Well, obviously, our understanding of the weather still remains imperfect. My point being, the terminology is a-ok, the methodology, less so.

"Percentages work fine for information that's already been gathered, like test scores or votes or whatever. but when used to predict future events, it just doesn't work."
This would imply that the meteorologist is in the wrong, seeing as you say it doesn't work, not "I don't get it." The meteorologist is very much correct. =P

There's a 39% probability of it raining. That doesn't mean you're only going get 39% of the rain, it means that there is a 39 out of a 100 chance that you're going get some amount of rain. =P
Meteorologists have these percentages not because rain clouds can walk up and decide "eh not today", but because we literally cannot predict their movements fast enough. The weather system is an extremely complex system that, while we can simulate, we can't simulate fast enough. So we have to take out some variables to speed it up and make guesses. If we see a giant blob on the radar we can say "huh, yup going get some rain." If we see sporadic clouds we say "eeeh there's so and so chance of it raining here."
It's going rain or it isn't going rain, but weathermen are not all knowing, and thus rely on probabilities for their job. =P Saying that you can't use probabilities in this sense would also completely invalidate the field of quantum mechanics, and we all know how well that'd go over.

Controversy? Hmm...
You're a nerp. >:§

Stay tuned for next month's flick, Tsharknami.
They survived the dreaded Sharknado, and thought it could get no worse.
But it did.
-
I'm naming mine the Master Sword. If I get a 3DS.
-
Sharktopus looks positively sane when compared to the horrific acid trip that is Sharknado.
-
I'll definitely have to check that out.

I can't stand that term. It diminishes the fact that some classes are being marginalized while others are granted privilege, which ultimately circumvents the issue and muddles the solution.
It's a good example of the heart being in the right place but the action not lining up as intended.
~*end rant*~
Seeing as I am an equalist and have always referred to myself as such, I figure I should step up to explain myself.
I understand that it can seem like those of us who call ourselves equalists could seem to be ignoring the injuried parties. I, personally, call myself an equalist because my beliefs expand beyond feminism, who's main purpose is gender equality. I find that equalist sums up my belief nicely that all humans should be equal, and not judged by who they are but what they do. I have no beef with feminism, nor am I implying that feminism can't help in areas outside of gender. I'm simply saying that it implies a gender-centric mindset of equality in my mind, and so, I call myself an equalist more to put myself at rest than anyone else. Calling myself an equalist encompasses my beliefs in gender, race, and orientation in one neat little package. I don't think one of the tenets of feminism is Cherokee race relations, and nor should it; it's goal is gender-centric and that's a-ok. It'd be a terrible mess if it had everything ever piled into it. I simply prefer one term over several to describe myself.
tl;dr it's more logistical than anything else.

*pokes head in*
Patriarchies aren't very cool. I prefer demorchies. Demorchies? Firefox tells me it isn't a word, but it seems like it should be. Eh, demorchies, democracies, I just prefer a world were people get judged for what they do.

With the initial happiness out of the way, I'm feeling a lot of apathy and depression right about now.
-
I'm hearing that the game is kinda meh.
-
Correct me if I remember wrong, but didn't the family Zod was shooting his eye lasers at have ample opportunity to, idunno, run, scurry away, duck, something?
-
I'm going say S4.
-
I found the movie pretty meh all around.

Your essay was good and all, but I take offense to the idea that Kansas-bred superheroes are prone to cape-wearing. =P

I would like to pop in for a moment to say that, last time I checked anyways, Microsoft's ToS already gives it the ability to change its policies at any time and very little notice. So Microsoft could wake up one day, institute the phoning-in DRM system in the morning, and simply say "hey guys if you don't like it, tough ****, go buy a PS4. Oh, you already bought a dozen games for the system? Sucks to be you."
Which, well, let's face it. Microsoft hasn't been doing much recently to endear itself to the consumers, so I can't say them doing that would be any shock at all to me.
-
But the question is, are you that one creepy uncle everyone has? =P
-
The console war does seem to be back on for Microsoft, now that it's not blindly charging into obviously terrible territory.
I still have my concerns about it, but at least now it's an actual contender, and not a brick of solidified corporate desires.

Morgan Freeman?
I'm sold.
-
I think it's already being handled in the 'Change the advertising policy' ticket actually.
EDIT: ...hrm, can't seem to find that actually.
-
I saw it as an ad on the site that shall not be named unless you happen to be on the front page. It seems... pretty nice actually.
-
Because BZPc is known for being the awesomest Minecraft-related BZP event around. Don't forget to put me in also. =P

Are you seriously complaining about getting what you ordered within a single day? =P

Oh come on. Cavill isn't that bad. You don't even need a grade curve to give him at least a seven. Maaaaybe a six. But really anything 5+ is fine.
