  1. For some reason every seven days we keep finding ourselves in a new week. Weird. Anyway, despite The Taken King coming out tomorrow, I'll still be streaming a LEGO game (mainly because my copy probably won't have arrived yet). So you get to vote for what I should play. As per usual, we'll kick things off around 7:30 PM Eastern time over on our Twitch Channel. You can follow us there to get notified exactly when we kick things off. If you have any other questions, comments, or feedback on these streams, we're all ears!
  2. It's time once again to pick the game we'll be playing tomorrow for Twitch Tuesday! The options are still the same, so there's no surprises here. The stream will be around 7:30PM on our Twitch Channel, which you should follow if you want to know exactly when we go live. Your feedback is always appreciated, so let's hear it!
  3. Alright folks, you know the drill by now. Tomorrow we'll be streaming on our Twitch channel and you get to pick the game. We also have a couple free-form questions for your consideration: What other games would you like to see us stream? What do you think of the format thus far, how can we improve things? Would you like to see other people other than me host the stream? Our attempts to fix the issues from two weeks ago didn't exactly pan out, but I hope to spend some time tonight troubleshooting things. If anyone is familiar with streaming Twitch via Xbox One or an El Gato Game Capture, send me a PM.
  4. Reviews for XMDN here! Don't be too mean, I don't think my panda heart can take it. As time goes on, more of what happened here will be revealed. Have fun, hope you enjoy it!
  5. Now for ten years, we've been on our own. The radio in the corner was blasting out Don McLean. Part of a block party weekend or something. He rubbed his eyes, squinting at the light coming in through the window, licking dry lips. And moss grows fat on a rolling stone. He had a headache. But that's not how it used to be... The radio exploded, his headache receding after the intial spike from the sound of the detonating speakers. His toothbrush was somewhere around... He stumbled into the bathroom, nearly tripping over a drumset, splashing water on his face, reaching for his toothbrush. His mouth felt grimy. The toothbrush helped. He spat, watching the running water swirl down the drain, turning it off. His phone was buzzing. He ignored it, pouring some cold coffee from the pot he made the previous night and drinking it in one gulp, grimacing at the flavor. Some of his hair was falling in his eyes. He ran his hand through it, sending it into disordered spikes, pulling a black, rubber plated riding suit on, grabbing his helmet from where he'd dropped it when he came into his apartment the previous night. Plus side of a one-room apartment. Not many places to lose things. He paused at the door, looking back toward the phone on the counter and sighing, picking it up and sticking it into a pocket on his suit. He didn't turn the screen on, no reason to check the messages right now. The elevator creaked downward to the garage, pausing for a full twenty seconds at the bottom before the doors finally decided to screech open. He winced, the sound of the elevator bringing on a new throb of pain in his head as he stepped out, a plain black motorcycle sitting in a near parking spot. Well, it looked black. Bits of the original green paintjob still showed through, but repeated scorchings, scrapes, and general abuse had fractured it off. "This'll be the day that I die," he sang softly, the spark plugs deep inside the machinery of the cycle reattaching, the engine roaring to life. He got on slowly, pulling his helmet on, latching the airtight seal onto his suit. It was surprising how useful that seal was, especially because he could cut out a lot of sound if he wanted to. As the shout of the engine faded into blissful silence, he sighed-then grimaced at the smell of bad coffee on his breath. Oh well. Beast couldn't be picky. *** "Soundbyte and Remus will attempt to distract any enemy combatants while Errant tries to sneak in and free the hostages from behind. Errant, I'm downloading the blueprints for the building to your phone, along with my suggested route. Soundbyte, Remus: Be loud, be obnoxious, fight hard but not too aggressively. We don't want them getting worried and executing anyone before Errant can get to them." He nodded. True, a drunk didn't paint such a pretty picture... But Beast looked old, grey patches showing up in his blue fur, his catlike eyes weary from years of worry. Remus was immortal, so of course she looked the same. Alistair was still in his twenties, still looked good, their personal Knight Errant a tall, brown haired man with polite speech and smile. Might as well be the face of their little triumvirate. The X-Men. Down to a drunk, a knight, and a wolf. *** The X-Men. Down to a few seconds. He was running, his powers stretched to their absolute maximum, the entire universe creaking past him in slow motion, light starting to burst through the walls of the medical clinic- Reaching for the black-haired boy with him, gold brooch on his chest- Grabbing him, continuing on, dashing through the open door, glow melting through the room behind him. He had to go faster. His body started to tear under the strain of being yanked almost entirely out of the timestream. The light was burning closer. Faster. It was at his heels as he ran. FASTER. Time was disintegrating as the light caught up, burning him away, agonizing pain tearing through him so unmercifully slowly, tearing through his burden- The X-Men. Down to a few seconds. He was running.
  6. Twitch Tuesday will hopefully be back tomorrow on our Twitch channel. The first three weeks we streamed LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and last time we streamed The LEGO Movie videogame. We also have LEGO Marvel Superheroes available for your streaming enjoyment. There were some technical issues last time around, and if I have enough time we'll try to fix them tomorrow, but no promises. It's been a busy week. Anyway, there are three options, and it's up to you to decide on which game I play tomorrow. See you on Twitch around 7:30 PM Eastern tomorrow!
  7. Over the past two months, we've started using out Twitch channel to play LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham live for people to watch. I thought streaming the same game week after week might get boring for some people though (although I'm fine with it), so I thought we'd give you some options. During the recent sale on Xbox Live, I picked up the LEGO Marvel and The LEGO Movie games, to help mix things up. Now we've got three options, and it's up to you to decide on which one I play tomorrow. See you on Twitch around 7:30 PM Eastern tomorrow!
  8. You know what's great about having a friend who is extremely adept at making trades and scouring ebay for deals? He knows just how to grab something rad online. A few days later and bam!--Toa Lhikan Hordika puts in my hands the Collector, one of San Diego Comic Con's exclusive LEGO minifigs last year! (A trade, of course.) He looks good with the team, and by team I'm including the proper Nova, of course. And Drax has his signature energy axe. (A second thanks goes to xccj for grabbing me Rocket in his Ravagers outfit.) What is really cool about the Collector is the backing of the case unfolds to show a large image of him, scowling (the other side of his minifig head). Not that any sane LEGO collector would display this unless there was a safe way to do so, but it's a pretty neat bonus. But the exclusives don't stop there! I also have another benefactor: my manager who used to work at GameStop and snagged all kinds of extras for the LEGO video games. So now I have the exclusive Elrond figure and, better yet, Lex Luthor in power armor and, better yet, Plastic Man! Certainly exciting additions to my collection. What's next? Making a display case for all of these (and my other exclusives)! -CF
  9. So I was stuck deciding between getting the Quinjet City Chase and Attack on Avengers Tower, or the Imperial Assault Carrier. And then I realized that both the Quinjet and Avengers' Tower have roughly the same amount of pieces combined as the Carrier, but for 20$ more. WAT. I understand the Marvel sets have a lot of stickers and recolors and the Carrier is mostly just gray bricks--that would of course equate to a few extra dollars, but 20?!
  10. “I’m sorry Steve…” Tony said, while staring at the damaged faceplate of his helmet that he held between his legs. “I’m sorry it had to end like this…I just...I just wanted to save everyone, you know? The Registration Act was supposed to be my legacy. God knows I’ve been doing this hero act for most of my adult life--Jeez, you've been doing it since the forties.” Tony chuckled softly to himself then sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He leaned back in his uncomfortable wooden chair and closed his eyes. “It should be me lying on this cold, metal slab...It really should.” He pursed his lips, then spoke. “Gah...I’m just man in a tin can, but you. This dark, cold world could have used someone like you.” “But...The good news is...Through all of this...I never took a drink! And if I didn’t during this, I’m probably never going to...So there’s that.” Tear drops started pooling on the floor beneath Tony. He reached up and gently placed his hand on the corpse that laid in front of him. “To do what I needed to do to win this quickly, I knew that meant you and I would probably never speak again. Or be be friends again. Or partners again. I told myself I was okay with it because I knew I was right and I--I knew it was saving lives.” He closed his heavy eyelids, trying to hold back the sadness that welled in his soul. But he knew it was useless. “It was!! It was the right thing to do! And--and--and I was willing to willing to get in bed with the people we despise to get this done. And I knew the world favors the underdog and that I would be the badguy. I KNEW this and I said I was okay with it. And--and even though I said...Even though I said I was going to go all the way with it...I wasn’t.” Tony started clenching his helmet tighter and tighter, causing it to dent more and more the longer he did so. “And--And I know this because the worst has happened. The thing I can’t live with has happened. And for all our back and forth, and all the things we’ve said and done to each other...For all the hard questions I had to ask, and terrible lies I’ve had to tell...There’s one thing that I’ll never be able to tell anyone now. Not my friends, or my co-workers, or my president...The one thing!! The one thing I should have told you. But now I can’t…” “It wasn’t worth it.”

    Ant Man

I saw the trailer, and I liked it. I think the concepts are cool (as someone who isn't very much in tune with the lore), and am excited to watch it. What are you guys' opinions?
  13. He didn't turn out exactly how I would have liked, but a custom torso extending its length and reducing the neck will better match his long arms (which have to be that way if I want the layered CCBS otherwise it won't look like encompassing armor) and fix that. But I don't think those changes will come before Bricks Cascade, which is a shame because there's a whole super hero theme going on. Luckily I just built another hero which I'll hopefully post quickly. (Yes it's a terrible photo but it's a WIP so ha.) I've been itching to use that mask for Iron Man's gold/black armor since October. -CF
  14. I know most (if not all) of the Avengers: Age of Ultron sets don't come out until March, but seeing as how a lot of the YouTube reviewers (JangBricks comes to mind) already have them, has anyone here manage to obtain them yet? If so, do you think they're worth it in the terms of quality and price? I'd figure I buy all of them, seeing as how Marvel is my favorite fictional franchise and all but I wanted to make sure I wasn't burning my money away before I do.
  15. I probably should have made this topic when the show started, but alas, here it is. So what are you thoughts on the show? Do you dislike/like it? What about the current episode? Discuss! I can say I actually enjoyed this mini-series, not as much as Agents of Shield though. I can totally see Marvel making a second season of the show, but probably not in the near future seeing as how season 3 of Agents of Shield is coming on March 3rd. P.S.: I don't expect this topic to last more than a couple days, since double-posting is against the rules. So I'll be making another topic once AOS airs again, and another when the Daredevil Netflix series drops.
  16. Intro: Feels like I should put something like "OOC" here, but oh well. Anyway, in an effort to oversaturate the forum with Marvel Fanfics, here's mine and Tyler's effort. Set in the Ultimate Verse, in the future. Tali, Erik and Sarah Relo provided by me, Dallas Green by Tyler. *** Chapter 1 Tali looked down at her hands, the fingers of her left rubbing nearly faded calluses on the right. Commercial farms whipped by on either side of the interstate, each not much different from the next. She looked up, eyes tracing Dallas' jawline. "You... You sure you want to meet them?" "As long as I don't have to milk anything, babe." "Y-you shouldn't have to." She pointed at a green and white exit sign on the side of the road, for Plainstown, Nebraska. "This exit... Then it isn't far." "Tali, you don't really hail from a place called Plainstown, right?" "I... Live outside the city limits. Technically, where we live is called Rainbow Stones. But... The nearest thing to a city is Plainstown." Tali blushed, looking back down at her hand. Dallas drummed his fingers at ten o'clock and then wrapped his wrist around the top of the wheel, sparing a glance at Tali. "Nothing they say can make me break up with you. You know that, right? You sound more freaked than I feel." A nod, her eyes still on her hand. "Just nervous..." One of her fingernails kept running over the callus on the ball of her hand right below her index finger. Dallas grinned crookedly at her in the mirror. "Those hands are never gonna be entirely clean again. We've dated too long." Tali smirked in spite of herself. "Calluses from a pitchfork." She glanced up again. "Farm girl, remember." "Yee-haw.“ She finally stopped fidgeting, letting her hands rest. "That's... That's not all I'm nervous about." She frowned slightly, feeling of her stomach. "I think I gained back all the weight I lost during the war while we were in the other universe..." Tali twisted in her seat and looked back. "And maybe then some." A pause, then a nervous giggle. "I almost look like my old self again." "I'd be less worried about the five pounds you gained and more worried about the five inches between your and the tattoo of my name," Dallas joked, pulling off the side of the road before they merged into the next highway. "Look at me real quick." Her head turned toward him as she brushed a strand of wavy black hair out of her face. "I'm kinda worried about that too, but... Keeping it covered." Dallas pushed aside his (unbuckled) seat belt (for appearances sake, he'd worn it lazily halfway across his lap for most of the drive) and kissed Tali, tucking her hair behind her opposite ear while their lips were locked. "Pretty as a picture," he tisked, and then a distinctly quieter: "I love you." "I love you too," she said, stroking the side of his face. "I... I'm actually worried about the scars." Dallas looked over Tali's face for a long time, and then one half of his mouth flipped upwards again. "I'm worried they'll think I'm a girl." Tali smiled and scratched the back of her head, eyes running over Dallas' body. "Nah. My family wouldn't assume you're a woman." She kept smiling, as if at some private joke. "I don't like that look." "Nothing bad, just... Compare my body shape to yours." "We do, often and vigorously." She turned bright red, but laughed. "I mean... I... I... Carry extra weight and... You know." "I know." Dallas got back behind the wheel and pulled out on the road. "Jeez, you'd have to be lost to find this place. I could have murdered someone and come out here with fifty bucks, a gun, and the clothes on my back. Never been caught." "N-next right." The next turn was a gravel road cutting through fields, but it was straight and flat. "And... That's one of the strengths of the open plains." The hand Dallas didn't have on the wheel reached out and clasped Tali's, folding over the callus. "Easy does it, girlfriend. I'm right here." She nodded, eyes running over Dallas' face again, her hand squeezing his. A farmhouse was visible in the distance, but it looked fairly ordinary. Off white siding, windows with open storm shutters, light visible in them. "It's... Been so long." "My father's name is Eric and my mom is Sarah..." "Eric...Sarah...Dante and Tali?" Dallas tried to keep a straight face. "...Yes… My parents didn't want to give us ordinary names..." "I could tell." "Still not sure why I have my name, but... My parents really enjoyed Dante Alighieri's work." "Something I'll have to ask, I s'pose." Silence reigned for another minute or two until Dallas parked the car in front of the farmhouse and looked over to her. "We'll knock on the door together, if you want." Tali shook her head. "I... I can knock on my own." "Okay. I'll be right here. Moral support and a wandering eye." "... A wandering eye?" "I love you!" Tali sighed and smiled, kissing him on the cheek and mouthing "I love you too" before opening the door and walking toward the porch, stepping up two wooden stairs to the deck surface, knocking on the door. Dallas crossed his fingers and sat up on the Nissan's trunk, reclining with wrists on his knees and his head against the roof. A tall man opened the door, his body having the wiry, taut muscles born of manual labor, his skin tan and weatherworn. His hair was the same unruly black spikes that Dante's was, though his eyes were a much softer green than his daughter and son's. His lips moved dumbfoundedly for a few seconds, Tali looking up at her father and crossing her arms nervously. "Hi, dad." "Hi, Dad," Dallas muttered. Eric Relo held his daughter close and kissed the top of her head, then looked over at the car after a minute. He smirked, slightly. Dallas waved. Eric waved back, then grabbed his daughter's shoulders and whispered something in her ear. Tali turned bright red, her father just kept smirking. He turned, and yelled back at the house. "Sarah! Get down here!" Dallas kicked one leg up high on the side view mirror and posed for Tali with a cheerful wink. Tali just turned redder as her mother stepped into the doorway. The mother looked a little more elven than the daughter, built a little shorter and much more slender, but otherwise... The resemblance was plain. Sarah Relo stepped closer, her finger running along one of the scars on Tali's face- then she hugged her daughter tight and sobbed. Dallas looked away awkwardly and tugged at his bangs. Her mother pulled away, looking into her eyes and saying something too low to hear. Eric scratched the back of his head and walked slowly over to the car, holding out a hand to Dallas. "Eric Relo. Nice to meet you." Dallas took the offered hand and shook it - maybe, like, the first time he'd shaken a hand since...fifth grade? Sixth? - with a smile. "Dallas Green. Hiiiya." Eric smiled slightly, releasing his hand and leaning against the car, looking toward Tali and Sarah. "So you're the one on her tattoo?" "."
  17. X-Men Darkest Days: Fire and Ice The following is a Fan Fiction that Tyler gave me the idea to write today when he said he always wondered what if the Hellfire/Phoenix plot had played out. So what you have before you is an alternate universe from the XMDD RP. In this Universe things go pretty much exactly the same up to a certain point, which is towards the end of the X-Men's last great battle, Las Vegas. After that you will see where this universe starts to divulge a lot and go its own way. Another change that happened earlier, before Vegas is that Jace never killed the Black Queen Katherine, so keep that in mind for future parts. I tried to write the characters featured here to the best of my ability, if anyone thinks some things need to be changed with their characters then I can edit. You'll see some characters you love and some you might hate. If your character is not featured its either because they didn't seem overall important to the plot I'm going for, I don't remember their powers or that I can't juggle too many characters, I'm going to do the best with the ones I've selected. That doesn't mean other characters from the RP who aren't in the first part won't appear in future parts. So with that out of the way... enjoy the story and would love to hear what players of XMDD think about it! Discussion Thread Part 1 "Ashlynn, it's okay. It's not a trick; it's me, Warren." She felt his hands pressing gently against her neck. His voice was calm and trusting… but Ash’s dark passenger, the Phoenix force that was now a part of her began to scream something else entirely. “No… no… no NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!” Ashlynn Summers screamed as she threw both arms out and her head snapped upwards towards the sky. Warren went in for the kill, trying to twist Ash neck and snap it instantly but it was too late. Liquid fire exploded out of Ashlynn literally in every direction, Warren was thrown backwards like a rag-doll as the merciless Phoenix fire washed over him for the second time in his life… It was over quickly. Ash now sat crouched on the skyscraper rooftop. She blinked her eyes, not truly understanding what had just happened. That she had lost herself for a second, taken over by that thing inside her. “Warren?” she asked as she cast her ultra-green eyes around and then paused. Almost as far as she could see all she saw was ruin; burned; charred and desolate ruin. Entire buildings had been turned into burnt up husks. “Oh… my god… no… I didn’t do that! I didn’t do that!” Ash said on the verge of a melt-down. No… I did. I had too; he was going to kill you Ashlynn. I saved you, we saved you. You can’t trust your friends; they don’t understand… they will try to kill you like Warren. A voice said within Ash’s mind. It wasn’t a voice per-say, more like a thousand voices stitched together. “I’m so sorry… I didn’t mean to do this… I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.” Ash said as her tears fell against the charred concrete. There was a blur of motion and then suddenly a man dressed in a black suit stood before Ashlynn. He had a sort of, old timey air about him. His hear was dark and pulled back behind his head, and a scruffy black beard coated either side of his face. “Who are you?” Ashlynn’s voice cracked. “Are you here to kill me?” she added. “No my dear, I am not here to kill you.” He started. His voice was eloquent and powerful. “My name is Sebastian Shaw. I have come here because I know what you are going through my dear. I’ve seen it before. With your mother, everyone will think you are a monster now. Your friends will turn into enemies and your enemies into friends. But to me, the Phoenix Force is beautiful. It can be controlled, I can teach you.” Shaw said. He cast a hand at the burned ruins of Vegas that surrounded them. “This… all of this… so much destruction and so many innocent lives lost. It can all be avoided Mrs. Summers. The Phoenix Force can be controlled, but to do this you must trust me. What happened with your mother 17 years ago can be avoided. We can save the world together; we can change it with your power. No one else has to die.” His words were so swaying, Ashlynn wanted to trust him but she’d heard that name before. She knew he was affiliated with Hellfire, even if she didn’t know much about them. Something inside her, maybe it was the Phoenix told her, that she could trust Shaw. She slowly got to her feet; sniffling her nose and trying to be strong. “Fine I will trust you. I will come with you. But if I decide that you’re not telling the truth, that you want to use me for your own selfish and evil goals then I will destroy you. You’ve seen what I can do.” “There is no doubt in my mind that you can and you will. But I assure you it will not come to that. You are making a wise choice Mrs. Summers. Now let’s be off, shall we?” **** John suddenly sat up and groaned. The last thing he remembered was that the X-Men still alive and able to move had made it to a small run down building for shelter from the assassin and Delta Squad threat. Then the whole place had exploded around him. He’d seen fire wash over everything through the windows and then everything had gone black. He suddenly cast his eyes around him, first noticing that the roof of the building was now completely gone, burned away by something. John thought he knew what that something was; the same thing that had killed Jeremy Walker not an hour before, The Phoenix. John suddenly glanced around, trying to see if everyone was okay. That was when he noticed Liliana. She was lying near John; half covered by rubble and badly burnt. “Liliana?!” John shouted as he moved towards her. Her chest wasn’t rising and falling, he quickly checked for a pulse but found none. She was gone… “No… NO!” John shouted as rage and sadness overtook him. The one girl he had ever loved was lying dead before him and there was nothing he could do. “Is anyone alive… anyone… please.” John sobbed; too busy crying to look around him. He heard some groans and movement and looked up to see a few others rising from the ashes and rubble. Nathan stood up, his wing still clearly broken. “I’m alive…” Nathan said, “And so is Jesika.” He added. Good the little girl is okay. John thought. He knew he had to be strong now; there wasn’t time for him to mourn. “I’m okay,” Matt Summers chimed in. “What the ###### happened?” “Looks like my sister blew the place up.” Zack said, John remembered he’d been shot, but it was good to know he was still kicking. “I’m alive.” Julia said as she got to her feet, John was immensely happy that she was, especially after he lost control and their little fight. “So am I…” Alec sat up and shook his head before dusting off his metal arm. “I’m alright but my wheelchair is trashed.” Nero said, coughing from the dust. “Resident shape-shifter is alive.” Chris said. John slowly counted the names of the survivors off in his head, himself, Nathan, Jesika, Matt, Zack, Julia, Alec, Nero, Chris and Alex. He gulped when he thought about who they had lost. “Not Jordan… no he can’t be gone.” Zack said, he seemed to be in shock. “Poor Fauna…” Jesika said, John couldn’t imagine what the kid had seen today. “We didn’t all make it,” the almost emotionless voice of Alex said now as he adjusted his glasses. “Blake, Scott, Spirit, Jordan, Tyrone and Fauna are all dead. I can’t see any body for Ultimate Chris but he is presumed dead or missing in action.” He said; John wasn’t sure how he was being so calm about that fact. “Liliana is dead too.” John said. “I’m sorry John.” Julia said. He cast his eyes on what was left of the X-Men; they all looked scared, burnt, injured but happy to be alive. “We need to get out of the city. There is no telling if the Phoenix will strike again.” Alex said taking the lead. “I agree with slim. We carry those who are too injured.” John said as he got to his feet. A few minutes later and the X-Men were slowly moving through the ruins of Las Vegas. It seemed that any assassin had been vaporized in the blast, there didn’t seem to be another human being alive in sight. “Where did those giant Enforcer mechs go?” Matt said, referring to the ones he’d tried to blast earlier and had ended up getting Aleks very wounded. Rebekah had shown up before taking Aleks away from the scene and Christine had gone after both of them, he felt severely guilty. Alec and Nathan were helping to carrying Nero, Jesika sticking close to Nathan. “Gone, they were right over the city, no way they survived the explosion.” Alex said. “Sorry to make you guys carry me, I would shift into my lycan form but I’m kinda out of juice.” Nero said. “The Blackbird was shot down, and everything is destroyed, how are we supposed to get back to Westchester?” Chris asked. “Zack needs medical attention; we have to find a way out.” Julia added. “Too bad that Spirit guy’s dead, I sure could of used his healing powers.” Zack muttered, wincing from his gunshot wound. John looked at Zack and his eyes softened. The kid had gone through too much in one day, for one his sister had gone Phoenix and killed Jeremy, now she’d blown up half of the entire city killing Jordan too along with a lot of good other people and countless innocent, and some not so innocent lives. Thirty minutes or so later of walking through the ruined city and John noticed some movement. There seemed to be someone running through the streets, with someone else slung over their back. “Christine?!” John shouted. The person stopped and turned, it was her sure enough, bloody and covered in ash but her. The person on her back looked to be an injured, and unconscious Aleks. “Ah followed Rebekah to a hospital… she left and Ah found Aleks then the whole place exploded.” Christine said breathing hard, it was clear she was happy to see the group. “Where is everyone else?” Christine asked. “Dead or missing,” Alex said. She shook her head but said nothing. “Aleks is badly hurt; we have to get him out of the city. We have to get him some help.” Christine said. “And we will. I promise.” Matt said. “We just have to keep going, there has to be an end to these blast ruins, there has to be a useable hospital somewhere up head.” “Ah hope Rebekah got out of the city before this happened.” Christine added. “I’m sure she’s fine, Rebekah doesn’t seem to be easily killed.” Alec said. “Maybe we should try stealing a car.” Chris advised. “There’s no cars’ left; they’ve all been melted down.” Join pointed out. “We just have to keep going and hope we can make it out of this.” Another twenty minutes of walking and then the group of rag-tag X-Men survivors suddenly paused as they seemingly reached the end of the blast radius. Beyond that there seemed to be nothing but normal city. “We made it…” Christine said with tears in her eyes. “You guys see that? Is that what I think it is? Or am I hallucinating?” Zack asked squinting through his red glasses as he pointed at a large and familiar looking aircraft. “The second Blackbird,” Alec whistled. “What would it be doing here?” Chris wondered. “I told you it’s going to be okay.” Nathan told Jesika. A few minutes later and the entire crew were inside, most of them sitting down or strapping in. John watched as Christine tended to Aleks who was still out cold. “There is no one in here.” John pointed out. Then they heard someone banging one of the lockers. "What the ****?" Zack said. Alex crouched down and opened the locker. It was none other then Alaric. "Warren... where's Warren?" Ric asked. **** Genosha was under attack. The Enforcers were here. Pietro stood at his window as he watched them bombard the force field protecting the mutant nation. It was only a matter of time before they broke through, before they killed them all. Nate, Scorcher, Destruction, Shiloh and Magnitude all stood near Pietro watching the assault. “We must leave.” Pietro said finally. There wasn’t time to save everyone; no he would only be able to save those close to hand. That was when Pietro got a call. He pulled out his cellphone and answered it. “Hello?” Quicksilver asked. “We are in position, should we move in? President Binder will be dead in minutes.” A crisp voice said over the line. Then Pietro suddenly remembered his assassination plans, the assassin squad he’d sent into DC to take the President out. This was the wrong time, completely. The Brotherhood was already on the verge if destruction of they moved forward the Enforcers would make sure they hunted them all down until the Brotherhood was extinct. “Negative, back out, the operation is over.” Pietro commanded. “But…” “No, the operation is over if you do this you will be doing it alone. I will take no part.” Pietro then closed his phone. “What was that about?” a voice said from behind him. Quicksilver glanced at the few assembled Brotherhood mutants who were in his chamber: Scorcher, Destruction, Magnitude, Abraham, Dominik, Shiloh, and Nate. The rest were either defending the force field attacking the Enforcers or Quicksilver didn’t have time to collect them. “Never mind that.” He said before he raised both hands. Pietro had rebuilt Genosha out of scrap metal; that meant he could un-build it as well. The entire room crumbled and warped, forming into a massive metal ball surrounding the Brotherhood mutants inside. Pietro then focused his power over metal, the orb levitating into the air before taking off into the sky just as the force field dissolved. **** Hank McCoy continued to work on the control panel for the Danger Room. It had gone haywire not long ago, throwing the entire mansion into chaos and turning it into a Danger Mansion. He was alone with Sarah and Francesca. Something didn’t feel… right. Call it intuition, call it whatever you want. But something made Hank McCoy turn around at the last second, and he was glad he did. Francesca was holding a pistol now, aiming it towards Beast. “Pietro sends his regards.” She said coldly before she pulled the trigger several times. Beast jumped to the left as the gun went off, using his enhanced reflexes to dodge most of the shots. One of the bullets pumped into Hank’s shoulder but he hardly had time to react instead he lunged forward, relying on his speed and strength. He knocked the gun away with one of his feet, his hands pressed against the ground. He then jumped to his feet, freeing his hands. He twisted Francesca’s arm once, forcing her to drop the gun before he kicked it away. “A spy? You’ve been a spy this entire time!” Hank roared now, filling with rage. He’d trusted Francesca, he’d cared for her. She’d been a danger to him and the kids of the institute this entire time. The Danger Room malfunction had to be her, the time Beast had been shot before must have been her first attempt. His big furry hands closed around her throat and he began to squeeze. Francesca struggled but it was over very quickly she suddenly went still her last breath leaving her as the life left her eyes. Breathing heavily Hank slowly lowered Francesca’s body to the ground. He then pressed a hand over his injured shoulder and then turned back to the control panel to finish his work. He had to make sure the mansion was safe before he tended to himself. TO BE CONTINUED….

  19. Marvel: No secret identities!* DC: This small piece of fabric covering their eyes protects their identity! Marvel: Legacy characters! DC: Maybe some legacy characters. Marvel: New tone in character, new costume! DC: The same costume for 50+ years. Accurate? Or am I being too harsh on DC? Have any more? -CF *To an extent
  20. Just saw the movie today. It was really awesome, probably the best X-Men movie yet. It was even better because I just watched First Class like a week ago, so I didn't have to go back and rewatch anything to understand what was going on. Really loved Young!Charles and Young!Erik the most, TBH. Their actors are just really good. Definitely looking forward to X-Men: Apocalypse, which is coming out in 2016. If it's gonna be anything like Days, it is probably going to be awesome. -TNTOS-
  21. Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier was awesome! If you have any inclination to see what the best Marvel superhero movie put out (not counting The Avengers) looks like, you owe it to yourself to see it. For those that have, I present some commentary: -CF
  22. So right now we have seen the Avengers Movie, Iron Man 3 and Ultimate Spider-Man as sets (i'm not going to put in names because i'm that lazy). So i like to know of who you want to see in the next Marvel Sets. With me i have three that i like to see in the next Marvel sets and they are: Great Lakes Initiative, Deadpool and the Fantastic 4.
  23. Marvel: Rebirth -The Story So Far- It’s been a year since the combined power of the American war machine, coupled with S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fledgling reboot of the Avenger Initiative, defended New York City from the HYDRA terrorist forces ravaging the metropolis. Recognized for their efforts and the tactical edge they offered, the surviving members of the Avengers were honored and acknowledged as heroes; for the first time in years, the limelight once again fell upon S.H.I.E.L.D., drawing it and its mysterious commander Col. Nick Fury out of the shadows and into a position of public defense befitting its original United Nations charter. In response, S.H.I.E.L.D. brass began collecting volunteers, America’s best and brightest soldiers, for another mysterious reboot of a previously successful project - the ARCHANGEL Initiative, a modern day spin on the infamous Super Soldier project that generated Captain America. However, after going through training, wave after wave of these recruits are vanishing into thin air, unable - or unwilling - to establish any further contact with the outside world. Meanwhile, on the mutant rights front, the wars no longer rage in American cities; they are waged in the courtroom and on Capitol Hill, where it seems every day that alliances, resolutions, and even Congressional views on the mutant issue shift and shatter like fine china - the political climate isn’t helped by the uneasy fact that there is still not a single mutant representative in any branch of government in the world, as protestors on both sides are increasingly fond of pointing out. The Xavier Institute, once a go-to talking point for mutant debates, has faded into relative political obscurity and now takes in mutants at a slightly declining rate. The X-Men had little-to-no representation in the counterattack against HYDRA, and with two of their most known public faces - known mutant rights crusader Dr. Hank McCoy, and Ashlynn Summers, oldest child of Scott Summers and the Phoenix, Jean Grey - apparently dead as a result of the aftermath of the battle, the team is considered all but disbanded, and many members have taken up supporting roles in the Institute itself. On the flip side of that coin is the increasingly-leftist, always growing Brotherhood of Mutants, which has undergone a seemingly radical shift in tone since the public execution of Magneto’s son and heir Pietro “Quicksilver” Maximoff over a year ago. Heading up the new organization is Dominik Lord, a former lieutenant of Pietro’s who survived the government purge of what Brotherhood forces remained on Genosha. As a charming, new age former thief from the streets of Chicago, he has become the face of the mutant equality movement, and pro-mutant activists have taken to Lord the way Internet freedom activists took to Edward Snowden or liberal arts students took to Che Guevara. Handsome, charismatic and well-mannered, he has utilized video broadcasts, “fireside chats” on Reddit, and public appearances in the mutant underground to garner support for the oppressed and the reviled before using his power of escapism through light sources to slip through the fingers of authorities like sand. Dominik’s movement gains more traction everyday; mutants and their supporters are massing more and more in cities large and small, circulating petitions, demanding change from Washington. Sitting on the sidelines of the entire conflict is the ubiquitous, powerful Hellfire Club. Over the course of the last year their public activity has boosted now more than ever, gaining more funds, forging more connections, and swaying more allies in a year than the previous Inner Circle could in seventeen. The considerable inflation in power comes courtesy of Alaric and Anberlyn Worthington, children of Warren Worthington III, or Angel, current headmaster of the Xavier Institute. In answer for their father’s real and perceived wrongs they led a coup inside the very power structure of the Inner Circle, assuming the roles of Black King and White Queen respectively as well as all titles and benefits inherent. The twins work as a solid unit, trusting no one else above each other, and have stuck now to biding their time until the right moment; Alaric in particular, as a former team captain of the X-Men thought dead by those at the Institute, has stuck to pulling subtly on the strings of the mutant rights debate raging throughout the country, inflaming and assuaging his political or business contacts where need be while Annie is left to her own devices, plotting her own, darker revenge against the Worthington name. Lines in the sand are drawn and erased every day; friends and enemies thought dead appear from thin air, and those whose loyalty once seemed unshakable can now be swayed with no more than the light breeze of vague promises and unproven words; mutants and humans are forced to take new sides every day, or even form their own sides. The conflict is coming to a head at last. -A Brief Refresher Course- Though a year has passed since the end of the darkest days, the ramifications from the events during them are still being felt heavily in the world at large. Eighteen years ago, the Phoenix Force returned and wiped out the vast majority of empowered beings, reducing the superhero, and villain, population to a shadow of what it once was. Seventeen years later, Hank McCoy, the then headmaster of the Institute, formed the next generation of the X-Men to counter the resurgence in Brotherhood activity, and the increasing abuse by the Enforcers. Though their skirmishes made headline news, they did not know that a more sinister threat lurked. Weapon X struck a surprise blow against the Institute, capturing the majority of its residents. The few that remained were forced to flee and hope to fight again another day. Eventually, they joined forces with the Brotherhood against the mutual enemy, storming and razing the Weapon X facility. Meanwhile, the Avengers Initiative began again in secret, it's roster filled with descendants from the original members. Thus, as the Hellfire Club began to reform, began a shaky, two month long peace. But it was not to last. In response to conflict in Las Vegas, the X-Men's temporary alliance with the Brotherhood, and the assassination of President Binder, MACE was formed to stop the mutant threat. They succeeded. The majority of the mutant population was rendered toothless, a fact that an old enemy quickly took advantage of. Hydra attacked New York City, quickly eliminating the SHIELD forces caught off guard within the city. The Helicarrier quickly fell, leaving the defense of the city to the assorted personnel nearby, including the fledgling Avengers and members of the Pantheon Initiative. Despite their efforts, defeat seemed inevitable, until the military successfully mobilized to give aid. Following the battle for New York, as it was quickly dubbed by the media, the world has not been the same. The X-Men were decimated, the Avengers sustained heavy casualties, and SHIELD's lack of readiness had been revealed. Hydra was a viable threat once more, the Brotherhood had scattered to the winds, and the United States was in political shambles. A year has passed since then. Factions S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) – Founded to combat technologically advanced threats on world security (specifically the menace of Hydra), S.H.I.E.L.D. has, throughout the years, remained on the front lines fighting terrorism and extraterrestrial menaces as an international intelligence agency. Led by Nick Fury. UPDATE: After the resounding success of the Archangel Initiative in repelling HYDRA, SHIELD is riding a public relations high equal to that of their popularity with the first Avengers Initiative. Xavier Institute for Higher Learning - A preparatory school in Westchester, New York, the Xavier Institute is a safe haven for any mutant adolescents - or even adults - who feel the need to take refuge, learn to hone their own genetic abilities, and learn to manage themselves in social environments around other humans and mutants. Led by Headmaster Warren Worthington III. UPDATE: In the face of the HYDRA threat, the X-Men reunited for the first time in two years at the Second Battle of New York. The team's future is looking to be at its most solid since their shattering defeat at Las Vegas. The Brotherhood of Mutants – An increasingly public, but still enigmatic, organization of mutants organized to promote, at the very least, mutant equality, if not outright leadership over society. Their members are often outcasts from society due to their mutant status. They fight against the abuse and hatred of mutant-kind in all its forms, by whatever means necessary. Led by Dominik Lord. HYDRA - HYDRA is a criminal organization dedicated to the achievement of world domination through terrorist and subversive activities on various fronts, resulting in a fascist New World Order. Its extent of operations is worldwide; always attempting to elude the ongoing counter-espionage operations by S.H.I.E.L.D. At its height, HYDRA was the most extensive, powerful, and dangerous such organization in history. Led by Red Skull. UPDATE: After a final pitched battle with the forces of SHIELD and the resurgent X-Men, Red Skull has been killed. HYDRA is battered and broken, and what remains of the organization is now led by a splinter cabal that includes Ophelia Sarkissian, the Viper, and the resurrected Howard Stark amongst its members. Hellfire Club - A society for the rich and the prestigious, the Hellfire Club is a seemingly noble and ancient gathering of the world’s wealthiest or most endowed personalities to discuss world events and make connections. Their secretive Inner Circle, however, takes that purpose to a new and often sinister level, maneuvering governments, starting wars, and assassinating figures who pose a threat to their own agendas and interests as singular members or a group. Co-led by former X-Men deputy and Black King Alaric Carlisle and Romulus, former Emperor of Rome and White King. ??? - A mysterious splinter organization headed up by Norman Osborn, CEO of Oscorp. One of its operatives is Daken Akihiro, Wolverine’s eldest trueborn son and world-famous assassin, revived from near-death by mysterious means. Nothing else is known of their influence or agenda at this point in time. Profile Form: Name: (What your character calls him/herself) Codename: (Your character’s name on official missions; may or may not be used as a sort of nickname for your characters.) Gender: (No explanation needed, we’re all informed people here) Age: (It’s just a number, but try to include it anyway!) Loyalties/Faction: (One of the factions listed above, other faction, or unaligned. Can also list certain other characters important to your own character’s life here. ) Power(S): (What can your character do? Please try to make your character’s powers within reason and balanced and non-overpowered. No more than three powers per character; don't try and give your character as many powers as possible, because the primary reason we approve characters is not for how many powers they have, it's whether those powers are balanced fairly and able to fit into the game's setting.) Appearance: (What your character looks like.) Weapons: (Within reason please.) Skills: (Things your character is good at.) Personality: (Your character’s behaviors, how they interact with others, how they think about things.) Weakness: (Everyone has weaknesses, powers or no. Try to make them clear.) Bio: (Your character’s history. Can be almost anything really, try to make it at least a couple sentences.) Rules 1. No godmodding. This includes metagaming, autohitting, bunnying, and performing actions your character should be incapable of doing. 2. Use IC (In-Character) and OOC (Out of Character). 3. OOC only posts are forbidden. That’s what the discussion topic is for. 4. Profiles should be posted in the discussion topic for approval. The phrase “Darkest Days” must be included at the beginning of said post to prove that you have read these rules. 5. Respect the staff. 6. This game uses a tier outline for its punishment system. We do, however, reserve the right to skip over a tier if the offense warrants it. The first offense will result in a warning. The second in either in-game character injury/death, or a temporary ban. The third offense will result in a very weighty consequence, while the fourth and final offense will result in a permanent ban. The Staff's Guide to Common Sense This RPG is based around superpowered individuals, and there will always be a discrepancy between that and what we would call realistic. However, that does not give you free rein to toss realism aside. First of all, this game's science is the same as the real world unless otherwise noted. That means that fire will not form into a bullet like projectile, you cannot pull off feats beyond a normal human unless noted in your profile, you cannot shrug off attacks, and you cannot simply beat NPCs senseless. Nor are the police and military incompetent. A teenager is not going to easily beat a trained soldier, powers or not, without a good explanation. Especially in the Marvel world, where superheroes are a known occurrence. Expies and This RPG Expies are strongly, strongly, strongly discouraged. Don't come in here expecting to make Master Chief, don't come in here expecting to make Mass Effect characters, don't come in here expecting to expy Solid Snake. Don't come in here expecting to make Marvel characters, either. You do not get to play a generations xerox of Wolverine. If you want to do that, go play one of the video games. Which leads me to my next point... Healing Powers and This RPG Healing powers are not an insta-heal ticket. This happened a lot in the original game, and it will not be tolerated here. This section is divided into two major portions; Healing powers that target the self, such as healing factors, and healing powers that target others. I will begin by covering the latter, because it is simpler. Healing powers cannot instantly heal major injuries with no effort. This happened a lot last game too, even though the powers were supposed to have limitations to keep this from happening. They can start to heal a major injury, even heal it most of the way, given enough time, but never completely. Not unless you have plenty of time to work and a lot of energy. I expect players to use their judgement, but healing powers will be monitored closely in this game. Now, healing factors. Last game, healing factors were treated as miraculous powers that could heal anything as long as there was a single cell with intact DNA. And do it quickly. This is not even remotely the case. A healing factor is an increased speed of healing, which means that it cannot heal anything that the body could not heal from normally. It just does it much, much faster. Healing factors are going to be heavily monitored in this game, and their speed must be kept within reasonable limits. As it is most usually associated with healing factors, adamantium skeletons are explicitly forbidden. Power Levels and This RPG You may note that the profile sheet reads three or so powers. That is the guideline, but it is not the entire way that it works. Multiple powers will be approved if they are all reasonable, and not too powerful together. But you may be limited to one power, maybe two, if it is an extremely powerful one. We are not looking at numbers, we are looking at power balances. Which means that in addition to the above, if you have a powerful ability that might be approved on another character, but no real weakness, we reserve the right to disapprove it on the grounds of power imbalance. Staff -Aikuro Mikisugi [Tyler] -Riku Tryon [Alex] - Sam Vimes [Nick] -Lara Croft [stari] Staff NPC Profiles The staff control a variety of NPCs important to the plot. Though another staff member may make use of them if necessary, they will primarily be controlled by the named staff member. Daken Akihiro (Tyler) J. Jonah Jameson (Snark Knight) -Tyler
  24. Oh hey guys have OOC discussions and post your profiles here please and thanks. Probably won't be keeping much of a comprehensive list of characters, much like last time, so if you could edit your profiles into your initial post here that'd be great, cheers. Also, another reminder: every profile here needs two staff to go through it. Thanks, and it's great to be back. -Profile Form- Name: Codename: Age:Gender:Loyalties/Faction:Power(S): Appearance: Weapons: Skills: Personality: Weakness:Bio: -Tyler
  25. I plan on seeing this movie Friday. I've read a review saying that it is a LOT better than Origins. But honestly, from the trailers and commercials I've seen, I don't know if it will be good or not. I do believe it will be better than Origins though. Is anyone else seeing it this weekend?
