  1. 3D-Printable Kanohi Updated 2-25-15 Full Gallery (High Res) (when public) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=410271 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this is an OK forum for this topic. These "creations" are certainly "Bionicle-based." Let me start by saying that I am an extremely n00b-ish, amateur 3D modeler. I do not claim nor guarantee that these are of amazing quality. But I was really bored and if you've read my Toa Hagah topic (see sig), it's obvious how much I want the impossible-to-find Blocko knock-off Kanohi. So I decided to try my best to make them myself, and that spiraled into all the stuff you see below. These are all for sale on Shapeways. My shop is at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/masksforall I'm not selling these to get rich, (my markup on each is only $3,) I'm selling them so that anyone who wants them can have them! Again, I'm a verrrryyy new 3D modeler, and these are not of jaw-dropping quality. But it realllllyyyy grinds my gears that there are at least 3 people I've seen online who have made awesome Boinicle stuff via 3D printing.... aaand then never offered them up for public sale. So that's why I'm doing it. Note: The axle-connectors are adequate, but imperfect. I used the exact same dimensions for all of my masks, but some of them ended up fitting quite snugly, while others are pretty loose/wobbly. It probably has something to do with the polishing processes and the difference between different colored plastics. But with a little modeling putty or hot-glue they stay in place fine. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Alternate Futures (Olisi) Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/2999647/kanohi-olisi-mask-of-alternate-futures-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=94 Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Olisi This one was pretty straightforward, actually. I made it larger because Karzahni's a bigger dude. The smaller "teeth" on the right side of his face were supposed to be more pronounced, but evidently the polishing process wore them down to teeny-tiny. (You can tell how sooper-awesome I am at making curvy 3D things by looking at his eyebrow *sarcasm*.) I'm trying to paint it at the moment, with blue and silver. I'll let you know how it turns out. Update I am a much worse painter than 3D-modeler But here's an idea of what's possible. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Elemental Energy Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/2997158/kanohi-pungao-mask-of-elemental-energy-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Mask_of_Elemental_Energy I used the actual model from the PC game for reference on this one. I'm happy to announce that version-2 fits a Toa head very well! It's a tiiiny snug so I'll do a very minor tweak and feel safe taking it off Beta. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Healing Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/3001876/kanohi-blocko-1-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 This is a recreation, to the best of my ability, of one of the bootleg Blocko Kanohi that I've never managed to get my hands on. I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out. It's not perfect, but considering that the real thing is next to impossible to find... Update 2-25-15 Eeeeveryone wanted it bigger and swoopier. Result? A mask that is WAY too big and swoopy. Seriously, it is huge. And the connector was placed too high. I accept 10% of the blame. I'll try to scale it down. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PB6NQ6FNL?li=shop-results&optionId=55196985 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Emulation Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/LMTXDZYMG?li=shop-results&optionId=43310525 This is the other Blocko mask. This is the updated version. Works equally well with the Metru head. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Mechanics Update 2-25-15 Everybody thought that v1 was too flat, so I give you v2. You're welcome. Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Mask_of_Fusion Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/8JRAPM766/kanohi-taputu-mask-of-mechanics-bionicle-v2?key=a816cfb777d760331c83bda04ba9099b ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Sensory Aptitude Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/2995010/kanohi-tikanka-mask-of-sensory-aptitude-bionic.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Mask_of_Sensory_Aptitude No offence to the other guy who's made one of these in 3D, but his... looks nothing like the image. I'm happy with my rendition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Elasticity Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/3001749/kanohi-rapa-mask-of-elasticity-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 Wiki: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Comic_Toa_Mahri_Leading_Matoran_to_Safety.png I wasn't happy with the side-cover on this, and the bottom was too narrow to fit on a Toa head. I've widened it and extended the sides back for more cover, but until I have the new version in my hands this is also beta. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Life This took soooo long. It's kind of rough around the edges but if I spend any more time on this, I'll go insane. (For those who don't know, this was our first glimpse at the MoL from the VNOLG. Then the Toa Ignika set was revealed and everyone was all, "Whaaaat?" And they had to invent some story about how the mask can change shape because reasons.) I'm happy with how it turned out, although I may spend some time thickening the protrusions for durability's sake. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/UASSTX527?li=shop-results&optionId=55082122 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Diminishment This is based on 2015 concept art. When I first saw it in person I thought, "aww, it's too big." But actually, it's only slightly larger than Toa Nuju's Kanohi Matatu. So I don't feel so bad. I might try and make it slightly smaller. The eyes are a bit far apart (ironic, since a couple of people thought that they'd be too close together - save your judgments, people,) so I might tweak that, but it wouldn't be simple. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/8S8EVNCCN/kanohi-pehkui-mask-of-diminishment-kanohi?li=shop-results&optionId=55100092 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Weight Increase I'm very happy with how this came out! This is based on a tumblr drawing by just-a-drawing cat. (Link http://bionicle-art-squad.tumblr.com/post/100331847523/challenge-week-4-kanohi-angaru-fan-created-mask) This took a very long time because I made at least three bone-head decisions that made me waste a bunch of time and go back to the drawing board. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/7JPT3KTEX/kanohi-himata-mask-of-weight-increase-bionicle?key=f66e1a122580413de8cee894f46490e4 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Psychometry Not much to say here except this is based on art by GarryTheSkrall from http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/10901-the-first-toa/ I'm happy with the finished product! The eyes could be brought in a bit, I'll see what I can do. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/ATV76NDNZ?li=shop-results&optionId=55135452 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Growth Even though I own the real version of this Blocko mask, some people wanted their own after they saw mine in my Toa Hagah topic. I'm very happy with how it looks - I know the forehead looks a little weird but trust me, most of the weirdness is from the oddities of the renderer and once it's printed and polished it should all be one nice smooth surface. My only concern is the size. I've done my best to make it able to fit an old fashioned Toa head but since the Blocko mask is too small to fit one, I had to increase the size on this model. So we'll see how it turns out. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/V3UNJVVS2?li=shop-results&optionId=55150502 Update: OR, holy cow, you could just buy one directly: http://www.toysrus.com/buy/lite-brix/cra-z-art-lite-brix-building-system-blaster-bot-35800-52102146 Update2: Shapeways made a mistake! They forgot to send me this one for some reason! So, still waiting! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Clairvoyance Even though I own the real version of this Blocko mask, some people wanted their own after they saw mine in my Toa Hagah topic. What you might not realize about the Blocko masks is that they are designed to be used with the Blocko head, which is much skinnier than the Bionicle heads, so I had to widen this out a bit while trying to keep as much of the "feel" as I could. Update: The mask is actually too big. I'll see about narrowing it and shrinking it a bit. I was concerned about the old Mata head being compatible but I think I'll focus on the Metru head here. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KRT94AHAB?li=shop-results&optionId=55158167 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In case you were curious about the names I assigned them above. (I hope you notice that almost all of the fanon-canon weirdo masks of strangeness do not exist for me. I hope you are the same.)
  2. Toa Hagah A customized complete collection. Updated Full Gallery (High Res): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=551204 Toa Bomonga Element: Earth Weapon: Seismic Spear Mask: Kanohi Krodan, Mask of Growth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Gaaki Element: Water Weapon: Tidal Spear Mask: Kanohi Pamatae, Mask of Clairvoyance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Kualus Element: Ice Weapon: Sub-Zero Spear Mask: Kanohi Zilor, Mask of Rahi Control ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Pouks Element: Stone Weapon: Avalanche Spear Mask: Kanohi Sakron, Mask of Emulation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've wanted to do this project for forever. For those of you who don't know, we only got two of the six Toa Hagah as legit sets, and the other four were never pictured. We DID, however, know about their masks, and they are unique masks, never-before-seen. So the major hurdle to making good Toa Hagah MOCs is having four cool, unique Kanohi. (Sure, Toa Norik's Kanohi bends the rules, and is shaped like a different mask than it actually is. So, giving the remaining four Toa "old" masks and claiming that the same thing is going on with them COULD work. But to me, that's an enormous cop-out.) Gaaki and Bomonga have Kanohi pieces from the old Final Fighter knock-off Chinese/Russian sets (see below for info,) and Pouks and Kualus have what are (in my opinion) the only two Hero Factory heads that could even possibly be considered to look like decent Kanohi. There's a reason why I think it's an awesome idea to make the Toa Hagah as MOCs, as opposed to the Mangai or Helryx or any of those others. Since we've SEEN two of the Hagah, and since they have such defining characteristics, (metallic armor, spears that use pre-existing pieces, shields, Metru-style bodies,) then you can actually make a logical assumption about the appearances of the other four. They can be recognizable. You can make the best Toa MOC ever and call it one of the nameless Toa Mangai... but no one will know that that's what it is just by looking. So I've always wanted to make the Hagah because they are so distinctive, that (I hope,) you can just look at Gaaki and go, "Hey, that's supposed to be Gaaki, right?" A lot of pieces were spray-painted for these MOCs. The gold and silver colors were impossible for me to match exactly, but I'm very happy with how close I was able to come. I put a lot of thought into which pieces should be used and tried several permutations. I almost gave them all some sort of shin-armor but decided it just didn't look good on most of them. I kept it on Bomonga to give him the heavy/beefy look. To anybody who is about to say, "B-b-but, Pouk's mask is already depicted on that one Matoran from that one comic that one time!!!1!" I have only this to say: that mask pictured.... Am I the ONLY one who thinks that that is CLEARLY just a Jutlin seen from the side? Am I the only one? I can't be. I reject your reality and substitute my own. Tyvm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sidenote of Sadness: What I've ALWAYS wanted to do for the Toa Hagah was to have the four Toa wear the four masks from the Final Fighter/Unbeatable Warrior Blocko "Toa" sets. (See http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=550791) A long, long time ago, like eight years ago, I bought the two pictured (the red and blue ones) on ebay, but I've NEVER found the green or yellow ones (also pictured) anywhere. And I have looked, and looked. I've been on more shady Russian wholesale websites than I can count. They are just impossible to find. But, out of sheer collector-stubbornness, I periodically will look around the internet, to see if I can find those elusive "Toa." About 6 weeks ago, it LOOKED like I'd finally struck paydirt. I found a Russian Bionicle fansite, put out an add... and got a hit! I was sooo excited that I set out to finally do this Hagah project that I'd been dreaming of! I ordered all the parts and prepared to paint. And I was so enthralled by this project, that I decided to do my Rahkshi project (see my sig) too! Everything was going to work out! But alas... it apparently was not meant to be. The guy who was supposed to sell me the parts (who will remain nameless).... I cannot even describe how bewildering an individual the guy was. There are no words. If you want to read the mind-melting, "what the heck?"-inducing, disappointing conversation that took place between us over a period of six WEEKS, you can find it here. (Pay attention to the dates.) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6210799 Weep, my friends. And I'm sorry I could never get a hold of TRULY unique Kanohi for the last two. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to do an update someday. Update 3D-printed remake masks. Better? Worse?
  3. An island I has been working on since... well, quite a long time, for a project that has been in my mind since... well, the dawn of my creative hobby.... with many reboots, retooling, and stuff involved. Nothing says fun for me than create an island, which I proudly present to you as a Bionicle fan-Island, and it's own thing as well.
  4. Seeing as there are about four different versions of all these masks now (and what, six for the hau?), the original six are probably buried somewhere in a far off desert. And it just so happens that I was asked to whip up what they would look like in such a situation. (apologies for the blurriness in some of these) Websites! DeviantArt Bricklink
  5. Characters based on the new upcoming sci-fi FPS RPG MMO made by Bungie. Here we have an entire fire team consisting of a Warlock mage, Titan brute and a Hunter assassin. Weapons are modified Brickarms weapons, Helmets are modified TLG parts and the pauldrons are made by Brickforge. The decals are designed and printed by me, while I've used paper decals for 4 years, these right here are produced with my newly imported vinyl sticker sheets. They have a glossy finish, more vibrant colors, durable, water resistant and makes me able to make sharper decals. I am very much satisfied with the result. Thanks for reading. Be sure to check out my flickr for higher resolution pictures!
  6. Introducing a new potential renting service from Modalt Masks! Reasoning: People have expressed that the biggest downside of our painted masks is that you buy them once, for what can be arguably described as a good chunk of money, and only use it once for a character. That's all fine and dandy for people who like to keep their characters together, but for people who are more active moccers, this is not ideal. So we came up with the idea of renting masks. The upside of this is that it doesn't affect my sales at brickfair much (only the sales to online peeps, which is less than 25% of sales), and our online sales are just about nothing right now, so I think that this will only help us. How it will work: There are 3 types of fees associated with this. Deposit: I need to be sure that people can't just steal/damage my masks and hurt my business. This is potentially a very big kind of problem with small businesses like mine. With this in mind, the amount of money you pay will be rounded up to the cost of the three masks, plus shipping. For example, if you pay $12 to rent 3 masks, you would have to pay $23 up front (the cost of buying and shipping 3 masks), and I would refund the $11 when the renting period is over. -If you want to keep a mask, you can! Just tell me you want to keep it, and I just won't refund the deposit. The deposit will always be the same cost as buying a mask. -If you accidentally damage a mask while you rent it, I will give a partial refund of the deposit, depending on the severity of the damage. If you just chip the paint on a corner, that's so minimal that I may not even charge for that. But if you chip a bunch of paint off a part that has a design, or the specific color of paint needs to be mixed again, that will warrant a fee. But that shouldn't happen too often, and I will always be reasonable with the repair fees. -Hopefully people will be understanding with the deposit fee. Not only is it insurance, it makes a lot of other things easier for me! Shipping: The buyer will of course have to pay for shipping both ways. The shipping TO the customer will be $2; I will help the customer to get the cheapest shipping possible, so it should be $2 back as well. Subscription: The previous two fees cover necessities for my business that make sure that I'm not losing money. Here's the part where I make money, but this is also the part that is variable right now. I want to hear feedback from BZP users as to what they think is reasonable. The way I see it, this service obviously needs to be cheaper than just buying a mask, and by a lot. If a person only rents one mask, that already drives their fees up to $4 from shipping, and $2 is just not enough money to split between me and my partner for this service. Therefore, obviously, I would have to have a minimum of at least 2 masks rented at a time for me to be operating at enough of a profit. Shipping doesn't go up until you get up to a number of masks that is entirely unreasonable also. I think the best course of action would be to say that a person can rent 3 masks, for a subscription fee of $8. With both shipping fees factored in, that makes it almost half the cost of BUYING the three masks ($12 versus $23). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TLDR: You rent 3 masks for 3 months, pay me $23 up front, and then I refund you $11 when the 3 months are over. It's almost half the cost of buying the masks, and if you decide you want to keep the masks, all you have to do is tell me, and I just don't refund anything! Easy peasy! I do all the math for you. I need your feedback! This is still in the idea stage. If I ever go legit with this, I will definitely need a small website to run this (my college will provide web space), but in the initial stages of the project, I can try this out manually, without a website. I want you guys, BZP members, to tell me what you think of this idea! Is the cost still too high for you to make up your mind on buying from Modalt? Do you think the renting period is too short, or too long? Would you rather rent less, or more, masks? Are you worried about this service because of the deposit? I am a well-respected buyer/trader in the bionicle/bzp community, bricklink, and ebay. Hopefully people will find this service interesting/helpful!
  7. ~BIONICLE~ The Legend Continues ... Hello people! Here's a topic where I will continue the Bionicle Story. I will write, but I would love to see people contribute anyhow, with MOCs, shorts, character descriptions, concept art, and anything you could think of! I'll do my best to discuss and integrate anything you guys post! Please note that this should be posted on this Epic's Review Topic, not here! Anyway, this is the first part. There's more description of what's happened until now than anything else, but trust me, it will NOT stay that way. I have quite an interesting idea for the murderer (that is Velika as you all know*, but that's not the idea). *Some of the story may refer to things Greg Farshtey has posted on these forums through Erebus. You can check out some of the Q and A's he's done. Freefall (forget the rubbish name I'm thinking of something ...) Brutaka stared out a window of the strange of the Great Being's Temple at the vast expanse of Spherus Magna. It wasn't a real window. From what he saw when he'd ventured out, there were no windows. What he was seeing was a screen showing what some camera on the exterior was. Him, Axonn, Helryx, Tuyet, Miserix, Artakha, Vezon, and Great Being himself had watched the whole spectacle of Mata Nui confronting Makuta, both in the forms of robots, one of which contained the universe that he and the others had known. The next thing they knew, they were on a fully reformed Spherus Magna. Then for some reason the Great Being had decided to lock down the entire building, leaving them trapped. Another thing that had changed was that Brutaka had regained his usual form, losing his mutation from the Pit, and that from the Pool of Makuta, including the conscience that had possessed him. Another issue was that neither Artakha nor Miserix could teleport them all away, due to some kind of block. The Great Being himself hadn't been seen whatsoever hiding in the darkness of his chamber, that was naturally protected by some force field, and judging from the gibberish he spoke, and how he spoke it, he was more insane than Vezon himself, who was sulking in some corner for being locked out of the Great Beings chamber and locked in the Temple itself. Vezon's Olmak that had fused itself to the back of his head like the Ignika, wasn't working either. They were all well and truly trapped. None of the people trapped seemed happy about the high tech luxury of their prison, most of them disliked each other. Brutaka was nearly convinced they could use Lewa who'd disappeared out of the temple to look around before the lockdown. He might have been able to break the tension. Suddenly Axonn got up and picked up his axe. He wasn't happy. “I've had enough of this! Waiting, staring out of the fake window! We have to do something!” “We were … And we'd tried virtually everything before realizing that this place is invincible! It's hopeless!” Snapped Tuyet, getting up angrily. “Nobody asked you your opinion traitor.” Said Helryx trying to contain her obvious craving to crush the rogue Toa. “Oh come on! Are you seriously still steaming mad about that incident thousands of years ago? Seeing some of the things you've done-” Tuyet was cut short as Helryx pinned her to the wall with her shield. “I'd suggest you shut your mouth Tuyet, unless you want me to do it for you!” Tuyet was about to strike back, only to be stopped by the mighty Makuta Miserix, violently pushing the two Toa apart. “Enough! It's bad enough without the two of you killing each other!” “We have no space for traitors! When we get out of here we'll be walking into a new world!” Yelled Toa Helryx. Artakha himself stood and telekenically pushed all three apart. “Exactly! So all of you sit down and stop fighting! Start clean. Now I suggest that either we continue to sit in this unbearable silence, a building storm in between Helryx and Tuyet, and probably soon all of us, or we actually try and find a way out of here using our heads, not our weapons!” Nobody spoke. Then the ground started shaking. Chiara and Zaria crouched behind a thick bush. They were being hunted by apparent Bota Magna Vorox. Some kind of revenge for the Glatorians hunting Bara Magna Vorox. The only difference between the two was that these had advanced technology and could speak, and their leader had cancelled out the Toas' elemental powers. As a result, Chiara Toa of Lighning, and Zaria Toa of Iron, were weaponless and powerless. A Vorox scrambled up a tree and looked around. They clearly knew that they were close, but hadn't found them yet. That's why Zaria was quietly leading Chiara through the bushes, back the way they'd came, trying to confuse the Vorox farther more. “This had better work … Our lives kind of depend on it.” Whispered Chiara angrily. “Unless you had a better idea, then I'd shut your mouth! The Vorox have acute hearing and I don't feel like dying because of you cinically biccering!” Whispered Zaria. Chiara shot a small bolt of lightning that struck Zaria and made him jolt. He was about to get back at her when he realized something. “Chiara did you see that?” “What I zapped you, and you actually seem happy about it. Want me to do it again?” “No! Our elemental powers work! Kabrua's staff only works at close proximity. How far have we gone from the Vorox?” “I don't know … Twenty mio away?” “That's not even that far. If we can get in the closest distance possible for our elemental powers to work, then we can blast him!” “Ha. You nearly make it sound easy.” Orde struck the intruder with a mental blast. The creature in front seemed to take minimal damage and threw a sword at the Toa. Orde dodged just in time as the blade went soaring past his head and impaled itself in the tree behind him. Then Gelu leaped at it from behind. It spread it's wings in a struggled to get him off as Orde ran at him face on and kicked him down. The thing simply rolled backwards and kicked both of them off, flying up into a tree and creating a force field around itself as Orde And Gelu got up, dazed. The creature didn't move, and stayed up in the trees, not showing any signs of attacking or dissipating it's force field. “That's a Kanohi Hau … Mask Of Shielding.” Pointed out Orde. “What the heck is it?” Asked Gelu stepping back and looking around for a potential weapon in case. “I am Gaardus. Not an it,” The creature replied. “Why did you attack?” “We didn't attack, you did. You appeared right in front of us.” “I didn't attack. I just appeared.” “No … I suppose you didn't. Still isn't that kind of menacing when a ten foot creature appears in front of her.” Gaardus was silent, and didn't move. Nor did a confused Gelu and Orde. The creature had simply appeared in front of them, coming out of nowhere. After a long while it talked again. “I had come to hunt. Do you want to help?” Two Toa teams walked slowly away from what used to be a huge fortress. Jaller stumbled along confused, helped along by Pouks. His mind was in shambles after being somehow psychologically manipulated into following the Golden Being. The Toa Hagah had succeded in saving him, and the rest of the Toa Mahri. That was the first shock. The second was caused by the fact they were on some Spherus Magna and the whole of the universe they knew was in ruin in some giant robot. It was hard to take in. Suddenly Jaller tripped and fell to his knees. “Sorry …” Said Pouks helping him to his feet again. “I'm alright … thanks …” He replied. He looked back at the ruin of the Golden Being's Fortress. Some parts were simply faded, or so undense that they'd shattered, others had been cleanly cut by some sort of dematerialisation field. Anyway, the damage had been done, and Anonna, the very creature that had inflicted it, had been sent to another world. Yet the Golden Being still stood fixing areas of the fortress with his mind, using the dreams of the Skakdi themselves, who some of were running around looking panicked more than anything else. “Hard to take in isn't it?” Said Hahli next to him. “Yeah … I wonder what the Golden Skinned Being will actually do after he rebuilds his fortress. I mean, what is his purpose? If he was created by Teridax, then for what? Enslaving all the Toa?” “Well he's not doing that anymore. I guess we'll have to wait and see …” The two toa stopped with the rest to see the temporel settlement for the toa and the Agori. The Mata Nui Robot lay quite far away, some of it in an ocean. It was so immensely big that the Toa couldn't see the head, or the feet. “Wow. That is big …” Commented Kongu. “The settlement looks rather … basic. And … well not very advanced.” Said Hahli. “You haven't been gone for centuries, you know? This is where most of the Matoran and the Agori live in … well lets say they don't always get on so well. For the moment at least …” Explained Iruini. “There are some small villages that are being built, and we are searching for a good location for a city, but nothing is fixed right now. Nearly half the Agori and Matoran live in camps!” Said Gaaki. “It's not as bad as that. It will get better in the future. I mean, we weren't expecting it to be a utopia the moment we settled …” Commented Norik. Suddenly, something landed heavily behind them, sending out a small shockwave. The twelve Toa swirved round, drawing their weapons, shields, spears and Cordak Blasters. “Whoa! Hold your Ussals, Toa …” The figure who stood in front of them raised his hands. He was tall and wore armour of dark purple and jet black. He wore a mask that none of them had seen, and although he was nearly definitely a Toa, he wasn't like one that any of the ones who stood in front of him had seen before. “It's alright! I'm a Toa aswell. There nothing to worry about.” The Toa lowered their weapons. “Just because you're a Toa, doesn't mean you're a good guy …” Said Kongu. “I guess not. However, I can assure you, you can trust me …” “How about you start with who you are …” Asked Bomonga skeptically. “I'm Iragan, the last Toa of Gravity …” Zaria and Chiara clutched their newly gained high tech weapons. Their plan had worked, succesfully luring two Vorox to where they could take them down. “The plan is simple. Chiara, you go and cause a distraction. Lightning and whatever you want. Don't make it too obvious that it's a distraction. Make it look accidental. An accidental backfire of your power or missuse of the weapon. I'll go round from behind, take down Kabrua, and destroy his staff.” “Sounds simple the way you put it, brother. I'll deal with the distraction. This better work.” “We haven't got a choice, sister.” Chiara snuck off under cover of the bushes. Zaria couldn't fail, or both of them would likely die. But then again, both of them had faced worse. Zaria made his way round in the opposite direction, keeping enough distance in between him and Kabrua, but enough to catch him. Once the staff was his, the Vorox were going to be easily delt with. Even without elemental powers or weapons, he was capable of taking down most of the Vorox in hand to hand combat. The only problem was the weaponry they possesed. They were not a problem with the control over metal though. Zaria got into position. He could see Chiara getting into place aswell as he awaited the signal. It came to him that all their mask powers had been blocked aswell. With his own Xhorath, Mask of Biomechanics, and Chiara's Perimi Mask of Inertion, they would with no doubt win the battle. Zaria looked ahead to see Chiara wave. He had to await the right moment. Chiara was in place. All she needed to do now was create a distraction that seemed like an accident. But as Chiara prepared to cause her distraction, something happened. There were a few thuds as arrows hit at least four Vorox in the chest, then something big crashed through the foliage above and landed on Kabrua, stabbing a sword through him. The being cut through most of the other Vorox before they could react, and drew out his bow to finish off the last ones. Chiara stayed hidden. She didn't know what to do. The creature was a huge winged being, wearing a Kanohi Hau with four legs and at least four arms, carrying a sword each. The thing slung his bow over it's body and walked over to the dying body of Kabrua. Zaria looked over at her from his hiding place, confused. What had just happened? Suddenly, two figures jumped down from the trees next to the beast, and talked to it. Only then did Chiara realize that the figures were in fact Orde and Gelu, their guide. What was there to do? The creature stopped talking to them and started picked up Kabrua staff, studying it, and storing it in a sachel. It picked up and stored a blaster that the Vorox carried, and then went on to start finishing off and gathering the bodies. Orde didn't look to happy, but they seemed to be allied with the thing. Then the beast turned towards Zaria. It had heard something. It drew out his bow as it walked towards him. What happened next didn't come as a surprise. Zaria reacted swiftly, using his Mask of Biomechanics to slow down the creature just enough to use his powers over metal to mostly disarm the beast. It managed to hold onto a sword and it's bow, and attempted to strike the Toa. Zaria dodged and fired his weapon. It caught the beast on the shoulder but the creature reacted fast, throwing it's bow over his head, pulling it and letting it ping back in his face. Taking advantage of the disorientation, it swung it's sword at knee level but Zaria just managed to dodge and roll backwards, firing his weapon again. Chiara crashed out of her hiding place and ran towards the fight like Gelu and Orde who were trying to get the beast to stop. This time Zaria took the upper hand, using his power over metal to damage the creature's armour, but it responded in shooting an arrow at it's foe. It caught the Toa of Iron in the arm and leaped at him, sending him sprawling, only to recover and painfully rip out the arrow and aim his weapon again. “Stop! Gaardus, Zaria please! Both of you, we're on the same side!” Said Gelu running over. “He smells like Vorox and carries one of their weapons …” “Well so do you, and I didn't attack did I?” Snapped Zaria angrily. “It's not particularly obvious what's happening, to be honest …” Added Chiara. Orde mentally informed them of what had happened to them. “He just slaughtered at least thrity Vorox! I don't see how you could let him to that. It's not part of the Toa Code …” Grumbled Zaria. “I'm not a Toa.” Pointed out Gaardus. “But Orde is …” “He simply left and attacked the Vorox. We followed him in the treetops but there wasn't much I could do. We were in range of Kabrua's staff …” Retorted Orde. Zaria made a slightly skeptical face and looked at Gaardus. “So what are you doing slaughtering Vorox, big guy?” “I was hunting.” “Why? What had they done to you?” “Nothing. They were already dead, and I may have use of their parts, weapons, or technology.” “They were already dead? What do you mean?” Asked Gelu curiously. “They were killed, and somebody used their empty shells. I couldn't feel a consciousness in any of them. Somebody was controlling them …” Orde looked stunned. “But I could read Kabrua's mind! He definitely had one …” “Yes. He seemed more alive. There was still his last moments of consciousness in him. But he was still being controlled.” “But by who?” Asked Chiara. “I read Kabrua's mind, or what was apparently left of it. This is going to sound strange, but I think these Vorox were being controlled by a Great Being himself, and whoever this being is, he has been hiding in disguise, in the Matoran Universe itself …” Sahmad ran across the shallow river, the pursuer close behind. The Agori of iron was out of breath, clutching a feeble dagger. The thing running behind him was a huge, nearly Skopio sized wolf like creature. Sahmad crashed through the undergrowth of a small forest and out into a more deserty area where grass was only just starting to grow. The monster behind him bought down a few trees as it followed him. Whatever I was, was catching up fast. He wouldn't escape, not on open ground anyway. Then Sahmad realized that he wouldn't even be able to try. He stopped short of a cliff as the silver beast finally closed in, roaring a roar that must've been heard a few mio away. The Agori turned round to face the Iron Wolf that slowly took a few steps towards him. He was as good as dead. Suddenly, a sound wave powerful enough to knock him off his feet struck, and there was a blinding light. Then it all went black.

Not an it.” The creature replied.
  9. Well, considering it has been quite some time since I last uploaded anything, I figured I should inundate you with images now. A couple of armor sets. And a couple that I painted (and sold for the most part) at BrickFair VA 2013. Now these two are pretty much identical, and I couldn't decide which one to post, so I'll let you guys decide which one you like more. This was a pretty big post since I haven't updated for a while, so don't expect anything as big as this in the future. I'm curious though, if you guys wanted to see a particular paint job or simple conversion on a mask, what would it be?
  10. I have made some Helmets with the ones from Hero Factory. Drilldozer/Fire Lord, Furno 1.0, Bulk 5.0 (Brain Attack), Stringer 1.0, Xplode and Bulk 1.0 Rock 4.0 (Breakout) Hope you like them. (Note: i have no idea where to put this in)
  11. As you guys may have known for a while 3D printing is becoming more well known and popular. I have no access to one, nor even the software to use in conjunction with the printer...nor even the knowledge to use said software despite taking a course in CAD =.= But still I would like to share my opinion on 3D printing with reference to LEGO: MOCers can create custom parts which are impossible to acquire from LEGO(E.G Movie version Avohkii, Kraahkhan, Ackar's old blade, all of which I really, REALLY WANT) Such little things like custom kanohi and weapons I believe will help keep the Bionicle fanbase going strong, and even encourage creativity amongst those who use it. But due to its nature of use, counterfeit LEGO bits can easily be produced using 3D printers and sold off to unknowing people hoping to get LEGO pieces. LEGO fans might even just go on to producing their own parts instead of buying from LEGO. What do you think of 3D printing and what does it mean for LEGO? Oh and can someone make a Movie Avohkii for me using 3D printing? Seriously though, that'd be AWESOME!
  12. Hi everybody, I just made myself a new avatar with Photoshop, so now I'm making other people avatars too. LINK to my gallery (it is offline sometimes, due to uploading of new avatars/signatures. I'll probably get a Flickr photoset set up.) So, if you would like one, please PM me a picture of yourself with this form filled out: Mask: Mask Color: Weapon Yes/No: What Weapon: For Example: Mask: Iden Mask Color: Gold Weapon: Yes Which Weapon: Water Spear-Thing Signatures! I am now doing Signatures for you as well! The same elements of the avatar order form apply here. I can do text in Matoran if you wish! Bringing awesomeness to you from the gates of eternity! -PT
  13. Introducing a new business in the trade of painted bionicle parts! First off, I'd like to give massive credit and props to Vaal's Forge and Foundry, he's an amazing artist, and he was what inspired us to start making our own custom painted bionicle masks.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I suppose an introduction is in order. This is a joint business, run by Steve the Squid (Mocpages, Flickr, DeviantArt, Bzp) and Mr. Cod (DeviantArt). Mr. Cod has been painting and modifying Warhammer figures for many years now, and I suggested to him that perhaps he could try out what Vaal was doing, since we both shared and interest in Bionicle. Since Cod doesn't have the street cred (yeah, like I do either) or the experience in the fan community (he's not really into it much), that's where I come in. All transactions, advertisings, postings, payments, correspondances, and shipping goes through me. He just started out painting some masks for fun, and we used Brickfair VA as a test run. Since they were hugely popular there (I know some BZPers can attest to that!), we expanded onto bricklink as a store base, but usually worked out orders through email, which is how it'll continue to be.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What do they look like? Here's some previous examples of masks we've made.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So how do you order? You have two options. You can order previously made masks from our Bricklink Store, and also buy unpainted masks and specify how you want them painted in the comments form. The second option, which I prefer if you're doing a commission, is to email me at modaltmasks@gmail.com. I prefer this, because it's more private that using this thread, and I can get back to you faster.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------How much are they? It depends on what you want. Here's the general price guide for standard masks and armor:(We also offer discounts on larger orders, so ask us if you'd like to order a bunch of stuff!) Regular Paint Job: Cover JUST about everything. $7. Super-Ultra-Epic-Crazy Paint Job: Things like this that are crazy complicated, usually scales. $9. Cuts/Gouges: Like this. Free, but you must have the paint job with it. Combination of Two Masks: $10 Armor: $4 for Nuva chestplates, $3 for anything else. Armor means: Hydruka, Other Hydruka, Carapar Armor, Bohrok Shells, Nuva Shoulders, Bohrok Weapons, and Wings. (Wings are 2 for $3, all other armor besides bohrok shells are 2 for $5.) When armor is painted, you must be very conservative with what pin and axle holes you use, as the pins and axles will wear the paint. For example, if you use the top pinhole of hydruka armor on one moc, you will probably have to use the same hole on another moc so it doesn't show wear. Wearing is not 100% bound to happen, but it's a precaution we recommend. Masks We Don't Have: We just don't have all masks, and for a lot of expensive masks, it doesn't make sense financially for us to have them on hand, like trans-orange kaukaus. So, if you want us to paint something we don't have in our inventory, you have the option of sending us your masks in a bubble mailer, which is just $1.50 through USPS. Return shipping is still required. Now the orders certainly are not limited to this; up till now, we have only been painting the original 12 masks (mata and turaga), because they are made of a harder plastic as you are surely aware, and the paint is unlikely to wear or chip. We've also painted the armor you see above. We'll be exploring other techniques for protecting the paint on other kinds of parts, but until then, you have to watch how you use the parts, if you choose to get parts that are made of the softer plastic.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PaymentWe accept paypal and mail orders. International orders ARE accepted, just know that shipping is probably going to be too much. If you have a custom commission that does not involve the aforementioned prices, such as custom-cut parts or a fully-painted figure, email me and we can work out costs. Just to give you an idea of time, most of our commissions have been one-mask orders, and the time it takes to paint a mask varies, but a whole order, from start to shipping, should take no more than two weeks. School and vacations may affect this, but that's just an idea of how long to expect. Combination masks will take longer.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Conventions I'm an avid convention-goer. I attend and display at Brickfair VA every year, and will be attending Brickfair NH 2013. I will be informally selling our custom masks as mocs, i.e. I will not have a stall, but sell them privately at my booth/area. As a promotion, we offer custom masks at a discounted price at conventions to promote sales, so if you are displaying, or can display proof that you are an active builder on any Lego website, you can buy our masks at $2 off! What a bargain!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parting notes: I've been planning on expanding to BZP for a while now, and today's the day! In the past, our work has been received very highly, so I hope the BZP community will welcome us and give us support! Even if you don't wish to buy a mask, I also hope you'll enjoy seeing Cod's work, and some of the mocs I've made for his masks. One final thing; just know that I, Steve the Squid, am not the painter of the masks, but that Mr. Cod is a very good friend of mine, and we have agreed that I will handle everything except the actual paintin. Just try not to refer to me as the painter, it just bugs me a bit
  14. Hello there. I've been making ceramic stuff for quite some time now. But just last month (miracle? ) I improved a lot. I've been making different styles (swords, shields, helmets -the most-, armor pieces and miscellaneous.). Good enough, I have made some MOCs almost exclusively out of ceramics. (The only bad thing is that now I'm running out of ceramic packs.) I'm going to post pictures of my "top creations". I'm gonna update this every week or so (with emphasis on "or so") with my new stuff. If you want to make sure I haven't missed anything, you can check the folder itself. OLD STUFF (about a year ago):Description: Bionicle Masks, Bodies and... whatever the heck the other thing was supposed to be (lol)Links: Nidhiki head, Movie Matoran back-head piece, Toa Mata body, another Nidhiki head pose, Turaga Dume mask, Kanohi Kraahkan, Kanohi Ignika, Kanohi Vahi. (Slightly) NEW STUFF: Description: More BIONICLE masks and some Spider-Man stuff. Links: Kanohi Suletu, Venom (Spider-Man 3) head, Basil The Bat Lord helmet, Shield, (fail) Predator mask, NOTE: The images are quite large, and they take it's time to load. It's cause my camera resolution is HUGE. More to come.
  15. I know a lot of people have custom Kanohi please share them. My is the Kanohi Kanohi the Legendary mask of Masks it can instantly change into any mask but the noble can not use legendary masks
  16. I know my last topic is similar but what is your favorite team weapon like the skyblaster or cordak blaster. Do you have any custom weapons please share.
  17. Their are a lot of elemental weapons in Bionicle. What ones are your favorite or do you have a custom weapon you would like to share. My Weapon would be a Elemental Protosteel shape shifting melee weapon used by the Ult Toa Nova from my Mocs
  18. I guess I'll use this as my 800-post special, since I haven't done anything spectacular since my 100-post artwork.Anyway, I threw this together about a week ago, and thought it best to share it with you all. I know that nothing about it really resembles a dragon, nor does it posses wing-like sails, but oh well. That's the name I picked.Alright, so the entire thing is a custom build. The hull of the ship uses none of the huge, bulky parts commonly used for the front/back ends of a boat. It surprisingly went together faster than I expected. For now, please try to ignore the masts--they're not quite "finalized" yet. And I'm still waiting on some parts for the sails. And now, on to the MOC!(Click image--link to gallery)FrontBackAngleAboveSidePose (Can a ship really pose?)What do you guys think? Yeah, I know I need to make more railing at the front. I ran out of useful parts.Comments and criticism appreciated.

  20. Okay, since Lego Universe first came out, and especially after it closed, I've been really wanting to make some Lego Universe armor minifigures. I was just wondering (since I temporarily have the power!) how much the rest of you were interested. Minifigs should looks something like this: Yes, I am currently working on a Stromling with transpurple parts. A group shot. So, would anyone else like this idea?
  21. So, this is a question that I've seen come up a lot. Would it be legal to make your own Lego/Bionicle parts using 3D Printing? How about selling those parts?I've seen different sources say yes, and no, so I want to ask if any of you guys know.
  22. This is a Matoran I built. She's a minor character in my story. In short, she was an insane Karzahni-fixed Matoran that was left behind when Voya Nui broke out of the Matoran Universe, and she was brought to a village to be tended to. She was later rebuilt into this stronger form, in the image of the other villagers:FrontSideBackI know she has weird arms, they were inspired by these Matoran and this arm piece. The blue part of her forearm can extend and retract, as you can see in the pictures. The stopper on the back of her legs let her knees bend back just less than 90 degrees, and keep them from bending forward. Her feet are kind of big, but that's inspired by the Mahri Nui Matoran, and she had silver feet in her other form anyway. Otherwise, I'd use Toa Mata feet. The ball joints in her torso don't add any flexibility -- I think she's articulated enough -- but one could let her bend at the waist by removing the connection between the ball joints. Also, I was going to leave out the light gray bush pieces on either side of her heartlight and the dark gray axle hole and pin hole (+o) pieces on her back that hold them there. That gives a nice mechanical look, but I decided it made her chest too skinny -- no room for her lungs. The Bohrok eye-shaped pieces on her shoulder are just a little decoration and a leftover from her Voya Nui form. And here she is working on boat parts. Smoothing them with that brush/sander thing, I guess, while she holds a carving knife on the other side of her hand and a hammer in her right hand, where it's partially hidden by that barrel. Here's the gallery. (Not public yet, as I post this.)And here's the parent gallery. It's her Voya Nui form, not as original a model, but the gallery is public as I uploaded it a while ago.
  23. My last topic was a huge failure, receiving a grand total of one reply in a week before falling off the first page, but that's not gonna stop me from posting my MoCs yet. PoseFrontBack (which weapon can attach to)Upper LegsLower LegsTorso ConstructionFoot ConstructionSuper-Cool Weapon ThingThe main reason I made this was because I wanted to make a Toa with a strange color scheme that it wouldn't usually have. I chose the combination of orange and Metru green because green is the normal color for Air, and I wanted to use my orange Pakari for something. Overall I think this turned out to be a pretty decent MoC. I really like how the torso and upper legs turned out. The feet were probably my best attempt at building good custom feet. But, I think the lower legs are somewhat lacking and I know I'll get complaints about those non-custom lower arms.Comments are greatly appreciated!
  24. Recently, I had an idea. An idea that, I think, is better than the usual junk I come up with. How about, instead of LDD updates bringing new parts in and deleting old ones, users could download extension packs containing parts they want. That way, we could get more parts available but a smaller initial download file size. For example:Say Joe wanted to use LDD to combine Hero Factory with Technic. He does not have LDD yet, but his friends tell him it's great. So he goes to www.LEGO.com, and finds what he's looking for. He clicks download. He's surprised at how quickly it loaded. When he opens it, he is prompted to start building by getting parts packs. He sees two, marked Hero Factory 2010-12 and Technic 2012. A short download later, he's ready to let his imagination run like Black Bess.I'd put this on Cuusoo, but alas, I am not 18 yet. What do you think of this idea? (And please don't fill this topic with statements about how 'it's not profitable any more')EDIT: 101st post! Woo!
  25. Hey there BZP! Finished up a couple a MOC's, just awhile back Titan: http://www.brickshel...cs/img_0481.jpgTried to keep him simple...
