this was meant to be an exaggeration (obviously if it meant a lot to me, I'd be letting people know personally). The dinner/supper comment was supposed to indicate that. :P

I know (and I was aware of the exaggeration) but usually if a complete stranger comes up to you and starts making small talk, they want to be your friend. You should be glad of that and not get caught up on their style of small-talk. Even if you don't mention it, a lot of people will be able to tell.

I think talking about music is great, you can find out a lot about a person from what music they're into, and more-so from how they express their opinion on it, so it's a good way to get to know new people. I also just like being shown new music and introducing people to my music. So I guess I'm slightly biased towards talking about music, but you should give it a go.

I know a big variety of people and I doubt there is anything you like to talk about that doesn't interest me, I do my best to be able to talk to anyone about anything in depth, because everyone has things to say that are worth listening to. Obviously I'm not saying you have to be like that, but if lots of other people want to talk about it, it can't be that bad.

  7. I solve the problem by avoiding the conversation entirely. :P

    "HEAVY METAL ROCKSSS!!"

"Okay, I'm just going to back away slowly now..."

Solve what problem? It's called conversation and it helps with making friends. Some people express their opinions in different ways but differences give you something to talk about.

Using the example above, they say "HEAVY METAL ROCKS!!"

you say "I'm not big on heavy metal, I prefer _______."

Then you listen to some of each others music, exchange opinions and possibly become friends.

If you did what you suggested you'd both think each other were weird, they might be a bit offended, and it's an altogether more negative result.

again, if someone tries to talk to you and you tell them off for objectively qualifying the weather you get a similar result, whereas telling them you prefer overcast weather because it looks nicer it may lead to deeper conversation.

Don't get so worked up about such insignificant things, just relax

  8. Your posts are a bit overkill tbh, while everything you say is perfectly reasonable, the sheer length of your posts, combined with your status can result in people being intimidated and defensive which kind of undoes what you're trying to do.

Don't bother with a point by point deconstruction, people don't like being criticised, it makes your posts much longer and harder to respond to, and it's possibly a bit patronising. Keep it concise, only say what matters, and let them figure out the finer details themselves - most people aren't stupid, they just get a bit carried away.

  9. Not sure about those lower legs. Because it's the same armour piece as the upper leg, the legs end up looking a bit rectangular, I reckon it would be better if you used something slightly thinner, perhaps just a standard toa metru leg or something of a similar size and shape, you decide.

Other than perhaps rethinking the back armour, making the shoulders more interesting (not the upper arms, the actual shoulders of the torso) and a simple one - flipping the lower arms. This is pretty good, I do like the armour on the front of the torso, sleek and simple. So congrats, there was barely anything for me to nitpic and it looks generally good.

  10. It's an old (or classic) story, but it's told in a way that makes it seem new, you get distracted by the logistics of this new world and don't really see it coming (or I didn't really)

It's 3D and really long, so you get fully immersed in the location and the story, the plants and creatures and stuff are really well thought out

They spent loads and loads of money on it

    Hype

It was a combination of those things that made me leave the cinema thinking it was the best thing ever, by the time I got home I'd recovered. It's definitely a good film though, and I pity the fool who get's permanently captivated by it's spell, Pandora's a dangerous place, and apparently quite difficult the get to, so they could waste a fair chunk of their life or lose it altogether, all because of one documentary.

  11. Tren Krom has a picture. Anyone recognise it?

I'm sure this is official, it's just too elaborate and too accurate to be a fan project without us knowing about it. I recall either Greg or Bink asking if people used twitter, This could be a reaction to that

actually I don't know... did you do this spirit?

 Oh I wish I'd thought of it. Alas, no. I can only claim credit for finding this.

hmm... it seems a bit sloppy to be official

I'm still curious of the origin of Tren Krom's picture, if anyone can track down the source it would give us a bit more evidence maybe
