Chef - A Matoran Inspired by Gordon Ramsay
Nahunicle posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsChef is a Ko-Matoran who dedicated his existence to cooking the fauna and plant-life of Spherus Magna after the Re-Formation. No one is really sure why, considering the Matoran don't really eat things, but he's really passionate about it. Other Matoran have tried to understand his art, but eventually ended failing at both getting the concept and executing it right. They usually just get yelled at and go home with nothing but questions about the grumpy guy. Chef carries a sharpening stick around as well as at least always one electro-blade, which he likes to sharpen whenever he has time. He wears a black powerless Ruru. On top of his regular Matoran pieces, Chef added-up an extra bit of armor to cover him a little more, especially when cooking. Unlike most Ko-Matoran, Chef absolutely dislikes cold environments, saying he hates everything that is frozen. He prefers to wander around the planet to try and create more food-related creations. "It's burnt! You burnt the bloody thing!" -Chef to Macku The build of this Matoran is fairly simple, with very basic articulations and limbs. The top is obviously based on the 2003 Matoran Sets. The bottom is custom but still very basic. The color scheme is White for the most, with touches of Black, to emulate Gordon Ramsay's general look in a kitchen: White jacket, black pants, and with an extra piece of armor on the front to replace the apron. More pictures of this little guy here: (I'm not familiar with Bzpower's gallery thing so uhhh here have this funny link) https://twitter.com/Nahunicle/status/1122493173375410176
Sergei Rahkmaninoff posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsGallery A soldier from a southern land, most effective as the leader of a small attack squadron. Here's a more typical humanoid Bionicle character than I've posted in a while. I wanted to do something with medium azure, paired it with lime and then white, and got this guy. His sword arm has a gear function, too. As always, C&C appreciated; enjoy!
Korval - The Blizzard Reaper
Pohaturon posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsSo now that the Flickr contest has reached its final phase, I thought I'd post this MOC in its own thread in order to get some feedback. I'll probably re-vamp it based on suggestions - not to enter it again in the future, seeing as most contest forbid that, but simply because it looked a lot cooler in my head when I thought it up, and want to squeeze as much out of the concept as possible. Full album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskAYaHyU Backstory: Korval, also known as the Blizzard Reaper, is a rare sight indeed. This being is the embodiment of death in the Matoran Universe, however he is something of a "newcomer". No record of him appeared until a few decades before the great disturbance. No one knows how he came to be - was he already in the MU, but in hiding? Is he the result of an unfortunate encounter with energised protodermis? Is he one of the vile creations of the meddling Makuta? Whatever the truth may be, Korval is feared by all. His mask, the only one of its kind known to exist, is constantly active, creating a violent snowstorm in a given radius around him. His Scythe is said to have a hunger of its own. Not many, not even Korval himself, knows the true extent of the Scythe's powers. It is was lends its wielder his great aptitude in combat. Korval has limited telekinesis exclusive to the scythe. Wherever the scythe may be, with a thought Korval can lift it and will it into his grasp. When embedded in an enemy, be they wounded or dead, Korval may control the victim's body as long as the blade of the scythe is not removed. He sees through the sinister eyes of the skull adorning the scythe, and the few who survived an encounter say when he speaks, a second voice repeats his words from the same skull. One of the most sinister qualities of the scythe about which no-one is aware, is that it cancels out the protocols of the Red Star. Any being in the MU slain with this weapon will not be resurrected. In spite of his grim task, Korval is not inherently "evil". His purpose in the MU is to compensate for the appearance of new, additional and dangerous beings within the machine due to the Makuta's experiments, encounters with Energized Protodermis or other causes. The internal ecology of the Great Spirit Robot is fragile, but necessary to ensure optimal function. Korval acts as something of an anti-virus measure. Dangerous creatures who do not fit into the function of the GSR are eliminated by him. While his scythe grants him special powers and augments his skill in battle overall, he is hardly defenseless without it. His mask-power alone, which causes a violent and disorienting blizzard around him can end weaker foes. His left arm ends in massive claws which rend flesh and armor alike, and his tail is also a formidable weapons. The appendages sprouting from his shoulders are also dangerous, however while they can move, he cannot independently control them, but like five-fingered being cannot move some of their fingers independently of one another, those appendages move due to the conscious movement of the arms. The many small spikes on his body excrete a venom which dulls the minds of his enemies. I tried to take inspiration from some of the Titan sets of the latter years, like 06,07 and slightly 08. I went with a white and red color scheme with some silver added as armor, since white and red, excluding Krika and Pridak, wasn't a scheme often seen in Bionicle. This MOC is actually a mix of two earlier MOC concepts. I started out with the scythe and only once it was done did I start thinking of what kind of character should accompany it. Initially I thought of a more straight up thin, skeletal reaper like guy. On the side, I was working on a bulked up Pridak revamp that started straying further and further away from the original design, becoming his own character. I've seen some extremely impressive and amazing MOCs both here on the site and in the BZP Flickr group. Would any of you skilled and experienced MOCists bless me with some suggestions, techniques and critiques?

Black and White- Review TopicThis epic details the adventures of Takanuva and Shadow Takanuva on Spherus Magna. Black indicates Shadow Takanuva's perspective, White indicates Takanuva's perspective. I will try not to let it die this time and have at least the next chapter finished by the time I post another chapter, just in case I have no time to write. So, without further ado, let the journey begin!
Click posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsOkay, I don't really do too many chibis, but I've had this idea in my head for a little while (after this post about a Rahkshi Va in "Suva Keeper" and this drawing by Vezok's Friend), so I decided to build it. I also discovered that the little weapons sold in the Bionicle Playsets work very well as staff tips. So, on to the MoC!FrontHere, you can see the double (or triple, depending on how you look at it) jointed legs. Mostly, that was inspired by the Kapura's Fate drawing, and I think it turned out well. Also, I showed off the staff a bit, so you can see how it is attached and built, as well as the very nice tips I found.SideI know someone's going to hate the rubber bands, so might as well get it over with. I thought the spine turned out nicely though, but the waist looks horrible since I couldn't find any of the Metru Titan sockets with the + hole on top.ComparisonI actually just put together my Rahkshi Kurahk for a trade, so might as well get a comparison. Here, you can see how similar the staffs look, which was one reason I chose to make Kurahk.Pose 1: FlightThe closest I could get to a MoL-esque flight pose with the double-jointed legs. It wasn't easy, but it turned out nice.Pose 2: MoL Fight sceneWell, I was going for the moment when Jaller jumps on a staff, and died, and then I remembered that Turahk killed Jaller. Ah well, I guess that he is chased by Kurahk at one point.Hope you enjoyed! Comments and critism are great, and if something comes up enough, check back and I'll fix it and repost!
Isirh The Matoran
Click posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsOkay, I decided to build with my little brother today, and this is what I came up with. It's my one of my first MOCs posted on BZP, and I think I did a pretty good job. I've been wanting to build something with a white/red color scheme for a while, and now that I did it, I have no idea what element he is. I do like the construction, especially the sword and the shoulder pads, my first use of friction. If you want more pictures, feel free to ask, or if you have any idea what element he could be. Comments and Critism please! Pictures just quickly taken with my laptop, so not the best quality, sorry. Fortunately, that means they might be small enough for BZP.

Possibly a Toa version of Solek? I don't know, interpret it as you will.Until the gallery becomes public, here are some more pictures, including his shield on his arm and back.As always, comments, constructive criticism, etc, are greatly appreciated .-

Custom Matoran Exo-Body White/red/black
Toa Kanas posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsSo I was messing around with a couple peices, and after a bit of work I came up with this. http://www.brickshel...cs/img_0469.jpg http://www.brickshel...cs/img_0470.jpg http://www.brickshel...cs/img_0471.jpg What do you think of the white/black/red colour scheem? Also, the mechanism holding the Matoran in can be easily exchanged, so most custom Matoran can fit with minor adjustements. Thanks! -TK
